    Thank you Angus.
This was the greatest rock & roll band in history at the top of their game. An absolute powerhouse, something very special. I’m surprised that by the summer of ‘79 any other band would appear with them. They blew headlining acts like Nugent and Aerosmith off the stage touring the Powerage album with some of the soon to be released H to H album thrown in. There were no ballads, no Bic lighter waving songs, this was a 60 minute punch in the face of pure rock and roll energy from a band that knew what they were doing.
If you saw them in ‘79, you know what I mean.

I'm now 63 years old. At the age of 19 I travelled from Adelaide to Melbourne to attend that concert. This really was AC/DC at their finest. They pumped energy. No band could match it - not then, not now. They were unique. They stormed the global stage, and laid siege to a music industry unprepared for these brash, Aussie ruffians - a no-compromise, high-tension, power house of rock. No wonder they conquered the world.

@@cocob0639 Kirk Hammet's most famous solos are pretty garbage, to be honest. Lackluster repeating patterns of hammer-ons and pull-offs plus a wah pedal to make them sound cooler. If you wanna bring up someone more technically impressive, Dave Mustaine is a much better example. Also, neither Kirk nor Mustaine are even Rock n' roll guitarists. Slash is to a certain degree, and though his solos are more technically impressive, that was also not the metric specified. "Best" is a very subjective term when no specific metric is applied, so it is a fair assessment to say that Angus does have the "best" solos in rock n' roll.

One of those bands where the sum of the parts is far greater than simply the individuals involved. Absolutely brilliant. I know I'll draw some criticism, but they were never as good after Bon died. Not just for his stage presence, but his contribution to their song writing. No accident that Back in Black was their greatest album, because there's no doubt he helped write most of it.

@@hughmcinally907 Their music lost an edge after Back In Black. I think Johnson did a great job picking up the pieces but the raw energy and uncompromising sleaze died with Bon.

Sorry Hugh, but I'm fairly certain they didn't use any of Bon's material for Back in Black.
Heard it in an interview with band members.

@@alanstrom2221 If you read the book Maximum Rock and Roll everyone agrees that Brian Johnson was responsible for his part on Back In Black... Bon Scott had nothing to do with it. Basically everyone was responsible for their part with Malcolm sort of having final say if it was good enough or needed work... and of course Mutt Lange really crafting the production.
