      We can see something very interesting, Anakin was much stronger than Drawling, Obi wan including Yoda and Windu regarding a lightsaber skills even the usage of the force, but if you notice that he was a new sith, he was not got use his new increase of power and that's the reason why he was defeated by obi wan and siths learn how to use his rage to attack but not losing focus to get over the challenge, just take a look on the way as other siths handle a lightsaber duel an we will get this point, after this explanation Vader

      Anakin was powerful but they intentionally made sure all the known Jedi Masters were off world dying in ambushes when they showed him marching on the temple and killing younglings. I knew it was about Cin "the Troll" Drallig as soon as I read the title. He's one of those niche characters that are really interesting but need to be explored more to really cement their place in the SW universe. I bet Dooku and him had some sparring matches with each other, both using Makashi for a spectacle of artful lightsaber combat.

    • @starwarsreadingclub
      @starwarsreadingclub  6 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      I agree completely IO, I wanted to do "the Troll" justice with this one. :) There are so many interesting aspect too that I had to leave out, such as his "rescuing" of Padawan Serra Keto, who he had to sadly watch be cut down by Vader before his own demise. Interesting enough too, you're right about the Form II aspects. Looking at some "developed theory" from Drallig during the Clone Wars, he was actually a fan of Makashi and thought there was tons of value in Jedi being trained in what had been a pretty rejected Form up until that time. Very interesting stuff IMO. Thank you for watching IO, hope you had a great weekend!

      Thing is, Anakin was a prodigy with a lightsaber, and more powerful than cin drallig in the force, while obi wan, although not as powerful, perfected form 3 as another commenter pointed out, but also had the advantage of sparring with Anakin his whole life, so obi wan knows exactly how Anakin fights to a T, combined with his perfection of form 3 would make it very difficult for Anakin to defeat him, whereas a less skilled and less powerful Jedi would have a better chance at beating obi wan, because obi wan wouldn't be used to how that Jedi fights, and could only rely on his knowledge of form 3.

    • @johannguchte7537
      @johannguchte7537 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      AKlover -- Many skilled Jedi had a disadvantage when it came to saber-wielding opponents, but not Drallig. Drallig was the Battlemaster of the Order.. he possessed tremendous and nearly unparalleled mastery in all 7 forms of lightsaber combat, and even _Jar'Kai,_ and mastered every single stance within these said forms, even the most obscure and outdated, and mastered every single style and method and usage of each stance and form, for both blaster-deflection and blade-to-blade combat. Drallig was also the unrivaled master of Form 6, _Niman,_ which was his least favorite form.
      Drallig was one of the few Jedi that Dooku actually respected. In fact, Dooku viewed Drallig as an equal; a challenge, a worthy opponent. Also, Dooku had such esteem of Drallig's abilities, that he instructed General Grievous to *never* engage Drallig under *any* circumstances whatsoever, for Drallig was far superior and would swiftly best him.
      It has also been speculated that if Drallig was given a younger body coupled with his prime knowledge and skill, he would be able to contend with Yoda, as Windu and Dooku did.
      Rest assured, had Drallig not been considerably fatigued and elderly, he would have defeated Anakin with ease.

      Not really, compared to Vader Anakin wasn't as proficient in his force abilities. Due to the amounts of stamina Vader's movements consumed he relied a lot more on the force than he did when he was a jedi. Anakin was more finesse, acrobatic, and probably quicker, but Vader developed a light saber form all on his own combining many forms into it. He relied far more on less stamina consuming strikes, and with every strike there was purpose. He was calculated, had greater reach than most, and even more important is the amount of power between each of his attacks. Vader was stronger than Anakin period.

When the movies were made bleeding a crystal wasn't a thing and crystals were found. Red crystals were made synthetically and were stronger but less balanced. In legends Luke had a short red shoto saber and a long green one to fight the dark jedi lumiya. The bleeding is a conflicting and imo stupid Disney adventure.

      When Mace drops a dome with nothing but a scream or drops a underwater building or overpowers Yoda's best student even while holding back than we talk Mace being stronger even the choreographer of the prequels said Anakin in dueling was a solid 9 while Mace was 8 near 9

    • @johannguchte7537
      @johannguchte7537 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      397 Llederson -- Mace destroyed a separatist superweapon single-handedly, and annihilated hundreds of B2 Super Battle Droids with the Force and with his fists on Dantooine.
      If by "overpowers Yoda's best student", you are referring to Anakin's duel with Count Dooku, then you are wrong. Anakin won that duel not by skill, but by 5 huge advantages.
      1. Dooku was *the* master of Form 2, _Makashi._ Anakin was a master of Form 5-B, _Djem So,_ which was the superior form to _Makashi._ Form 2 had one weakness, and that was its inability to generate momentum in a fight, making it exceptionally vulnerable to more aggressive forms, like Anakin's.
      2. Dooku practiced the art of _Dun Mach,_ which was essentially in-battle mockery, where the practitioner makes fun of the enemy, taunting them, pointing out insecurities, weakening their opponent's resolve, causing them to slip up. While this would have worked on many a Jedi, it merely enraged the unstable Anakin, causing Anakin to tap into his limitless Force Potential, utilizing his Dark Side Energy, giving Anakin a *tremendous* power amp, and bringing his Force Augmentation to Dooku's level, and far above.
      3. Anakin had a metal arm, which was extremely overpowered. It gave him superhuman strength and speed, and was considerably more dexterous and maneuverable than two hands combined. This is evident as throughout the fight, we see Anakin shove Dooku backwards when they lock blades, as well as forcibly grabbing Dooku's arms and pushing them down. This is backed up by the Star Wars Visual Encyclopedia, which states pretty much what I just did.
      4. After being taunted and tapping into his dark side energy, Anakin prepared to attack, and assumed the opening stance of Form 5-A, _Shien,_ which was weak in 1 on 1 combat. Seeing this, Dooku immediately predicted the attack Anakin would use, and formulated a counter-sequence in his mind. However, when Anakin attacked, he did not use _Shien,_ he used _Djem So,_ catching Dooku off-guard, and surprising him. Dooku was unable to recover in time, and was disarmed.
      5. Sidious instructed Dooku to *hold back* during the fight. Had he gone all out, Anakin and Obi-Wan would have been killed in the first few minutes. Even when holding back, Dooku was easily holding off both Anakin *and* Obi-Wan. However, in the final few seconds of the fight, when Dooku was tricked by Anakin's stance, Dooku swiftly used all his skill in an attempt to regroup, but by then it was too late, and he was defeated.
      Also, only two Jedi were known to rival Yoda in a fight; Count Dooku and Mace Windu. Not Anakin. Anakin and Windu sparred many times, with Windu always winning, toying around with Anakin and correcting various mistakes and errors Anakin made.
      Not to mention, Windu defeated Sidious, who was way better than Anakin. Heck, Sidious killed Agen Kolar and Kit Fisto, who were more skilled than Vader ever would be, in mere seconds.
      Windu outdueled Sidious fair and square. (Confirmed and established by George Lucas multiple times)
      Sidious is the most powerful Sith ever to exist. (Confirmed and established by George Lucas)
      Anakin was at his peak in ROTS as Vader, a Sith, meaning he was not as powerful as Sidious. (Confirmed by George Lucas)
      Therefore, Mace Windu is more powerful than Anakin Skywalker. (Logical following)

    • @knallekalle9920
      @knallekalle9920 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Johann Guchte Anakin didn't smash through Dooku's blade to beat him, he actually managed to do that with a finesse move. And many of George Lucas quotes shouldn't be taken into consideration anymore, not just because he's not in charge anymore, but because TCW, which he oversaw, showed Dooku struggling to fight Anakin with each encounter.
      That being said, I do agree with the established fact that Sidious is the most poweful Sith to ever exist.
      The ROTS novel explains that fighting Obi Wan was exhausting enough, making it even more difficult to contend with Anakin. So no, Dooku would not have been able to kill them easily within minutes.
      I do think that Windu would win in a "fair fight" (as in no obstacles, no one interfering etc) against Anakin. I believe even Grievous would be able to defeat Anakin.

There is also the fact that we know anakin could not kill sidious while windu was able to gain an upper hand and yoda was able to fight him to a draw that was only brocken by sidious use of the force. And while dralling was a batlemaster he was not really that strong in the force, if he was im sure he would have been placed in the jedi council over other member such as kit fisto, kolar or saesee tiin which where all less capable duelist yet council members.

      It was the exact move and scenario Obi Wan used to defeat Maul. Obi Wan knew exactly what Anakin would have to do to try it. Its why he literally tells Anakin "don't try it" in RoS. In addition Obi Wan was a master of form 3 which like aikido seeks to defend until the exact perfect position or moment to finish it.
      Obi Wan was a master at reverse engineering opponents capabilities given time and study. This can be seen in his last duel with Maul in Rebels. Maul attempts to use the same lightsaber hilt/handle strike to the face that killed Qui Gon. A high strike to the face with the lightsaber handle followed by a low thrust. Obi Wan witnessed this and has prepared the perfect counter defense and strike. He finishes Maul instantly.
      Obi Wan knows from previous experience exactly what to defend if someone would try and take the same leaping maneuver he did to Maul in their first fight. He's telling Anakin essentially, I know exactly what you're going to do. Ive done it before. Ive deconstructed that attack and reconstructed a defense to it. Don't try it.
      Thats why that particular high ground mattered. Obi Wan's mastery of Form 3 allowed him to defend until he maneuvered himself into the exact position he knew he had the perfect defense for. He had Anakin in checkmate and he warned Anakin about it.

    • @Burning-Twilight
      @Burning-Twilight 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No Legends wise she fled because she was actually helping as many younglings escape the onslaught of the Jedi Temple. If she and Cin teamed up they probably could have killed Vader. But, the fact was the Jedi Temple was overrun by Clone Troopers even she would have fallen eventually at their hands.

    Drallig was more powerful than Vader. He only lost because he was fatigued from killing countless clones, and because he was elderly.

    • @elevatingvibration1860
      @elevatingvibration1860 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly....circumstances of combat. Those who take advantage of the circumstances and strike when it favors them win the fight. Anakin was more powerful than Obi-Wan in certain aspects...but Obi Wan used the high ground and superior timing and defense to his advantage...and then turned the potentially superior opponent into shredded meat. Against Drallig Anakin used surprise attack, confusion and other factors to beat a superior opponent...but remember Anakin was no padawan but a hardened very skilled knight who rivaled masters...so no matter how good Drallig is...all it takes is the right moment and he's done. As in all combat. Only fanboys and children with their comic book style Superman vs Goku arguments don't get that. The jedi, the most powerful beings in the universe...were gunned down by mere clones afterall...due to clones taking advantage of the circumstances in order to win the fight. Same thing was done here by Vader v Drallig, nothing more. For all their skill and super abilities...they aren't omnipotent or invulnerable...and for that they can be defeated...under the right circumstances...by an opponent that takes an advantage of those circumstances. That's how Anakin....and a platoon of elite troopers took the temple. Not shocking really...Anakin's skill had already been proven and honed since he was a young teenager and even more so by a several years long war. This was the equivalent of an elite military squad attacking a school of cadets who among them are a few former elite level combatant teachers that have been sitting around just training others but not experiencing real combat and are past their prime. Again, not shocking...but I do wish we would have gotten the chance to see this scene in all it's glory.

      Elevating Vibration -- Ah yes but a victory by circumstance is not a true victory, especially when the victor is not skilled enough to defeat his opponent when the odds are even. And that is why we "fanboys and children" raise such an issue with such fights. They are not true displays of superiority, and should not be regarded as such.

      Cin Drallig was not more powerful than Vader. Vader wasn't even fighting with all his power and still killed Cin Drallig. Cin Drallig would still lose in his prime. It would be bullshit if someone like Cin Drallig was more powerful than Vader.

    You should do an expose on Kyle Katarn and what made him such a great and experienced Battlemaster under Luke Skywalkers Order.
    From his first duels with Jerec and his 7 Dark Jedi to his near-fatal clash with Darth Caedus. A most worthy addition to the ranks, I think Cin Drallig would've had a tough time besting Katarn even at his peak.

    Drallig was a extremely accomplished lightsaber wielder. He was also a very respected Jedi in the Jedi Order. It's no surprise that Drallig was Darth Vader's final and most formidable opponent during the Attack on the Jedi Temple. I think along with Yoda, Ashoka, Obi Wan, and the other few other Jedi, he could have survived and cemented his legacy even further. But, I believe that if he did survive he would almost certainly be killed during the Jedi Purge, since he was one of the most accomplished of all Jedi. I wish they did expand on Cin Drallig, cause he deserves way more then what he already has

    Anakin is born from the force itself without a father. Has higher percentage of midiclorial in his blood than any Jedi in history.
    He probably didn't even need a light saber.
    Just his raw force ability without emotional restrain would be able to crush his opponent to bits.
