      I bought a 2024 manual transmission Nissan Versa in August. By getting the manual transmission, you avoid the CVT worry. I just got home from my first road trip, put over 1200 miles on it on this trip. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and capable it was on the freeway. The only negative I can say was that when you are directly behind a semi, at highway speed, the car does get buffeted around a little bit - nothing scary. Just don't tailgate semis. After this trip, my overall average is 44.6 MPG. It was a very relaxing car to drive, even through construction zones. The small size and ease of maneuvering is much nicer than my F150 with an 8 ft bed. LOL

    Bought one in 2014 for like $10,900 new with a/t. a/c and heat. used it daily heavily it now has 210,000 miles. In 10 years of ownership maintenance was done once a year for oil change and inspection $19.99. Over the years the only things that were replaced was fan belt $60, brakes $150, spark plugs $15, air filter $20, trans fluids $65. I don’t spend a lot on maintenance. insurance is like $45/month. great car to run. Plus mitsubishi’s 160,000 miles 10 year warranty is insane. I can sell this on marketplace today for $6000 anytime.

    You know up to 2019 they sold a Nissan Micra in Canada that started at 9995 dollars BRAND NEW. This mirage made zero sense for us back then, since the Micra was way more enjoyable to drive and it had 4 whole cylinders instead of the 3 clackity clack pistons on the mirage. It had reasonable real horsepower too

    The only problems i find with the mirage.
    If the mirage we had was a manual, i would have enjoyed it at least given the impressive MPG of the car however i detest it due to the reason follows.
    Dies on idle or on times where it is very inconvenient. Middle of the road or on a parking lot.
    Mirror visibility is less ideal. The shapes just makes it hard to see whatever is beside me giving me less confident trying to actually turn right.
    The steering wheel position and it not being telescopic is just not great. I am average size and it doesn’t boost confidence’s turning. The larger circumference of the steering wheel doesn’t help either making one handed or even two handed turns feel like i need to wrestle the wheel.
    CVT being painful to even drive at low speeds as i always feel it slipping and trying to bite on lower gear as if the person doesn’t even know how to shift… i hate that feeling.
    It being a CVT. If there are smoother and better CVT, i might appreciate it but first time feeling this sort of transmission gave me a headache every time i try to even drive it from low speed.
    The car has issues and it is brand new. This car being the first new i3 model of 2024, I am hoping a recall would happen cause i thoroughly dislike how it handles itself

    • @extralock1045
      @extralock1045 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Weird! I've never had my Mirage die.. Yours was broken I think. I have a 2024 Mirage, and currently have 30,768 miles on it, and it has had no issues.. I say that as it's in the shop for a light bulb needing replaced for the shifter.
      The CVT might feel clunky, but you also have to adjust how you press the gas pedal. It sounds like you just jab the gas. Try to push the throttle in slow, let it "shift" around 10 or 15 MPH, then give it more throttle. It will feel less odd. It's not broken at all, that's just how it is. But your engine should not die.. Take it in for service.

      @@extralock1045 I have only 1000km on the odometer of my car. I just got it this year 5th of the month. It is the newest one being 2024. Defective i suppose as Mitsubishi’s quality control has never been all that great this past few years ever since they discontinued much of their sports cars. I have been at the dealership to get the oil changed and they told me to just keep driving it until i hit 1800, and if it still dies on idle or while driving they will check onto it. I would say that it is either the ECU not being tuned, There is a defect with the 3 cylinder or it is a feature which i doubt. Even my mother was perplexed as we both drove it and experience it shutting off in the middle of the road or just idling while parked. It being broken at just 200km on the odometer just says that the quality of the car is not great. I also hear strange noises on idle where the car just sits there as if it was 6 years old even though i got it straight from the dealership with 0km on the odometer
      I am very used to driving a manual and often i just heel toe on downshifts to maximize smooth gear transitions. I often make sure i am as smooth as possible. I have been driving manuals for 7 years. I usually drive on bumper to bumper traffic due to my countries size. The mirage feels rough at low speed 10kph to 20kph just jolts the car when it tried to shift and that was me slowly stepping on the gas pedal. I tried my best to ease stepping on the gas pedal and every time it keeps on slipping/shifting suddenly. It also struggles to keep up with trying to merge towards traffic as i would need to step onto the gas just to hit 80kph.
      Since my car is almost at 1800km, i hope that they either fix the problem or replace it cause it is giving me a headache for a brand new car. First new car i had was a Hyundai accent 1.4L manual. Not a single problem from factory till 6 years. I had to sell it cause i wanted to buy something new and now the new one is giving me a headache my old one never gave me.
