In my own headcanon Nightwing gets a sidekick in the main continuity and it is someone by the name of Flamebird, to pay homage to the tale Superman told him that inspired the name Nightwing to begin with. The catch of this all is that Flamebird is Carrie Kelley. That way it gives her a way to shine outside of the dark knight returns story where I feel like she is viewed as a throw away Robin.
I had the Flamebird idea, but making her Carrie Kelly is cooking. Also, we so rarely see main sidekicks of a different gender, which Carrie Kelly already is in DKR.
Red Hood with Red X seems like such a genius idea for Jason to be a mentor and giving him his own sidekick, that Im amazed they have yet to do it in DC Comics, I mean, they both have Red in their name and similar characteristics and values!? By the way, doesn't Zatanna canonically have a cousin called Zachary in the comics? If so, wouldn't it make sense for Zatanna to mentor him to be her own magical sidekick and his own hero with his knowledge of magic? I also love the idea of Zatanna being Raven's mentor, as there is a lot of potential there for Raven to see Zatanna as a guide and even almost like a big sister.
I think someone like Constantine could be a great duo with a young raven. He’s dealt with plenty of demons and unlike raven who is always portrayed as very mature, Constantine is very childish but I think it would make a great team if he was the only one who knew how to imprison trigon and had to raise raven from a little girl until she was able to contain trigon herself. Seeing them grow together as hero and sidekick would be interesting and also raven transitioning into her own independent hero like nightwing. I just think it would be a cool story
It's kinda funny to me that Nightwing could've had the perfect sidekick with Cassandra Cain. Had Cassandra Cain been under Nightwing, it would've: - showed how far Nightwing has become as a Hero/Father compared to Batman - Would've allowed a Natural Progression and Transition for Batgirl - Explain why Cassandra Cain is so strong, and give her more Comics - Make the Batfamily feel less Convoluted, and a Mess, cause it'll be like a Tree branching out, rather than a Big Bush. Also, Nightwing & BlackBat can easily mirror DeathStroke & Ravager, and would further enhance DeathStroke & Nightwing's rivalry. The only thing I can see is that it'll probably upset some people as it may seal Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson, cause essentially Cassandra is like Barbara's daughter.
Yeah its shocking how Cassandra barely interacts with Nightwing or any of the other male Batfamily members asside from Bruce and Tim. But atleast we got that one story where Dick teaches Cass how to make pancakes.
I think a big reason that these characters don’t have sidekicks is because they often don’t get very much mainstream attention, and if they do then they’re often overshadowed by the bigger characters like Batman and Superman. And then characters like Zatanna, Booster Gold and Constantine really only get to be side characters and don’t usually get much spotlight on themselves
I think a universe where Shazam plays as the Robin/Nightwing to Wonder Woman would be incredible, as you've discussed in your Unpopular Opinions video on Billy
Heavy agree on Nightwing, Booster Gold and Red Hood. Tbh at this point, the fact Nightwing hasn't been given a sidekick yet is crazy, as I feel like it'd be great to give such a kind-hearted character like Nightwing, who understands the woes of being a sidekick, someone he can mentor, take care of and train to be the best version of themselves. Also as a side note, I know Bette Kane currently uses the name Flamebird but I think it'd be fitting as the name for Nightwing's sidekick. Booster Gold is such a chaotic character and he's the type of character that features a lot of growth and character development when well written, so I feel like a sidekick would really help him become the respected hero he deserves to be. Plus I'd just love to see Booster bond with an actual fan lol. And as for Red Hood and Red X, it'd be like Jason's way of doing the sidekick training 'right' in his eyes, wanting to prove he'll be a better mentor than Bruce, and also just wanting to give shelter and stability to a younger crime-fighter who he likely sees himself in. Again, I'd just love to see him bond with someone like that.
I mean, Bette herself could be that sidekick, like she wanted from the beginning, but instead of being a crazed fangirl, being someone who is trying to say "hey, I want to show that I came around, but I need you to teach me so I can become even better".

Nightwing was given a sidekick. I am noticing alot of comments don't know Damian was Dick's sidekick. On top of Dick had a sidekick even before Damian called Nite Wing.
This is one of those ideas that’s so brilliant I’m shocked I’ve never heard anyone say it before. Dick “technically” did have a sidekick in Damien while he was Batman but that’s not quite the same. Constantine showed an oddly endearing mentorship style in Books of Magic but the problem is people keep dying around him.
I'd say Black Lightning already has sidekicks in his daughters Thunder and Lightning, although I've said it hundreds of times, Duke Thomas\Signal should be a Black Lightning sidekick, just because they don't do anything with him as a Batman sidekick. Black Canary I'd argue had a sidekick evne without considering Red Canary (Sienna), her daughter Sin could be her sidekick, maybe age her up like they did with Lian Harper. It could be interesting having Dinah and Sin fighting crime as a mother and her adult daughter.

DC's B Tier heroes deserve more respect, with Marvel it feels like their A-Tier and B-Tier heroes get pretty great amounts of love, whereas DC it's like A-Tiers get everything and B-Tiers get almost nothing.
Sin has been aged up, but they're treating her as a kid sister now instead of daughter. She's merged with a monster plant and on the current BOP team, Red Canary works with Arrow Family only and is more of the Babs/Kara to Black Canary, not exactly a sidekick, just somebody who is self-diadect using an inspired named.
Taking the character name of Flamebird for Nightwing sidekick would be perfect as Nightwing in lore got his name from the Kryptonian hero Nightwing and who's partner was Flamebird.
I can see Booster gold as a mentor but a fraud mentor like in Mob psycho Where BG unintentionally helps someone and the hero looks up to him and BG is being a show off and the heroes see how he's full of it he is but the student doesnt see it that way or is just oblivious because how much he worships him and BG plays it off as the wisest, and strongest hero but in reality he's just a goofy character not too many characters take serious. And add in moments where he motivates and inspires his sidekick
Low key I think it would have been really cool if Damian had ended up becoming Nightwing’s sidekick instead of Robin since I think he works way better with Dick than Bruce when they were Batman. Their flipped dynamics was really fun with a brooding sidekick and fun hero. I honestly think Tim should have stayed Robin since he’s objectively the best Robin or perhaps explored more with a female Robin like Stephanie
I absolutely love these ideas for sidekicks for these heroes and I also had my ideas for sidekicks for majority of these heroes that you mentioned. For Nightwing, I could definitely see Nightwing gaining a sidekick or sidekicks or even partners especially in Bludhaven there’s so much that Dick has done for that city that it’s surprised that he hasn’t gotten any stories of having a sidekick yet. For me, I always viewed Dick to have more partners because if I remember correctly there was that one group while Dick had amnesia there was this team the Nightwings (Alphonse Sapienza, Malcolm Hutch, Zak Edwards and Colleen Edwards) I mean, I could easily see them coming back, but with their own codenames, but if them coming back is too much, the only one I could definitely see bringing back more would be more Malcolm Hutch. He has a bit more potential and even Nightwing was even impressed more so with him so I can see them bringing him back more to be the new partner to dick. For a black lightning, I can easily see that most of the time that Jeff already has sidekicks with his daughters, thunder and lightning, and especially even so with static, but at the same time I feel like static is the well established on his own. But I always had this vision that black lightning can easily establish more of an extended Superhero family of Metahumans and these characters. It would have some inspiration with the previous outsiders team during the brave and the bold era But instead, I would give some of them based off the black lightning TV show, but just give them more revamped characters like for instance I can see bringing back Painkiller with Khalil Payne, but make him the son of the original painkiller who’s a metahuman with paralytic venom, and along with the cybernetic enhancements, Geoffrey Barron Jr, but make him also the son of the original technocrat and again kinda like based off the show being a metahuman with the ability to control and communicate with technology, Erica Moran but make her the niece of the original fright train with the same ability of being able to absorb kinetic energy, and lastly Brandon Marshall as a new original character with a more revamped character history, and give him a new codename, but with the same earth based abilities.

Yes my baby girl , black canary does need a side kick thank you 😁 personally , she is a very good motherly figure and her personality ., fits very well and can make the kid feel very much at home , and I would prefer someone to have the same power as her
Here me out: Red Hood with Clown-Killer and...Harley Quinn! Since Clown-Killer is a teenager who badly wants to kill Joker, what better mentor than the one person who REALLY wants to kill him?! Harley would be there to balance the two, while pointing out that she's as much a victim of the Joker as they are but she's been able to move on from the hate and become a better person. At first Jason would want her dead because of what she represents to him, but he has to control himself because he wouldn't want Clown-Killer to end up like him and always choose the lethal option. From there, Jason could possibly move on from being in the shadow of Batman's greatest disappointment to walking his own path, being his own man, and having a new chance at a life of maturing and forgiveness.
I think that any Birds of Prey team is incomplete without Black Canary. I can see Huntress being a staple as well but mainly Black Canary. The other member/members are all up for discussion.
List of Villains that deserve sidekicks: *1. Two-Face:* preferably 2 so that one appeals to his good nature while the other tempts his dark side *2. Reverse Flash:* just pair him with Inertia, who is/was an evil clone of Bart Allen *3. General Zod:* I can totally see him training a young Kryptonian to join his mission and become his version of Superboy. Heck it could even be his own son! How would Zod parent his child, compared to Kal-El? *4. Circe:* since she’s a witch, I can see her taking on a disciple/apprentice who she’d train in the mystic arts. Maybe even someone like Klarion the Witch Boy? *5. Punchline:* imagine Joker’s 1st sidekick, Gaggy, becoming his latest sidekick’s sidekick and they both try to go after and kill Harley Quinn. (This one was mostly just for giggles)
Well I did thought Cheetah having a anti Steve Trevor just as Joker had Harley and Punchline and Lex had Mercy, I would have thought that Victor from the Penguin tv series would have stick around during Batman 2 but that didn’t happen.
It Zatanna was to get a sidekick it should be Anita Fite aka Empress. Zatanna was Empress’ replacement on Young Justice so I feel like her being Zatanna’s sidekick would be a great way to reintroduce her in DC comics since she’s kinda been lost to time. Also I feel like Zatanna is someone that values diverse fighting styles (which is why she works with Raven and Constantine from time to time) so I feel like she would like that fact that Empress is a Vodou practitioner instead of a witch or a magician or warlock

I really don't think Superman's ever truly had a sidekick. Not even when Kara arrived years ago, though he did say that if he ever did have one...Jimmy's it. I mean people like to think that Jimmy, Kara, Conner, Jon, Chris, the twins, the Steels, Power Girl, the angelic Linda, Lois and Lana when they have suits and such are sidekicks, but really when's Clark ever put anyone under the "sidekick" role? He doesn't build armies.... he builds families...despite what his father in law General Sam Lane thinks.
I personally think that Nightwing's sidekick should be Tim Drake because they have a very close brotherly relationship and Tim really needs some love and I don't think he really fits in the Bat Family anymore now that Damian is the new Robin
Nah Damian is Nightwing's sidekick. Their duo is just way too iconic and it doesn't make sense for Tim to try and be Dick's sidekick when he works better with Bruce. Honestly Tim is at the age where he shouldn't even be a sidekick. Heck even Damian is trying to move on from being sidekick now.
I thought Nightwing and Bluebird had a nice ring to it if Harper was Dick’s sidekick. Black Lightning and Static just makes a lot of sense and feels like it is a mentor-student thing that happened which was teased in Young Justice.
For me, personally, I'm done with the sidekick being a copy and paste of the older version. I like it when they're radically different but still do the same thing or share the same moniker. I always liked the dynamic of the the golden age duo: The star Spangled kid and Stripesy. Stripesy was the adult but sidekick but star Spangled was a kid. Then as he got older you couldn't tell who was the sidekick.
I agree with the foundation of Redd hood mentoring Red X. only if he trained a new vigilante to Dawn the cape has red x 3… considering the fact that Rob was the first and to this date nobody knows who the real Second Real red X Is… It would be redemption for the master and the student needing to clear the name of it’s infamous predecessors
I personally love sidekicks who don't have the same abilities/powers like their mentor. So I actually somewhat dislike many DC sidekicks like red arrow and kid flash because of that. I prefer mentor-mentee relationships like Batman&Flash (from the Flash Movie), Hawkey&Wanda (Avengers Age of Ultron/ civil war) and Iron Man&Spiderman (MCU). Therefore I could imagine Blue Beetle as a Nightwing sidekick (if it fits in the comics, idk I dont read them).
Great match up. Personally, if it came down to long range weaponry I'd give it to Punisher. If it came to close quarters combat/hand to hand, I'm giving it to Red Hood.

Raven could have a sidekick who is maybe scared of their powers because they are like raven, she could be able to give someone else the same help that she got from the titans
Pair Cyborg up with Sideways. Perfect match. Sideways meets all the criteria you described, plus it'll be a good way to one up Marvel's failure to consistently pair up Peter and Miles. Cyborg has had big, grandiose adventures that he's only involved in coz he's got motherbox technology, flinging him into the wider DC multiverse. Sideways is inherently involved in the multiverse (or at least pocket realities, coz let's maybe not do too much with the multiverse again) in a much grander way. Feugot is dead, Batman is too busy and not a good mentor for Derek, and it'll give us back a genuinely interesting character, while giving Vic a spotlight in a book that hopefully won't fall into obscurity
Nightwing needs a sidekick, but one related to him. Grayson has a much more homely feel to him than Bruce; if his mentee is his sister's child, that allows us to focus on both his hero and civilian sides and his trials and victories as a (sort of) father figure in and out of the costume. If not someone related to him, it needs to be someone brought into his life without his agency. Someone mentioned Cassandra Cain as a perfect fit if Bats didn't mentor her, and I agree. Plus Damian worked well with Grayson too. I think one similarity here is that these were dark kids thrown into his life. Whoever he takes on should be in a similar vein
Red Hood and Red X makes perfect sense. Red X is pretty much a kid's version of Red Hood, and I'm hoping they've retconned the 2nd and 3rd versions of Red X, completely erasing them from the current timeline
Idk a lot about Power Girl, so I'll talk about Supergirl. Supergirl doesn't need a Super-clan sidekick, but she does need someone strong or someone alien. I think it'll be good for Kara to have a sidekick that's not much younger than her as well. No one comes to mind right now, but I'd love to see it
Booster Gold is currently mentoring Jaime Reyes along with Ted, I believe. That said, it would be great to finally see Booster mentoring a time-displaced Rip Hunter, especially if Michael's been grounded to a localised section of time
I actually view that "Hellblazer" John Constantine like Doctor Stephen Strange are the Best Teachers of Magic across the board of all types and the costs associated with everything. Plus, they could literally form Academies will all of their Connections. Constantine and Strange could be like "Professor X" Charles Xavier and Magneto are for the X-Men and Mutant population. Constantine brings about Zatanna, Zatarra (if he's alive), Swamp Thing, Doctor Fate (especially Kent Nelson), "Green Lantern" Alan Scott, Black Adam, Animal Man, Vixen, and a ton of other Characters associated with the magical world. Raven could learn better control over her Powers. A Guy like The Question could learn to tap into Magic alongside "Red Hood" Jason Todd. This could be an entire Series and line of Comics.
Imagine beast boy can have the wonder twins as his sidesicks ,ik they are silly characters but you can reboot them make them younger and make them more serious
Actually though Nightwing never had a side-kick he has trained so many young heroes that I get why he never had an official one, Powergirl as Supergirl as a sidkick would be interesting, in Young Justice she kind of have sidekicks but not really and having a real student would be really cool, yes, Black Cannary has no proper sidekick, but she has mentor most of the Arrowfamily, definitely watching Black Lightning mentor not just his daughters but Static would be Great,... Booster Gold with Ted kord mentoring a new young hero would be something really interesting and I totally get your point with Constantine, and giving a Side kick to Red Hood may put the character on the right path, cause DC doesn´t seem to know what to do with the characters, so Tim as Red Robin could be also a great candidate for a side-kick or to lead (train and mentor) a team of new heroes
I thought that Zachary Zatara, Zatanna’s cousin, was her sidekick. As for Nightwing, maybe he could use with Blue Bird or Red Robin as his sidekick, or maybe both.
I think that it would be very interesting to see Red Hood mentor Red X because I have heard a theory that Red X is Jason Todd. What if both anti-heroes were different versions of the same guy?
i feel like the honeymoon of introducing new sidekicks are long over for DC, nowadays I don't really have the energy to get into/like a brand new sidekick.
I'm personally not a huge fan of sidekicks in general actually. Some I like some I don't. I feel as if they can be shoehorned in and can sometimes remove the focal point of the main hero.
Couldn't you just have miles or that spider-boy kid fill that role (or just undo that whole one more day thing abs have pete mentor his daughter mayday)
Not sure if anyone's said this (sorry if they have), but Nightwing could have Damian as his sidekick while Bruce gets Tim, with Dick and Damian in Bludhaven and Bruce and Tim in Gotham. That way Tim can reclaim his status as the main Robin and an important character that we follow in the Batman title, while Dick and Damian's dynamic will be similar to the way it was in Grant Morrison's run while they fight the villains from their run in Bludhaven and some original foes. Bruce and Damian in Gotham with Dick and Tim in Bludhaven wouldn't be bad either, maybe it's something they can experiment with a little bit; They can alternate from time to time depending on whose skills are needed at either location. I just think that Damian's personality was more so designed to be paired with Dick, and Bruce and Tim are a better team than Bruce and Damian or Dick and Tim.
I agree with most of the list, except Black Canary and Red Hood/X. I'm not a Dinah expert, but I once read she don't want to have kids so to not raise potential orphans, and I believe that feeling could extend to sidekicks as well. As for Red Hood/X, X is straight up a vile guy who would ruin a kid's life just to hurt Nightwing (someone who he definitely have a beef to). Jason would never train someone who is a psycho like that, and Damian would know better to not take this name. Also, Jason had a sidekick when he was still a villain (Morrison's run, if I remember correctly), so he'd probably have problems to guide someone if he ain't even sure if he's a hero or a villain, probably parting ways with anyone who tries to be his sidekick whenever he decides to change sides.
I think Dinah's mind set has changed since then since she has become a mentor and mother figure to several characters since then. But I agree about Red X. My idea for a sidekick for Jason is making a new version of Nocturna (based on Caped Crusader) Would be a nice call back to the first Nocturna who was basically like Jason's mother. It would force Jason to act more responsible and be a father to the girl.
Cyborg should either be a mentee to Steel or a mentor to static shock. People say black lightning but he already has his daughters. Id actually go with black vulcan from super friends

You know I thought you were going add Beastboy and Raven but they could be each other sidekicks as being partners and a couple like especially that if they were on their own without the Titans. But since we can’t call Beastboy Beastman because not only He-man but also King Kull the Beastman a member of the monster society of evil.
DC has really screwed over the Robin brothers: Dick is constantly objectified, Jason is underrated, Tim has so much potential but DC squanders it and makes poor choices for him and when fans hate it DC backtracks it and blames it on Tim's indecisive, and Damian is pretty much the star just because of his lineage, the biological son of Batman edging out his adopted sons.
I know these make sense so I'm sure DC won't do it...they only know Batman and Harley Quinn after all. Fanfic maybe? I had totally forgotten about Red X to be honest.
*Donna Troy and having her Son,Robert Long as a Sidekick.* Jeremy Adams did revive Robert along with Garth’s son and Mr. Terrific’s son. It would be interesting to see a Mother and Son superhero dynamic. It can lead some potential of Donna being a Single mother and hope her son won’t become a villain in the future. He was a Villain in *“Team Titans’* Future *Cassie Sandsmarks and Kid Yara Flor.* It would be interesting that Cassie would have her own sidekick. Cassie has proven herself to be a great leader in both Young Justice and Teen Titans. Even in the Young Justice cartoon she is a good leader when Beast Boy has despression. So why not make Cassie a mentor and Yara the sidekick. Like make Cassie the adult and Yara the kid. Sadly Cassie and Donna only be part of Teams and supporting characters. *Captain Atom and Bombshell.* They have the same powers but they have never met. Big Barda. Remember there is a character called *Little Barda.* Shame little Barda will never met her role model because she part of Cyborg’s Teen Titans East team. And you know the rest. I mean Scott Free got a successor, Shilo Norman. So why Little Barda never met Big Barda?

Brick being Red X just to get revenge at Dick Grayson who think he is his dad pisses me off to no end. Even Red X seem to be out of character. He just a simply thief but Sheridan wrote Red X like he is Deathstroke who hates the titans. It just out character for him. Also Megabat kids said Brick is the 4th Red X. If Dick Grayson is the 1st Red X, and The 2nd Red X is unknown. *Who is the 3rd Red X?* And that “3rd Red X” never appeared in Titans Academy. So that can be the only way to make the 3rd Red x team up with Red Hood. Ugh Thinking about Red X in Titans academy makes me angry.

In my own headcanon Nightwing gets a sidekick in the main continuity and it is someone by the name of Flamebird, to pay homage to the tale Superman told him that inspired the name Nightwing to begin with. The catch of this all is that Flamebird is Carrie Kelley. That way it gives her a way to shine outside of the dark knight returns story where I feel like she is viewed as a throw away Robin.

By the way, doesn't Zatanna canonically have a cousin called Zachary in the comics? If so, wouldn't it make sense for Zatanna to mentor him to be her own magical sidekick and his own hero with his knowledge of magic? I also love the idea of Zatanna being Raven's mentor, as there is a lot of potential there for Raven to see Zatanna as a guide and even almost like a big sister.
I think someone like Constantine could be a great duo with a young raven. He’s dealt with plenty of demons and unlike raven who is always portrayed as very mature, Constantine is very childish but I think it would make a great team if he was the only one who knew how to imprison trigon and had to raise raven from a little girl until she was able to contain trigon herself. Seeing them grow together as hero and sidekick would be interesting and also raven transitioning into her own independent hero like nightwing. I just think it would be a cool story
It's kinda funny to me that Nightwing could've had the perfect sidekick with Cassandra Cain. Had Cassandra Cain been under Nightwing, it would've:
- showed how far Nightwing has become as a Hero/Father compared to Batman
- Would've allowed a Natural Progression and Transition for Batgirl
- Explain why Cassandra Cain is so strong, and give her more Comics
- Make the Batfamily feel less Convoluted, and a Mess, cause it'll be like a Tree branching out, rather than a Big Bush.
Also, Nightwing & BlackBat can easily mirror DeathStroke & Ravager, and would further enhance DeathStroke & Nightwing's rivalry.
The only thing I can see is that it'll probably upset some people as it may seal Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson, cause essentially Cassandra is like Barbara's daughter.

I think a big reason that these characters don’t have sidekicks is because they often don’t get very much mainstream attention, and if they do then they’re often overshadowed by the bigger characters like Batman and Superman. And then characters like Zatanna, Booster Gold and Constantine really only get to be side characters and don’t usually get much spotlight on themselves
That's a major problem with DC. They focus WAY too much on just Superman and Batman.

Tbh at this point, the fact Nightwing hasn't been given a sidekick yet is crazy, as I feel like it'd be great to give such a kind-hearted character like Nightwing, who understands the woes of being a sidekick, someone he can mentor, take care of and train to be the best version of themselves. Also as a side note, I know Bette Kane currently uses the name Flamebird but I think it'd be fitting as the name for Nightwing's sidekick.
Booster Gold is such a chaotic character and he's the type of character that features a lot of growth and character development when well written, so I feel like a sidekick would really help him become the respected hero he deserves to be. Plus I'd just love to see Booster bond with an actual fan lol.
And as for Red Hood and Red X, it'd be like Jason's way of doing the sidekick training 'right' in his eyes, wanting to prove he'll be a better mentor than Bruce, and also just wanting to give shelter and stability to a younger crime-fighter who he likely sees himself in. Again, I'd just love to see him bond with someone like that.
I mean, Bette herself could be that sidekick, like she wanted from the beginning, but instead of being a crazed fangirl, being someone who is trying to say "hey, I want to show that I came around, but I need you to teach me so I can become even better".

Constantine showed an oddly endearing mentorship style in Books of Magic but the problem is people keep dying around him.
I'd say Black Lightning already has sidekicks in his daughters Thunder and Lightning, although I've said it hundreds of times, Duke Thomas\Signal should be a Black Lightning sidekick, just because they don't do anything with him as a Batman sidekick. Black Canary I'd argue had a sidekick evne without considering Red Canary (Sienna), her daughter Sin could be her sidekick, maybe age her up like they did with Lian Harper. It could be interesting having Dinah and Sin fighting crime as a mother and her adult daughter.
Signal practically was BL's sidekick during that Outsiders run, so you not too far off on that mark.

Sin has been aged up, but they're treating her as a kid sister now instead of daughter. She's merged with a monster plant and on the current BOP team, Red Canary works with Arrow Family only and is more of the Babs/Kara to Black Canary, not exactly a sidekick, just somebody who is self-diadect using an inspired named.

Where BG unintentionally helps someone and the hero looks up to him and BG is being a show off and the heroes see how he's full of it he is but the student doesnt see it that way or is just oblivious because how much he worships him and BG plays it off as the wisest, and strongest hero but in reality he's just a goofy character not too many characters take serious. And add in moments where he motivates and inspires his sidekick
Low key I think it would have been really cool if Damian had ended up becoming Nightwing’s sidekick instead of Robin since I think he works way better with Dick than Bruce when they were Batman. Their flipped dynamics was really fun with a brooding sidekick and fun hero. I honestly think Tim should have stayed Robin since he’s objectively the best Robin or perhaps explored more with a female Robin like Stephanie
I absolutely love these ideas for sidekicks for these heroes and I also had my ideas for sidekicks for majority of these heroes that you mentioned.
For Nightwing, I could definitely see Nightwing gaining a sidekick or sidekicks or even partners especially in Bludhaven there’s so much that Dick has done for that city that it’s surprised that he hasn’t gotten any stories of having a sidekick yet. For me, I always viewed Dick to have more partners because if I remember correctly there was that one group while Dick had amnesia there was this team the Nightwings (Alphonse Sapienza, Malcolm Hutch, Zak Edwards and Colleen Edwards) I mean, I could easily see them coming back, but with their own codenames, but if them coming back is too much, the only one I could definitely see bringing back more would be more Malcolm Hutch. He has a bit more potential and even Nightwing was even impressed more so with him so I can see them bringing him back more to be the new partner to dick.
For a black lightning, I can easily see that most of the time that Jeff already has sidekicks with his daughters, thunder and lightning, and especially even so with static, but at the same time I feel like static is the well established on his own. But I always had this vision that black lightning can easily establish more of an extended Superhero family of Metahumans and these characters. It would have some inspiration with the previous outsiders team during the brave and the bold era But instead, I would give some of them based off the black lightning TV show, but just give them more revamped characters like for instance I can see bringing back Painkiller with Khalil Payne, but make him the son of the original painkiller who’s a metahuman with paralytic venom, and along with the cybernetic enhancements, Geoffrey Barron Jr, but make him also the son of the original technocrat and again kinda like based off the show being a metahuman with the ability to control and communicate with technology, Erica Moran but make her the niece of the original fright train with the same ability of being able to absorb kinetic energy, and lastly Brandon Marshall as a new original character with a more revamped character history, and give him a new codename, but with the same earth based abilities.

Red Hood with Clown-Killer and...Harley Quinn!
Since Clown-Killer is a teenager who badly wants to kill Joker, what better mentor than the one person who REALLY wants to kill him?! Harley would be there to balance the two, while pointing out that she's as much a victim of the Joker as they are but she's been able to move on from the hate and become a better person. At first Jason would want her dead because of what she represents to him, but he has to control himself because he wouldn't want Clown-Killer to end up like him and always choose the lethal option. From there, Jason could possibly move on from being in the shadow of Batman's greatest disappointment to walking his own path, being his own man, and having a new chance at a life of maturing and forgiveness.
Sound like the making of an Outlaws team.

I think that any Birds of Prey team is incomplete without Black Canary. I can see Huntress being a staple as well but mainly Black Canary. The other member/members are all up for discussion.
List of Villains that deserve sidekicks:
*1. Two-Face:* preferably 2 so that one appeals to his good nature while the other tempts his dark side
*2. Reverse Flash:* just pair him with Inertia, who is/was an evil clone of Bart Allen
*3. General Zod:* I can totally see him training a young Kryptonian to join his mission and become his version of Superboy. Heck it could even be his own son! How would Zod parent his child, compared to Kal-El?
*4. Circe:* since she’s a witch, I can see her taking on a disciple/apprentice who she’d train in the mystic arts. Maybe even someone like Klarion the Witch Boy?
*5. Punchline:* imagine Joker’s 1st sidekick, Gaggy, becoming his latest sidekick’s sidekick and they both try to go after and kill Harley Quinn. (This one was mostly just for giggles)
Well I did thought Cheetah having a anti Steve Trevor just as Joker had Harley and Punchline and Lex had Mercy, I would have thought that Victor from the Penguin tv series would have stick around during Batman 2 but that didn’t happen.

It Zatanna was to get a sidekick it should be Anita Fite aka Empress. Zatanna was Empress’ replacement on Young Justice so I feel like her being Zatanna’s sidekick would be a great way to reintroduce her in DC comics since she’s kinda been lost to time. Also I feel like Zatanna is someone that values diverse fighting styles (which is why she works with Raven and Constantine from time to time) so I feel like she would like that fact that Empress is a Vodou practitioner instead of a witch or a magician or warlock

I really don't think Superman's ever truly had a sidekick. Not even when Kara arrived years ago, though he did say that if he ever did have one...Jimmy's it.
I mean people like to think that Jimmy, Kara, Conner, Jon, Chris, the twins, the Steels, Power Girl, the angelic Linda, Lois and Lana when they have suits and such are sidekicks, but really when's Clark ever put anyone under the "sidekick" role? I always liked the dynamic of the the golden age duo: The star Spangled kid and Stripesy. Stripesy was the adult but sidekick but star Spangled was a kid. Then as he got older you couldn't tell who was the sidekick.

I personally love sidekicks who don't have the same abilities/powers like their mentor. So I actually somewhat dislike many DC sidekicks like red arrow and kid flash because of that. I prefer mentor-mentee relationships like Batman&Flash (from the Flash Movie), Hawkey&Wanda (Avengers Age of Ultron/ civil war) and Iron Man&Spiderman (MCU).
Therefore I could imagine Blue Beetle as a Nightwing sidekick (if it fits in the comics, idk I dont read them).

I’m surprised that given black Canary’s music pop star recent theme, they haven’t got a title like: Black Canary swan song tour and she gets her opening acts to become her pupils both musically and as vigilantes.
Raven could have a sidekick who is maybe scared of their powers because they are like raven, she could be able to give someone else the same help that she got from the titans

Pair Cyborg up with Sideways. Perfect match. Sideways meets all the criteria you described, plus it'll be a good way to one up Marvel's failure to consistently pair up Peter and Miles. Cyborg has had big, grandiose adventures that he's only involved in coz he's got motherbox technology, flinging him into the wider DC multiverse. Sideways is inherently involved in the multiverse (or at least pocket realities, coz let's maybe not do too much with the multiverse again) in a much grander way. Feugot is dead, Batman is too busy and not a good mentor for Derek, and it'll give us back a genuinely interesting character, while giving Vic a spotlight in a book that hopefully won't fall into obscurity
Nightwing needs a sidekick, but one related to him. Grayson has a much more homely feel to him than Bruce; if his mentee is his sister's child, that allows us to focus on both his hero and civilian sides and his trials and victories as a (sort of) father figure in and out of the costume. If not someone related to him, it needs to be someone brought into his life without his agency. Someone mentioned Cassandra Cain as a perfect fit if Bats didn't mentor her, and I agree. Plus Damian worked well with Grayson too. I think one similarity here is that these were dark kids thrown into his life. Whoever he takes on should be in a similar vein
Red Hood and Red X makes perfect sense. Red X is pretty much a kid's version of Red Hood, and I'm hoping they've retconned the 2nd and 3rd versions of Red X, completely erasing them from the current timeline
Idk a lot about Power Girl, so I'll talk about Supergirl. Supergirl doesn't need a Super-clan sidekick, but she does need someone strong or someone alien. I think it'll be good for Kara to have a sidekick that's not much younger than her as well. No one comes to mind right now, but I'd love to see it
Booster Gold is currently mentoring Jaime Reyes along with Ted, I believe. That said, it would be great to finally see Booster mentoring a time-displaced Rip Hunter, especially if Michael's been grounded to a localised section of time

I actually view that "Hellblazer" John Constantine like Doctor Stephen Strange are the Best Teachers of Magic across the board of all types and the costs associated with everything. Plus, they could literally form Academies will all of their Connections. Constantine and Strange could be like "Professor X" Charles Xavier and Magneto are for the X-Men and Mutant population. Constantine brings about Zatanna, Zatarra (if he's alive), Swamp Thing, Doctor Fate (especially Kent Nelson), "Green Lantern" Alan Scott, Black Adam, Animal Man, Vixen, and a ton of other Characters associated with the magical world. Raven could learn better control over her Powers. A Guy like The Question could learn to tap into Magic alongside "Red Hood" Jason Todd. This could be an entire Series and line of Comics.

Booster Gold with Ted kord mentoring a new young hero would be something really interesting and I totally get your point with Constantine, and giving a Side kick to Red Hood may put the character on the right path, cause DC doesn´t seem to know what to do with the characters, so Tim as Red Robin could be also a great candidate for a side-kick or to lead (train and mentor) a team of new heroes

i feel like the honeymoon of introducing new sidekicks are long over for DC, nowadays I don't really have the energy to get into/like a brand new sidekick.
I'm personally not a huge fan of sidekicks in general actually. Some I like some I don't. I feel as if they can be shoehorned in and can sometimes remove the focal point of the main hero.
Nightwing did have a side kick and she SA him and tried to marry him. He does not want a sidekick because he has trust issues due to past experience.

Not sure if anyone's said this (sorry if they have), but Nightwing could have Damian as his sidekick while Bruce gets Tim, with Dick and Damian in Bludhaven and Bruce and Tim in Gotham. That way Tim can reclaim his status as the main Robin and an important character that we follow in the Batman title, while Dick and Damian's dynamic will be similar to the way it was in Grant Morrison's run while they fight the villains from their run in Bludhaven and some original foes.
Bruce and Damian in Gotham with Dick and Tim in Bludhaven wouldn't be bad either, maybe it's something they can experiment with a little bit; They can alternate from time to time depending on whose skills are needed at either location. I just think that Damian's personality was more so designed to be paired with Dick, and Bruce and Tim are a better team than Bruce and Damian or Dick and Tim.

I agree with most of the list, except Black Canary and Red Hood/X.
I'm not a Dinah expert, but I once read she don't want to have kids so to not raise potential orphans, and I believe that feeling could extend to sidekicks as well.
As for Red Hood/X, X is straight up a vile guy who would ruin a kid's life just to hurt Nightwing (someone who he definitely have a beef to). Jason would never train someone who is a psycho like that, and Damian would know better to not take this name.
Also, Jason had a sidekick when he was still a villain (Morrison's run, if I remember correctly), so he'd probably have problems to guide someone if he ain't even sure if he's a hero or a villain, probably parting ways with anyone who tries to be his sidekick whenever he decides to change sides.
I think Dinah's mind set has changed since then since she has become a mentor and mother figure to several characters since then.

You know I thought you were going add Beastboy and Raven but they could be each other sidekicks as being partners and a couple like especially that if they were on their own without the Titans. But since we can’t call Beastboy Beastman because not only He-man but also King Kull the Beastman a member of the monster society of evil.
DC has really screwed over the Robin brothers: Dick is constantly objectified, Jason is underrated, Tim has so much potential but DC squanders it and makes poor choices for him and when fans hate it DC backtracks it and blames it on Tim's indecisive, and Damian is pretty much the star just because of his lineage, the biological son of Batman edging out his adopted sons.
I know these make sense so I'm sure DC won't do it...they only know Batman and Harley Quinn after all.

The issue is that sidekicks don't last lang, grow too fast, aren't used steadily...I don't really think sidekicks are something DC likes anymore.

And I read Titans Academy. Brick being Red X just to get revenge at Dick Grayson who think he is his dad pisses me off to no end.
Even Red X seem to be out of character. He just a simply thief but Sheridan wrote Red X like he is Deathstroke who hates the titans. It just out character for him.
Also Megabat kids said Brick is the 4th Red X. If Dick Grayson is the 1st Red X, and The 2nd Red X is unknown. *Who is the 3rd Red X?* And that “3rd Red X” never appeared in Titans Academy.
So that can be the only way to make the 3rd Red x team up with Red Hood.
