I actually like the idea of her arriving before Superman and becoming a more combative, less humane version of superman, being that she didn't spend her childhood on earth, but instead krypton. She still remembers the destruction of her home and the death of millions, including her parents. It would make sense for her to be angsty and I can see her having different relations with the league. She'd probably still get on with WW and Batman, but probably wouldn't get on well with Flash and his humour.

Hey TMM! I think that writers should further explore the fact that Kara is indeed more powerful than her cousin. It has been hinted at with several continuities but rarely actually displayed when given the opportunity-outside of the CW DCTV depiction and maybe other sources as well.
@@Demetriusbaker1 she WAS more powerful than Clark, but I the current Superman run by Joshua Williamson has given him several power boosts and made him more of a powerhouse. Even Kara’s unique connection to krypton has since been given Clark in the absolute Superman book. Taking Kara to space to have adventures is a great idea, and the current Action Comics run has her doing just that. While her being a red lantern was fun, it’s not a status quo that should be permanent for Kara at all. She’s a hero, not an anti-hero like the rest of the Red Corps. The latest Power girl series has gone out of its way to make her and Kara distinctive different characters. So merging them together wouldn’t work at this point in their history.
Kinda shocked that no mention was made of My Adventures With Superman’s depiction of her. Personally, I believe that version of her is the best or at least has the potential to be the greatest. Really excited to see what they do with her in season 3.
I was also surprised, but I guess he didn't see our comments. Regardless Im excited to see more of her in MAWS Season 3, and it would be interesting to see Kara's struggle with finding her own identity on Earth, much like Clark had to find his identity. Maybe we can see her contemplate whether she needs a secret identity or show how difficult it is for her to become accustomed to Earth's culture and question Clark on his morality as a superhero, especially since Lex will be the main villain of Season 3, maybe we can see Kara and Clark disagree with how to handle someone like Lex who has money, influence and grown so much power to manipulate to city behind the shadows and cause Superman and Supergirl trouble. Clark could be determined to bring him to justice. Still, Kara questions him why not use their power to take down powerful corrupt criminals like Lex quicker and not let him ruin more lives, reflecting Kara's own guilt over how she was brainwashed to believe she was powerless and used as Brainiac's weapon of death of destruction. Thus, Kara could see Lex as just another Brainiac who destroys the lives of others all for himself. This could create a difficult family divide between Clark and Kara's beliefs and values and make them try and find a compromise with how to handle Lex, who's a genius who knows how to manipulate any situation in his favour, making Lex a more intellectual/philosophical overarching villain who's not much of a physical threat, at least not yet. I would also like to see Kara come to terms with all the planets and lives she took under Brainiac's control, and I'd like to see this take on Kara coming face to face with her past without running away from it. Maybe we see aliens come to Earth who want vengeance for all the billions of lives taken away because of Kara and want her dead; this would be an excellent way of bringing in alien Superman villains like Mongul, Lobo (introduce him as a contract bounty hunter for specific alien races), Maxima, Rogal Zaar, or even Darkseid if they want to tackle the New Gods, especially considering it was heavily teased that Darkseid and Apokolips were at war with the Kryptonians.
My bad, I saw a lot of comments about this topic and started to get the idea that there were a lot more people who liked it then otherwise. So I didn't really see it as an unpopular opinion after a while.
Imagine if absolute superman and supergirl met? Speaking of can you make a video on your thoughts on the current going on’s about the absolute universe so far? Loved to hear them.
Can you do Superboy (Connor) next? he and characters like Tim Drake, Impulse, Wonder-Girl (Cassie have been heavily underused and its a shame that he got replaced by John Kent who atleast Imo is not a good character.
Honestly, make her a villain where she thinks that killing people to save planets from their destruction. Let her believe that the destruction of kripton and its people is the way to go. This allows her to be her own character and separates her from Zod where he wants to turn Earth into Kripton, just a take.
Nah Supergirl sometimes really is used as just a Superman with boobs. I mean Arrowverse did basically just that, on the other hand, "My Adventures Supermanerman" did her well.
The "Arrowverse" Supergirl was actually built to be a Superman with boobs in a similar way that the Arrowverse Oliver Queen was built to be a Batman with a bow (and then later Kate was built to be Batman with boobs). They weren't given the go ahead to do a Superman or Batman show and so they piled all sorts of elements that they wanted to use from those characters onto characters that they were allowed to make shows about. In general Supergirl in a lot of media is given a different personality and style from Superman. Several of them have been more impatient (either in the angry way talked about in the video or in the more gungho cheerful way that some of the cartoons have had). She also gets a lot more of the fish out of water treatment than Superman, which - granted - tends to get calmed down as a trait after some time has passed. The MAWS Supergirl feels like they took the personality of the early New 52 Supergirl and crossed her with the New Earth Kara background (swapping Darkseid for Brainiac). Which was cool for me partially because those were the first two versions of Supergirl I really followed.
One of the biggest problems with the CW. Giving key elements from their popular characters to lesser characters while stripping them of their own uniqueness. Couldn't use Batman? Let's make Green Arrow Batman. Can't use Superman? Supergirl is close enough.
Thanks for putting me in your video T.M.M I really appreciate it ❤️❤️❤️ also I always been a Batman fan since I was little plus I never cared about Superman
No problem, thanks for leaving a comment! And ya Superman is a little harder to get into because of how "simple" the character can be. Very often it feels as if people want him treated as a morally black and white character. However the world doesn't work like that nor should it. That's why Batman has more room to explore.
@ ofc & more to come and enjoy 😊❤️ also I do agree I think that one reason why a lot of dc fans and comic book fans love Batman more than Superman btw Black Adam next for unpopular opinion???
my only take on Supergirl is in regards to her supersuit. it should be white instead of blue. 1) it differentiates her look from Superman's a little, 2) isn't there lore about Kryptonian's family crest and their colors? since she's Kara Zor-El i assume there'd be slight differences in their suits (or maybe it's just the family crests)
I think in some cases they try to make it cooler or more fun by saying she’s more powerful or has more potential than Superman, which I think doesn’t sit right with many people including me. I think the way to go about it is actually the opposite you know where she is powerful yeah but because she hasn’t been on it that long, so couldn’t absorb all the sunlight, she is sustainably weaker but on krypton was either being trained like the military Academy or something so it’s like a more skilled practitioner and fighter, putting her closer to a wonder woman ask thing but just with kryptonian powers, and like kryptonian armour and weapons, or perhaps as I think it’s suggested her family was filled with scientists and she comes over with powers like Clarks but a lot weaker though still very strong, but brings over kryptonian science in technology, I think I’d also be interesting when seeing her relations with people like Mr. Terrific, cyborg, the bat family etc. I feel like it gives something else to her, instead of just being a female, weaker, more boring version of Superman, she could either be weaker but a more skilled fighter and miniaturistic with weapons and armour or she can be more science and techie, whilst still having very strong power
I love the CW Dc shows, but not past the first 2 seasons for most of the shows, season 3 for the flash, maybe even 4 The best show from 1st season to the final one was the flash. Supergirl is not supergirl at all. She is just clark with boobs in the cw show. Kara is her own character in the comics and she is not in the cw show.
A lot of these "hot takes" feel like they come from under-informed places. Like.... Supergirl isn't a Teen Titan because she spends her teen time as a Legionaire.
She could spend her days as a life long Justice League member. It wouldn't change the fact that some people want to see her as a Titan. Or at least inquire why she never was a Titan.
@tyrellmultimedia she isn't a big member of the Teen Titans/Titans for the same reason Batgirl isn't: she just didn't join that team as a teen. Supergirl's teen years were spent either with Clark, flying solo or in the future with the Legionaires. You only have SO MANY years of being a teen. And hers were spent in the future. So she never made those same ties of friendship that Dick Grayson did. Also, iirc, when Dick was running the original incarnation of the teen Titans, or right before he became Nightwing, Supergirl was having solo adventures in college that mostly centered around her dating life. And then, from 1986-2006, Supergirl wasn't even Kara Zor-El. It was some other alien using the supergirl name and likeness. After that, she's just spent short times on various teams, but, throught her whole publication history, she's never really seemed the team type. Like, if ever she's on a team, it feels like she's just a guest. Like the team I'd crossing over with her. And soon she will be back on her solo stuff. And that's pretty much how she's been since the beginning.
Here’s my hot take on Supergirl. She’s a great character… she has an interest cast of supporting players. She has stories, that stand out from Superman’s because of its uniqueness. However… she’s a character that gets adapted to the big or small screen quite differently, and her adventures gets barely adapted. A lot of the time, the adaptations just makes her a completely different character. Most adaptations like the LEGO Films, or the original DC Super Hero Girls, tend to make her an upbeat girl who’s a bit quirky. Some adaptations The other DC Super Hero Girls made her a brash character who’s bit of a cool girl. And then there’s stuff like when Supergirl goes brainwashed in MAWS and the Batman & Superman movies. We hardly see a consistent Supergirl, compared to other DC Sidekicks like all the Robins, or even Kid Flash. She’s just inconsistent most of the time, when getting adapted into DC Media. And the weird thing is… we don’t get much adaptations of her adventures. Sure, there was the CW series, but that version of Supergirl’s completely different from her comics counterpart, that she might as well be her own character. And whenever she gets adapted in most media, it’s usually in a Superman story, which isn’t a bad thing, since she IS a sidekick to Superman, just like with every Robin in most Batman adaptations, or Wally West’s Kid Flash in every adaptation he’s in. But at least with the Robins and Wally, they at least showed up in stuff that weren’t associated with their partners, like Young Justice and the JLU series gave us the best versions of Wally West, and Robin’s a prominent character in every Teen Titans story, including the adaptations, that they’re easy to be their own characters even if they’re Batman or Flash characters. But Supergirl’s just associated with Superman in every adaptation, that there’s no way to make a Superman series without including Supergirl. I wish we had more Supergirl adaptations where it showcases her world, her adventures, her life and struggles of being a kryptonian living on Earth, as well as being a teenager going through teenage stuff (Because remember, she’s supposed to be a teenager). Im not really a fan of her growing up on Krypton before she had to move to Earth once Krypton blew up, I prefer her original backstory where she grew up on Argo City (which was one of the remaining cities of Krypton that survived) and was just Superman’s younger cousin (Because she started off as just his younger cousin, Kara being older then Clark but was cryogenically frozen was just a carryover from the Post Crisis Continuity), and I do want to see her storylines get adapted more often, just as Dick Grayson’s Robin and Wally West’s Flash’s stories were adapted. Because she really is a character that can stand out from Superman for being a relatable character to teenage girls, if we showed more solo adaptations of Supergirl than not). Heck, you could adapt the Red Lantern storyline and have it be the DC equipment of Marvel’s Symbiote storyline. I wish her being evil wasn’t adapted often, I really didn’t like that and as much as I like the Adult Swim Supergirl, I didn’t like how the MAWS Kara was a brainwashed servant of Braniac. It makes her relationship with Braniac-5 uncomfortable when he’s a descendent of the enemy who caused trouble in her life.
Something that I've always thought would be a good element to add to Supergirl as a character is her trying to teach Superman (and the Superboys) Kryptonian culture. Hear me out, she sees that he has tried to pick some things up from the archives in the Fortress of Solitude, but he is doing it wrong and she is kind of frustrated. We've seen several iterations of Superman trying to get her to adjust to Earth culture, but she is the "last" person raised in an extinct culture and it would be an interesting throughline to see her trying to keep elements of that culture alive as best as she can. Are there traditions that she can continue? Foods that she can attempt to recreate? Does she correct Superman's Kryptonian(?Kryptonese?) pronunciation? Not only would this make sense for a character that was raised in the culture and was coming across a family member who she knew as a baby. But it is something that would contrast her and her cousin.
Idk if this happened but there should be a team up with supergirl/Powergirl and Fire/ice. I also disagree with the comment about if there were 2 Kryptonians Doomsday is gonna get folded like a pancake, Doomsday should be portrayed as the embodiment of death and destruction where nothing can stand in his way even if a squad were to jump Doomsday he'd reverse jump them like Broly vs the Z fighters. I also agree supergirl needs to grow out of the girl and into a superwoman, same goes for powergirl cause how old are they again?
Kara being with the Legion of Superheroes or in outer space feels more fitting for her. I quite like the idea of her transitioning into Power Girl but that would only work if they didn’t already exist as separate characters and DC isn’t rebooting again so soon.
Kal and now Jon are pretty much the only consistently canon kryptonians that aren’t rage monsters, that fundamental edge in characters like Kon and Kara are often underplayed or ignored and that’s what really has people thinking they’re just carbon copies of Supes, which is annoying that edge is what really differentiates them. The new 52 interpretation of Kara’s arrival and early time on earth is really good in showing just how alien she feels and hurt without her people. Also, as far as the space thing goes that’s such a good idea and honestly I don’t know why DC doesn’t throw more characters they don’t know what to do with into space, they’ll try it and then back track immediately, and I don’t get it, they waste on earth anyway. Red Hood has a minor space arc in his New 52 run and honestly making him a gunslinging galactic bat family member is both interesting and a pretty reasonable step for him, I mean what does he really have in Gotham that he needs to be there? And I loved the rebirth revamp of the outlaws but given that Kara and Jason had some type of relationship already in the new 52 and DC editorial didn’t know what to do with Jason or Kara, pairing them up maybe with Artemis still or Aresenal or a wholly new team would have been a super easy and really good idea. It could take the “dark trinity” idea and just make it the “dark justice league” making Jason and Kara have a whole team, like said in the video. Dc tried something like that with Superboy recently but the story just wasn’t interesting unfortunately.
Honestly when it comes to her Costume, I think they should add her kryptonite aspects to it, she is literally one of the remaining Kryptonian that still remember that world and culture. I want her to carry that with her, and find comfort from it, and with pride in her lost world. Also I hate her converting to a "I'm just trying my best to be a regular human girl, and fit in, but not really." Like she's Krytoion she should act like it, not understanding earth and it's completely different way of things, and taking a while to understand it. I want her to grieve and be allowed to face the world without a fake superhero smile, and let her have a place in The Fortress of Solitude and enemys in the Fantom zone, let her be Kara Zor-el the alien Kryptonian frist, the a Super.
I do agree that the main universe Supergirl should transition to Powergirl or even Powerwoman with that being her version of a Nightwing/Red Hood/Red Robin persona. This is something I’m personally hoping James Gunn’s DCU does, instead of introducing Powergirl as a multiversal counterpart of Supergirl, just having Milly Alcock’s Supergirl transition to the Powergirl mantle. And I do agree that similar to the Spider-Man 2 game making Miles a part of the symbiote saga, a future death of Superman adaptation should have Supergirl be a bigger part. Hell, maybe that’s why she transitions to Powergirl, she blames herself for being unable to save her only family along with now having to live up to that legacy as the heir to the S so she feels unworthy of wearing the S, causing her to at least temporarily abandon it.
Kara HAS the SAME as Clark: -powers: duh.🤷♂ -villains: mostly.🦹 -teams: the league🤷 -symbol: what she stands for🦸♂ -secret identity: pretty much just glasses👓 -origins: this is the only different as she saw what happened to their planet, but it still is the same general background.🤦
With the background they just fail to dig into it properly & over exaggerate the loss Superman has for Krypton. The difference in background could make her completely different from Superman if they cared enough to focus on it. She could be hyper fixated on revenge or be willing to sacrifice herself for other worlds.
It is pronounced smar (like the way smart is) then (gyo). But no problem on mispronouncing it. But I'm glad my take made it up here. I kinda figured along the lines of she remembers Krypton so she would certainly have a greater emotional attachment to it. Kinda led me to a similar take as yours.
Main hero protagonists has to be a human to be a Lantern. Look at Sodam Yat. He has so much potential but DC wasted that potential and make new human lanterns. So much Supergirl staying as Red Lantern would be great, but DC won’t let them stick.
Here's my hot take: Mid 90s to Early 2000s Supergirl deserves way more love than I see get given to her. Yes, Post-Crisis Supergirl is weird, a protoplasmic, shape shifter named Matrix formed by Lex Luthor from a pocket universe becoming Supergirl and later merging with a human girl named Linda Danvers is one of the many weird ways DC tried to get around the whole "only one surviving Kryptonian" rule at the time but she was still great, especially when written by Peter David in his 80 issue run on Supergirl. Linda Danvers proved that she deserved to be Supergirl and the stories told with her are very memorable, especially with how bizarre they can get, and I genuinely think Peter David's run is one of the best Supergirl runs out there.
Unpopular opinion: Supergirl would be interesting as a Anti-hero with a interesting storyline not like red hood but being her own thing probably being the only exception of the Super family but however l think it would work more for an alternate earth than the canon Earth 0. Plus if DC ever allows that to happend l would be more than excited to see it, l really like to see Supergirl with those red eyes being a badass.
I think if they focused on the difference in background more she could be different enough. Basically feeling alienated from Earth or hyper fixated on revenge for Kyrpton.
In his community tab he posts what character or team the next unpopular opinion video will be on and you comment your hot take on that character or team on that community post.
Yes, from the late 80s to early 90s, when kara was killed off after COIE and dc had a "superman is the only living kryptonian rule" she was actually the first supergirl to join an incarnation of the teen titans

@@milkiassamuel780 I would love for all of those to come true in the next season!
My bad, I saw a lot of comments about this topic and started to get the idea that there were a lot more people who liked it then otherwise. So I didn't really see it as an unpopular opinion after a while.
@@tyrellmultimedia oh, no, it’s alright. It’s your videos, we don’t pick which topics make it in. I still liked your video 👍
I love what they did with her and brainiac 5 in Justice league unlimited.
Imagine if absolute superman and supergirl met?
Speaking of can you make a video on your thoughts on the current going on’s about the absolute universe so far? Loved to hear them.
I like supergirl much much more than I like superman
Don't hear that everyday. Any reason in particular?
@tyrellmultimedia I find just her backstory more interesting and her personality just appeal to me more
Can you do Superboy (Connor) next? he and characters like Tim Drake, Impulse, Wonder-Girl (Cassie have been heavily underused and its a shame that he got replaced by John Kent who atleast Imo is not a good character.
I think John was a banger of a character before he got aged up. But honestly, it would have been better if both he and Kon were able to interact.
Thank the New 52 for that.
Thanks for putting me in your video T.M.M I really appreciate it ❤️❤️❤️
also I always been a Batman fan since I was little plus I never cared about Superman
No problem, thanks for leaving a comment! And ya Superman is a little harder to get into because of how "simple" the character can be. Very often it feels as if people want him treated as a morally black and white character. However the world doesn't work like that nor should it. That's why Batman has more room to explore.
@ ofc & more to come and enjoy 😊❤️ also I do agree I think that one reason why a lot of dc fans and comic book fans love Batman more than Superman btw Black Adam next for unpopular opinion???
hey my first vid here and i really enjoyed it man , gonna keep up with youd new vids ❤❤❤
Thank you! Glad to have you here!
my only take on Supergirl is in regards to her supersuit. it should be white instead of blue. 1) it differentiates her look from Superman's a little, 2) isn't there lore about Kryptonian's family crest and their colors? since she's Kara Zor-El i assume there'd be slight differences in their suits (or maybe it's just the family crests)
Ya she could perhaps share more Kryptonian heritage and colours in her costume.
I am also a bigger fan of Power Girl than I should be as a fan of Supergirl much like you are.
Can you do an unpopular opinion on hawkman? Cause for the love of me i cant figure out why they make him such a dick
Honestly not vibing with the leather jacket. Crosses streams with Kon a bit too much.
I love the CW Dc shows, but not past the first 2 seasons for most of the shows, season 3 for the flash, maybe even 4
The best show from 1st season to the final one was the flash.
She was a Teen Titan briefly in the comics along with Miss Martian.
It makes her relationship with Braniac-5 uncomfortable when he’s a descendent of the enemy who caused trouble in her life.
i like both the jakcet and skirt on supergirl
I also agree supergirl needs to grow out of the girl and into a superwoman, same goes for powergirl cause how old are they again?
i agree she needs to be powergir / superwoman eventully
Kara being with the Legion of Superheroes or in outer space feels more fitting for her.
I quite like the idea of her transitioning into Power Girl but that would only work if they didn’t already exist as separate characters and DC isn’t rebooting again so soon.
what made me love superman /supergirl is the maws series
I actually prefer Supergirl over Superman because Kara struggles with adapting to a different culture. This makes her stories more engaging for me.
i agree supergirl needs to be on her own more
Unpopular opinion, I find Supergirl, conceptually as far more interesting than Superman himself.
WOOH I GOT IN ANOTHER ONE BOYS
Kara HAS the SAME as Clark:
-powers: duh.🤷♂
-villains: mostly.🦹
-teams: the league🤷
-symbol: what she stands for🦸♂
-secret identity: pretty much just glasses👓
-origins: this is the only different as she saw what happened to their planet, but it still is the same general background.🤦
Yea its bad when her second persona is more popular and pretty much makes her irrelevant.
Unpopular opinion: Supergirl would be interesting as a Anti-hero with a interesting storyline not like red hood but being her own thing probably being the only exception of the Super family but however l think it would work more for an alternate earth than the canon
Earth 0. Plus if DC ever allows that to happend l would be more than excited to see it, l really like to see Supergirl with those red eyes being a badass.
Yes make her SuperWoman, stop lil broing her
3:22 yes, during the one year later period after infinite crisis
hopefully my hot take made it in here
aww man my hot take didnt make it in again
Kara is an immigrant and Clark is 2nd gen immigrant who grew up on Earth ( that's his home) not Kara's.
How is Clark a 2nd Gen?
I feel like she still does the same as Clrak, even if with her trauma, so I don't like her: TOO similar to him. 😕🤷♂🤷
I think if they focused on the difference in background more she could be different enough. Basically feeling alienated from Earth or hyper fixated on revenge for Kyrpton.
What about jimmy? He the only guy from earth she has a relationship whit. The idea of supergirl and power girl fuse into one character is asinine.
Where fo we recommend Hot Takes?
In his community tab he posts what character or team the next unpopular opinion video will be on and you comment your hot take on that character or team on that community post.
wait she was an alien blob for a time ? that was stupid
Yes, from the late 80s to early 90s, when kara was killed off after COIE and dc had a "superman is the only living kryptonian rule" she was actually the first supergirl to join an incarnation of the teen titans
Maybe, "Supergirl" Kara Zor-El and "Red Hood" Jason Todd should become Lovers, get Married, and form their own Misfits Team permanently.
Why do you think that?
