Forgetting your own characters details is so real tho. The main character of my comic Kai had a fanny pack on his ref and I just forgot to draw it for the ENTIRE comic it’s insane. 💀💀
Okay so I'm literally not alone on this 😭😭 my ref sheets are just a suggestion at this point because almost nothing in it ever goes into the final product. Let's hope Kai didn't need the extra storage LMAO

one of my ocs, back when i first redesigned her, had gained glasses and a very tiny bow in her hair. i proceeded to remember only the bow each and every time i drew her. the most inconsequential detail. funniest part about this is that i later retconned the glasses but you wanna know what's still there? that's right. the tiny lil bow at the end of her braid.

I added bangs to one of my characters to hide his big forehead but i keep forgetting to draw them😭 every time i see his bare forehead im just like "GOOD GEIEF HES NAKED!!"😭😭😭
1:53 I got more than 100 OC's. in fact, I actually got a folder on my computer, full of folders that have my characters names on them, containing references and art of them. I think I remember like 30 character names from memory.
If i finish a drawing and stop to stare at it, i will DEFINITELY find a lot of mistakes. Being a artist is being a perfectionist who can't be perfect KKKKKK

Not to derail but 5:15 IS SO REAL . I'm still stuck drawing Mysims characters on the daily, they're the only thing I've drawn for a year straight at this point and it's so easy to remember their details , yet when it comes to characters that I literally handpicked the features of I have to scrounge through my prior pieces to remember how to draw a certain line on their face.

Usually when there’s a detail in the character design I keep forgetting I just stop drawing it altogether For example my oc Abby used to have freckles, but I keep forgetting the number of freckles in her face so I had to constantly look at my references So I just stopped drawing them all together and instead replaced them with 2 neat hairpins
Omg I just commend you alone for the fact that you would count the freckles when adding it to your OC! My Oc Brandon has freckles and I swear I just spam it on his face 😭
I have 4 ocs two of them have little claws and most of the time during the coloring stage I realize that they don’t have their little claws so I have to go back and add them. And once I FORGOT MY CHARACTERS WINGS and it was to late bc I had already posted it
Omg that's so real!! The coloring stage is where I catch like 50% of my mistakes it's the small details like claws that are always missed, and big details like wings that make you wanna cry haha omg 🥲
As a person with over 100 OCS I can confirm that I forget some of their names, and things about them. Sometimes I completely forget about them and abandon them, then the cycle repeats! I create a new OC that I'll have a phase over for a couple of weeks, then forget about them once I make a new OC. Wow I have a problem! I need to stop making so many OCS...
As an artist with to much OCs… um… Yes, actually, I can (kinda) remember all names if I can recall their story and/or their place in story. Unless I haven’t used them for very long time. … Though I have two guys Ron and Rick and for THE LOVE OF ART I always confuse this boy for no particularly reason. They’re story’s not even connected

My girl Crystal has these beads that hang across her pigtails in a way that probably doesn't make much sense from a realism perspective. I also only remember them like. Half the time. And then there's Taylor. "Hold on Dawning, with the secondary colour on the plaid, is that a dark purple or a light pink???" The answer is yes because I'm SO bad at being consistent with it. Girl that is the same skirt why is it different.
Omg someone made a video about a game I made and called out the art and how the colors weren't consistent on the characters 💀💀💀 so I feel you spiritually on that one. But yeah my favorite design choices on characters tend to be the illogical ones!
according to my toyhouse, i have 1316 oc's right now! technically, i have more that are not on toyhouse for one reason or another, but shhhh they're not important... no, i do not remember everyone's name perfectly! however, if i think of an oc design, the name will usually come to me. for a "in real time" example, i have not seen my oc "cowbelle" in literal years, probably since 2019 when i made him, but i just thought of his design and it took me maybe 3 seconds to remember his name. i do not know if he is on my toyhouse, i will go look for him right now! after looking: he is not on my toyhouse! but i knew for a fact that he is on my deviantart, so i went and found him there! his name is NOT cowbelle, its "dunbell" and he has the nickname "cowboy". also also, i made him in 2018, not 2019 💀poor *cowbelle* i feel so bad for him 💀💀💀 i mean tbh, you have to take my word for it that happened in real time, but im a rando on the internet so who cares if i rlly made that embarrassing blunder or not. regardless, that character is now named "cowbelle" and if i do ever upload him to my toyhouse, i will absolutely name his profile that!! so, perhaps that answers that question of yours? if i miss-remember an oc's name and end up calling them something that i think is their name, i will literally just re-name them the thing i always call em! though it should be noted that if it is a story character, i will not do that, since of course that would be dumb and confuse the reader. and it would be stupid, too. cowbelle isn't a story character, he's just some loser dragon with pink cow spots and a name reflecting his moo-ness :D a couple days ago, i made a reference sheet for my main oc victor, and i didn't notice until AFTER i'd already uploaded it everywhere that i had had made the bridge of his nose smooth and devoid of bumps-- MY MAIN OC!! like, the weird broken-nose-thing is one of his MAIN silhouette characteristics and i FORGOT IT?? HELLO??? 💀i edited the image to add it and quietly re-uploaded the image to all sites 😭 its 1:17 am, i need to go to bed! anyways, enjoyed watching 2 videos from u, i'm pretty sure i watched a vid from you in the past as well? im gonna join ur discord, eat two slices of pizza, then pass out :D ^^ *EDIT* COWBELLE IS ON MY TOYHOUSE UNDER THE NAME DUNBEL, I AM AN ACTUAL CLOWN 🤡
OMG POOR COWBELLE! I feel like if it wasn't for this video the whole situation regarding the name and where he was last located and if he was already on toyhou.se or not and all that stuff wouldn't have been solved. And Idk that's just so absurdly funny to me, but at the same time I have renamed my OCs many times and sometimes I just like the renaming because by doing that I feel like I can finally separate the iterations of them. If that makes sense, like the early designs of the characters when they were named a certain way 😭

Lmaooo it's because I was going to do a dither gradient since I do have redish auburn highlights, but I didn't do the gradient and kinda just left it like this 💀 also I like warm colors 😭 And remembering stuff is so hard, I feel like I need to make a quizlet for my OCs or something 😭

Everytime I draw my OC Oki I almost finishing drawing without his whole-arm- tatoo, that REALLY important for his character development
