    WHAT IS BURNOUT:
Burnout is what happens when you try to avoid being a human for too long. Burnout is a state of emotional, physical and mental exhaustion cause by excessive and prolonged stress.
The term burnout was originally coined by nasa to describe a rocket which is out of fuel. Gravitational forces mean that i’s still moving but it’s essentially useless.
    IS BURNOUT STRESS:
Not really, stress is a high energy state in which everything is go go go. It’s caused by a lack of control so your working harder and harder to meet demand.
Burnout on the other hand is a low energy state, you have ran out of energy to do anything, you’re going through motions and feel demotivated and you may feel your work is meaningless
    SYMPTOMS OF BURNOUT:
Burnout is characterised by 3 main features. Exhaustion and fatigue: the extreme fatigue felt by someone who has been stressed for a very long time. This can present as a complete inability to get out of bed or extreme lethargy. Your get-up-and-go has got-up-and gone!
Perceived or actual poor performance. People suffering from burnout often feel that their performance is suffering. If the burnout isn’t recognised and treated, perception often becomes a reality.
And Depersonalisation. This characteristically presents as cynicism and lack of empathy. So lets say for example you’re a healthcare professional - This may mean that you begin treating patients as ‘objects’.
These 3 features can lead to the many symptoms and signs of burnout; which include anxiety, insomnia, headaches, other physical illnesses, feelings of lack of purpose, little interest in work and a dread of going to work, among many others.
HOW BAD IS BURNOUT FOR YOUR BODY:
In burnout, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis which releases cortisol is put into turmoil. Cortisol is one of the stress hormones released when we perceive a threat for example an imminent attack by a bear, or perhaps a complaint about you
Now In a normally-functioning HPA axis, once the threat has gone, the cortisol drops off and returns to normal. However, under prolonged stress, we operate under increasing levels of cortisol which never return to normal.
The body responds by eventually down regulating cortisol production to abnormally low levels, and we may experience a state of hypocortisolism, where we have literally burned out our stress-response system.
And As we know from our endocrine patients, hypocortisolism produces low-grade inflammation which brings many health problems, including coronary heart disease.
    BURNOUT TEST:
If you find yourself exhausted, regularly dreading going to work and think that your performance is suffering so any of the symptoms we discussed then alarm bells should start to go off. Here's an online burnout test you can do: questionnaires...
    BULDING RESILIANCE:
Reset your life and build resilience, resilience is the process of adapting well in face of adversity, it means bouncing back from difficult experiences. This is something that is unique to you and I would strongly recommend that you read the following article for more advice: www.independen...

What is hard for some of us to remember sometimes is that you don't live to work! If a job starts to hinder you in a negative way then a change is needed. I've been battling this myself - I've lost motivation for the things I was so passionate about, always tired no matter how much sleep I got, just want to stay in bed, isolated myself from friends, and feel so stuck. When I drive to work my anxiety skyrockets and I have this negative feeling in my gut but when I leave work I feel a little less tense. I know change is scary sometimes and the fear of the unknown for leaving your job lingers - but remember you have only one life to live and no job is worth you having a negative outlook in life or yourself. Sending positive vibes and love to all of you!

The thing for me is that every job seems overly stressful nowadays, because business owners don't want to put enough staff on. So I end up doing two job positions instead of one (and my main job position takes up most of the day if they want me to follow all of the food safety protocols). The only solution seems to either be to work in an incredibly boring job (but the same problem would likely emerge), or work for myself.

I definitely have suffered burnout for a number of years now and it is quite deeply entrenched. I tried to believe it was chronic fatigue, cortisol issues, low testosterone, etc etc. Anything but burnout because if I admitted burnout then I'd have to face the fact that my job is slowly killing me and ruining my life, but I'm the primary money maker so I'm stuck in a Catch-22.

Also there's one thing I did not see in this video and that is from my own personal experience and talking to so many other people from so many different fields is straight loneliness! If your job has you not in contact with other humans Burberry and especially physically (meaning being around another human) for a certain period of time it amplifies the feeling of burnout or in my case it started the feeling of burnout. The next part is loneliness in the personal life... A lot of people do find the perfect mixture of work and personal life but then they come to the realization that they're personal life is too lonely and they wonder why they are doing whatever they're doing for work! So even though this video is great and it puts out a lot of cool and common and the guy giving the video is very optimistic sounding there's a lot more to burn out than three little factors

That's hard to do if the cause is family that you have no choice but to live with. I see them every day and they refuse to leave me alone or my boundaries. I can't even show I'm in a bad mood or else "I'm ruining the vibe" and how my mood effects theirs. I shouldn't be the mood regulator of everyone, it's not fair. I don't want to be present amongst toxic people that cause drama for the heck of it...I'm just so tired.

Was thinking about hurting myself/worse every day because of leaving burnout for over 2 years. I had to quit, riding out my 2 weeks now and hoping the light is brighter on the other side.
But tbh, I feel useless, lazy, and like my work will never be good enough to get me another job.

This is my 2nd. time experiencing burn out from a social work/human services type job. I think I'm going to look into other jobs or learning some type of trade. I personally find it difficult to take time off due to increased work load/case load over the last several years. One time I took time off due to exhaustion and my coworkers were covering my caseload while I was off work. I get that they had their own caseload, but when I returned to work, I was so far behind on paperwork that I felt like my only option was to quit.

@@AbrahamThePharmacist The weird thing is when you are going through burnout and you’re experiencing all the symptoms, you are in denial about it. And you think that it’s your fault, you are lazy…and all the guilt associated with letting your family and colleagues down. When I burnt out, it felt like ‘something in me had been damaged beyond repair’. That was a scary feeling and thought. It took me 6 weeks to decompress. I don’t ever want to go through that again. I need to put guardrails in place to prevent this.

I have been lazy throughout my teen years but as i became an engineering college student i had to really change myself and start to work for long hours for a long period . I started feeling very low after few months ,at first i thought it was due to my laziness so pushed through , i started loosing hairs my confidence was gone, left my passion, somedays i just laid in the bed till the evening, i never considered to seek help and never imagined to get depressed bcz i am always known to be a hyper active clumsy person, very talkative and laughing at every silly joke. all of that stopped. it went for a while but i slowly figured out a lifestyle that finally works wonder.
    1) MEDITATE (20 mins early in the morning and before you sleep.)
    2) EXERCISE (5days per week)
    3) EAT CLEAN (eat oily fish, nuts , and citrus fruits)
    4) LISTEN TO MELODIC SONGS AND WATCH GOOD MOVIES .
    5) TAKE A DAY OFF IN A WEEK
    6) TAKE COLD SHOWERS
    7) PLAN YOUR WORK , DON'T LET IT PILE UP.
    8) START LISTENING TO SADHGURU IN YOUR FREE TIME

I'm about 93% sure that I got Burnt-out from working, not only cause of the sometimes annoying Supervisor I'd get, but also because I had an 8 hour per day job with 1 to 2 days off per week, some days I'd have a day off and a few hours after I'd wake up, I'd get a call from work that they need help, so I'd end up going to work on most days off including working 16 days straight in fast food, I just didn't realize until a few weeks ago that over a year ago when I quit that it actually burnt me out mentally working where I was working

I’ve gone on a silent retreat, I rested a lot and was outside my routine, and no one was around. You can do this by going away to a quiet place, turn off the phone. Reading can help if it’s a somewhat related to personal development or self improvement.
If you recognize God or not He will be there too, it’s in silence and peace that he heals and refreshes.

So is this burnout? I thought I was becoming lazy and lazier overtime. It feels like I don't have the energy to the things I usually love doing in the past such as gaming, hanging out with friends and others. I am a Filipino former senior highschool student. It all started with this pandemic where schools are close. We switch from traditional face to face into online distance learning. Basically, our teachers are supposedly monitoring our progress online to study meanwhile they distribute a booklet of questionaire, test papers, activity instruction, and other school related works which we call module. we often recieve 15-25 modules worth of 5-6 subject. We are supposed to answer that thing and send our answer to the school at the end of the week. After that, we get another batch of modules which we need to answer and submit at the end of the week. And the cycle repeats itself. It's really ironic that we call it online distance learning but no there's no online interaction with teachers and students via zoom. They only contact us through messenger and google class to inform us what activities are we missing. They don't teach us, they just send this and that. A link from TH-cam, a PDF file of a book or any other references materials containing our lessons. The studying is ours all and all. It's honestly overwhelming specially doing the job alone with little to no reward at all. This cycle of stress, no reward activities drives me to be lazy and lazier to do the studying. I became dependent to my classmates to answer it and just ask if I can copy them and thats really sad. I became really lazy, in fact so lazy that I stop doing the things I usually enjoy doing such as gaming, drawing, playing guitar, watching anime and kdrama, or even a simple household chores. One time, my parent told me I became extremely lazy that I just locked myself in my dark cave like room. my speech pattern is becoming so slow that I can't even talk fluently even with my own dialect, I can't express myself... My mind even think of very sinister action and I constantly thought about suicide and actually attempted doing it but I stopped with a fear that my parent caught me. That's when I realize there's something wrong with me. I first thought I was depressed and allegedly thought the trigger was the lost of contact with my friends face to face. But I was wrong. Usually, the description of depression described on youtube is different that's why I constantly searching of what I am really feeling. I am really confused about myself right now. Until I saw this Video. Now I learned I'm having burnout. Still I don't find this helpful in treating myself.

Literally do not have a life. I have not been in this type of rut in so long. I don't eat, shower, or do anything. All I do is sit and play video games 12-13 hours a day. I am potentially failing a class and all my other classes gpa's are a lot lower than wanted. I am doomed.
