This was not really a concert, for those wondering about the lack of audience participation. It was actually part of an Atlantic Record convention. I have a promotional copy of PowerAge, stamped on the cover. The band was promoting their new album in Nashville. KDF was Nashville's rock station at the time, on site to cover the event. AC/DC was just on the verge of breaking through in the US. It would have been a real treat to have been one of the (few dozen?) in attendance!
This is obviously the same concert where they did "She's Gone Shootin" & Excellent version! The quiet reserved audience gave it the element of pure power & perfection!
@@smokesletsgo2374 Nashville, back in the 70S was still Country and Western Music City. Not many rock and roll bands would have a stop on their tour here back then
The Announcer/MC..."I think we will have a nice concert"....LOL...Lady, you should have thrown seatbelts and shouted "Strap in honeys for the ride of your lives!!!!"
Agreed. 1978 and Powerage was in my opinion their 'Zenith' as a band. I saw them at Liverpool Empire UK in the May of that same year. Their UK set list was similar but they opened with Riff Raff instead of Live Wire. Powerage was the last Studio Album produced by Vanda & Young before they handed over the reins to Mutt Lange, presumably to gain a more stylized and commercial product? Personally I prefer the rawness of the earlier albums.
I agree bon songs are true rock in roll lyrics. Just just the best raw ROCK/ROLL in your face. LEGENDS. IM 68 MY GRANDSON LOVES THEM.I SEEN THEM IN 1979 IN CINCINNATI WITH TED NUGET.ABOUT A HOUR OR SO.THEY SUCK ALL THE ENERGY OUT OF TH E PLACE.WHAT A SHOW BON, ANGUS,MALCOM ONE IN A BIILION OF YEARS COMBANATION. GREAT TO HAD THE CHANCE SEE THEM.😊😊
If they could have performed Down Payment Blues, we would have a pristine live recording of one of the best Powerage songs, fortunately Gone Shootin' was captured by Bon Scott & the Volts! 🎼🎸☇🎤🤘
Saw them twice with Bon... Amazing. I've also seen them 2-3x with Brian and it was cool, but Bon had the voice. I would've loved to have seen them use the lead singer from Krokus instead, after Bon passed.
Thanks! As a fan who saw the band 3 times I really appreciate it! 2 times with Bon. Once With Brian. Again thank you for the great show! Even if it was for recording executive they rocked the shit out of it anyway
What the hell is wrong with the audience? They’re watching one of the greatest live bands ever and it’s like they’re asleep. They had no clue what they were experiencing
Not that I'm an expert, but even from an "audio engineering" stand point, this sounds really great. My browser plugin EQ's default settings usually improve any YT live audio, but in this case it just made everything sound worse. Gotta make a CD/cassette of this to be played on my main equipment.
It's souced form the original reel to reel tape... a lot of dynamics and a great bass sound, the only problem is the drum stereo panning.. it's reversed, but there's nothing that i can do

Now the indifference makes sense! Thanks you for adding that.

AC/DC is the best band!
BON 🎉🎉🎉für immer im ❤
Gone Shooting - amazing! Especially during the solo you can really here Malcolm doing his thing!
His playing is a master class on rhythm guitar. Absolutely flawless.
Best version of this I ever heard!
No one can have a gravelly voice that loud and clear
History…. The genre changed. Even today listening to this defines “toe tapping rock”
One of the best Bon era live recordings Thank you!
AC DC: Rip the stage apart with a killer set
Nashville Audience: Polite applause
The world was not ready for Bon Scott fronted AC/DC, they were in shock. Saying to themselves "what the fuck am I looking at?"

Please see my comment, 3.25.24.
Great audio quality from so far back....
I'm as old as Bon would have been had he survived, I wonder how he'd sound today...
Unlistenable.
He'd never have survived his lifestyle.
He would have sounded phenomenal like Halford does today. He was a real singer.
This is a great recording with the band at its peak. Thank you so much for sharing.
Agreed.

Problem Child has some awesome lyrics and a wicked lead by Angus. Which just sounds incredible.

I don't think the announcer/MC had a clue either. It sounds like she's getting ready to introduce the next Ted speaker!...LOL
See my comment, please. 3.25.24.
That’s crazy 😜
