I made this tonight. It was absolutely AMAZING! It really is the best meat loaf we've ever had. I did add a half tsp of salt and and a half tsp of pepper, other than the extra salt and pepper, I followed your recipe exactly. Thank you for sharing Elvis recipe. YUM!!!
Love a good meatloaf! I make it similar to this but I use Manwich sauce( a seasoned tomato sauce for making sloppy joes) Worchestershire sauce, honey, and hot sauce!! I also put in sausage, Worchestershire sauce, A1 steak sauce, chopped onions and peppers plus the standard ingredients for meatloaf!! Hope you enjoy it!! Emily from Missouri!!!😁😁😁😁
2:44 “woah we’ll just have to go with it.” That made me smile. I’m making this recipe tomorrow, can’t wait. Thank you! 😋 I’ve just discovered your channel and love it. It’s like your mum teaching you how to cook and there’s no unnecessary music. 👍 Not to mention, the conversation after was just lovely.
I’ve made this meatloaf several times since I first watched your video back when you first posted this video. It turns out perfect every time. It’s the best recipe I’ve ever had for making meatloaf.
Winner Winner Meatloaf Dinner! Made this last night. Have a bit left for hot meatloaf sandwiches tonight. I always like how you add the veggies to same pan as your meat. Easy, and the veg cooks in the juices. I used a huge pan so that the carrots were all single layer. So so good. 💚
Thanks Julia, it always makes me smile to know something I've made was enjoyed by someone else. It's such a simple recipe. I guess Elvis was a simple man at home and longed for his mama's cooking!
I'm so glad I've found your channel. I collect cookbooks and now I'm starting to collect cooking channels, LOL. I'm sending this to my daughter. I just sent her your biscuit and pickle & bacon videos. Love your taste tester! God bless.
Hey Linda! We just got back from vacation and I made your baked beans and everyone loved them. Thank you so much for the recipe. My son loves meatloaf. He would love this.
Hey Cricket, I was hoping you would all like them...I try to please but know I can't please everyone. Thanks for getting back with me!!! Love ya, Linda
Hi Linda, I'm from Alabaster, Alabama and I'm a new subscriber. My favorite part of your videos is the humorous banter with your husband. I appreciate your candid, down-to-earth style and your recipes are quintessential country cooking. Have you made chicken and dumplings? I need to look through your videos and see. I've been on a mission to find a recipe that matches my memory of a lady's from church. She only made them when there was a death and we always privately joked that we wished someone else would "go on home to the Lord" so we could get her dumplings, ha ha. Thanks, God bless y'all.
On MY homepage, click on the magnifying glass. When the box opens, type in dumplings and my recipe will come up. You can find any recipe on any persons channel by typing a main noun in the title and hitting enter. Any recipe containing that word will come up for you to choose from (on my home page).... I make flat dumplings not puffy ones. I hope this helps!!! TFW God Bless, Linda
WILL DEFINITELY TRY THIS RECIPE! i I imagine he wanted his meatloaf made like his mother mAde it....maybe that's where the RECIPE ORIGINALLY came from. He just told his cook how to make it like his mothers ;-)
I love meatloaf! Thank you both! Thanks for the vid and recipe! Hands that cook, you are a wonderful laid back person! You make my day! God Bless you and Sam the wonderful taster!
mikemv3, thank you! I'm laid back because there is hardly anything worth the price of anger...don't sweat the small stuff my mom always said. Get your priorities straight and your life right with God. Everything else is elementary. Sam feels the same way. You'll enjoy this version of meatloaf, promise and God Bless!! Linda
Linda, Your Mother knew where to get the life lessons that helped her raise a sweet, gentile, loving daughter. Sam's a such perfect match, I can hear it in his voice. You're both a blessing to me. Take care in this crazy weather everyone seems to be having! Hugs, Love and Prayers as always.
Hi Roxy, My Mom was a very wise woman and I miss her (as we all do that have lost our parents) As we age, priorities change. Most "things" become insignificant except the love and kindness you have for others. No matter how they treat you. It's sometimes not easy but the reward is so great if you keep looking toward the ultimate goal of eternal life with Jesus. I would be nothing, my life would mean nothing, my existence period, would mean nothing if there was a void inside me that wasn't filled by Jesus. He gives us all purpose and without that, what is there to live towards? There is a forward position for each and every one of us. It isn't about how much you have, how big your home is, what kind of fancy car you drive or the influential friends you've acquired. All of that means nothing in heaven. But, God knows our hearts, wants a relationship with all of us and promises us eternal life. What more could anyone ask for? Sorry to have rambled on and on. Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate it and it's a blessing to me. Linda
I am the same as you when it comes to making a good meatloaf, I miss it. This loaf looks real good and will give it a try. Good thing it freezes, won't need to make any for awhile. Looked around your site and like what I see, time to get to some different food, stuck in a rut. Thank you so much for giving your time to put up these videos.
Hi Ann, This meatloaf took the fear out of making a good meatloaf even if it did have bacon grease in it, LOL!!! It was very good and I've made it since not using the bacon grease in the topping and not as much in the meatloaf. I know you'll enjoy it too! TFW God Bless, Linda
I’m a northern girl who married a southern boy, and I love southern cooking. I gained 10 pounds when we were first married as I couldn’t get enough of those biscuits and gravy made with bacon grease. I’ve never made a good meatloaf either, so I am eager to try this one.
Hi Josey, Thank you so much for the compliment! I hope to continue to entertain you with new ideas and recipes.God Bless Linda P.S. You'll like this meatloaf as well!!!
I do beef. Panko bread crumbs. Buttermilk. Red pepper flakes. A whole cup of Parmesan onion soup mix. 4 tablespoons of wortstershire And sometimes I add those black cured olives
Hands That Cook That really doesn't surprise me all that much good cooks know how it adds just that extra little flavor to make an ordinary dish a bit more special ☺
I am both a big meatloaf and Elvis fan! This meatloaf looks delicious! I like fresh sweet onion in my meatloaf but sometimes I use Lipton Onion Soup Mix. I think meatloaf always taste better the day after I make it. I guess because all the flavors really meld together after sitting in the refrigerator overnight. Thanks for posting this, Linda. I always enjoy watching your TH-cam channel!
Hi Pamela Thank you for the compliment! This is a very flavorful recipe and it's great the next day but also wonderful right out of the oven. I know you'll enjoy it. TFW and commenting! Linda
I will definitely be adding this to my list of meat loaf recipes! Generally make one every month or so, especially during our cold Ohio winters. The only thing I'd change is ¾ cup oatmeal (uncooked) instead of the breadcrumbs. Thanks very much for posting this video.
Hi bodine, you'll enjoy this meatloaf. You can sub anything you choose but it won't be Elvis' authentic meatloaf. You ought to try his just once....your choice of course! TFW and commenting. Linda
Hi Jean There may be better meatloaves out there but I really enjoyed this one. I used the bacon drippings because that's the way Elvis liked it. Now when I make it, I leave that out. TFW and taking the time to comment!! God Bless, Linda
God bless you for putting up with the negative Comments. Your beef was fine you didn't die you didn't force your viewers to eat it and you've done explained it well enough. Recipes are for guidelines you adjust to your liking. You said 2 Tbsp of bacon grease but was using a tsp so used more than 2 spoonfuls and that seem to cause people a hissy fit. Gloves or no gloves, it's your family eating it, who cares! I appreciate your time and effort. Stay special!
I don’t know how good the meatloaf recipe is but the topping is definitely a keeper…..on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best I give it a 10! I have cooked over 40 years and it is the best topping ever!
Hi Linda! I'm like you, I've never been able to make a meatloaf that was worth eating, lol. But this one looks delicious! I'm gonna try it! Thanks for sharing! xoxo Ranita
Hi Grace, Sam is already talking about eating the leftovers tomorrow lol! He's such a foodie. I hope you'll try and enjoy this meatloaf recipe. TFW and taking the time to comment. God Bless Linda
Hi Linda, I just wanted to let you know that I, like you, haven't been a very good Meatloaf maker. I made this last night and it was really good. My hubby liked it as well. The only change I made was to the topping. To me the molasses made it a little bitter, I used twice the ketchup to the molasses ratio and it was really good. Thanks for the recipe, I'll be making this again, sans the molasses. I really enjoy your down home recipe videos. Myra
Hi Myra, I don't know why I could never make a decent meatloaf....but I have a kindred spirit in you! I was so glad I tried this recipe and surprised as well that it is good. I breathed a sigh of relief finally after all these years being considered a outcast among all the meatloaf lovers! Thanks for watching and commenting. God Bless! Linda
Well now, isn't that something...meatloaf ala Elvis! Can't wait to give it a go, actually. I have never been good at meatloaf either~ nor has it ever been my favorite dish, but you all have me intrigued with this one. That story of Sam's, about dating the Don Ho dancer after Elvis "discarded" her? That's fairly intriguing as well:) My my, such lives we lead, huh? Everyone's got their own special history and it's one of the reasons I just love listening to folks who have lived a good long while~never a shortage of stories for the interested ear:) Thank you so much for sharing with us sweet woman, I think I might try this for Sunday supper this week~ God Bless and keep you near, enjoy the weekend! XO from Samantha in AZ
I didn't get this recipe out of a book. It came directly from Pauline Nicholson, so enjoy. I wouldn't change a thing about it. The story Sam told is absolutely true. That's the first time he's ever mentioned her name. Thank you RV for watching and enjoying this channel. God Bless! Linda
Our favorite meatloaf has been the one on the Quaker Oats box, but you must add a sweet topping (catsup, brown sugar and maybe a little mustard). It always turns out great. This one sounds interesting if you don't mind the fat added by way of bacon grease! My cookbook of Elvis' favorite recipes has a very simple meatloaf (2 lbs. beef, 1 cup soft bread crumbs, 1 egg, and 1/4 tsp each salt & pepper) which was served with mushroom gravy. They both sound delicious!
Lord, I have had the biggest crush on Elvis since I can remember, and I wasn't even a thought in the wind during his lifetime and death lol it's neat to know what kind of meatloaf that was prepared for him, it looks so wonderfully delicious! God bless, Linda!
Hi Miah, I saw Elvis in Vegas and what a thrill (at the time) that was. I knew a girl who was so "in love" with him that when you mentioned his name her eyes would roll back into her head...all you could see was the whites, lol. I was never in that type mode for any of the celebrities but I do remember having a crush on Pat Boone. I would draw a heart and put our initials inside, LOL!!! I'm sure there are more intricate meatloaves out there but this one is good and after many years of making bad ones, I was thrilled to make a decent meatloaf....try it, I think you'll like it!! TFW and commenting God Bless, Linda
That was a treat! For the simple fact that you used bacon grease, so I know it is good I grew up in Baltimore, but neighbors from the South taught us to save bacon grease. We always used it in shortning to fry chicken, and green tomatoes!
Hi Alicia Since I've been notorious for making bad, bad meatloaves, This was such a pleasure to eat and share! I hope you and your family enjoy it as much as we did. TFW and commenting. God Bless, Linda
Love meat loaf, my boys like it to and I love Elvis as well. I am gonna try this, I just love your southern accents as well. Much love from the U.K. XXX
Bj, there's nothing wrong with the meat...the bright red one I just opened...the brown was from the last of a 5 lb. roll I'd already used. It was not old or spoiled, it starts changing colors when the air hits it. If I had broken the large pieces of what you called terribly discolored meat, it would be red inside just like the other "fresher" meat. Have no fear! This was perfectly safe and perfectly delicious. TFW God Bless, Linda
Bj Stacy Butchers put blood in meat to make it more appealing ! Leave it long enough, even overnight and the blood has drained the little mat on tray absorbs the draining ....sometimes if there is a lot it fills the tray too ! Meat is fine ! Ground beef will smell ! If it’s bad, pork and chicken will Be slimy first then smell ! You can make up ingredients before, then wrap tightly with foil and next day you just pop it in oven ....
Bj Stacy: Then you are ignorant. Read this:The plastic wrap covering the ground beef you see in the grocery store is permeable, allowing some oxygen to seep through and keep the meat on the exterior red. But ground beef that’s not exposed to oxygen - like the meat that’s on the interior - will often lose its red color after a few days. However, if the ground beef is gray or brown throughout, it could be beginning to spoil. If you do detect an off odor or if the meat seems sticky or slimy, throw it away. Although bacteria that cause spoilage don’t always cause illness, there’s no sense in taking a chance.
i love watching you cook, and learning new ideas ! -- i appreciate that you make good conversation, while at task ! .. thanks for sharing even whick rack to use. __ -- can you film how to bake a Whole Country Ham, without it becoming dry or tough ? ....... i don'T remember enough, without your directions. i seem to recall i baked it 225 degrees over night ?
Hi Julia...I've never baked a country ham. I don't care for salty ham and country ham would fall in that category. Sorry, I can't help you with this one. TFW God Bless, Linda
Wish we could see use, Thank you for the video, love meatloaf, might be a lot of ingredients won't agree with my tummy ,but seems Elvis loved it so do I.
When I was a kid my mom used to make meatloaf and I absolutely hated it. Many long nights alone at the dinner table not eating.😂 I am older now and my tastes have changed. My grandmother showed how to make with turkey and really moist. I enjoyed.. this one looks spectacular! I’ll have to try;)
Thank u be bless I like the way u call out the menu as u go I not the best on my phone when they say go to the bottom to get the recipe I just don't know how to get it.
Hi Byron, This is a great meatloaf and you'll enjoy it. I don't have time to answer the questions you ask after viewing a recipe....sorry. God Bless and thanks for watching. Linda
That really looks like a great meatloaf. Sort of like the way my sister and I used to make back in the '50's, We just put bacon strips on to bake. Does anyone put their meatloaf in a roasting pan with a lid? We always did and let the vegetables cook away and then later, just take the lid off to brown off the meatloaf. This has to be a really tasty meal. I'd like fresh home grown green beans along with this meal too. Sue in Central Indiana
Hi Sue, This is a good meatloaf...but as I said in the video, I've never made a good meatloaf but I've eaten some good ones. I've never baked one with the lid on but that sure sounds like a great idea and I must try it!! TFW and commenting!! God Bless, Linda
Well Sam... Im gonna take your word on it.. Cause for some reason..the last meatloaf I made was so bad,,I would;nt even give it to my dog...lol.. And I Love my Dog !!! Im gonna try this one for sure & I'll lat ya know how it turns out... I understand why he used the bacon fat...Its a great seasoning for alot of things.. I use it especially if Im making a pot of dried beans w/ Hog jaws... Its delicious !!! ok.. .. I ran off at the mouth enough...lol gonna get to cooking !!!!
Glenda, you won't be disappointed....I was so surprised myself. Especially since I've been a failure at meatloaf all my life. Take care and God Bless Linda
i love sam's story and the meatloaf looks great . when i make my meatloaf sometimes i cheat and use a box of the sage flavored stovetop stuffing in the box ,black pepper and some bbq sauce in my meatloaf and fresh chopped parsley , onions ,granulated garlic, granulated onion powder , a little ketchup and than i shape it into a long loaf {i use 2 lb. of ground chuck and 1 lb. of ground pork } than i score the top with a knife like a criss crossed ham on top. than i top it with ketchup or leave it plain n serve with gravy . i forgot the eggs , and a heaping tablespoon or 2 of sour cream mixed into the meatloaf also . the sour cream makes it more tender, my mother in law told me to add this n not to over work the meat or it will get tough also . i only serve my meatloaf with gravy if i do not top it with ketchup or anything else . i sure am gonna try this recipe linda . i am good for adding things to a recipe thats not included in it . but i will follow his one to a tee. i also keep a jar of bacon grease in my fridge at all times . great for fried potatoes , eggs and so much more . god bless you both and i love hearing sam's stories . he makes me smile and reminds me of my grampa talking very slow and with a down south draw , love it !!!!! i spent many summers in wv with my grandparents and boy do i miss them and sam brings back the memories for me . ok i am chatty this sunday morning , sorry . our son bought us a box of coffee called death wish coffee , OMG 1 cup is like 3-4 . but it is a great tasting coffee . ok talk to yous all later .
Hey Kathy Jo, you're meatloaf sounds good and I think you'll enjoy this recipe also. Sam really loved it and I must say it's the best I've eaten. That Death Wish Coffee has got you talking fast and furious today, lol! I also keep bacon grease for cooking. I love the flavor for cooking and frying. Sam has a good personality and most everyone likes him. Thank you Kathy Jo for taking the time to watch and comment. God Bless Linda
Hi Dan, thanks for commenting. I'll just say you'll love this meatloaf if you try it. Thanks for the welcome home but I haven't been anywhere, lol!! Linda
Bacon grease is a SOUTHERN thing(from the 30's, 40's, and 50's. Most people from that era saved everything and reused it in their cooking. Both of my grandmother's did. All that bacon grease might encourage a soon meeting with Elvis.
a tiny amount of apple cider vinegar in the topping makes it so, so much better. also I now add a half a packet of onion soup (cutting down actual salt put in). other then that damn near everything the same. love me some meatloaf
Hi robotaustin12....the vinegar is a nice touch and I'll try it next time.......I was making Elvis Presley's favorite meatloaf so I made no changes to his recipe. If I had it wouldn't have been the true meatloaf he ate and defeated the purpose. TFW, commenting and the idea of introducing the vinegar to the topping. I must admit that the addition of molasses made such a delightful difference in the topping. It was completely unexpected. God Bless, Linda
That was the last of my vacuum packed meat (I won't buy it anymore) It turns gray when the air hits it (after about a day) The meat was perfectly fine in every way. Do you honestly think I'd eat or give my family anything that is spoiled or would hurt them?? TFW God Bless, Linda
Here's what I got off the internet: The plastic wrap covering the ground beef you see in the grocery store is permeable, allowing some oxygen to seep through and keep the meat on the exterior red. But ground beef that’s not exposed to oxygen - like the meat that’s on the interior - will often lose its red color after a few days. Although bacteria that cause spoilage don’t always cause illness, there’s no sense in taking a chance.
It was neither sticky or slimy, had no odor and was perfectly safe to eat. If I had broken it open, it would have been pink inside. I'm sooo tired of discussing this, I'll not discuss it any more. Furthermore, I'd never feed my family OR myself, spoiled ANYTHING.

+Hands That Cook Thank you for responding so quickly, I just realized that I could try using turkey or chicken bacon, I 'll be making this tomorrow, so will let you know how it turns out! I also never had a lot of success with meatloaf, so I am excited about this recipe! My kids(6), will be my taste testers! Bless you and yours!
Hey Tim! I'm not an expert on meatloaf. I've made many a bad one in the past. I really liked this one. In my opinion this is the best..but then, I don't have anything to compare it to. I am glad you felt the same. TFW and taking the time to comment. God Bless, Linda
Hi LindieLee, This is a simple meatloaf...Elvis liked simple food like his mother cooked for him. I hope you enjoy it!! TFW and commenting! God Bless, Linda
Hello sarajoW, I'm so glad to hear you liked it! This is how I fix meatloaf from now on. Thanks for getting back with me to let me know!! God Bless, Linda
Hi kesejunira, to my knowledge there is no website or channel offering Elvis recipes. I was told you could buy a cookbook of the recipes the two cooks made for him at his home when you took the tour. I don't know for certain. I just got lucky when I came across a chef who had spent the day with Pauline and she revealed this recipe. TFW and commenting!! God Bless!! Linda
Hey Miss Linda, your meatloaf looks great. My family are all big EP fans. I have a little black spiral bound cookbook called "Recipes fit for a King" I think we sent away for it or my brother might have picked it up at Graceland. I think one of his cooks wrote it. It seems like another favorite of his was banana pudding with the nilla wafers. I think you can get the book I have on Amazon. It has a picture of Elvis on the front. Btw, I would sure like to pull up a chair and listen to some more of Mr Sam's stories, if he would care to tell them...lol. Hope you both have a wonderful Sunday.
Hi Meg Sam has some great stories for sure! I've heard about that book but wasn't aware you could buy it off Amazon. Thanks for watching and commenting!! God Bless Linda
Hi Jeanette, I honestly couldn't tell the bacon grease was in there but then I've not tasted it without it. I just made a triple batch, one to eat and 2 to freeze for later and I didn't add the bacon grease but I must say this is a very good meat loaf. TFW and commenting and God Bless! Linda
Hi S. Yolanda, No, that WAS a teaspoon. It wasn't mounded up but spread out in my hand. It looked like more than a tsp. but that's all it was. Thank you for the compliment!! TFW and commenting. God Bless, Linda
sarajoW, If you watch my videos you know I don't like cooked celery at all. If you cut it small enough it's cooked through....mine was not crunchy and I didn't mind it at all in this meatloaf...hooray!! TFW and commenting God Bless, Linda
I've never tried Meatloaf but I should get moving and make some ❤️ It's a shame Sam's aunt was not making Elvis' meatloaf 😂😂 Looks really good Linda. Hope you've had a lovely weekend. Love & best wishes
Allan, if you try meatloaf you've got to make this version. It's delicious. Sam's aunt is in her 80's and never professed to being a good cook (I can vouch for that) but she's a very sweet and kind lady...I can't imagine what she put together as her meatloaf (she really isn't that bad, I'm exaggerating) in any case...I'm positive this is better. The weekend is pleasant but not busy. You know I don't like summer so I go out as little as possible but fall is right around the corner so life will pick up again. Love and friendship, Linda
The recipe sounds very good. The one thing that bothers me is the hamburger. When you said it set in the refrigerator for several days that really made me almost want to gag. I was always taught that hamburger should never sit for more than a day in frigerator. It just looks rotten. But I am going to try your recipe cuz it just sounds delish thank you for your recipe
Well, it wasn't rotten...it was good meat. It was vacuum packed which makes it turn gray when the air hits it. I hope this helps your feelings about the meat. TFW God bless.
The mystery of Sam and Elvis' ex girlfriend is solved! At least from my prospective. Such a great story. My husband and I really like Don Ho music. It was a great era. My mother in law hates cooked celery too. This really does look like the best meatloaf ever. Trust Elvis to have bacon grease in the recipe. I actually have some in a jar in my fridge to make spinach salad, but I haven't used it yet. I was planning to make your pecan pie this weekend and surprise my dad. I can't make the pie or this delicious meatloaf anytime soon. I took a bad and freakish fall while walking my sons puppy. I have a cast on my left arm and had surgery on my left knee yesterday. I'm wheelchair bound. I can't wait to try this and your pecan pie as soon aside healed. This is a good time to watch your videos. I enjoy spending time with you and Sam!
I thought I'd faint when he mentioned her name! He's never told me but he doesn't mind telling thousands, lol! Go figure! Julia, I'm so sorry you've fallen and hurt yourself. You must let your son walk his dog from now on. How on earth (if you want to share) did you take such a nasty fall?I don't want to tell you how to bake the pecan pie....but....if you use the method I did, you can leave several with your Mom and Dad, leave some at home to eat and freeze for a later time. It's so much more convenient. I know you'll be pleased with them when you finish. Also, the crust is quite good on those little shells.Staying true to Southern tradition, I always have bacon grease, lol. The meatloaf recipe has made my supply low so I must have BLT's to replenish it. Gosh that was a delicious meatloaf...I think it might be just as good without the bacon grease. I'll have to check that out next time I make it (and there will be a next time!)Spend as much time with me and Sam as you like and when you get bored (and you will) just turn us off for the night. Take care Julia, I'll be praying for you and keep me posted on how you're doing. Linda
+Hands That Cook thanks for the tips on the pie crust! I would like to make my own one day, but I'll start with your delicious filling. I think it's a good idea to bake them in bulk. I bet I could quadruple this meatloaf recipe and freeze without the topping. Just add later. Leftover meatloaf sandwiches are soooooo good! I was visiting my parents, and I brought 4 month old Charlotte to visit too. This was Saturday....I took her out the front door to go potty. Stepping off their front lawn onto the concrete sidewalk, I rolled my foot in my flip flops. My left knee dislocated and fractured. My left elbow dislocated. My parents were in the house and they don't hear well. Thank the lord, that there was a yard sale several houses down. I yelled for help and people came running. Such kind people, all strangers. The paramedics could not rejoint my elbow, so I was in surgery for that on Saturday. I am so grateful to my family and my church group. Thanks for asking! 😀
Glad you're ok...and had strangers to help you. It sounds so painful. I'm such a baby I probably would have just laid there and cried. You're a brave woman Julia!! Please take care!
I made this tonight. It was absolutely AMAZING! It really is the best meat loaf we've ever had. I did add a half tsp of salt and and a half tsp of pepper, other than the extra salt and pepper, I followed your recipe exactly. Thank you for sharing Elvis recipe. YUM!!!
As someone who cannot make a decent meatloaf either, I can't WAIT to try this! You're changing my life, Mrs. Linda!
Looks lovely we don't have meatloaf in England, but I'm trying this. Thank you for posting.
Oh, too bad. I've always loved meatloaf.
Meatloaf can be made most anywhere - enjoy!
England has meatloaf, not haute cuisine, still a great comforter
The more the bacon grease the better!......thank you for all your great videos...god bless
talk about a winner...THIS IS IT!! We loved it.
Thank you Shelby...we both liked it as well. TFW and commenting. God Bless, Linda
I’ve made this meatloaf several times since I first watched your video back when you first posted this video. It turns out perfect every time. It’s the best recipe I’ve ever had for making meatloaf.
Thank you Ann! God bless
My mom always poked holes in the top first then add ketchup/ bbq sauce . The sauce got down inside the loaf , so so good.RIP momma
I'm so glad I've found your channel. I collect cookbooks and now I'm starting to collect cooking channels, LOL. I'm sending this to my daughter. I just sent her your biscuit and pickle & bacon videos. Love your taste tester! God bless.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy my channel and recipes!! TFW God Bless, Linda
Miss Linda I will definitely be making that Meatloaf it looks fantastic

I love meatloaf and the next day make me a meatloaf sandwich with mayo so yummy thanks for sharing

@@HansDelbruck53 you're kidding right? it's the best!!
Linda
I've not found a meatloaf I've ever liked either. I'm gonna have to try it. Thank you and you both take care.
I hope you like this one Becky...it was good (but more fattening with the bacon grease) TFW God Bless, Linda
Love your videos. I cook a lot for my large family and make a lot of your recipes. Thank you
Hi Debbie, I'm so glad you're enjoying my recipes! I appreciate you getting back with me to let me know and I appreciate you!
Can't wait try try. Love you guys. Y'all remind me of family that's no longer with me. Really enjoy the channel.
A whole cup of Parmesan
onion soup mix.
4 tablespoons of wortstershire
And sometimes I add those black cured olives
Ok now I have two new meatloaf recipes 😋 Thank You !!
I always pick the wrong time of night to watch cooking videos. :/
I really miss having someone to cook for. Being single has it downfalls.
Keep looking....you'll find someone. God Bless Linda
Im with ya on that... !!! I feel at a loss alot of times...

The bacon grease would give a really good bacon flavor to that meatloaf. My mom always saved her bacon grease and used it in other things she cooked.
I save my bacon grease too and it does come in handy! TFW God Bless, Linda
Hands That Cook
That really doesn't surprise me all that much good cooks know how it adds just that extra little flavor to make an ordinary dish a bit more special ☺
@ Do you kiss your mommy with that filthy mouth?
I love your style of cooking thank you so much for sharing your recipes
Linda
Where can I find the "authentic Elvis😊" recipe?
I'm so glad I found your Channel Linda!!
Thank you Karen! That's such a kind remark!! TFW God Bless, Linda
Looks so good, Linda. I love your videos & recipes.
Hi Jean There may be better meatloaves out there but I really enjoyed this one. I used the bacon drippings because that's the way Elvis liked it. Now when I make it, I leave that out. TFW and taking the time to comment!! God Bless, Linda
I enjoy your honesty!
It looks wonderful, I may have to give it a whirl. Fun story Sam :-)
lumpilulu, You won't be disappointed. I've gone from a lousy meatloaf maker to a good one...I'm so happy!!! Thanks for watching and commenting! Linda
That looks delicious! I've already had 2 strokes. WHEW, I'm just mesmerized! CELESTE
I'm sorry you had 2 strokes. But glad you're still here. 😊
I don’t know how good the meatloaf recipe is but the topping is definitely a keeper…..on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best I give it a 10! I have cooked over 40 years and it is the best topping ever!
Hi Marilyn, It really is a good topping! TFW God bless!! P.S. The meatloaf was also good!
Oh Sam!!! You're too cute... You're Linda's best sales person... God bless you both!!! Come to SC!! We love you!!!
Don't tell him he's cute....he has a big ego and I'll never hear the end of it LOL!
Hi Linda! I'm like you, I've never been able to make a meatloaf that was worth eating, lol. But this one looks delicious! I'm gonna try it! Thanks for sharing! xoxo
Ranita
Hi Ranita, I was so surprised this meatloaf tasted good. Probably from years of failure, lol. You won't be disappointed so enjoy!! God Bless, Linda
I was shocked ....my first good meatloaf, LOL!! TFW God Bless, Linda
Looks so yummy! Thank you Linda & Sam!
Hi Grace, Sam is already talking about eating the leftovers tomorrow lol! He's such a foodie. I hope you'll try and enjoy this meatloaf recipe. TFW and taking the time to comment. God Bless Linda
***** your welcome!
This was an excellent meatloaf Joseph....I hope you'll try it. TFW and commenting, Linda
Funny husband. It's a wonder it didn't have peanut on it, knowing Elvis. I am going to try this one. Thank you. God's blessings to you both 🐬🕊
I could smell it cooking the whole time..your a real doll..enjoying you very much 💖
Thank you Susan....this was such a good meatloaf!!! Bacon grease and all, lol. I still make this but leave out the bacon grease. TFW God Bless, Linda
Hands That Cook ...so lovely to hear from you Linda..keep inspiring us all..much love💗
Thank you for the kind words. God Bless, Linda
Looks amazing and y'all are great! I can't wait to try it!
XXX
I have to try this.....thanks for sharing!!!
It was good Susan and slightly better with the bacon grease but it isn't really needed if you want to leave it out. TFW God Bless, Linda
Finished product looks great, but I would be afraid of that terribly discolored meat.
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing!
If my ground beef even slightly becomes discolored, it's in the TRASH!
The brownish met is just oxidized. Smell is the test. No bad smell, meat is fine. Don't waste.

Wish we could see use, Thank you for the video, love meatloaf, might be a lot of ingredients won't agree with my tummy ,but seems Elvis loved it so do I.
Made this today, absolutely delicious!!!!!
I'm so glad you like it!! Elvis would be so proud!! LOL! TFW God Bless, Linda
I'm sure I will love it and I bet the bacon grease gives this meat loaf really good flavor too.
As basic as this meatloaf is, it's very good. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. TFW and enjoy the meatloaf! God Bless, Linda
Hey Bailey! This is a good recipe & I do hope you try it. TFW God Bless, Linda
Suggestion: Cook the meatloaf for 15-20 minutes, then apply the topping. Reason, the topping will better adhere and not run off the sides.
Good idea!!! TFW and commenting God Bless, Linda
This is the best recipe I’ve ever had!
Hi Shauna! I'm so glad you like it!! TFW God bless
I love Elvis. I'm gonna try this for sure. Maybe minus the bacon grease.
Never tried meatloaf before but this looks great! :)
Thank you for tuning in Bradley. You're in for a treat if you've never eaten meatloaf. This is an excellent recipe. Enjoy! Linda
Thank u be bless I like the way u call out the menu as u go I not the best on my phone when they say go to the bottom to get the recipe I just don't know how to get it.
Thank you Annie....you be blessed as well!! TFW Linda
Made this a few days ago & it was Awesome!!!!!!!!
Thank you Robin!! We liked it!!! TFW God Bless, Linda
Hi, Linda. That meatloaf looks incredibly amazing. What do you enjoy about beef recipes? Have a good day, Linda. God Bless.
I made it last night it was very good.I didn't put bacon fat..I put 1/4 cup ricotta cheese..
Whole milk ricotta cheese..
That looks sooooooooo good! If it is gone in the morning, guess who came and claimed it!!!
LOL!!!!
Awwww thank you !!!
i love sam's story and the meatloaf looks great . when i make my meatloaf sometimes i cheat and use a box of the sage flavored stovetop stuffing in the box ,black pepper and some bbq sauce in my meatloaf and fresh chopped parsley , onions ,granulated garlic, granulated onion powder , a little ketchup and than i shape it into a long loaf {i use 2 lb. of ground chuck and 1 lb. of ground pork } than i score the top with a knife like a criss crossed ham on top. than i top it with ketchup or leave it plain n serve with gravy . i forgot the eggs , and a heaping tablespoon or 2 of sour cream mixed into the meatloaf also . the sour cream makes it more tender, my mother in law told me to add this n not to over work the meat or it will get tough also . i only serve my meatloaf with gravy if i do not top it with ketchup or anything else . i sure am gonna try this recipe linda . i am good for adding things to a recipe thats not included in it . but i will follow his one to a tee. i also keep a jar of bacon grease in my fridge at all times . great for fried potatoes , eggs and so much more . god bless you both and i love hearing sam's stories . he makes me smile and reminds me of my grampa talking very slow and with a down south draw , love it !!!!! i spent many summers in wv with my grandparents and boy do i miss them and sam brings back the memories for me . ok i am chatty this sunday morning , sorry . our son bought us a box of coffee called death wish coffee , OMG 1 cup is like 3-4 . but it is a great tasting coffee . ok talk to yous all later .
I can't wait to try....do you think this can be made in the pressure cooker?
Hi Deanna, This can be made in a pressure cooker. Just remember it won't brown. Enjoy!!! Linda
No wonder he swole up so big. Hey!!! hunk a hunk, of burning bacon love.🥺🥺
yummy in my tummy for sure
As simple as it is, you'll love it! TFW and commenting God Bless, Linda

Dan ..
Hi Dan, thanks for commenting. I'll just say you'll love this meatloaf if you try it. Thanks for the welcome home but I haven't been anywhere, lol!! Linda
Ok ..Tanks ..

I'd be scared to death of that grey meat in that bowl.....

No wonder the King got a big belly near the end..... I want this !
Hello!
I don't eat pork, so do I leave it out, or if not, what would I replace it with
You can leave out the bacon grease. TFW God Bless, Linda
I've got my fingers crossed for you, lol!!! TFW God Bless, Linda
I made this last night and I agree, THE BEST meatloaf I ever had!!! Thanks so much
Hey Tim! I'm not an expert on meatloaf. I've made many a bad one in the past. I really liked this one. In my opinion this is the best..but then, I don't have anything to compare it to. I am glad you felt the same. TFW and taking the time to comment. God Bless, Linda
Elvis Presley Meatloaf Recipe...wow!!!!!!
Thank you so much,
Your accents are so sweet, where do you guys live?
Thank you! We're in Alabama
I've never made a good meatloaf ether, I'm so looking forward to making this one.
Hi LindieLee, This is a simple meatloaf...Elvis liked simple food like his mother cooked for him. I hope you enjoy it!! TFW and commenting! God Bless, Linda
I've made this several times now and it's great. What I had done in the past was compact the loaf tightly. Making it loose really makes a difference.
Linda are you o.k.? Some of us haven't heard from you in a long time. We're getting worried. Sending prayers for you and Sam. 🙏❤️
Feel dumb but molasses? Does that come in a jar? Which part of the grocery store would i find it? Thx. Love your videos!! My mouth is watering!!
Yes Kristine, Molasses comes in a jar and it will be near the pancake syrups. TFW God Bless, Linda
Made it today. Love it. Thanx.
Hello sarajoW, I'm so glad to hear you liked it! This is how I fix meatloaf from now on. Thanks for getting back with me to let me know!! God Bless, Linda
I’ve gotta try this one!
It was so good...I believe you'll think so too!! TFW God Bless, Linda
Have you ever heard of Elviis’s poundcake I wonder if you can make that recipe
thank you
I've heard of it and I'll make it for you. TFW God Bless
I am going to try this
Sam, you hushed at the perfect time LOL almost got in trouble ;)
is there a website where Elvis cooks have more recipes?
Down home cooking just my style!!! Bacon grease; who'da thunk it!
Linda
Traditionally its mashtators an gravy an greenbeans or corn.
Yep, your right! TFW God Bless, Linda
Don't you mean a tablespoon of salt? My goodness!!! I love your chanel, you and your husband are delightful.
Hi S. Yolanda, No, that WAS a teaspoon. It wasn't mounded up but spread out in my hand. It looked like more than a tsp. but that's all it was. Thank you for the compliment!! TFW and commenting. God Bless, Linda
Question: Was your celery fully cooked when the meatloaf was done or was it still a little crunchy?
sarajoW, If you watch my videos you know I don't like cooked celery at all. If you cut it small enough it's cooked through....mine was not crunchy and I didn't mind it at all in this meatloaf...hooray!! TFW and commenting God Bless, Linda
Thank you. I'm the opposite. Prefer not to have that celery crunch but I do like the flavor that celery gives in some recipes. God Bless you too.
Thank you for watching sarajoW I appreciate it!
Looks very yummy
Thank you Rona, We really enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and commenting. Linda

+Hands That Cook i did cry. lol. went into shock too.
What does going into shock feel like? I've heard that before but I don't really know what it means.
Gotta try this! Will be thinking of Elvis!
