Oh finally someone did this! I can't believe you cannot order this in Malaysian restaurants overseas (i.e. USA). All the Lor/Loh Mee in the menu is something else, like chicken noodle soup or something. And after 20+ years, I only had 1 chance to eat it during one of my visits home. Thank you for sharing! Just looking at this I'm hungry in a addiction way. I will thank you again once I've tried your recipe and if it's close enough!
One of the trouble of people cooking lor mee is emphasizing on the ingredients. The gravy above is slightly watery. So it boils down to this, the gravy, the vinegar, the al dente noodle. They are what matters most, the rest of the ingredients are distractions for what matter most.

Lor Mee tak ada belacan & chilli (cabai) dalam. Not all Malay style like this. It's a soup base brown gravy, non spicy & fermented shrimp. Cannot put belacan & chilli 😅
Hallo Kelly.. Recioe u cukup bagus, jika u bubuh 2 ekor tulang ayam dan 1 kg kulit udang campur 5 biji bawang putih goreng bagi pecah minyak dan campur kuah Law Mee, u akan menang lain Chef.. Pork lard dan kulit babi rebus dan bubuh diatasLaw Mee, lagi harum dan manis.. Bawang putih 8 biji tumbuk hancur dan masak dengan cuka dan bubuh di atas Law Mee, u akan ambil Champion di Penang.. Ok.. Good job.. Kam Shia.
Put fried garlic is better. Fried garlic will infuse better taste on the gravy. Put 2 tbsp of abalone sauce, some rock sugar (1 tbsp). Gravy have better depth flavour.
