- How Did Darth Malak Take Control Of The Sith Empire From Darth Revan?
Nearly four thousand years before the events of A New Hope, Darth Revan and his apprentice, Malak, founded a new Sith Empire on Korriban.
Proclaiming themselves Sith Lords, they launched a war on the Republic and the Jedi Order. A planned twenty-year campaign to destroy the Jedi Council, the conflict became known as the Jedi Civil War.
Early in their campaign, Malak openly referred to his Master as soft and in retribution, Revan removed Malak’s jaw with a single lightsaber strike.
Forced to wear a vocabulator in order to speak, Malak’s voice had a harsh artificial tone, and his prosthetic jaw made him a very disturbing image.
Biding his time, Malak waited nearly two years to exact his revenge. When the Jedi assaulted Revan on his flagship, Malak saw his chance. Opening fire on his Master’s ship, the apprentice believed he had killed not only his Master but also the Jedi strike team.
Believing everyone on board was destroyed, Darth Malak assumed command of the Sith Empire, claiming the title of Dark Lord for himself.

@@petergeramin7195 kinda spoiler if you haven't played KOTOR 1 and 2 but: basically the main Protagonist is Revan who has Amnesia. Because of that he follows the Light side of the force on those games and you can have Jedi allies in your party

@@kenkaneki3255 My most recent playthrough I went to the dark side. My only regret was Bastilla and I didn’t get the normal sappy love lines in the Factory at the end. Thoroughly disappointing. Killing all my squad mates was disappointing too 😭

Watch crazy is the time span 4000 years is longer than our history. And the amount of tech they have vs us right now. At first didn’t make sense they should be more modern right, but the truth is some worlds will be extremely poor and lack resources yet some like Corusant have people with great homes, tech and Jedis with light sabers

Of course Malik thought Reven was soft, he believed Blind pointless destruction was a sign of strength.
Raven fought the way he did, because he actually intended to rule the galaxy once everything was done.
And truthfully if the Jedi council had been smart they would’ve taken Malik out first.
Instead they wanted the information about their secret weapon, and it led to Malik the moron taking over.

I always felt like 4000 minutes ears prior to Phantom Menace was just too long. Idk. For me, just seems like way too long. Maybe _ONE_ thousand years. But, _Four?_
That being said…these two are such badass designs. I did always find it interesting that, if Revan was once a Jedi, then turns to the Dark side, that he never got physically damaged by the Dark Side itself; and needed some apparatus to survive. Most Sith Lords get consumed, by the Dark Side. That’s why so many need such things akin to Vader & Malak.
But, Revan was so physically untouched so to speak, that he was able to be unaware of his Sith past when he got amnesia. If he had been terribly disfigured like MOST Sith Lords, there’s no WAY he could have. I always found it interesting that he didn’t even have the famed Sith yellow eyes.
That being said, I love Revan’s design. He’s one of my very favorites. They left a bit of the Jedi look, in him (hood cloak); with a badass customized Mandalorian helmet he grabbed, after killing the Mando. He’s my favorite Sith, in the entire lore (I HOPE they bring these two into the new Canon somehow. Maybe even get rid of that 4000 years thing…and just show them as the predecessors to Palpatine & the Empire. I would absolutely love it! Well, as long as Disney didn’t SCREW it UP!)
I think even mainstream &/or casual fans are out like a change of face & a fresh new story &/or series, to be successful.
Revan is also HIGHLY underrated. He was very powerful, actually. I am of getting belief he just doesn’t get the respect he deserves.

I mean, are there not plenty of battles on or near Yavin in both Kotor 1-2 and Swtor? And I'm sure before and in between them and in between them and TPM. I mean, Yavin is actually a small cluster of 20 something moons and BBY is in reference to when the Rebellion abandoned Yavin 4 and 8 in episode IV which, just why? A better yearing system would have been BDS (Before the Destruction of the Death Star or Before the Death of Sidious). Also the whole before jesus/after jesus thing is dumb, both in Star Wars and real life.

Knights of the old Republic, a game which takes place way before all the movies. Really fantastic games, both are extremely beloved both in and outside the Star Wars 'fandom'... especially the sequel.
