André Jeanpierre Congrats, looking at getting this too. My current impreza is white so I want to change it up. Thinking WRB or DGM. White is a bitch to keep clean and I notice break dust so easily.
+Steven Kirkbright, I see your point, but while at the dealer, where I too was going to get a different color than white, it was the only one that looked clean; even though they all had a nice layer of dust. Plus that pearl in the paint just pops! It's only been 4 days, but I'm really loving this car.
Well congrats :) I'll probably go with WRB more than likely only because I've always dreamed of that classic Subaru colour lol. Where are you located anyways? Curious to know what payments are on this in any other Country other than Canada lol
WRB was my second choice. If I ever wrap it for any reason, it'd be in that color. I'm located in Long Beach, California. Not sure on payments though, depends on the loan & up front money I'd suppose.
Congrats man! What a beautiful car! My TL lease is up soon and I CANT wait to get myself a WRX same trim/color as yours. Great video! Can't wait to see more !
Congrats on your WRX!!! I've been following your channel and can't wait to see more videos. I ordered mine and I should be getting it next week (fingers crossed) and it's a manual Limited on crystal white. The dealer said that it will have the STI short throw shifter as well. I already have a bunch of mods in mind but will be looking at your videos to get ideas.
brunoisrael Nice!!! I was bummed at first about not ordering the shifter, but after driving the car for a couple of days the stock shifter isn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Im still gonna install a short shifter at some point though lol
congratulations on getting the new WRX. I'm planning on getting one in the near future as my 2011 Hyundai Sonata is a little bit boring to drive recently lol😅. Definitely I'm going to watch your future videos about this car and I hope you have much fun with it. P.s (Manual Rules!!!! 😂👍🏽)
Congratulations! I ordered a white in limited trim, too. I still have another month for mine to come in. Last week in August was the time frame I was given. Awesome to see your excitement! Good luck with your WRX!
Fran J Not to get your hopes up my mine came about 3 weeks early. A lot of people have been recieveing them a few weeks earlier than their original ETA. Either way, it will be worth the wait!
Congratulations! I loved the look of my 2013 stock STi wheels (base model), which are the exact same wheels on the 2016 WRX, that I kept them for quite a while before upgrading. Looking forward to future updates!
Congratulations. Coincidentally, I’m also going from a BRZ to a WRX Limited with largely the same options - - and even the same colors on ‘em. I’ve still got a month or so to wait for the WRX, but I’m glad to hear your enthusiastic response to getting yours.
Stuart Scherer Thanks and congrats on your order. There are many things that make the BRZ a great car but personally I thought I would be happier in a WRX. The BRZ actually belongs to my fiancé so she has that and I have the rex. Im a lucky guy in more ways than one :)
Love the excitement! I'm definitely peanut butter! I picked up my focus ST.(I know no comparison) but I really wanted a hatch. Can't wait to see you mods and upgrades for this car. Love the color!
I bought the fastest color of course Performance blue ;p. I love my ST but the WRX is such a better car, interior could use a little work but honestly who buys a WRX for the interior. The RS sounds awesome, but when I was buying my ST I had already seen a huge markup on them.
I have yet to drive one of these 2015+ models. I traded my BRZ in for a 2014 WRX hatchback after I got 2 siberian huskies. Currently have no room for 2 cars :( 300+ whp and 330 tq and a ton of smiles later, I still want another BRZ for the near future. Hopefully by the time I'm ready, Subaru doesn't butcher (or discontinue) the BRZ.
Awesome choice man, I've been looking at the WRX really hard and am still up in the air, but if I do decide to pull the trigger it will likely be white or silver. The white looks great, keep the videos coming...
Awesome video! Love your excitement! Thank you for the mention. I want your headlights. Love the black out sides of them.... Wonder if I can get those? Jealous of your leather. Leds & HK. Big time. Lol
Lou M I'm sure if you want to do a trade in later your dealer should give you a good deal because you're a return customer. IDK how comfortable you are with removing your headlights but you can paint the inside black.
Yea, was going to get the body shop to replace my headlights with all new black units and led but they cannot do it. :( Any step up from all stock has got to be better. lol.
Good video mate, I have a 2015 premium model and have just done 50,000km and its running just great, but definitely needs bigger wheels though, i do highway kms each day about 270 each day and i'm still not bored of it, its also amazing how people just get out of my way against my previous Honda, my only complaint is that I wish they spent 2k more on the interior and made it better, even my girlfriends Mazada 3 has a better interior but it sounds like a lawnmower so no comparison!
Errol Flynn I forgot to mention in aussie our premium is your Limited and paid 46k for it aussie $ so you guys in the USA get a much better deal...... and we are closer to Japan!
LUCKY! My 2016 CWP WRX will be here on 7/28! I got the limited with HK/Nav/pushbutton start also. I'm so glad to see that it comes with the turn signals in the mirrors! I have boxes of parts sitting here waiting for my car to arrive! I got red RA mud flaps, OEM vortex generator, front lip, a ton of LEDs from subispeed(yellow fog lights, high beam/DRLs, all interior + trunk and license plate lights), a valentine V1 with hardware kit, hella horns with harness, Grimmspeed plate relocator, and.... GOLD 18x8.5 enkei RPF1 wheels. I also ordered mine with the SPT exhaust and SPT STS. Do you have either of these? If so, what do you think?
Jeff Reinke Congrats! Damn you went all out! Cant wait to the RPF1s on the white! I have stock exhust and stock shifter. The stock shifter isn't as bad as I though it would be and the stock exhaust has a nice tone but just needs to be a bit louder. I think the STi exhaust will do just that.
It's funny - you mention about the reverse being in a different location. Reminded me of this one time I had to drive a 2 1/2 ton truck in the army and scared the shit out of a bunch of people that were hanging out behind me - the reverse is all the way to the left and up, no lock out so... :(
***** They are in the works lol I wanted to wait until the 1000 mile break in before my next video so I can do a reaction about the performance. Have about 400 more miles to go lol
Definitely one of the best performance cars for the money in Aus. Did you get the premium model? How much did you pay drive away? And one last question, did you consider other cars like the focus ST or VF SS before you purchased your WRX?
Tim G hi tim, i know the question wasn't aimed at me but my girlfriend and i did looked at the VF ss before we got her the WRX and honestly in our opinion the WRX is the way to go, the VFSS is quick and all but its a bit of a boat with the steering and drinks a lot of fuel
Great video Alex. Cant wait to see more. Makes me get excited about ordering. It almost makes the wait harder seeing how much people love this car when they get their hands on it. Still have about a year left with student loans:(.
Something i find interested is the 2016 mpg is rated slightly lower than the 2015. It must be the bigger wheels(which look identical to the 2012 Sti wheels in a darker shade) I suppose the compromise had to come in somewhere. The price for a limited is awfully close to the Sti . With that said, despite a few more bells and whistles, i still think the base model is the best bang for the buck which is 27k .But If you pay 32-33 grand on a limited, might as well get the sti .
Tim Davidson It really is apples and oranges. I could have bought an STi but chose a fully loaded wrx instead. It really came down to what I was planning to do with the car 90% of the time; driving it. Better mpg, lower insurance, softer ride. For me, it was more important to have a daily driver that I can take to the track than a track car that can be daily driven. My opinion though. And I agree that the base wrx is the best bang for your buck out there.
That's true . They are similar in some regards yet different . I wanted the 15 Sti really just to say I had one and nothing more . I'm not a track person or Modder really . The dealer did their best to encourage me to the Wrx instead because of those reasons . After driving both cars I was really surprised how the WRX felt quicker than the Sti . The new engine and DI twin scroll have every reason as to why . With that said , it just didn't make sense for me personally to get a limited when it was only 1500 difference between it and the Sti . I almost felt obligated to get the Sti if I was to go with the limited so it made more sense for me to go with the base model and save 6 grand . The thing I am impressed with the most besides the performance , is the mpg . I am a averaging a staggering 34mpg on the highway and 28mpg combined . I thought it was inaccurate reading until I did the math on the odometer on a few occasions . No way is the Sti touching near those kinda numbers with its old engine . The Sti does need an update under the hood .
I am over 11,000 on my Rex too. I dont know about you but the reason i been able to average 29.1mpg combined is because i usually dont rev past 4000rpm(no need to since the car maximizes torque down low) AND i use cruise control during city driving as well .Anyway according to Subaru, the mpg for the 2016 is actually rated slightly lower ,not higher, than the 2015. It must be the bigger wheels they added.
eyean1 Thanks! I hope you do! Im planning making a video about how this generation is attracting a lot older buyers. Most people I see on youtube other forms of social media with these cars seem to be 30-50. I think its great because I wanted a somewhat "grown up" car.
Congrats on finally getting the car! How is the casual driving experience like compared to your 2011 WRX? I drive a 2004 2.5 RS, but now that I'm out of college, I want to save up for a newer car. I'm looking to get a used '11-'14 WRX hatch or waiting to see if Subaru will release a new hatch for the 2017 line up.
Kokinkun The 2011 was easier to drive imo. The shifting was very loose(not a bad thing) and easy. The steering was super light (I could turn the wheel with one finger). The suspension was was pretty soft and took bumps and pot holes very well. All these things made it a great daily driver, but not a great canyon crusher. Be warned, the hatches have a lot of rattles on the interior. at least mine did. Hope this helps!
Congrats! Ordered mine last month (base WRX in WRB with a short throw shifter) and have to wait until the end of August. Have been driving a 03 WRX since 2006 and getting up there in mileage and age. Have to time it just right (selling my Old one just before the new one arrives)
Keith Celia The WRB is the only color I like with the base wheels. Somethin about the black/blue color combo really pops. Congrats on your order. Ever think about keeping the 03 as a grocery getter? lol
Cool video. I'm curious why you chose the wrx instead of sti? I'm probably buying a 2017 wrx limited with navi next year. Your set up is the exact way I would get mine except I want wrb. Thanks for pointing out the signal lighting is on the door mirror for the limited with navi. That's important to me and I wasn't sure if it had that feature. Looking forward to more videos about the wrx.
Alex, congrats on getting your 2016 WRX! I hope its been a great experience for you. I just paid off my 2015 Honda and looking at getting a 2016 WRX, hopefully by next week. Please let me know if it's a good move to get a 2016 or wait for the 2017s. Thank you for your advice!
+Jason Smith Thanks Jason! I'm not sure if Subaru has any changes in mind for the 2017 model year. Most of the rumors are for 2018/2019. So if you're sure on the WRX I don't see any reason to wait until next year. We should get some news about 2017 model around April next year if you want to wait that long. On another note, with Subaru's Guaranteed Trade In Program, they will give you a really good deal on a trade for a newer Subaru. So if there are big changes for 2017 you can trade up for minimal to no loss. Something to think about. Good luck and hope it works out for ya!
It's amazing to watch you pick up your new car. Thanks for posting. I still like my 2013 plasma blue hatch STI...but I wish I could have a 2016 model too.
+Chrisstian Wicked. I have -- until tomorrow -- a 2013 Plasma Blue WRX hatchback. Great colour, fabulous car. But I got a stellar deal on a 2016 WRX Premium.
+Jonathan Hohl Kennedy (Seanachán Ó Cinnéide) Oh I am jealous. I think I will probably keep my hatch for a bit longer. Tempting to get a 2016 though. :)
Been watching you for a while now. I too am getting the '16 Limited and I'm stoked to finally see you get yours and watch your content on it. One question I have is I've seen many people posting images/video on the head unit and many of them show the nav unit having actual buttons. I know the STI has the capacitive touch buttons and I'm pretty sure I've come across images of the '16 Limited also sharing capacitive touch buttons on the nav unit but I can never find the answer 100%. Can you clear any of that confusion up? Very excited for you. Mine is slated for sometime in August. Now we play the waiting game.
McKinley Senders Thanks!!! Yes, The nav unit is all touch screen in the WRX like the STi. They look like push buttons but they are touch. The wait sucks but its so worth it in the end!
***** +Bryan Doherty So I went to Subaru this week for the 1000 mile check in and saw a WRB in person for the first time. If the day ever come where I trade my car in I will get the WRB. Absolutely stunning in person.
I appreciate your honesty in your first impressions. It's nice to hear the bad with the good. Do you have an opinion on the Series.Hyperblue STI and BRZ?
Brandon Blasiola Thanks! They both seem like awesome cars! Personally, I dont like the color. The BRZ isn't really worth it because they lose their value so fast. For the same price you could have a limited wrx. But its apple and oranges. Im a little disappointed its not offered on the WRX. Not that I would want it but still. Either way, its cool that Subaru keeps trying to give the community more and more.
how long did it take the car to come in, i just ordered mine on the 7th and needless to say im anxious. and after reading the comments glad i ordered the WR blue
congrats mate! Love the white. You seemed to like the Lapis Blue though, was it really that good? Also, has anyone tried fitting a 6'6 surfboard through from the boot to the back of the front seats?
Stedy The Lapis looks really good. Its a smoother look than the galaxy blue pearl. I think Subaru switched to it because the forester comes in the Lapis. Probably saves some money by not having two colors. Cant say ive tried to fit anything in the back yet. Ill get back to you
Stedy I have 16 Lapis wrx, and I love the color, it has its own personality, changes with the type of light hitting it. Doesn't look purple in the shade like the Galaxy did.
I'm curious of your opinion between the 2011 and 2016 WRX. I currently own a Jeep Wrangler and am debating getting a new WRX as my buddy owns both (2012 wrx)(09 wrangler) and they each have their place for fun. If you could give me your opinion on performance, quality, anything that can help me decide if Im getting a new/used WRX or maybe just a new engine and supercharger for the Jeep.
logicalthinker101 Unless you are off roading or rock crawling in your jeep I would go with the WRX. I would definitely look at the newer WRX for quality and performance. However, it would be fun to build a jeep. At least that would be pretty unique. For practicality, a older wrx hatchback would be better. Fuel economy with the wrx over the jeep would probably be better. If you live somewhere with winters haveing solid walls around you would be nice if you have a soft top on the jeep. I might sound biased towards the WRX, but that's because I love it so much. lol
Thanks Alex , for the info. I order a 2016 wrx limited and it suppost to be in January.... Yeah it's going to be a long November and December . I have a Subaru Legacy limited 2015 right now . But drove a wrx and love it , I'm really stoke to get it in a couple of months !
How is getting into reverse in yours? My takes a little more effort to get in..I have 2016 LBP Premium, its my first WRX but had many manuals, and none have been as hard to get in reverse as this one. It doesn't grind, just takes more effort than I have ever experienced.
Congrats man. Take good care of her! I am really considering trading my BRZ for a '16 WRX Limited. Looking forward for more video updates on the car, mods, installs and etc.
Keep the videos coming. Really enjoyed your reaction (like a schoolgirl lol...I will react the exact same way when I go to pick up mine and I'm 43 years old lol)
Alvin Law Did you get the STi Short Throw shifter? Would love to hear your opinion on the shifter. I have the 2010 STi with the STi short throw too. yea i'm down grading.. but i'll be fine.
How old are you? What was your down payment? Did you finance the rest? What sort of APR did you get? Have you financed a car before? I'm worried I won't be able to finance this bad boy in the future because of a short credit history so I'm just curious.
+Dextah I started my credit history a while ago. My first car loan was when I was 16--I'm 23 now-- for 500 buck and I needed a co-signer lol For this, I put 7K down. Loan is 29K over 7 years at 3% ( Honestly, I wouldn't recommend doing this. This much of a loan for a car over that many years isn't a good investment) payments are around 380 but I just pay an even 400. My biggest bit of advise is not to get out of your comfort zone for a car. Have a bit of money saved up on the side incase of an emergency (for scheduled/unexpected maintenance or medical bills). Insurance rates can go up anytime, gas will go up. There is a line between affording and comfortably affording. Honestly, I would go talk to a financial person and just see what rate you can get and ask them what you can do to raise your credit. Good luck, hope everything works out for ya!
+Alex Grace You bring up some very good points. I've been driving my first car for a couple years now. Bought outright for $2200. I think I'll have to end up taking out a car loan on something much more inexpensive first kind of as a stepping stone so I can get lower APR on the larger purchase that matters. I definitely wouldn't want a loan longer than the typical 60 months just because I don't want there to be the possibility of developing negative equity on the purchase. Financing a car is the second biggest thing you can do to accumulate a credit history. Since I've never financed before I'm assuming APR would be through the roof on the WRX and I may not even qualify initially for a loan that substantial. I think I'll just need to finance a cheaper car in the coming year or two just to accumulate some credit history prior to going for something more expensive. Thanks for all the info I appreciate it! Enjoy that beast of a machine :D
+Dextah I'm 19, my credit history is extremely short (only a year since I have my credit card) and I still was approved for financing a 2015 Genesis coupe.
+Alexandre Boucher yes anyone can get approved. but not anyone can get the best rate for u. u never have to put money down, thats how the dealer makes there commision. just shop around credit union to refinance the car for better rate and terms
I'm sold on this car, will definitely look into buying one It was love at first sight.. I owe $2100 on my current vehicle which I intend on paying off tomorrow then its shopping time!
+Th3Fizzle Subaru recommend's to keep the rpm below 4k till you reach 1,000 miles for the engine to break in. So no going fast for the first 1000 miles haha.
***** Placed my order mid may. Subaru gave me an ETA of the last week of july. About a month later I received my VIN and a new ETA of July 9th. Then the car arrived July 3rd!
+val sve Its funny how dead wrong people can be yet they still believe whatever is in their head. You can tell that shit is fake from a mile away. Real Carbon fiber has depth and actual bloody fibers not printed silver squares smh.
It's not the same motor. 1) equal length turbo manifold. 2) direct injected not d4s hybrid port direct injection. Probably has different pistons, cams, intake manifold... etc. No more rumble with equal length exhaust manifold
Ok lol it's the exact same 2.0L motor just with a turbo, and obviously all the piping that comes with it, but the WRX comes with better exhaust, he said "I miss the rumble of a boxer engine" implying that the WRX doesn't have a boxer when infact they have the same base motor, I've driven both and the BRZ hardly "rumbles" at least a whole lot less then the WRX.
Euge Lymbers He's referring to the boxer rumble from his 2011 WRX, not the BRZ. The BRZ and WRX don't have the boxer rumble because of the equal-length headers on them.
Euge Lymbers The boxer engine doesn't give the signature rumble. It is the exhaust headers which denotes the rumble. Subaru traditionally comes with un-equal length headers. This produces the rumbling sound. The new model wrx such as this 2015...2016, comes with equal length headers (subaru chooses this for preferred performance improvements) mated with actually a new engine, its not the EJ packed in the wrx, its the new FA20DIT. The STi still comes with un-equal lengths, so you can attain the rumble, until subaru decides to go DI in all motors, leaving eh STi hopefully with the new FA motor which I am sure they will mate it with equal length headers..(I am only assuming for this last statement I made).
Hello, what are your impressions about road and wind noise? What tires came with the car? Dunlop? because most people get to much noise from them on the 2015 WRX. Thanks
***** I haven't really noticed the road noise. But that could be because im not listening for it lol Yes, they are the Dunlop Sport MAXX. The larger size for '16 might cause more road noise though.
I'm going tomorrow to get a 2011 wrx hatch with 34k miles and 1 owner full stock. would you tell me not to get it or is it worth it? it's the limited for 22k. I also was looking at the 2017 wrx and a 2016 golf r
i love Subaru and love this new WRX/STI in every aspect except its looks. i thing Subaru messed up there. one of the things i love about STI's (aside from the awesome boxer sound) is the aggressive look of the car and this car doesn't have that (at least in my opinion) to me this car looks like a Camry with a spoiler and EVO X headlights but overall its an amazing car. and congrats on the car (i know its been a while now but congrats anyways lol)
+Jose Bap Thanks! Honestly I felt the same way. Personaly I think the 11-14 looked the best and the 06-07 looked the most aggressive. Maybe its because I own one now but I think the car looks great. Its wayyy better in person than pictures. I think you said it best, like a camery and an evo had a baby lol
dude you need to relax. You are over talking your self. Congratulations on your first new car purchase. But the plastic? Wtf! How embarrassing must it have been taking all the plastic covers off while people and the garage guys looking at you in disbelief. Your girlfriend was definitely right about it being awkward.
I'm super happy for you. But I still can't get over the look of this car, still happy with my 12MY. Might have to move to la and I'm looking at some automatics!
cobra454tim If they made a manual I would have considered getting one! I would love to get my hands on one to do a review some day. Seem like a pretty awesome car.
+d kash Depending on the options anywhere from 26K up to 34K for the wrx. 35-41k for the STi. The Subaru website has a great tool for building your own car and getting a price. Good luck!
Alex, I am surprised that the dealership would hand over the car to you still wrapped in plastic etc. Would seem better if they got the car preped before you picked it up
+Coupydog For me, it wasn't worth it. I didn't like the wheels that came with the package. Also, the exhaust wasn't loud enough for me taste. I will be getting a short shifter in the future but I'm not sure if I will get the whole assembly or just the perrin shifter adapter.
+Alex Grace Hi Alex, I agree 100%. Plus for the cost, the slight difference in sound doesn't cut it. Better off putting that $$ twds an aftermarket Flowmaster or other reputable Cat Back System!
gunracersr The eyesight only comes with the CVT. But you are paying for it too. Nav package on mine was 3100 but with a CVT the Nav package is over 4000 because of the extra safety tech. And I don't think you can get the package without it. Hope this answered your question.
I just got a new 2016 WRX myself in White on Monday (07/27/2015) too!! 42 miles so far. First impressions, absolutely love this thing!!
André Jeanpierre Congrats!
You got a new car without a full gas tank. lol. you're funny.
Congrats man! What a beautiful car! My TL lease is up soon and I CANT wait to get myself a WRX same trim/color as yours. Great video! Can't wait to see more !
congrats dude! I've had my 15 wrx for about 6 months now and I fall more in love with it every day
ewilliams5595 Thanks! I feel the same way
I got the 2016 WRX in dark grey. I am already 5000 miles deep and I still get excited every time I go to drive it :D
GREAT car!
+Spiral81C1 Great color choice! Just hit 5k myself and all smiles!
OMG! you answered my question! I just ordered a 2016 too and wanted the integrated turn signals on the mirrors. YESS!!!! can't wait!!
Alvin Law Glad I could help
Just got one too. I love this car! Got this as a daily driver and I can see driving it more than my Camaro.
(Tom's wife)
Tom Brennan Congrats on your purchase!
As a EvoX owner I have to give this car so much credit, my girlfriend got the same 2016 one in white and it is a beautiful car too drive
Scott Mcpherson A couple that drives together, stays together lol
Abdullah Al-qurashi Thanks for the support! ( I agree)
So when you buy a Subaru you have to dealer prep it yourself. Sounds like someone got ripped off a bit, maybe a lot.
***** Thanks! I was always a fan of the sti wheels and the gun-metal grey really pops in person.
I too went from a brz/frs to a 15 wrx. I love the power!
Krums15 Congrats! Both have their pros and cons but I prefer the wrx as well lol
Love the excitement! I'm definitely peanut butter! I picked up my focus ST.(I know no comparison) but I really wanted a hatch. Can't wait to see you mods and upgrades for this car. Love the color!
***** I will have a video coming about how I almost cancelled my order to buy a focus ST. They are great cars. What color did you buy?
***** You should have waited for the RS which will be all wheel drive.
I bought the fastest color of course Performance blue ;p. I love my ST but the WRX is such a better car, interior could use a little work but honestly who buys a WRX for the interior. The RS sounds awesome, but when I was buying my ST I had already seen a huge markup on them.
Congrats on the car man it looks great in white. The reverse took me some time to get used to as well lol. Looking forward to new vids with the car.
Also one other thing that annoyed me was how low and far back the arm rest was. Thats a definate mod for me.
Terrill Cooke Thanks! Yeah, I didn't notice it until I felt comfortable driving with one hand today. Definitely needs to be extended and raised.
Congrats!!! You will love it even more after the break in period... And it does look better in person!
heakk1 Thanks! I cant wait to floor it for the first time!!
I have yet to drive one of these 2015+ models. I traded my BRZ in for a 2014 WRX hatchback after I got 2 siberian huskies. Currently have no room for 2 cars :(
300+ whp and 330 tq and a ton of smiles later, I still want another BRZ for the near future. Hopefully by the time I'm ready, Subaru doesn't butcher (or discontinue) the BRZ.
noc215 Cant beat the utility of a hatchback!
congrats bro.. Im picking up my wrx 2016 tomorrow im so HYPE
Ben corpuz Congrats man! They are amazing. Youll be so happy!
Awesome choice man, I've been looking at the WRX really hard and am still up in the air, but if I do decide to pull the trigger it will likely be white or silver. The white looks great, keep the videos coming...
this car looks a lot better in person..
But definitely, for that price I'd have gotten the STi
Awesome video! Love your excitement! Thank you for the mention. I want your headlights. Love the black out sides of them.... Wonder if I can get those? Jealous of your leather. Leds & HK. Big time. Lol
Lou M I'm sure if you want to do a trade in later your dealer should give you a good deal because you're a return customer. IDK how comfortable you are with removing your headlights but you can paint the inside black.
Hmmmm, yea, im not sure i want to paint. Might consider the overlays for the sides...we'll see. :) Yours lights are sick though....love them.
Niceee! Congrats on finally getting her! Definitely jealous!
Greg DeLuca Thanks Greg!
Alright, I'm having my dealer mount up the rpf1s the day I get it. I'll send some pictures your way
Finally, beautiful car loving the new WRX wheels, congrats.
RealJDM Thanks!!!
Awesome bro - looking forward to seeing more and now I really can't wait to get mine in lol
***** Its worth the wait, I promise! :)
It's funny - you mention about the reverse being in a different location. Reminded me of this one time I had to drive a 2 1/2 ton truck in the army and scared the shit out of a bunch of people that were hanging out behind me - the reverse is all the way to the left and up, no lock out so... :(
Alex we are desperately awaiting your follow up vids bro lol
***** They are in the works lol I wanted to wait until the 1000 mile break in before my next video so I can do a reaction about the performance. Have about 400 more miles to go lol
Nothing like pressure lol. Need my fix and 2016 vids are lacking. I was told to expect August sometime for mine to come in.
Thanks for the review. I'm picking mine up today! I'm in oz, so my steering wheel is on the correct side! Lol
Still have about a year left with student loans:(.
ayalas1978 The dreaded student loans lol A WRX will be a nice present to yourself once you pay it off.
You can get a base WRX for $24,8XX. Best bang for your buck for sure.
Tim Davidson No offense man but if you granny drive your wrx and you are so worried about mpg you should have just gotten a kia lol
Congrats on the new car! I'm 43 and this is my dream car... Hopefully I'll get one soon!
eyean1 Thanks! I hope you do! Im planning making a video about how this generation is attracting a lot older buyers. Most people I see on youtube other forms of social media with these cars seem to be 30-50. I think its great because I wanted a somewhat "grown up" car.
Beautiful WRX man, congratz!
Streetbikechamp Thanks!!!
Have to time it just right (selling my
Old one just before the new one arrives)
Keith Celia The WRB is the only color I like with the base wheels. Somethin about the black/blue color combo really pops. Congrats on your order. Ever think about keeping the 03 as a grocery getter? lol
Picked up my 2017 WRX Limited last week same color as yours... Was there a cover on your hood coz i didnt see the hood scoop
170 haters that are mad they can not get one lol
John C Thanks! Ill have a video coming soon about why I chose a WRX over and STi. Stay tuned :)
BEEN WAITING ON THIS VID!
TroobAdoreMusic Hope it was worth the wait!
My first impression is really really super happy, hate some but really like a few super things.
Don't you just love it! I love it. LOVE it!
Matt Stringham I LOVE IT! lol
Love the way you reply to the positive and ignore the negative comments. How is it after after this much time?
Trading it in for a STi... I should have a video out sooner than later explaining why.
can you explain why now, i gotta buy a wrx/sti soon!!!
Chrisstian Thanks! You are one of the rare Blurple STi owners lol very rare color.
Alex Grace Haha yep I don't see many in blurple. :))
+Chrisstian The only reason why I'm trading up is because the dealership made me an offer that, really, would be silly to refuse.
Thanks for the info clarification and quick response. Look forward to more videos! :D
Exactly what I'm going to get only mine will be WR Blue
Bryan Doherty Same here, WRB or DGM I'm having a tough time deciding lol
***** I had a hard time deciding too until I saw a WRB WRX in the showroom.
I ended up buying the 16 STi in WRB :D
***** +Bryan Doherty So I went to Subaru this week for the 1000 mile check in and saw a WRB in person for the first time. If the day ever come where I trade my car in I will get the WRB. Absolutely stunning in person.
***** im staying away from the STI till they switch the motor over to the direct injection :)
I did the same thing traded in My BRZ for a 2015 WRX best decision i ever made
how long did it take the car to come in, i just ordered mine on the 7th and needless to say im anxious. and after reading the comments glad i ordered the WR blue
Michael Lauffer Absolutely beautiful in person! Took about 6 weeks from order to delivery. Congrats on your order!!!
Thanks for the info Alex !
congrats mate!
Doesn't look purple in the shade like the Galaxy did.
thanks for sharing hope you stay content with your car.
But drove a wrx and love it , I'm really stoke to get it in a couple of months !
nice video !!! im getting mine tomorrow
How is getting into reverse in yours? My takes a little more effort to get in..I have 2016 LBP Premium, its my first WRX but had many manuals, and none have been as hard to get in reverse as this one. It doesn't grind, just takes more effort than I have ever experienced.
Steve Royal Its definitely tougher than any other gear to get into. Might get better over time, or my forearm will get stronger lol
Congrats man. Take good care of her! I am really considering trading my BRZ for a '16 WRX Limited. Looking forward for more video updates on the car, mods, installs and etc.
JustDriftIt Thanks! The brz is more fun to drive but the wrx is a better daily. Either way good luck!
Keep the videos coming. Really enjoyed your reaction (like a schoolgirl lol...I will react the exact same way when I go to pick up mine and I'm 43 years old lol)
Keith Celia lol Thanks. My fiancé was there the whole time and she kept looking at my like I was stupid haha Congrats on getting a WRX!
Congratulations, Alex!!!!
HERI HAO Thank you!
Congrat! So I'm assuming you got the Package 22 option right?
Alvin Law Yup, that's the one
Enjoy that beast of a machine :D
my man please go to credit union. they have first time buyer program. dont go to dealer for finance
+Dextah I'm 19, my credit history is extremely short (only a year since I have my credit card) and I still was approved for financing a 2015 Genesis coupe.
+Alexandre Boucher yes anyone can get approved. but not anyone can get the best rate for u. u never have to put money down, thats how the dealer makes there commision. just shop around credit union to refinance the car for better rate and terms
gratz man I'm getting the cvt limited this week same color
Ray Garcia Nice! Congrats! Its one on the best CVT's on the market.
I'm getting a white 2016 cvt limited end of August. Being built now. Can't wait
What did you pay Ray? I don't care about msrp. I paid $30,000 exactly plus tax
I'm sold on this car, will definitely look into buying one It was love at first sight.. I owe $2100 on my current vehicle which I intend on paying off tomorrow then its shopping time!
+dalvarez152 Nice!! Hope it works out for ya!
I like the wheels on the 15 WRX a little more. The side mirror turn signals are nice but I could take them or leave em
gnarkilleptic I like the spoke pattern of the 15 more, just thought they were too small.
O the '16's are bigger? I didnt know
Hey, I was just wondering if you could explain a bit more why you shouldn't go over 4000 RPM in a new car?
Thanks.
Hey I started watching your videos I love the wrx I'm getting one also soon I'm so excited
Brandon Perez Thank you! You're gonna love it!
I have the same 2016 and the same color. The only thing I hate is the 1,000 break in.
Dude fuck it
+Jimmy Lai What's the 1,000 break in?
+Th3Fizzle Subaru recommend's to keep the rpm below 4k till you reach 1,000 miles for the engine to break in. So no going fast for the first 1000 miles haha.
+Th3Fizzle - Yeah, what McLovin said. Basically, baby it for the first 1,000 miles.
I have my car on order, when did you place your order and how long after that did you get your vin? I can't wait!
***** Placed my order mid may. Subaru gave me an ETA of the last week of july. About a month later I received my VIN and a new ETA of July 9th. Then the car arrived July 3rd!
Alex Grace got my vin number this weekend! Don't have an exact date yet though :/. Hoping I'm in the final stretch.
That first shot of your car WRX where is the airscoop in the bonnet
+stupest under the plastic
Good job! Congrats! I will be screaming like bitch when I get my 2017 WRX lol.
DigitalErra I wonder what changes Subaru has in store for '17. :) Im excited to find out!
That "fake carbon fiber" isn't fake at all. If you were to pry out the carbon fiber, you'll see on the back that is actual fiber made material.
***** Subaru themselves said the carbon fiber was fake, its a "faux" look
+val sve Its funny how dead wrong people can be yet they still believe whatever is in their head. You can tell that shit is fake from a mile away. Real Carbon fiber has depth and actual bloody fibers not printed silver squares smh.
You said you miss the boxer rumble, you do realize the WRX has the same boxer just turbocharged
Euge Lymbers - The 2014 and older had a 2.5L
congrats why didnt u go with the blue?
Mark r I just love white cars with black accents.
I'm on my way tomorrow to trade-in my 2013 Plasma WRX hatchback for a 2016 WR Blue WRX Premium. :)
Late but congrats on the WRX!
+White Wing STI Congrats on the STi! lol
+Alex Grace Thanks!
I thought reverse is far right next to 6th gear while holding the lock up? pretty sure of it.
+viper2788 You're correct. Most 6-speeds I have driven have had reverse around 1st gear. That's how it is in the brz too.
when a car rolls it's not indicative of flex
Congrats on the car, I've got a 2015 STI. FYI though the "fake" carbon fiber is actually real on the 15's.
Steven Stroud Thanks! People keep saying that its real but when I look close I don't see fibers. It looks like paint. Idk
They did a great job on it. You have to pull it off and look on the back. Enjoy the car. Get a cobb access port. It's an amazing addition.
Congrats on the wrx
BigRich 2006 Thank you!!!
Congrats!!
Antonio Vidarte Thanks!!!
What was the final cost for the top of the line wrx? Why didn't you just opt for sti? Did you trade in your brz?
Andrew Salas Didn't trade the brz. MSRP for mine was $34,290. The wrx just fit my life better
Love my blue WRX....grats on yours.....
+SJLGG Thank you! My next Subaru will be WRB lol
wish Crosstrek came with the engine but oh well.....
Thanks! Now the tires are wider (245) and if you are not listening, they are probably better canceling the road noise
I GET MY 2016 WRX THIS SATURDAY I CANT FUCKING WAIT...
What kind of Oldsmobile did you give back?
dude you need to relax.
+Jeffrey Paguio 11-14 was my favorite year as far as looks. I do miss my 2011
Hi, is your limited came with keyless access & push start button ? or you have to include that package seperate?
alitcha You have to add it.
The dash is real CF
I'm getting ready to buy one what did you pay
I love my 13 Legacy 3.6 R limited its a WRX Town car!
cobra454tim If they made a manual I would have considered getting one! I would love to get my hands on one to do a review some day. Seem like a pretty awesome car.
How much you pay for it? d you Buy it cash or payments?
You can do payments but its 500+ a month
Opie Taylor gets a WRX. BTW, nobody that dresses like you do should critique the looks of anything.
Why so many haters, this world is bizarre
hey how much for the prices im kinda interesting in buying one too
+d kash Depending on the options anywhere from 26K up to 34K for the wrx. 35-41k for the STi. The Subaru website has a great tool for building your own car and getting a price. Good luck!
Alex,
I am surprised that the dealership would hand over the car to you still wrapped in plastic etc. Would seem better if they got the car preped before you picked it up
Did you opt4 the STi Sport Pkg w/STi exhaust, sport shifter, etc?
+Coupydog For me, it wasn't worth it. I didn't like the wheels that came with the package. Also, the exhaust wasn't loud enough for me taste. I will be getting a short shifter in the future but I'm not sure if I will get the whole assembly or just the perrin shifter adapter.
+Alex Grace Hi Alex, I agree 100%. Plus for the cost, the slight difference in sound doesn't cut it. Better off putting that $$ twds an aftermarket Flowmaster or other reputable Cat Back System!
Did it come with the eye sight system or were you able to skip that option and still keep with push start
gunracersr The eyesight only comes with the CVT. But you are paying for it too. Nav package on mine was 3100 but with a CVT the Nav package is over 4000 because of the extra safety tech. And I don't think you can get the package without it. Hope this answered your question.
