    Good info on the doors. That's the stuff that makes a review better vs your average one. Kudos.

    the USB port under the armrest IS to TRANSFER songs to the EV NOT charge your phone, its only 500ma, you phone prob needs 1A+ , solution very simple get a 12V car charger from your local dollarmart

      That makes sense, thank you!

    At winter, the range is significantly lower due to the temperatures

    • @zonabros677
      @zonabros677  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true, but it doesn't get cold enough here in Arizona for the range to drop 20 miles.

      @@zonabros677 I guess that’s true. Well hopefully the degredation slows down soon

    I heard people say stay away or get 2017 or newer? I want to get the S model but it’s pricey and rare.. I also heard a 2014 model accelerates faster than the S models?? But had motor mount issues from the acceleration.. any other issues w the 2014 models?? If not and it’s as fast as the S I would get the 2014!

      I don't think the fully electric i3 had any issues even in the early stages. I do know that the early REX i3 had issues with engine mounts and going into limp mode when the REX kicks in.
      I'm at 45k miles now on my i3 and I haven't had any issues other than the sudden loss of range but I don't think this is something you need to worry about as it seems to be a rare issue.
      I can't find the accelaration times but I think the 2014 i3 and the i3s will be very close to eachother. The goal of the i3s was to offset the weight of the new heavier battery.
      If you want the i3 as your main car I'd say look into a 2019 with the 120Ah battery with 160 miles of range. If the i3 is just a commuter then the 2014 would be fine.
      Hope this helps!!!

      @@zonabros677 Nah, dunno where you got you intel from. Get an i3 with a Rex, at least you won't get stranded. Do stay away from 2017 and older i3's as the battery is bad now, 2017 is 90 lots to enjoy and DC Level 3 charging :)

    How does app communicate to the car ?
    Would you recommend one to and older driver , say 80 ?
    thanks for sharing your time !

    • @zonabros677
      @zonabros677  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The app requires a data connection in order to connect to the car. I wouldn't recommend the i3 for an 80 years old driver because they might not adapt to the one pedal driving as quickly as a younger driver might.

      @@zonabros677 Nonsense... it depends on what you’re like learning new skills. You’re never too old. My parents are in their late 70s and they’ve just taken delivery of their second i3 (i3s). They have no trouble with any of it, including the App & one-pedal driving.

      EVERY EV has a SIM inside 3G data speeds (On Teslas it over the air updates) on BMW for traffic , news and GPS (You need to pay) When you want to preheat or precool ot lock the car on your phone it needs data mobile data or at home WIFI, its not really rocket science

    You'd expect HIGH QUALITY in a BMW, yes but not on the i3, the only expensive part is the Carbon Fibre Plastic body. The rest are all recycled plastic, its supposed to be "Green" Not Luxury, Are you really the owner? and the Tire part, skinny tires yes, lasts 2 season supposed to last 4, err its not a regular size tire, pls check

    • @zonabros677
      @zonabros677  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe I said the tires last 20,000 miles which is around 2 years for me.

    NOBODY pulls on the rear door like that, Its not really latched in you say ;) well the latch is at the bottom of thw window, do you see any latches on the B pillar? OMG so funny. 2nd batteries like warm weather, once cold hit you get 50%, same with any other EV, Turn on the heat fans loose another 5%, use butt warmers instead, lemme keep watching your video

    • @zonabros677
      @zonabros677  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that nobody opens the door like that. I was trying to demonstrate that the doors may appear closed but they aren't always fully latched which causes the car to beep and warn that there's a door open while taking turns.
      Batteries do perform better in warmer weather but I live in phoenix and our temperatures are 60F - 70F which is not cold enough to result in a 50% loss of range. I also have no need for the heater at these temperatures.
