Great content!….I just want to add as of 6/30/22 the app now allows you to see where the car is located. Secondly, there is a work around for sending an address to the car. If you enter your destination in the google maps app on your phone, you will be able to see the same destination in your polestar as long as you’re signed into the same going account. Hope this helps new owners!

Cheers! Good to hear they are improving constantly. Can't wait for my own P2 to be delivered in few months.

Room for improvement? The current app is an empty amazon fulfillment center of space for improvement :-)

Great video. I'm getting my 2022 Polestar 2 Plus delivered this Friday, and it's also my first EV ever, so I would really appreciate a tips and tricks video or something like that covering anything you can think of that would not be obvious. Thanks!

Congratulations. I have had EVs for 6 years, but I just got the polestar 2 weeks ago.
The most important thing to know is that unlike an ICE, you don't need to charge it to full (or even anywhere near full). Whatever level you charge to (I charge to 55%) that's how full your car is every morning (unlike an ICE which you fill up and then drain down, a BEV is just always 60% full).
The second thing you need to know is that if you are going on a road trip, then you'll be setting it to a 100% charge for the trip, but once out on the road you're going to want to charge about every 110 miles, and you'll charge whenever it gets down to 10-20% and then you'll charge to 60-70% (this will result in the shortest amount of time charging for the trip).
The last thing is that you don't need to buy an EVSE with the polestar because it comes with a full speed EVSE standard. All you need is a dryer plug in the garage (known as a 14-50).

Congratulations! You’re going to love it. Try to keep your car plugged in and precondition before driving if you live in an extremely cold climate. This will reduce range loss.

@@zonabros677 I do - Northeast US (though we're transitioning out of that time of year now). Do you have any recs for a specific home charger? I have to install it outside (have no garage) so I need one that's highly rated for weather but doesn't brake the bank.
      Thanks!

@@shush2000 just install a weatherproof 14-50 (that is something you need to do anyway) and use the cable that comes with the car (it is rated for 40 amps).

We test drove and ordered a Polestar 2 a few days ago. We mentioned the app to the salesman. He said not to EVER use your phone as the exclusive key, the app is still in Beta. He said he’s had customers who he told NOT to use their phone as key get locked out of their cars. It’s still not dependable. As for Android, their biggest problem is peoples refusal to update their software because it’s so quirky. Wish Polestar 2 ran on IOS but then you’d get Siri and that’s real crap (now that I think of it so was google during test drive). LOL. Thanks for the video!

It’s weird cause I heard the reason why polestar Keys were made ever so cheaply (yeah it’s crappier than 2000 Corolla key) cause they don’t expect owners to actually use one but use their phone instead

I've only had my Polestar 2 since 3/11, but I find that my phone as key doesn't work consistently, sometimes taking a while to connect. My Polestar Specialist also set mine up which made it easier. However, this could also be because my car can't seem to get my WIFI signal from my router, which is just about 14 feet away although inside my home. (It does seem to pick up lots of signals from my neighbors who are further away-very frustrating!) Therefore it's obviously relying on LTE signal all the time at home. I also find that the charging status doesn't always update the charge level, even when reopening the app. Usually the range updates but often the charge level doesn't. That is probably another bug.
Coming from a Subaru Outback XT and the MYSUBARU app, this Polestar app is very lacking. Cannot turn on seat heat or seat ventilation in advance--that's stupid--and I don't understand the concept of "preconditioning" where the temperature cannot be adjusted from the app--the manual just says it sets it at a "comfortable temperature" automatically (based on interior and exterior conditions.) I found my car far warmer than I prefer when I got in this morning (it was 48* F outside.) So "comfortable" for who?? Make it adjustable, please.
As for the frunk opener, I totally agree but unfortunately that will not happen unless or until Polestar sees fit to equip the vehicle with an electronic frunk latch. This uses a conventional cable pull--one of the unfortunate side effects of having a chassis not specifically designed for electric. The new Lucid Air has power opening frunk and trunk features--but costs nearly 3 times as much so I can deal. Besides, the frunk in the Polestar doesn't hold much and I don't see myself using it for anything other than home charger storage when I travel.
All in all, I love the car but the app/phone as key still needs a LOT of work. Get after it, Polestar!

The issues with phone as a key (PAK) seem random. I've had the car for a little over a month now and the only time I used the physical key was when I dropped the car off for tint and PPF. I've even driven to areas with zero cell service on both my phone and car. My dad hasn't had the same luck, his phone only works reliably for a few days before having to reset the digital key.
I agree, they should make the preconditioning temperature adjustable. I think the preconditioning temperature is around 70 degrees.
