I wish the buildings weren't so static when falling, like that last tower should collapse in on itself once it hits the ground but instead it behaves like a steel pipe.

Yes it really shows his passion on the game. But to be honest this game is really underwhelming I don’t understand how someone as peaky as Phillip don’t mind such a poor game really 🤷🏼♂️
@@subznautica7021 I was a little excessive on my view of the game but that doesn’t mean I’m on something. And even the positives reviews won’t change my mind on it. I don’t really care about the success or the reviews of the game I care about how I feel about playing this. Maybe I’m missing something but this doesn’t look like « new » to me. That’s also why I was a little skepitcal that Philip was so excited about it because I found myself having a lot of similar views usually. That is also why I decided to comment but we don’t really care.

Yeah, that was weird. Even "Red Faction: Guerrilla" managed to pull that off. It came out in 2009 and had better graphics than this game here does now. Teardown feels almost like a step back compared to Guerrilla.
I hope a "weight" system is added, the way the lighthouse kinda floats down onto the other buildings and just rolls over it is pretty unsatisfying, it should crush the buildings below
It takes me around 30 minutes to complete one mission in campaign. Not because it's too hard, but because I love just going into houses and throwing stuff just for fun.

Bought it as soon as I could today! I remember looking up Teardown as I was wondering if it made any more progress, and then I saw "wait, it's coming out in just 2 days?!?" Thanks for covering this game so much, the videos you've made have been very enjoyable to watch and I wouldn't have heard of this game if you didn't show it, let alone to such the extent that you have shown it in.
I already spent 2 hours in it. One of the most fun games I've played in a while. There's literally so much you can do. Also, the car physics is stupidly good. I was able to hold a drift multiple times in some of the nicer cars.
I discovered and followed the development of this game thanks to this channel and today I was finally able to play it. Although its still early access, its incredibly fun and polished, I can't wait to see what else the game can do!

I bought the game this morning, and honestly ended up refunding it. I guess I'm too old to get back into sandbox games? It's strange, because I love the concept of it, and I used to play a lot of sandbox games, but after about... half an hour of blowing stuff up, I asked myself: is that it? That's when I realized I would just have it there, lingering in my library. I do hope the dev pushes the engine further so other people can pick up on it and create something awesome with it. Also yeah, the head bobbing is obnoxious, but I'm sure it'll get fixed soon.

Phillip is the only one not making clickbait videos about 'funny stories' and 'XD Lol, look it broak' videos. It seems none of the content creators playing this game have much appreciation for just how technically impressive this game is.
Its impressive for 1 guy yes but there are many games far older that have significantly better destruction. The lighthouse falling was on the house and nothing happening was beyond disappointing and the opposite of impressive.
00:24 It's impressive that those small houses can withstand the impact of a lighthouse. I think I'll check back in a few years time when things are a bit more realistic. Who knows how many years it will take before 3D games use models with realistically simulated brick and mortar, becoming more "BeamNG.drive" than "LEGO meets Minecraft".
Likely was a bug. I collapsed a stone tower onto another building and it did do damage to it. Collapsed the light house as well and the antenna on top literally ripped through the building next to it it's incredible

At 50% render scale (from 1080p) and low graphics, I manage to get 30fps most of the time on a Vega 7 integrated gpu. It won't look great, but a 1050 ti should be able to handle it.
I have a 1050Ti mobile and bumped it down to low settings 75% render resolution and it hovers around 40-50 in quiet scenes. Who knew a voxel game would be so demanding
I'm loving it. I'm about 2hr in, but keep getting sidetracked between missions trying to ruin my own home/work. When I was young I spent so much time in Red Faction just messing around, I would always look forward to the next racing game or Grand Theft Auto game when they were details about the vehicle destruction. I love how they implemented all the destruction in this game, and I really appreciate you for showing us this game. Also thank you for not ruining the story at all. I'm pretty sure I watched all of your videos about Teardown, but I was really surprised to find that the major story concepts weren't spoiled at all. It's probably completely implausible but it would be super neat if they added some type of mission builder so I could recreate the warehouse my actual company is in.

Hoping that buildings collapse a bit more in a future update. Seeing a lighthouse fall over and remain completely solid, not even doing damage to other buildings it falls on, is kind of immersion breaking.

Honestly, Philipe youre like the reason behind 90% of the purchases. You hyped me up so much about it that it was my most anticipated game. i was pleasantly surprised with it being released since you said it will be a ways longer.

I have a 5700xt, and its lagging af. No way to turn down settings, except resolution edit: well, the water lags. Brings fps down to 30 And other than that, fps is capped at 60
@@supremeasura3358 mine actually works very well on 1080p now, even when crashing into buildings, but on 1440p the fps is decreased way more proportionally compared to most other games. And since I have a 32" monitor, I cant really play at 1080p :/
Just an FYI. This game doesn't work on Windows 7 currently. Up until release day, the dev was advertising it as compatible with W7 W8 and W10. On launch day, people started noticing that the game refused to launch on W7 at all. The developer quickly changed the system requirements tab on the Steam Store page. They're working on a fix and claim the previous build right before the release build worked on W7. They aren't allowing W7 users to downgrade to this old version that worked and are just telling people "We're trying to fix it, no timeframe" not even letting purchasers that are unable to play the game know if this problem is high-priority or not. I bought it and I'm waiting for a fix, but I feel like this move is shady at best. If the previous build worked on W7, then give out BETA codes for us to downgrade to the version that supposedly worked on our OS.
I found an easter egg in the metal furnance in the back room of your main house, if you melt the bottom door you can sneak inside into a cave and collect a golden pig that gives you 600 cash :)
now imagine all of those little individual tiny boxes which make up everything in teardown were the size of atoms I wonder how many rtx 3090 that would require
11 hours in, just finished the game, maxed out all tools. One of my favorite things to do is to try and level the "Home factory level" whenever I get back from a mission.
I've been playing this all night. My only gripe so far is how you can pick up a box with your bare hands and fling it across the room, breaking it. But if you run over the same box with a tractor it'll stay intact and cause you to roll over. 🤨
imagine realistic physics now being added into it. as in, the buildings crumble the way they would in real life. oh wait, nobody could run that anymore.
Got it immediately, and the game is freaking awesome. Interestingly, the camera issues is in reverse for me: it works perfectly fine in the car but the movement is rather jerky in first person, as if the mouse input is processed at a much lower framerate than the rest of the game. Also-and I'm surprised you didn't mention that, Philipp!-there's some obvious mouse acceleration going around and it's awful and you can't disable it. Really hope it gets fixed soon.
I really really hope the dev doesn't cave to the people complaining about the timed missions, I think without them the novelty of it's destruction would quickly wear away and those same people complaining about those missions would instead complain about how there isn't anything to do. I love em, I love having to plan and create the most efficient path to get everything done. You know if you like this you should maybe give Hardspace: Shipbreaker a peek if you haven't, it's kind of a similar concept.

Considering the game is early access it is pretty polished. I like it and find it a really great unique destructive game. The Art style is really cool

I learned about it a year or maybe 2 years ago when I searched for the game with best physics. I will buy this but don't know if It'll run smoothly.
I still hate the fact that there’s no physics tension buildings should 100% collapse under their own weight when anough is taken out from under them

I already spent 2 hours in it. One of the most fun games I've played in a while. There's literally so much you can do.

Arguably one of my top games of 2020 despite it's time on the market
I was really surprised with how well the cars drive.
The last game to blow my mind with its car physics was gta 4 and beam ng

@@supremeasura3358 mine actually works very well on 1080p now, even when crashing into buildings, but on 1440p the fps is decreased way more proportionally compared to most other games. And since I have a 32" monitor, I cant really play at 1080p :/

Yeah they had to tone down the simulation aspect in order to play in real time on people's computers which is incredibly disappointing

Honestly I'd rather see someone with a top tier computer play it for an audience rather than play it myself. Wouldn't ruin my day.

After watching your look at this game during development, I felt like I had to pick it up!
When it slightly stutters because of explosions it's not even looking like a bad thing, more like a slow motion effect to enhance it even more

Just an FYI. This game doesn't work on Windows 7 currently. Up until release day, the dev was advertising it as compatible with W7 W8 and W10. On launch day, people started noticing that the game refused to launch on W7 at all. The developer quickly changed the system requirements tab on the Steam Store page. They're working on a fix and claim the previous build right before the release build worked on W7. They aren't allowing W7 users to downgrade to this old version that worked and are just telling people "We're trying to fix it, no timeframe" not even letting purchasers that are unable to play the game know if this problem is high-priority or not.
I bought it and I'm waiting for a fix, but I feel like this move is shady at best. If the previous build worked on W7, then give out BETA codes for us to downgrade to the version that supposedly worked on our OS.

The movement is so jarring! I'd get motion sick if I played this game considering I felt motion sickness kick-in in about 4 minutes into the video

It’s slightly disappointing how a lot of the time it simply falls and sits rather than crumbles.
I found an easter egg in the metal furnance in the back room of your main house, if you melt the bottom door you can sneak inside into a cave and collect a golden pig that gives you 600 cash :)
now imagine all of those little individual tiny boxes which make up everything in teardown were the size of atoms I wonder how many rtx 3090 that would require

11 hours in, just finished the game, maxed out all tools. One of my favorite things to do is to try and level the "Home factory level" whenever I get back from a mission.

I've been playing this all night. My only gripe so far is how you can pick up a box with your bare hands and fling it across the room, breaking it. But if you run over the same box with a tractor it'll stay intact and cause you to roll over. 🤨

Got it immediately, and the game is freaking awesome. Interestingly, the camera issues is in reverse for me: it works perfectly fine in the car but the movement is rather jerky in first person, as if the mouse input is processed at a much lower framerate than the rest of the game. Also-and I'm surprised you didn't mention that, Philipp!-there's some obvious mouse acceleration going around and it's awful and you can't disable it. Really hope it gets fixed soon.
I really really hope the dev doesn't cave to the people complaining about the timed missions, I think without them the novelty of it's destruction would quickly wear away and those same people complaining about those missions would instead complain about how there isn't anything to do. I love em, I love having to plan and create the most efficient path to get everything done. You know if you like this you should maybe give Hardspace: Shipbreaker a peek if you haven't, it's kind of a similar concept.
