From a longtime Galaxy user since the S1, the screen currently on the S24+ is in fact notably more dull on a quite significant level when compared to prior Samsung devices. For those of us that want the vividness of Samsung phones, it's not there and is a huge disappointment tbh. When I first turned on our S24, my first comment was what was wrong with the screen without prior knowledge that this was an issue.
Turn off the auto dimming feature on the Samsung S24+ and if you are using Dark Mode on the Samsung S24+ it will be darker than light mode...Learn you phone... Even the maker of the video doesn't explain that you can stop the s24+ from dimming the screen...SMH!!!
I got the S24+ and I had the chance to use the IPhone 15pro and honestly both are great phones at the end of that day it depends on the person preference of the person😊
For all complaining of the dim screen on the S24+ there is no need for a firmware update...Turn on Vivid mode, turn off the auto adjust feature for the screen display ( it dims/brightens the display by adjusting to the lighting in the room or outdoor brightness/darkness, and don't use Dark mode setting ( Dark mode is actually like ECO mode saving battery features applied ) ...The S24+ doesn't need a firmware update the user needs to know how to use the phone before complaining....
😂😂😂 I have heard about the complexity of finding how to change stuff on the Samsung! Is there a little forum somewhere where people share things they have worked out how to do with the Samsung software?
They should focus more on enhancing the quality of their pictures on social media. They look beautiful in the gallery, but when uploaded to Facebook, they become less attractive. Even Apple takes great photos that don't lose quality when uploaded to social media. It would be better if they collaborated with social media sites like Facebook or TikTok. if you want innovation choose samsung but if you are like to take pictures and post it to social media better choose iPhone because samsung picture is great only in the gallery.
What I'm always curious about when reviewers go into camera pics/video is: did they only use auto settings? Are manual settings available and, if so, can they get better results from switching to manual? Not to take away from auto click-n-shoot-sometimes time is of the essence!-but it's also nice to know what a camera is really capable of.
I think for photos it's a tie. In some of the photos, I feel the iPhone was more vibrant and vivid and Samsung shots looked more natural & toned down. Some shots, it was the other way around. It really does go back & forth. For videos, iPhone is still king.
Hi Matthew! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. If you would, I'd like to get your insight on this: I'm torn between the iPhone 15 Pro and the S24 regular because I cannot comfortably sit down with the larger phones in my pocket. It's clear that both phones have excellent screens, very good battery life, and great hardware performance, so my purchasing decision will come down to which phone offers better camera quality and exclusive features. Since both phones offer very high-resolution main cameras and 3X zoom lenses, the question of which phone camera is better will be decided (for me) by which phone captures the colors and light of the scene exactly as my eyes saw it. (I must emphasize this because so many people seem to be interested in having a phone camera that gives them aesthetically pleasing colors and good visibility rather than accurate colors and true-to-life visibility.) With this in mind, I noticed a few patterns arise in the image comparisons. (I agree that the iPhone's video is better, but I'm not concerned with that much since I take 100 photos for every video I take.) First, the elephant in the room: I was stunned to see that the S24's front camera takes pictures as a mirror image of reality rather than the right way around! You can clearly see this in your parking lot selfie with the street address number (205) and the word "soccer" being mirrored in the Samsung selfie, but not in the iPhone's. How did Samsung not fix this during development? Can you change that in the settings, or are you stuck with it? After seeing that, I was sure I would get the iPhone, but the story doesn't end there. The first image at 10:00 brilliantly shows off how the S24 accurately captures the glare of the sunlight reflecting off the water at an angle, while the iPhone makes it seem as if your eyes could perceive the texture of the water in that part of the scene, which I really doubt was the case. Further, the Samsung shows an appropriate visibility of the shadows of the trees around the parking lot, while the iPhone crushes the blacks. The image at 10:04 on the iPhone shows the water as a pretty aquamarine color, but my intuition tells me the S24's rendition of the water was closer to what you saw with your eyes. Can you remember which it was? In the image at 10:15, the entire scene is bathed in a golden orange hue, which I would expect at that time of day, but the iPhone removes it completely and makes the image artificially dark. (Look at the trees) You said that the S24 overbrightens night shots, but the image at 11:18 clearly shows the iPhone as being more overexposed than the Samsung. Finally, the image at 11:25 on the iPhone shows the light being a yellow color, while it's white on the Samsung, which seems right. To its credit, the iPhone did seem to consistently show a more accurate blue color in the sky. For someone with my priorities, which would you recommend?
For cameras, I'd definitely go with the iPhone 15 Pro. The S24/S24+ takes good photos but can be very inconsistent at times. Also video on iPhone is better. Samsung needs to tweak their cameras hopefully with future updates. Also, you mentioned the scene looking exactly as you saw it. To be honest most phones tweak the image in a way that tries to make it look as pleasing as possible but between the iPhone and Samsung the iPhone gives a more natural look.
Hey great job on the comparison and price wise you can always get the Samsung one cheaper. So before the pre-order I bought a s21 ultra for $350 and I traded it in at Samsung for $550 saving me $200 and like you said they doubled the storage during the pre-order and they also gave $125 for accessories. Now the iPhone pro isreally good phone but there's never a sale with an iPhone and they don't give you really great trade-in value. I'm more of an Android guy anyway so I'm very happy with my s24 Plus.
@@Ashit0sh it’s been a really good phone so far I’ve been getting good battery life now I’m not a heavy user so I never have a problem making it through the day. I just use Google maps and podcasting ,music some texting and email checking for work that kind of thing during the day. I have to say outside the phone gets super bright to see in the sun. I never had an occasion where I couldn’t see what was on the screen, even here in Southern California. The speakers seem good to me, but I’m not super picky as long as they’re loud enough to hear I’m good so I may not be the person to tell you if they’re good for music or not.. connection with 5G I would say is really good and I work in some new areas cause I am a contractor so I’m not always in the best zones for connection, but I never have a problem with 5g with this phone. I haven’t taken a ton of pictures, but I would say the cameras are good.. if I had the chance I would buy the phone again very satisfied with my purchase
I personally own the 15 pro max but damn the S24 plus looks attractive to me too, i just dont like the design of the ultra and i never use a stylus as well.
In the end, specs and looks are secondary. People will compare iOS vs Android only. In Brasil, for example: people buy Apple for the status, they don't use iMessenger, FaceTime and don't own any other Apple device (Apple watch sometimes)
i like the way u make ur videos simple and comprehensible!. even though im on tech field, i cant properly understand when reviewers show too much numbers and expect us to understand it !
I just took the same Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas last weekend. Allure was a fantastic ship as were the shows onboard. Makes me wish I'd pulled the trigger on the S24+ a couple weeks ago for my family trip pictures. Although my old reliable Galaxy s20FE did a serviceable job as did my wife's iphone 13.
I have both the iPhone 15 pro max and the Samsung Galaxy s24 Ultra and I have never loved a phone more than I did with my ultra. I downloaded a texting app for macbook and I'm not even looking for my iPhone any longer. I don't even miss it!
I've compared both of these phones in daily use and they both have pros and cons but i do agree on the situation regarding apparent dull colours on the S24! It is still oversaturated compared to Iphone wich is what i have used for the past 4 years but i'm in the minority that likes that it's not as oversaturated as previous generations, i do however find white balance to be better on iphone it kind of looks more yellow on Samsung. It's hard to chose between these two as the iphone cameras, speakers and general usage are a great experience but the S24 software, display and ease of use with my pc make it tempting to switch over! The usb-c to usb-c cable with my 15 pro doesn't even connect to my pc it only charges if i plug it into any of my usb-c ports meaning i can't utilise faster transfer speeds anyway making the "upgrade" to usb-c non existant for myself. It really comes down to preference if you have an apple watch, airpods, ipad, macbook etc then iphone is obvious but if you aint into the eco systems then i think the s24 offers a good alternative even if you just want a break from iphone. Ps. the dynamic island app on android is amazing it works the same essentially so you don't have to lose out on that if you like it.
Most tech comparision review we watch on youtube were basically following the same pattern like stressing out the pros and cons of both the items being compared and end with no clear selection rather leave us with better insight/understanding so that we can make the right decision. However, you concluded with your honest opinion and give us your preference; this is not what we find everyday and is highly appreciated. And your preference and reasoning are most relatable. As a former iPhone use who recently switched to Samsung, it's all about preference and ecosystem, Samsung does make better devices IMO. I switched because apple will very soon support RCS.
The video I was looking for. Perfectly summed up. Have been an android user all my life but wanting to try something different so might gravitate towards the iPhone. Especially since all my friends are iPhone users as well.
How'd that go for you? I have a S10 right now and I'm in the market.. I only considered iPhone because of imessage and FaceTime really. Funny how we are ah-ing and uhh-ing over details, differences and similarities between phones, previous generations, or brands, ...differences that you hardly even notice, especially if you don't have the other phone to compare too. It's not like the difference between a Hummer and a station wagon. It's differences as minute as dimples on the skin of an orange. But people battle over those differences in a fanatical, tribal way as if they changed anything in their lives. It's really weird, and I'm not even excluding myself, I'm here too, wanting to know the difference between the top left dimple and the bottom dimple... but it's pretty crazy, you have to admit. Especially if those dimples get updated every year and you pay $1000 for them every single time because they are dimples you have to have to stay current and they are the best dimples out there!
During the day, the iPhone is good and at night Samsung. during the day Samsung has problems with color rendering (as if everything is cartoon) and the iPhone has poor light transmission at night and the colors are more purple
I had both an chose the iphone the galaxy screen is dull to my eyes the colors look washed(for a sammy display) the finger print scanner was average or even below the cams on the iPhone to my eyes are better. Cant go wrong with either both are great and i will say the ultra connected to all my gadgets in the house flawlessly.
Honestly, Im not even a samsung fanboy but other thna like 2-3, I thought the samsung absolutely destroyed in the photo category. They looked so much cleaner, less over sharpened ( As someone who does photography with professional cameras I love to see this), Colors looks much nicer to the eyes. Overall except a few like the 3x night shot, I think the samsung was far better.
I'm really debating which one to buy, because the iPhone is really nicer in appearance and in the camera, but Samsung gives a better experience and I'm used to it.. What do you recommend I buy? from your experience and experience.🙏
Apple loses the battle because they lock you into their eco system. They control your use and music to their apps. I have the Samsung S24 plus and I love it. The speed and user friendliness. Samsung has apple by the short hair with the 24 series
wait till you have warranty issues with Samsung and they treat you like a crap, they will look for any reason to charge you for warranty repairs, where as Apple will either fix the issue or replace the device on the spot... i used to love Samsung untill i had a nightmare experience with them...
Lol bro is living in 2007. I got over a 100 gigs of offline music and videos on my iphone. The only thing you’re really locked into is the 3rd party apps that you can’t use.
I appreciate you highlighting the differences between each phone but in the end, picking an iPhone or any android comes down to what you operating system you prefer and if you have other apple or android products. I bought a s24 plus and the iphone 15 pro never came into consideration. It was between s24 plus and the ultra. Because I prefer android software.
You can indeed change the vividness of the screen by clicking on the advanced settings button visible on the Screen Mode page. But Matthew's version is not updated 5:12. I'm running August update: and I could increase the vividness. So no worries at all!
No brainer for me in choosing which of these phones. I do not want to get sucked in to the Apple marketing schemes - remember how long it took them to change to USB-C so you HAD to buy the apple charger? I also didn't like how my daughter insisted on getting an iPhone because it was the only device capable of running the messaging and sharing systems that all the other kids at her (rather expensive) school had. Definitely loving the S24+
Ehh SoT is not a good metric either. You can have 3.5 hours of screen time if you are just playing games and running benchmarks. I sometimes include other times I try to paint a picture of my use case so that people can identify.
iPhone Settings adds AOD in SOT. If an iPhone user turns on AOD, they can expect higher SOT since AOD consumes minimal battery. Agree with Matt that SOT is not a good metric since standby time also consumes battery throughout the day.
The problem lies in that vivid mode is 98% identical to natural on the S24 where on the S23 there was a distinct difference. S23 in vivid had 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, the S24 is topping out at 85%. The screen by most accounts is still beautiful but you shouldn't remove a staple of your product without giving consumers a heads up.
@@lukabosnjak3829it doesn't matter. People who want the option for the real vivid mode should still have the option. I usually use natural anyway, but I'm not gonna be a detractor to people who actually like the extra saturation.
@@lukabosnjak3829Nobody is forcing you to use it? It's about having the same options this year that we have had in the past. Don't have two modes if they both do the same thing.
iPhone users are the old lady going 50 on the fast lane. I switched to Apple 2 years ago and I hate it till this day, now looking to switch back to Android.
First off, I appreciate your review, but you can't dismiss folks' under-saturated/dull screen experience. A good amount of folks are comparing the 24+ to a previous S series device that they owned. In my case, the screen colors are dull when compared to my S21. Also, you have to admit that there is no clear difference between the vivid and natural mode; it's a fact that there is less screen saturation when you switch between the 2 modes. That said, I think I'm one of the few people that can adapt to and appreciate the color difference over time.
I use both phones and the honest truth is that the Samsung is far much better than the iphone. When i operates both phones the iPhone feels like a waste. Even the previous years Samsung galaxy s21 plus camera is still better than the iphone 15 camera
Until now I still hate the big piece of bar on the camera. That's annoying. User experience displays is so much different on Samsung with much clear screen.
Coming from old samsung phones note 9 and note 20 now s24+ the screen saturation is really dull. I hope future updates can fix it or at least give us option to change based on our preference
Turn on Vivid mode, turn off the auto adjust feature for the screen display, and don't use Dark mode...The S24+ doesn't need a firmware update the user needs to know how to use the phone before complaining....
When will people understand that there is no point in comparing phones that much different in screen size? No one cares about the difference in these phones as long as the screen size is so large. The iphone 15 Pro is S24 opponent and the S24 plus is Pro Max opponent.
I have myself an iPhone 15PM and love it but I hate the iOS. I bought an S24+ to my wife, the video and 3X zoom is not so great, but overall I would get one for myself
Dear Matthew, about the display, the comments... they are not stupid. I bought the S24 and gave it back because in comparison to my S21 FE, the colours looked seriously washed out. Also, in comparison to other S24's that you could find in Samsung showrooms, the colors also looked similarly washed out. This is not a saturation satisfaction issue, something really is not working properly with the display, in some models at least.
It was intended, they are dialing back the saturation on the newer models, it's been happening year over year. S21 series is more saturated than the s22 series and that is more saturated than the s23..... They will issue an update with a vividness* slider
He's just wrong. I have the s24 side by side with numerous pixel devices and iPhones. They all have that OLED goodness. The s24 almost looks like an LCD in comparison. It's awful. Insulting your user base for having eyes when you clearly don't? Great look dude 🤦
Matthew, the display issue IS real. I'm normally one of the people that never has issues with their devices, maybe ive been lucky that way. But compared to my S23, the colors are DULL. It's a massive difference! I have read that not everyone is experiencing this issue, some ppl see no difference, you might have one of the good displays! Theres an update in the works, hopefully it fixes it i need my deep contrasty colors!
Why did you say that the display is not dull when it clearly is compared to all previous Samsung phones? They even addressed it at this point. You clearly have no idea of what you’re talking about. Unsubscribing
2:40 yeah it's a very useful button but as far as I know you can use Android's power button to do the same functions with double click if you enable it so they definitely not as con convenient as separate button but it's something I guess...
As someone has a s8 and ipad.. The camera on the s24 is not for me.. I might switch out the s24 to iPhone 15. I initially wanted the iPhone 15 but the T-Mobile store was more focused on getting credit than to just order the phone storage I wanted. Plus the s24+, is just too big
👽👽👽 I'm a galaxy user. But those iPhone are not messing around!!! The galaxy was winning until we got to the camera department. The consistency & crispness of the iPhone camera is unparalleled. Samsung needs to increase their brightness in the cameras. Iphone images all looked brighter & more true to life.

Brilliant and Awesome review between iPhone 15 Pro vs Samsung S24 Plus
Action button. I prefer the sidebar with many many apps with one swipe.
На самом деле физическая многофункциональная кнопка лучше, чем цифровая боковая панель, но то, что панель есть это тоже хорошо.
I got the S24+ and I had the chance to use the IPhone 15pro and honestly both are great phones at the end of that day it depends on the person preference of the person😊
Почему ты выбрал S24+?
Samsung teaches you to live the life... Iphone teaches you to fake your well-being 😂
What I'm always curious about when reviewers go into camera pics/video is: did they only use auto settings?
I'd add that you can indeed change in the settings whether the selfies appear mirrored or as in real life for the S24+ :)
@@emeline7274 That's good to know. Thank you.
@@MatthewMonizhow do you say one thing, but the proof u gave us says otherwise... the samsung clearly had better results..
I 100% agree with your take, the galaxy has better results. and yes you can mirror the front camera fotos.
How is your experience? Im looking forward to get it in 2months
We most definitely use FaceTime lol
believe it or not, it's not all about status. People just like it better.
i like the way u make ur videos simple and comprehensible!. even though im on tech field, i cant properly understand when reviewers show too much numbers and expect us to understand it !
Вы получили-бы размытые фотографии. Но хорошее видео
Couldn’t agree more !!
I’ve watched a lot of reviews of phones and this reviewer is the best I’ve seen.
This is the sole reason i started to subscribe your channel.

Literally every woman I meet has an iPhone and after getting their numbers those first texts are always rough before we end up talking on social media 😂. I might just get both phones and rock like Kevin gates fr
The s24+ has an action button too infact every samsung has an action button
I wish people acknowledge that Samsung had that first. Not to mention we have action buttons on the lock screen or side swipe gestures I use my side swipes for flash light and screenshot
Bias yet not bias, imagine that on TH-cam where you make money for content
Why not S24 vs. iPhone 15 pro instead of S24+
Because they are the same price
Just got the Black S24+ yesterday, damn I love big phones but they could even go bigger for my own feels
I have owned neither Samsung nor iPhone but Huawei. However, I am eying one of these flagships.
I use goodlock and registar to customize the hold powerbutton shortcut on my samsung. You can set it to flashlight, silent mode and other things

It really depends on your preference. They are the best phones of the modern age
Anyone else having the screen issues with their s24? Colors looking washed out etc. Supposedly its a bug that will hopefully get fixed. The brightness on mine also changes for no apparent reason at random times.
The saturation isn't a bug, it's intended as Samsung has stated, they are going to release an update that will give you vividness* slider
Use adaptive color tone, makes the screen look much better
Im weird. I prefer Samsung. Ive used both side by side for nearly a decade. Ad ive always thought iPhone photos were better with samsung videos being better.
11:13
excuse me sir, which one did you say was brighter?
iphone made it way brighter ans overexposed
I got $863 trade in so it was a no Brainer. Waiting for my S24+ in the mail. Listening to you makes me feel like I made a good decision giving up me S21 ultra.
😄👍
During the day, the iPhone is good and at night Samsung.
during the day Samsung has problems with color rendering (as if everything is cartoon) and the iPhone has poor light transmission at night and the colors are more purple
I personally liked last year slightly rounded design. Right now they just all look the same
I had both an chose the iphone the galaxy screen is dull to my eyes the colors look washed(for a sammy display) the finger print scanner was average or even below the cams on the iPhone to my eyes are better.
I say either one could be the right one, cant go wrong with either.
I'm really debating which one to buy, because the iPhone is really nicer in appearance and in the camera, but Samsung gives a better experience and I'm used to it.. What do you recommend I buy? from your experience and experience.🙏
I'm in the same situation
Купите оба телефона.
Apple loses the battle because they lock you into their eco system. They control your use and music to their apps. I have the Samsung S24 plus and I love it. The speed and user friendliness. Samsung has apple by the short hair with the 24 series
wait till you have warranty issues with Samsung and they treat you like a crap, they will look for any reason to charge you for warranty repairs, where as Apple will either fix the issue or replace the device on the spot... i used to love Samsung untill i had a nightmare experience with them...
what do you mean locked in? there are plenty of music services that work on the iPhone
Lol bro is living in 2007. I got over a 100 gigs of offline music and videos on my iphone. The only thing you’re really locked into is the 3rd party apps that you can’t use.
Samsung also lose it when it asks u to use the shitty Samsung account for many things.
Would rather go for other android
Never had an issue with music tbh
If people would stop using "dAyS" as battery life benchmark and start putting up actually usable SOT data that be great
Ehh SoT is not a good metric either.
1st time honest conclusion ❤
iPhone photos look too much yellow.... Plus, the battery life is worse than the previous model. Coming from the 15 Pro user😅
Потому у айфона желтит экран
Press your Sumsang's Power Button twice, and you'll have flashlight [check yo Settings tho].
Vivid is toyish mode, cool for A series phones but not for the flagships
@@lukabosnjak3829it doesn't matter. People who want the option for the real vivid mode should still have the option. I usually use natural anyway, but I'm not gonna be a detractor to people who actually like the extra saturation.
@@lukabosnjak3829Nobody is forcing you to use it? It's about having the same options this year that we have had in the past. Don't have two modes if they both do the same thing.
@@lukabosnjak3829 Totally missing the point.
iPhone users are the old lady going 50 on the fast lane.
I bought s24+ and I love it
I use both phones and the honest truth is that the Samsung is far much better than the iphone. When i operates both phones the iPhone feels like a waste. Even the previous years Samsung galaxy s21 plus camera is still better than the iphone 15 camera
Good honest review. Thx man
6:04 Thats the whole point, the samsung feels snappier!! And that does matter!
▪︎ In my opinion, the S24 series is better (I also like the 15 Pro)
It all comes down to preference tbh, both are really great phones
Until now I still hate the big piece of bar on the camera. That's annoying. User experience displays is so much different on Samsung with much clear screen.
Coming from old samsung phones note 9 and note 20 now s24+ the screen saturation is really dull. I hope future updates can fix it or at least give us option to change based on our preference
Turn on Vivid mode, turn off the auto adjust feature for the screen display, and don't use Dark mode...The S24+ doesn't need a firmware update the user needs to know how to use the phone before complaining....
Thank you so much! Soooo useful!
You can double click the s24s power button and the flashlight will come on. Or anything you would like
In Vivo y20 press and hold the volume down button and it will do the same thing as the actions button does.
Kudos. Most sensible comparison vid.
When will people understand that there is no point in comparing phones that much different in screen size? No one cares about the difference in these phones as long as the screen size is so large. The iphone 15 Pro is S24 opponent and the S24 plus is Pro Max opponent.
Тогда кто соперник Galaxy S24 Ultra?
@@bikealmaks league on its own. Maybe better compared to tablets.
You can map flashlight or mute all to the buttons of the S24plus
I have myself an iPhone 15PM and love it but I hate the iOS. I bought an S24+ to my wife, the video and 3X zoom is not so great, but overall I would get one for myself
Bro the s24 mic sounds so good
I personally own the iphone 15 pro and recently purchased s24 plus. Samsung has come a long way. S24 plus will be my daily driver for sure
Please if you have an older phone you're not using that you want to giveaway I really need a phone for my mobile photography.. I just can't afford any
Dear Matthew, about the display, the comments... they are not stupid.
Please if s21 fe that you want to giveaway I really need a phone for my mobile photography.. I just can't afford any this devices
He's just wrong. I have the s24 side by side with numerous pixel devices and iPhones. They all have that OLED goodness. The s24 almost looks like an LCD in comparison. It's awful. Insulting your user base for having eyes when you clearly don't? Great look dude 🤦
pretty balanced comparison!
Already have an iphone 15 pro from work. Considering the 24+ as my burner to have a similar body size
I feel like with a $1000 phone, you should be getting at least a 5x optical zoom
Some people don't want to step back to take their portrait shots, so no 5x is not a must. But the 3x needs a much awaited update since the s22/s22+

2:40 yeah it's a very useful button but as far as I know you can use Android's power button to do the same functions with double click if you enable it so they definitely not as con convenient as separate button but it's something I guess...
I don’t ever go brighter than 50% on my iPhone 13pro , so idk why I’m obsessed with how bright the s24 pro/ultra can get …
As someone has a s8 and ipad.. The camera on the s24 is not for me.. I might switch out the s24 to iPhone 15. I initially wanted the iPhone 15 but the T-Mobile store was more focused on getting credit than to just order the phone storage I wanted. Plus the s24+, is just too big
Бери iPhone 15 pro или iPhone 16 pro осенью.
