    I am by no mean a professional mechanic, please correct me if i'm doing something wrong.
    Sorry for my poor English .
    I hope you enjoy.
    Thanks for watching.

    Hey, thats really crusty machine :D I paid 6,5k for mine, one of the drive motors was not functioning(luckly that was a easy 250€ fix, by replacing the seals) the bobtach pins and pushings were about to fall off... but i managed to fix them with some 100€ investments. Looking forward to you restoring this old rustbucket :D You know what Andrew said.... "put some paint on it and it will look like it was just painted"

      Ahah thanks for watching, i'll try to film the rest ! You did well managing the cost down, I don't wanna count too much but I think i'm close to what you paid now. Next on the list is bucket and rear door, the leaking seals will have to wait, there is still enough oil to lub the chain for now. The paint job is definitely on the list ! Classic AC quote right here ahah

    Pour voir si les cylindres sont usés,mets un peu d'huile après un test de compression à sec,si il y a une grosse différence sec /huilé tu le verras,même avec un manomètre aussi peu précis qui fuit.
    Tu devrais absolument éviter de mettre les mains autour d'un moteur qui tourne,en particulier en tenant un chiffon,à moins de vouloir perdre une main ou un bras.
    "Sorry for my poor english" haha elle est bonne, c'est pas le pire que j'ai entendu.
    C'est toi qui tient le drapeau de L'ipev sur la photo ?

      @BaguetteWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Salut, merci pour l'astuce de l'atf je ne connaissais pas. Mon problème de fumée a été résolu ce n'était pas un problème d'arrivée de gasoil mais une bourde de ma part ! Je montre ça dans la prochaine partie, j'ai quasiment fini le montage.
      Oui tu as raison pour les mains, on ne se rend pas compte jusqu'à se qu'on se fasse avoir. Oui mon test aurait été mieux avec un peu d'huile mais là c'est vraiment l'appareil qui a un énorme fuite :(
      Oui pour la photo, vache tu as trouvé ça où !

      Les testeurs de compression cylindre ont un clapet antiretour,le tient ne fonctionne pas bien ,car il relâche partiellement la pression.
      Il doit être sale ou grippé,tu peux nettoyer c'est entre le mano et la durite souple là où il y a le bouton de vidage d'air.
      T'as un pull sur lequel c'est écrit en gros dessus,et j'ai google à la maison haha.
      Tu devrais régler le jeu aux soupapes,c'est très souvent pas fait sur les moteurs.

    • @BaguetteWorkshop

    Compression should be above 33 BAR / 480psi. Pop test of injectors looked ok. Chain case being empty was the tell tale of failed seals. Pressure test coolant system to identify radiator, water jacket, or head gasket issues which can cause smoking. Get the proper size belt and test charging system. FYI if radiator overflow tank was bad I’d check the water pump the next time you run the motor to ensure it is moving coolant throughout the engine. If it continues to smoke and there is a noticeable loss of power new piston rings and valves could restore compression.

    Hey so a friend of mine has a get-away property in france in the mountains where we use the exact same machine, its in better condition but its still pretty bad and could really do with a compleete rebuild
    untill then ive slowly been fixing it over the course of 3 years, but its a slow process since we only go there 1 or 2 weeks at a time 3 times a year, not to mention when we're there we constantly need the machine so i cant dig in it too deep,
    tho ive been able to fix one of the pins for locking the attachment, wich would often not lock
    ive also made it so it can be shut off from inside the cab again (for a long time you had to walk to the back of the machine and pull a metal wire sticking out of the door, pretty sketchy since the machine likes to crawl forward). Since the old cable was broken and i could not find a replacement i used a choke cable for a citroen mehari
    Last time i went there i got the wiring for the gauges to work so at least now we have a volt meter, hope to get the fuel and temp gauge working again as well tho, rn we just pour a few liters of diesel at random intervals
    Also that temp gauge would be real great cuz its leaking coolant, well..., water and there have been several instances of the engine overheating and blowing out a freeze plug wich is a pain to put back

    • @BaguetteWorkshop
      @BaguetteWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My shut off cable wasn't working either, i've replaced it with a standard one from amazon for 8 bucks ;) Good luck with your restoration !

      Oh hello there ! Yes I know, I wish i was in the us. The skid steer market here is basically not existant. I've checked the prices since and it was definately the cheapest including the repairs. It looks like shit but it does the job. I have a sandblaster, one day it will look good but the priority is the house. Cheers !

    22 bar is roughly 300 psi. It looked like you had about 250 psi on the video which is too low. I think the rings may be worn from
    poor air filter/dust.

    • @BaguetteWorkshop
      @BaguetteWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply! I since found my big smoke issue, runs sweet now. It wasn't a compression issue but rather my fault, i'll show the details in the part 2 coming soon. I think the poor values is mostly due to a leaking gauge. Cheers

    So sorry my guy I would go no more than 3000 US Your looking at an engine rebuilt kit at a minimum . I would send your injectors out for cleaning ,, luckily the engine kit comes with all the things you will need.
    I have no idea wear you would find the counter weight and I bet it's super expensive. Your pressure test concluded it for me the first cylinder was 15 bar the second was 18 and 20 on the last two.
    I hope your planning on keeping this unit cause if you plan on a resale. You will never recoup what your going to have to put into it out of it except if it's for your use. One other way to tell you it's your rings and sleeves would be to see how much blow by or smoke comes out while the motor is running and the oil filling cap is off. if you see smoke order the engine rebuilt kit and from the looks of that head gasket in your shop I bet your more than capable of the task. good luck and I'll be waiting for your next video.

    What kind of flatbed truck is that!!? And how much weight can put on it!!?

    • @BaguetteWorkshop
      @BaguetteWorkshop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a Renault Master B90 tipping bed truck. The vehicule can handle 5500pounds (2T5) but only 2200 by law. Usually people put trailers to move equipment but they are really expensive here in europe. They are not fast but they get the job done. It's really the light go-to construction worker truck in EU, we don't have big pickup able the tow massive loads.
