yeah, dc needs to remember that there are other female characters other than amanda waller, and harley quinn. at this point we might as well just replace the batman, superman and wonder oman trinity with harley quinn, amanda walller and kite man.
DC: spotlight other female characters you say? Well then… here’s a new Poison Ivy series with her and Harley doing things…. What do you mean you want Wonder Woman? Who tf is that?
@@willbrgamer5137 It can't be helped, other than Batman DC doesn't have a single character that is actually interesting and engaging, there's a reason DC always falls back on it because everything else bombs financially or critically. Sometimes both lmao.
That especially pisses me off because she’s so fucking cool but her only really big appearances where we supporting characters, not but bad in it of herself but as someone who wants to get into the character, I would LOVE a show of her
Honestly, I want Wonder Woman to get an animated series just so I can watch her fight. Wonder Womans fights across some of the animated stuff have been some of the best.
Dude the fact that WW is even better then Batman, or on his level is insane. The potential is there for hella nice fights. Though i feel like animes do better with fighting. Was kinda pissed when Superman one shotted the world Forger, not even a fight just BS plot armor.
@@curt349 I rather see a buffed WW go against Justice League Threats. Cheetah is horrible. A crappy furry. Circe might be good or bad I don't know. I just know out of most DC and Marvel characters, WW has one of the worst sets of villians. Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Spiderman, iron man have much better villians. In order to fix that writers need to make more good villians. Her one good villian is Ares though I'll give you that.
DC almost never wants to give any of their female characters content besides Harley and that’s just because she’s a Batman character and literally none of their characters except for maybe Superman matter to them compared to Batman. It’s crazy how little faith DC has in their female characters, especially Wonder Woman, given she has shown multiple times that her content sells and yet they just refuse to acknowledge it or are too stupid to see it. It’s such a shame.
They are also doing the same thing to male characters as well when have we ever get a Nightwing show or even lesser-known characters should get their own show

@@lordarekusandathey're only called that because they both appeared in that book for so long alongside Green Arrow and Aquaman during the time when only Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and Aquaman (Adam Waterman) were allowed to be published in the 1950's before the introduction of Barry Allen, Arthur Curry, Hal Jordan, Ray Palmer and the return to action of the Hawks in current continuity (or the debut of the aliens in Pre-Crisis Earth-1) and it was more of a showcase book back then that also allowed the debut of Sandman and some of The Captain's and Hawkman's stories during the silver age alongside the usual 4...including later adding Black Canary to the Green Arrow segments or giving her a few spots too. If anything DC needs to go back to having book formats like that where team books and anthology series are for "lesser knowns" again. Overexposure of Superman and Batman is harming DC and I'm a Superman fan. Limiting the exposure of these two...especially Bruce will help. Just shift Big 3 mandate focus to Diana, she can play both ends and then when Superman and Batman both show up later...it will be more fantastic and surprising. Then if they need other regular show-ups for Diana, Arthur, Barry and Hal will do.
Her character was butchered. She was best with Joker. But now i dont give a shit about her character. Would be interesting if she joined the Batfamily and became a love interest of Batman. She might be crazy but shes also way more loyal then any of his lovers, besides mabye WW.
“Please bro just one more Harley based project bro I swear it won’t flop this time bro it will put us back on top bro please bro.” -Some random DC executive talking to Zaslav
Honestly if they make a Wonder Woman Animated Series, there are a few things that should be included: -Diana actually being a kind and caring person -A continous dynamic between Steve Trevor and Diana -Diana, Clark, and Bruce actualy being best friends -Most importantly…Diana with a greatsword and lasso.
I would love for it to adress the issue with The Amazons and their ouble standards, which have put Diana in a tough spot more than once and she care about their culture. Also: give her villains a proper line-up of recurring antagonists! There is more than two of them. :( Plus: WonderGirl
Jason Iman said that during his time working at DC, they implemented a wide line mandate to push Harley as the "Fourth Pillar of DC Comics". Since then, we've see Harley get 4 movies, an animated series and a triple A video game. This is by design.
From what I've heard, there was a time when she sold enough merchandise to justify that spot. Alas, that time has past, but they've yet to adjust their plans to the new reality.
@@yourarchnemesis8453 I wish. But they gave up in making the Titan be primary league . They just went band together the justice league after disbanding them after last crisis event in comic
So they picked the single worst female charecter possible to represent women? Like Harley is a walking example of how women shouldn't act, and she has no character outside of this. Harleys charecter is being mentally deranged
@@TheSsjJokerBecause it doesn’t sell. Wonder Woman has never sold well in the comics, even in her best runs. Her villains list is lacking and she couldn’t support her own animated series. No it’s because when they do decide to make a female superhero show they always hire DEI writers and directors. Ultimately making the show super cringy and alienating the core fans.

Not just how much Harley Quinn has been shoved down our throats, it also how she’s characterized that sucks because they’re basically trying to make her DC’s Deadpool instead of Harley Quinn.
Still pissed about them making Cassandra Cain a sucky harper row so that Harley Quinn could shine in the movie. Mother fuckers just put harper row into the movie and foreshadow Cassandra Cain by finding one of David Cain's tapes and then introduce Shiva. As a matter of fact Shiva would have made a better villain, she constantly kills other villain's, would take most of the birds seriously(except Harley) and batman typically loses against her so they're on their own.
Why wonder woman hasn’t got a god of war style game is beyond me. There are so many badass female protagonist in gaming like samus and Lara Croft that have aura out the ass in part bc they are women
But those characters are grandfathered, or should I say GRANDMOTHERED in when it comes to the video game space. Any female character new to the space would no doubt be subjected to the online bull spit you see today.
The Norse God of war games are still canon in God of war the only thing they rebooted is the gameplay but otherwise lore wise it is still Canon that's what a soft reboot is so no God of war is not fully rebooted only the game play has been rebooted they didn't reboot the entire universe like the previous games didn't exist because they still do
None of the wonder girls were even in that Teen Titans cartoon smh, Wonder Woman and the Wonder Girls can't get any love. That Harley BoP movie was such an insult to BoP AND Cass Cain. It's also a crime most people dont even know who tf Zatanna is. WB is incompetent.
Apparently, Wonder Girl was in the background in the final season of Teen Titans as one of the heroes they recruited, but they couldn't say her name or reference her onscreen because of the DC embargo and Justice League Unlimited was still airing.
So apparently there's a reason why the Wonder Girls have never shown up in other media pre-2010s: DC has weird rules for how and where certain characters can show up (hence why Batman rarely shows up in live action TV shows. It was a DC rule). For Wonder Woman, there was a rule where she was not allowed to show up unless she was a main character. The DCAU Justice League allowed her but not the 2004 The Batman cartoon, even though the rest of the Justice League showed up in season 5. Apparently this rule also extends to her villains and supporting cast, hence why Donna or Cassie were exiled from the Teen Titans cartoon. It wasn't until Young Justice and Greg Weisman pleading on behalf of the Wonder family that DC negotiated the Wonder Woman contract to allow for these characters to show up more often. Aren't contracts fun, kids?
@@Oddash-lz6kw actually The Batman would have allowed her in the finale, but since they couldn't find a good android design for her to face, they did a cop-out cut (as they had her design and voice actress already) instead of doing something so easy that it wasn't even funny. Just say Diana couldn't be duplicated and have her show up and save the boy's collective rear ends and razz Babs for not taking charge to keep the boys in line sooner only for Babs to say Robin's given her more than enough trouble because...she's not allowed to make that pun. The Wonder Embargo also really had more to do with Wonder Girl than Wonder Woman due to how JLU and Teen Titans were in production at the same time and both shows had a Wonder Chick-Fight. JLU wanted to be "Wonder Woman and the JLA" (as you see in JLU Diana acts more like Byrne/Rucka Wonder Woman than Atomic Age Bob Kanigher Wonder Woman), and have Donna and Cassie show up too, but Teen Titans also wanted Donna since they were loosely adapting the Wolfman/Perez run and wanted to have Dick, Donna, Wally, Gar, Vic, Kori and Rachel all together since that was the Teen Magnificent 7. DC got sick of in-fighting so *(In Susan Sullivan's Hippolyta voice shaking her sword at the writers with one hand and wagging her finger with the other)* "If you can't play nice with my daughters and niece Cassie, you can't play with them at all!"
The executive Boomers at the top might have been alive when the comics were written but it seems they don't know what the market wants, to much coke fried their brains, can't learn anything new unless it has a billion in profit after it. And the middle management that delivers them reports and suggestions seems as incompetent, their only saving grace is that they didn't have BudLight kind of ideas. But it's never to late for Harley Quinn to transition and become the new Batman
It's not just the pushing of Harley Quinn, but the pushing of her onto women as some kind of role model. That would be like pushing Joker as a male role model
Worse. Harley herself is not as bad as Joker, but she's in love with him. They are telling women to fall for the worst man possible and sticking with him.
It's because they changed her orientation, they want her to be seen in the positive light now, even going to so far as to have her her join the bat-family(which makes no sense), they are doing same thing with Ivy too.

DC easily has the best female characters from the big 2 (Dc & Marvel) They have Zatanna, Starfire, Raven, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Hawkgirl, Big Barda, Vixen, Jessica Cruz, Artemis, Donna Troy, Black Alice, Talia Al Ghul, and so many more it’s not even funny. They’ve been seriously slept on

I’m positive the reason Harley Quinn is used so much because she is tied to Batman. It’s like DC doesn’t acknowledge any of their own characters that isn’t tangentially related to Batman.
Okay imma be a bit honest I don't think Starfire has a lot of standalone power she needs at least someone to bounce off of for her to shine.Does it have to be a member of the TItans? No,But it needs someone from Earth otherwise if feel it kinda falls flat
Being a Lois Lane stan is pain bc some writers will take this crazy, utterly unhinged, stubborn, badass, military-raised woman and dumb her down to “the wifey” character. She’s done SO wrong by DC.
I love how Clark came to the realization in brainiac attack: she will always run head first into trouble with or without Superman, it’s a miracle she even survive this long 😂

Realistically I prefer barbara as oracle. Best comic book runs DC needs to stop fumbling in my opinion: •Barbara Gordon as the Oracle/Og Batgirl •Cassandra Cain as Batgirl •Stephanie brown as the Spoiler •Harper Row (Honestly even without the suit she's still goated) •No idea who the wonder girls are, If you mean Lizzie I agree tho. Response to your list: •Lois lane I never really cared for so...... •Black cannary is almost always used well in shows and comics •Its strange how zatanna is constantly disrespected by DC despite how op and crucial she is in justice league comics •Vixen honestly seems to do pretty good. DC doesn't seem to mess up there so I'm uncertain why she's on this list My favorite DC comics were the Cassandra Cain Batgirl ones (literally all of them except when she's evil)
All these characters have the love of all DC fans, neither you are a goddamn moron, or an extreme sexiest, you know damn well how long they have been around, and you say no one loves fucking Lois Lane, Bat-Girl and Wonder Woman? How fucking Dare you make such lies, do you have no shame?
Let's be fair. Some shitty writers and directors tainted the waters, so of course people are going to cry about wokeness. We are going to need something really, REALLY good to fix that.
Why would they be scared to be called "woke"? It's an african-american slang for people that are aware of social issues. Also, if you're going to get scared of what a bunch of insecure men are going to say about you, maybe you're not the right person to be writing about a female character...
@julio.dealmeidabranconeto5831 Well when those "insecure men" are your customers, you should listen to them. Or just continue to let the books fail by ignoring the majority of their primary demographic. Manga with good writing and hot characters will just continue to out sell them.
It’s the other way around. They’re not scared of being called woke, they’re sacred of being called a sexist. Which is the opposite of woke. Woke is the goal, being sexist is not.
It really is confusing that there's been a Batman the Animated Series and Superman the Animated Series but no Wonder Woman the Animated Series. Like, where is she?
People don't understand how hardcore Supergirl actually is. Like, homegirl became a whole-ass Red Lantern one time; that's the Lantern core for people with Hulk, Kratos and Asura level anger issues. And don't get me started on Wonder Woman. There's that time when she unlocked a new form where she had witch-powers. That was so badass and they did absolutely nothing with that. Smh
Another frustrating part is that the DC Heroines are much more likely to get their backstories and mythologies re-written or ignored: Wonder Woman's backstory keeps changing Donna Troy's backstory keeps changing Supergirl was both a shapeshifting alien and a reborn angel at one point Raven's backstory changed Starfire's supporting cast and planet got destroyed and also her backstory changed to be less interesting Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown were written out and then when they were added back in, they had their ages and competence downgraded to the point where they needed Batwoman and Barbara to train them (which kind of laughable given that Cassandra is the best fighter in the Bat-Family). And then there's the infamous "Killing Joke" that paralyzed Barbara; editorial had no plans to use her again and the editor at the time infamously said "Yeah cr*pple the b*cth" . I could go on- there's a lot of examples. The point I want to make is that when writers, editors, producers, etc don't care about characters, it shows and it's hard for a regular audience to get emotionally invested.
"when they were added back in, they had their ages and competence downgraded to the point where they needed Batwoman and Barbara to train them" huh!? when did that happen?(the training i mean)
@@alimahmoud1937 Detective Comics Rebirth had Batwoman train everyone (including Tim who should have more experience than her) and Batgirls stated that Steph and Cass's ages are between 13-15, which makes them younger than Damian who was introduced waaaay later. One of the writers tried to correct this by saying they were 17, which is still much younger than where they should have been and that's why Babs needed to 'mentor'.
Us: we want to wonder woman, Zatanna, or catwoman animated series Warner bros: Here Harley quinn The Animated series Us: Bruh! I'm just going to say this, and if you guys agreed with me on this one. I think Zatanna is a better choice for the isekai anime than Harley quinn and the Suicide squad because she has magic, and we know how much isekai loves magic like hell add our Doctor of magic himself DOCTOR FREAKING FATE in the anime that will better than too much Suicide Squad and Harley Quinn.
thats not the point of an isekai tho, you need characters that doens't know about magic, to learn about it, thats what makes it interesting, if you have a magic user in a different magic world is not that weird, he would be like "oh I get it, another dimension, I need to scape" thats boring
@artist0154 I know that, but It can be better with the main character not to act like it's a video game like Dragon Quest, more like Dark Souls. I liked Harley quinn as a character, but she has too much exposure to the suicide squad movie now. The other female heroes are waiting in line for the spotlight. And I like your higurashi profile picture
@@artist0154 Then if that's the case get someone like Barbara Gordon to make an Isekai on. That'll be more entertaining because you have someone whose perception of reality is rooted in science and speculation in a world that's pure fantasy.
There have been multiple attempts to make a Wonder Woman show and more WW movies. Around 2010, Lauren Montgomery, the director of the 2009 animated WW tried to make a show with Bruce Timm as producer, WB passed on it. The sequel to her 2009 WW movie was also shelved. Harley Quinn gets shows/movies because she sells a lot of merchandise.

These factors can cause a vicious circle: Media producers don’t think female led works will sell -> Female led works don’t get resources to make them good-> Works aren’t good-> Works don’t make money-> Media producers don’t think female led works will sell. There are also other factors at work, such as the films getting released when fatigue was setting in.
Amanda Waller also gets way too much screentime in comparison to DC's actually popular female characters. Some of it is tied to the Squad oversaturation, but even beyond that she is getting her own series and was the main villain of the whole Absolute Power event in the comics. Like why are we getting more Amanda Waller than actual DC heroes? Like Vixen is right there!
Warner brothers doesn’t own Wonder Woman, they rent her from her creators family. Companies don’t like sharing profits, that’s why they don’t use her as much as they should.
Being a fan of the comic "Birds of Prey", I bought the Blue-ray without having seen the movie. It seriously TICKED ME OFF! It took the best all female comic book team and made a mockery of the comic! It not only didn't even depict my favorite caricature from the comic (Oracle, an openly disabled superhero), but it also TOTALLY EVISORATES the best new female superhero (Cassandra Cain's Batgirl) and turns her into a winey, scaredy cat, pickpocket!!!!!!
Well, Penguin is Batman adjacent and Black Adam was The Rock. That explains those two. Blue Beetle, if you want to be "demographically inclined" sews up the latino vote and Kiteman........yeah.......
@@L0V3000 I'm not sure about that. Not only is Blue Bettle a legacy character but newest character to take on the mantle is quite beloved showing up in Batman Brave and The Bold, DCAMU, Injustice 2 and his own solo movie which I loved. His animated series is gonna be like New Adventures of Spider-Man or Avengers Assemble where movie is canon but it can expand upon it.
It’s insane to me that JLU set up characters such as Vixen, Dr. Light, Fire, Ice and etc. but DC just squandered all of that potential with pushing them further for the GP 😭
YES thank you! I shared this exact experience with Supergirl. When I was little I always loved her character as she just felt like a stranger trying to fit into a new life. Though I would look back fondly at the impression she made on me I just felt indifferent to the character later on in life. It wasn't until My Adventures With Superman Season 2 that I remembered why I fell in love with the character in the first place. WB is sitting on a goldmine but somehow they keep killing all hype for these characters.
Even though Arrowverse Supergirl's show wasn't good, I'm glad she is appearing way more now than ever before. Yeah it's sad we still haven't gotten a WW show in forever. She really deserves it and needs to be shown more Batwoman was alright but I do want to see Barbara Gordon have her own show and problems. I really enjoyed Star girl and Naomi could have been much better, but we couldn't get that
You can even give her several power-up abilities too. I mean that whole armor is her gadgetry, and she invented all the anime tropes anyway. Lynda Carter herself came up with the iconic spin which has since been merged with the traditional lasso morph. Collapsable Boomerang tiara with a pager in it to boost her technopathy Barrier busting boots Power Booster Belt Indestructible Armor & lasso of truth made from Gaia's golden girdle forged by Hesphaestus Bullet deflecting bracelets Compressor Earrings. Then add Super Strength, Speed and Gliding that later turns into flight+ the original Magic School Bus, her invisible jet. Seriously...how is Diana having an Invisible Magic School Bus not cool?
You should do a follow up about Black Women! No love for Nubia, Vixen, Natasha Steel, Sojourner Mullein, or Deluge (just to name a few) outside of comics.
Just a reminder that, beyond her first movie being a success, Wonder Woman's current comic is also outselling Superman's current one by a LOT. Goes to show that she can sell when given the opportunity. The problem is that DC almost never gives her one... Edit: Also, M Enterprises comes back with another W take 🤣
7:36 There's a difference between being iconic, being popular and actually guaranteeing sales. That's why many members of the New Teen Titans don't receive their own solo series that lasts more than 12 issues that aren't cancelled due to low sales, despite being quite popular with the general public, unless they are Wally and Dick. Even Tim Drake's last solo, which everyone disliked, lasted longer than someone like Raven's solo before being canceled, despite her having much more exposure and it actually being written by her own creator, Marv Wolfman. Ivy currently has her own ongoing series that has lasted about 26 issues so far, which was actually a mini that was extended to an ongoing due to popularity. Harley has even lasted longer. In contrast, someone like Kori or Rae, who are very popular Titans, have had solos that lasted a maximum of 12 issues.
2:49 bro is wilding with the clip again (completely understandable though) 12:39 why they didn't just do a gotham city sirens movie ,(a team harley quinn is actually a member of and other characters in the roster are far well known to the general audience) is beyond me.
If I can name one thing I want from DC, please push for someone like Vixen or Starfire instead of the constant legacy characters who live in the shadows of Batman, Superman etc. Having all the female characters we get stories about be in the shadows of their popular male characters isn't great long term buisness. Make more female superhero 's also, it feels like DC' s creativity dies when they have to make an original female superhero who isn't just Superman or Batman but girl Wonder Woman, I'm not sure what to do with honestly.
The Marvel's could've performed well... if they focused on the plot, character, and story. Not to mention showing a bit of skin. I mean it is mostly a male audience.
The fact that HARLEY F***ING QUINN is getting a fifth season before Wonder Woman’s game has a release date is beyond alarming. If I have said it once I will say this a billion times… it’s like DC wants to relabel itself as Harlequin Comics
There is a problem with Wonder Woman, but it's fixable. Okay, suppose Superman didn't ever have a life as Clark Kent; he's just a superhero all the time, with no backstory that makes him a part of this culture, and no friends unrelated to superheroing. He'd lose a lot, wouldn't he? Unfortunately, that's where Wonder Woman is. Here's how I would opt to fix it. Let's say she was active at some point in the American past, maybe just 10 or 15 years ago. It might have been that her period of activity mostly went unnoticed. Then she disappeared for decades, and then she returned. What she was doing, was building a life in America. she wanted to understand this new country, so she built a life as Diana Prince. What sort of life? I can think of all sorts of options. But one way or another, give Diana some roots; and not just a familiarity with American culture, but also people she knows and cares about. My particular approach would be to leverage the Holliday Girls, the sorority that Etta Candy belonged to once. Make Diana a perpetual grad student at some university, give her friends, give her a non-superheroing life.
It's sad how little love female heroes are getting when they have some of the best stories in comics. Hoping James Gunn's DCU and whatever elseworlds projects that come up in the future can change that. 🤞
I will probably get a lot of flack for nitpicking this. But I always get annoyed when it comes to females in a "main cast" in shows, there are always fewer females than males. Got a group 5?: 3 Guys and 2 Women A Group of 4?: 3 guys and 1 Woman Group of 6,7,8,9 people? -6 guys, 3 Women -5 guys, 3 Women -4 guys, 3 Women -4 guys, 2 Women The only time where there are equal or more females in a main cast in media is if said media is meant for a female audience. Like I can't be the only one who finds that dumb?
Your gonna have to give examples because I don’t think the examples you give are that extreme it like it has to be exactly the same number what wrong with 4 to 3

Marvel female characters are not having it any better either despite having a successful universe there's not a single good female lead show/movie in mcu.
I enjoyed WandaVision, Agatha All Along and even Ms. Marvel in the MCU. The problem with MCU has to do with Episode Count more than writing. However I didn't enjoy She Hulk or Secret Invasion.
I think if DC want to make Wonder Woman more popular I feel like they have to make an animated series in an established universe and I think that would have to be MAWS universe because this would allow them to change some little things and see if they stick and that world is very different than the mainline usual universe you see and I feel like it can become the new DCAU with MAWS getting a 3rd season and maybe a movie expanding with Wonder Woman would make sense.
I'm definitely getting sick of being blamed for box office bombs. It's like I have no interest in Madam Web. Black Cat and Silver Sable are right there. Use them.

But this problem has happened long beforehand, I mean bruce Tim was going to try to drop Wonder Woman in a lot earlier but the studios kept saying no until he got to the Justice League and he said we need her there] Yes, I'm agreeing with you!
Harley also gets so much representation beacuse shes the self insert to any chick with issues EVER! And its super easy to make her a womens empowerment story or a gross fifty shades of gray reference.
I liked Supergirl on the CW and Batwoman. Though your critiques are valid. I think they hit harder for the Batwoman show's first season than Supergirl or the rest of the series. I LOVE Javicia as Ryan and i think the show got better when it had an original character as the lead. Supergirl got much better after the first season (most long lasting shows do). The reason they dud what they did for her character is that Supergirl hasn't had THAT much time to be their own character. She was dead for DECADES and then brought her back as a pre-teen, but still highly sexualized by the artists
See, I think that's another thing that's misunderstood. WB really started pushing Harley Quinn when Margot Robbie got the role. She is a star so they thought probably she would put Harley Quinn more on the map so they made more content after. And I do believe unfortunately a lot of people would not go and see a movie starring Raven, or just Starfire, things like that. I think that they will have to have a major male character from the teen Titans or something like that in the movie for it to somewhat be a success..

DC almost never wants to give any of their female characters content besides Harley and that’s just because she’s a Batman character and literally none of their characters except for maybe Superman matter to them compared to Batman. this isn't just a female character issue, DC and Marvel as a whole are in a depressing state.
they've been in a stale decline for like a decade.
Agreed. It's like we're seeing the same recycled storylines over and over.
Dc hasn't done anything reasonable in years, marvel is Off and On at least, but I think the problem with DC is WB.
Exactly!!!
Worse.
Harley herself is not as bad as Joker, but she's in love with him.
They are telling women to fall for the worst man possible and sticking with him.
And then there's the way they try to *Downplay* all the atrocities they *Know* they done let Harley get away with over the years.
It's because they changed her orientation, they want her to be seen in the positive light now, even going to so far as to have her her join the bat-family(which makes no sense), they are doing same thing with Ivy too.

@julio.dealmeidabranconeto5831 Well when those "insecure men" are your customers, you should listen to them.

Smh
I couldn't begin to describe my disappointment seeing how Huntress was treated in the DCEU.
Another frustrating part is that the DC Heroines are much more likely to get their backstories and mythologies re-written or ignored: Wonder Woman's backstory keeps changing
Donna Troy's backstory keeps changing
Supergirl was both a shapeshifting alien and a reborn angel at one point
Raven's backstory changed
Starfire's supporting cast and planet got destroyed and also her backstory changed to be less interesting
Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown were written out and then when they were added back in, they had their ages and competence downgraded to the point where they needed Batwoman and Barbara to train them (which kind of laughable given that Cassandra is the best fighter in the Bat-Family).
And then there's the infamous "Killing Joke" that paralyzed Barbara; editorial had no plans to use her again and the editor at the time infamously said "Yeah cr*pple the b*cth" .
I could go on- there's a lot of examples. The point I want to make is that when writers, editors, producers, etc don't care about characters, it shows and it's hard for a regular audience to get emotionally invested.

thats not the point of an isekai tho, you need characters that doens't know about magic, to learn about it, thats what makes it interesting, if you have a magic user in a different magic world is not that weird, he would be like "oh I get it, another dimension, I need to scape" thats boring
@artist0154 I know that, but It can be better with the main character not to act like it's a video game like Dragon Quest, more like Dark Souls. @@gabrielcarrasco9078Problem is, a lot female centric media is woke and filled with identity politics. The reason why female led movies aren’t taken seriously is because of self-inflicted woke identity politics/girlbossing. The fans are tainted by the BS that studios push with these characters, as a lot of these female characters aren’t written as actual characters but as ideologues for identity politics. If female characters were written better and written as actual people, then audiences would be more wiling to watch these movies. Like I said, the damage here is self-inflicted.
@themanofshadows Thats my point. People don't hate female led series or movies as long as it's good. Same is said of male leads.
@@themanofshadows I can't take someone seriously when they whine because of "woke" 😂 Man up
DC doesn’t care about anyone but Batman
True
I find Batman overrated to be honest.
Right
In a post Black Panther world, Vixen could have the same effect. Especially with the female market.
Personally I have nothing against female heroes and honestly I am all for them to be other media in the future the problem is not the characters oh no it’s more with the bad writing and direction for these characters by executives as a whole at least in my opinion.
Yeah, people often complain about "wokeness" and others complain about those who complain about "wokeness" but in reality, the difference between something like she-hulk and something like arcane is not them staring women, it's the quality being infinitely different.
@@josep754 agreed and frankly I am so tired of these idiots claiming a show or movie starting a female character is bad or god for bid that stupid word woke, which is bullshit because like you said it’s not that character is bad oh no it’s more of the bad writing and bad storytelling not the character itself In my opinion.
@@TevyaSmolka honestly if something is labelled 'woke' and the people working on it or mainstream/access media comes out to defend it by attacking the people calling it woke as anything like racist, sexist, misogynist, homophobic, transphobia, etc you should just write off the product as anything of quality since they are using a character's identity as a shield against criticism
What's the main problem of itself is not what gender of the characters it is the main problem of it that will always be around is writing or the creators not giving them any spotlight that they deserve they're always milking out the characters we already seen and know while pushing all others to the side why can't we get a show dedicated to the Batman family and not just Batman himself why not expand on the mythical aspects of the DC Universe as a show or a movie we never got anything more from that
@@wolfekupo5651 except some people took that word woke and misinterpret that word, and idiots use that word to not express criticism oh no, but idiots who use that word as a shield for there own agenda which is just dumb in my opinion.
Just adapt Gail Simone's *Birds of Prey* /Greg Rucka's *Batwoman* /Mark Andreyko's *Manhunter* /Sterling Gates' *Supergirl* /Kelly Puckett's *Batgirl* /Brian Miller's *Batgirl* and we'll be fine
We really need a WW animated show. I feel like the DCAU was the perfect chance for WW to get her own show alongside Batman and Superman.
Harley is so OVERRATED 🙄 so tired of her kmt smh.
There's just too much Harley and Joker media right now
Amanda Waller also gets way too much screentime in comparison to DC's actually popular female characters. Some of it is tied to the Squad oversaturation, but even beyond that she is getting her own series and was the main villain of the whole Absolute Power event in the comics. Like why are we getting more Amanda Waller than actual DC heroes? Like Vixen is right there!
Blame that on James Gunn 😂😂
Penguin, Kiteman, Black Adam, and Blue Beetle got a project before Zatanna. I don't understand.
Hey I fully agree with you on the fact that kite man and penguin getting a show before zatanna is wild
Well, Penguin is Batman adjacent and Black Adam was The Rock. That explains those two. Blue Beetle, if you want to be "demographically inclined" sews up the latino vote and Kiteman........yeah.......
I think Blue Bettle makes sense.
@kendi5391 before Zatanna though? Blue Beetle isn't as popular.
A raven origin movie on azarath and a starfire origin movie on her planet would go crazyyyyyyyyyy

Even though Arrowverse Supergirl's show wasn't good, I'm glad she is appearing way more now than ever before.
Yeah it's sad we still haven't gotten a WW show in forever. She really deserves it and needs to be shown more
Batwoman was alright but I do want to see Barbara Gordon have her own show and problems.
I really enjoyed Star girl and Naomi could have been much better, but we couldn't get that
genuinely tho a Wonder Woman anime would have been so fucking cool. her lore is so fucking mystical nd dense that you could do seasons of ts
You can even give her several power-up abilities too. I mean that whole armor is her gadgetry, and she invented all the anime tropes anyway.
Lynda Carter herself came up with the iconic spin which has since been merged with the traditional lasso morph.
Collapsable Boomerang tiara with a pager in it to boost her technopathy
Barrier busting boots
Power Booster Belt
Indestructible Armor & lasso of truth made from Gaia's golden girdle forged by Hesphaestus
Bullet deflecting bracelets
Compressor Earrings.
Then add Super Strength, Speed and Gliding that later turns into flight+ the original Magic School Bus, her invisible jet.
Seriously...how is Diana having an Invisible Magic School Bus not cool?
I love Harley but she is WAYYYY over saturated it’s so sooo annoying I would love to have a Wonder Woman animated show
Wonder Woman and Zatanna stay getting disrespected by DC, but HARLEY QUINN keeps getting pushed for some reason, she's not even interesting anymore
wonder woman has SO MUCH potential is nausiating taht they dont give her a series
You should do a follow up about Black Women! No love for Nubia, Vixen, Natasha Steel, Sojourner Mullein, or Deluge (just to name a few) outside of comics.
I hope they put the new character Jenny Crisis into this James Gunn authority movie
The fact they need to stop underutilizing the female characters and give them an actual lead in some storylines
Just a reminder that, beyond her first movie being a success, Wonder Woman's current comic is also outselling Superman's current one by a LOT.
Goes to show that she can sell when given the opportunity. The problem is that DC almost never gives her one...
Edit: Also, M Enterprises comes back with another W take 🤣
Absolute Wonder Woman is set to be the most popular one out of the new Absolute universe too so yeah she’s a genuine seller when given the chance
I wanna see more of Zatanna, Vixen, Batwoman, Huntress,Catwoman
I agree with your list. Add Hawkgirl and I think you've got a very nice group to work with.

There's a difference between being iconic, being popular and actually guaranteeing sales.
I honestly want Huntress to get more spotlight, she's really interesting but DC does nothing with her.
2:49 bro is wilding with the clip again (completely understandable though)
12:39 why they didn't just do a gotham city sirens movie ,(a team harley quinn is actually a member of and other characters in the roster are far well known to the general audience) is beyond me.
😂 2:55
That's exactly what I've been saying for a while, a Gotham City Sirens movie with Harley, Catwoman and Poison Ivy would've been miles better.
If I can name one thing I want from DC, please push for someone like Vixen or Starfire instead of the constant legacy characters who live in the shadows of Batman, Superman etc. Having all the female characters we get stories about be in the shadows of their popular male characters isn't great long term buisness.
Make more female superhero 's also, it feels like DC' s creativity dies when they have to make an original female superhero who isn't just Superman or Batman but girl
Wonder Woman, I'm not sure what to do with honestly.
Thank God we'll be having Hawkgirl in Superman '25. I don't think she's been in anything prominent in DC since Justice League Unlimited.

In case of The Marvels, I think the main flop was due to the marketing and writers strike. Other than that, you’re 100% correct
The marvels was garbage
The Marvel's could've performed well... if they focused on the plot, character, and story. Not to mention showing a bit of skin. I mean it is mostly a male audience.
The fact that HARLEY F***ING QUINN is getting a fifth season before Wonder Woman’s game has a release date is beyond alarming. If I have said it once I will say this a billion times… it’s like DC wants to relabel itself as Harlequin Comics
Thank goodness for Stargirl. She is carrying DC's female adaptations.
The problem is that they’re constantly overshadowed by Harley Quinn
Got a group 5?: 3 Guys and 2 Women
A Group of 4?: 3 guys and 1 Woman
Group of 6,7,8,9 people?
-6 guys, 3 Women
-5 guys, 3 Women
-4 guys, 3 Women
-4 guys, 2 Women
The only time where there are equal or more females in a main cast in media is if said media is meant for a female audience. Like I can't be the only one who finds that dumb?
This is something I noticed as well so your not alone.
And usually the women are either a love interest to the someone on the team or sexualized or both
Your gonna have to give examples because I don’t think the examples you give are that extreme it like it has to be exactly the same number what wrong with 4 to 3
@@Galvatronover 2003 Teen Titans, 2001 Justice League, Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Legion of Superheroes, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Suicide Squad Isekai even Young Justice in season 1 had 2 females till they added Zatanna and Rocket at the end of season 1.
This is an actual thing. Look up the “Smurfette Principle” trope
You know the situation is cooked when Harley Queen has more media projects than Wonder Woman. They have been doing Cassandra Cain, Barbara Gordon, Helena Bertinelli, Donna Troy, and Dinah Lance for years.
They need to bring the DCAU back just to give WW a great animated series. It would also be cool to have Zatana in the new DCU Justice League. The new DCU should also focus more on female villains. It would be great to see Poison Ivy and Livewire.

I'm so sick of Harley Quinn. Zatanna, wonder woman hell give me Shiva.
