    Welcome to the world of sweetness and homegrown elegance with these Georgia grown delicious and mouthwatering Plums. It’s that backyard time of the year where ripe plums are everywhere, and Arsie’s Kitchen segment this week is going to serve up a very traditional Plum Sauce Recipe.
    I've always loved plum sauce, but it was always very expensive in the store. And yes, there is always the packets, but not for me anymore because I can now preserve my own homemade plum sauce.
    Today’s recipe is made from three of the many varieties of plums grown in the Southern part of America: Medley Plums, Santa Rosa Plums and Byron Gold Plums also referred to by the locals as Japanese Plums. Having Plums you can taste freshly picked is an awesome experience.
    These juicy plums are harvested in June to early July. The plums are renowned for their sweet, succulent, and slightly tart flavor. The taste is a blend of honey-like sweetness and a subtle tartness making them perfect for fresh snacking, preserves, and desserts.
    This delicious plum sauce is tangy, sweet, and spicy all at once. It is sure to win over the kids and adults and is a great sweet and savory combination.

    Equipment: Medium size Sauce Pan, food blender or processor, Stovetop
    Tips
    Bring to a low simmer and continue to stir every so often to keep from burning the bottom. Continue for 30 minutes or until plums have broken down and sauce begins to thicken.
    Allow sauce to cool and place in your blender or food processor, mix until smooth.
    If using sweetener, add a little at a time and continue blending until you reach desired sweetness.
    Pour into jars and keep in the fridge for up to 6 days, or freezer for future use.
    The Best Plum Sauce Ingredients:
    ✅ 4 pounds red plums
    ✅ 1 pound yellow plums - optional
    (plums added a little more tartness)
    ✅ 1 1/2 tsp salt
    ✅ 1 tsp garlic powder
    ✅ 1 tsp onion powder
    ✅ 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    ✅ 1 tsp mustard powder
    ✅ pinch of nutmeg
    ✅ pinch of all spice
    ✅ 1 tsp ginger (ground or crushed)
    ✅ 3/4 granulated no calorie stevia sugar
    ✅ 1 tbsp honey
    ✅ 1 tbsp vinegar
    ✅ 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
    Prep Time: 30 minutes mins
    Cook Time: 3 hours hrs
    Total Time: 3 hours hrs 30 minutes mins
    Yield: 8 half pints or 10 half pints if optional plums are used
