- The 1993 Ford Mustang GT convertible project returned from the paint shop, and it is time to put it all back together. In addition to reassembly, there is a few things that need attention after 30 years on the road. The transmission leak, exhaust leaks, window motor, power top and door locks had nothing to do with the accident, but things break, and someone has been here before, so we have some work to do.

Looks great Scott! That AC switch went out on mine and I totally didn't replace the O ring. It leaked everything out in a couple of days and took me a while to figure it out! 😂

Is a whining A/C compressor on a ‘04 grand am a bad bearing? The A/C blows cold still. The engine gets bogged down a bit at idle when the compressor kicks in
Nice job. The car is coming together nicely. I don't know about that pizza girl. If she doesn't bring pizza can she really be a pizza girl? She does lend a hand when needed so I guess she is a keeper. Hats off to the fellow Lube Tuber for lending a shop.

It’s the way they all did things back then, before the days of clip to assemble cars. 😂
This should be a really nice car. Scott, is this a customer build, a build to sell or a car you'll hold on to for awhile?
19:35 I was wondering if they addressed the problem with the 88+ versions. If you lift the handle you can slide a screwdriver under the handle, through that opening and push the lock/latch open. A flat blade works best, from what I've been "told" of course.

The S550s are the real problems but you still have to mess with the Ford fans!
My Father had a '79 Fox Body Mustang, white, 4 cylinder, automatic, I was 19 years old at the time, I'm 64 years old now.
I have a white 86 you could rebuild! 😂

When I was in High School in the mid 70’s I helped my Autoshop Teacher restore a 65, and then a 67 Mustang for two of his sons. But having seen your White Mustang and the fact that I’m 64 years old now, I think that car is beyond my capability. But thanks to your videos, I at least know what to watch out for while I cruise CoPart on line. Thank You.

C4s had soooo many phillips screws everywhere and never mind the 100 nuts for the rear bumper. 😂
Question ~ The Mustang GT, being a 1993 model, did you use R-12 when refilling the A/C, or the newer R-134a charge?

My wife explains that a strategy to help with my ADD is to make lists. I accept that sometimes, yes, we need milk and not a car trailer made from a VW Beetle. I further accept that said trailer was effectively scrap and we don't have a vehicle with a tow bar. But there is freedom in letting random chance dictate what comes out the box next.

Yes, gears all around. It was the latest tech back then! 😂
@@vehcor I don't remember ever having to replace any tracks or gears in the windows, just motors and switches. I've had to do two in my F150 so far.

Plastic likes to split? And screws strip, bolts, body and frame rot . Paint peals. Engines explode. Trannies tear up. Steering shimmy . Tops tear. Door handles destruct. Brakes break. Lights out. Wipers wipe out. Heaters don’t. Sounds of silence radios. Starters stop. And so on, etc., … commenters please fill in what I forgot.

This is one of my petpeeves. Windows. Specifically, Frameless Windows. Specifically specifically power frameless windows.
I love them, but in the 80s and onward they flop. A lot. They also dont go up and down in a nice smooth way like they did in the 70s, at least for Ford. GM seemed a bit better in the 80s. Also, these regulators just dont like moving up fast enough. Could be voltage with the car off, but likely weak chinesium replacements (unless you have a stash of NOS ones like I do for my Continentals lol)
But, what bugs me probably the most, is expectations, and a philosophical waxing and waning of getting old. I remember these new, unlike 50s, 60s, 70s cars that were used cars when I got my hands on them. So...yeah, sucks that we chase our youth, and like these cars when they were brand new, theyll never be the same way....
But, you accept it, do a burnout and move on. (or stay in place. Its a burnout after all!)

I thought there were not many left but it seems like there is a never ending supply. Finding one that hasn’t been hacked up is the struggle.

Fixing plastic, use Super glue and Baking soda, its a hundred times better then epoxy. Glue piece together let dry, add superglue and baking soda around the edges and let dry works every time.
Think of all the crowds that will be saved, guys!

EVERY convertible owner uses the AC (or heat) to have the top down when the weather is a wee bit beyond ultra-comfort.

The wires into the door were for added keyless entry or alarm for the locks. Should have been a couple of relays inside the car.

I put LX tail lights in my 91 GT. Never cared for the GT tail lights. Car is turning out great! I’m really liking it! My grandson asked, Is that a Wolf when he seen your shepherd. No son, that’s a Dog. I don’t think I convinced him! 😂
