Correction: At 0:18, a previous version of the video mistakenly suggested that Turkey-backed forces are fighting ISIS in the west. In fact, the Russia-backed Syrian army and its allies are fighting ISIS in the north and west. The error has been rectified.
We also want to clarify that the color coded lines that appeared in the previous version at 0:18 did not indicate a border or the frontline. The lines were meant to illustrate that ISIS was under attack on all sides. That highlight has now been removed to avoid any confusion.

This is a remarkably unbiased video. Normally your content is particular left leaning (which is fine, PragerU is the same way) but this is a really objective video. Bravo. Way to keep personal feeling and politics out of the issue at hand and focus on that actual question, which is what happens next?

The media destroys an ideology. Very similar to what is happening in the US with the majority of mass media coming from left leaning networks. Terrorism spreads through the use of mass media. If the media would just ignore what terrorists want to spread it will slow down the outreach and spread of terrorism and extremism

I like reading comments as I watch the video and spot the incorrectness of the comments in real time. The US troops might stay or go home. The members of ISIS who survive might have to migrate, which is a problem as they might commit more attacks. ISIS will no longer exist as a place, but as "an idea." This means that the radicalization of ISIS will further online as efforts for territory disappear, so the impact of ISIS will decrease with its defeat but the idea is spreading and will cause attacks internationally, moving from a concentration in the Middle East. Fun times.

Do you want to defeat an idea? Easy, give them a good education system, and a stable prosper society. That is, the west would have to invest not in keeping military, but in rebuilding those areas, and help them establish their own institutions. All based on critical thinking, and not some ideology.
But that last part is difficult, since USA itself is built on ideology. So why would they build a proper education elsewhere, when they don`t do it at home?

@maurcd Here's the problem. Building better infrastructure and promoting education works when the violence isn't a multinational conflict where one side uses guerrilla warfare and particularly destructive methods of combat on top of propaganda and cultural domination. Even after the fight ends, and it's reduced to an idea, how are you going to tell a child his dad is someone who is incorrect in killing when that's all he's learned from his pop?
It's a pretty vicious cycle. I actually want to say that an oppressive dictator is one of the only way to keep this situation in check??? Someone like the Shaw of Iran but less westernized so that he can still connect with the people. Still introduce reform, but in more moderation to avoid the mess that happened when the Khomeinis pushed a conservative revolution.

Russian forces with the help of syrian army and iranian miltias didn't focus their attacks on ISIS, the only major attack against ISIS was in the historic city of Tadmur (palmyria) in syria.
Most of the fighting that the Russians/syrian did were against rebel groups that are supported by turkey/gulf and western countries. some of these rebel groups were affiliated with al-qeada (which is also an enemy of ISIS).
but direct attack against ISIS were usually limited. in syria the groups that fought ISIS the hardest were the kurdish and rebels, because they are competing for the same territories

To defeat the idea there isn't a need to control borders because that's already failed but more education and responsiveness to mainly young people in schools and colleges because they're most easily influenced.

You cant defeat an idea, if you could defeat an idea we wouldnt have any nazis in present day. More education and critical thinking is great but actions taken is what matters, not ideology. An idea without any followers is just a book on the shelf, or a concept. It has no material threat.

    • @SomEbodyisDERP
      @SomEbodyisDERP 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Henbot Yeah but the number of Nazis willing to die for their ideologies is nothing compared to misled and radicalised Muslims willing to die for terrorist groups.

    • @SomEbodyisDERP
      @SomEbodyisDERP 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Henbot I think we need to stop these Shuyookh with extremist ideas and educate the young Muslim children in schools more about Islam. Nowadays it's just sad how some people teach their kids Islam.. "Don't do this or you'll go to Hell" from like the age of 6.

Great video. Informative, quick and clear. The only thing I didn't like was that you showed the faces of the terrorists who carried out the San Bernardino and Orlando attacks. These people aren't just doing those attacks to further the ideals of ISIS, they're trying to get their own five minutes of fame. Showing their faces just shows other potential terrorists that the media is going to focus on them, their face, and what they did. The media should cover the attacks but should focus on the victims and the first responders, not the scum that attacked innocents.

Okay, ignoring all the pro-Russia trolls here (anyone who thinks living under Assad is so wonderful should really spend some quality time in what remains of Homs or Aleppo), I do think the video skipped over what is probably the most important question: what do the remaining combatants do when ISIS falls? They're already fighting each other on the sidelines, and I can't imagine it's going to get any better without an overarching enemy to keep them focused. How they deal with each other after that point will play a pivotal role in determining where the region goes from here.

      She's into superstitions
      Black cats and voodoo dolls
      I feel a premonition
That girl's gonna make me fall
      She's into new sensation
      New kicks in the candlelight
      She's got a new addiction
      For every day and night
      She'll make you take your
Clothes off and go dancing in the rain
She'll make you live her crazy life
But she'll take away your pain
Like a bullet to your brain
      Upside inside out
      She's livin' la vida loca
She'll push and pull you down
      Livin' la vida loca
      Her lips are devil red
And her skin's the color of mocha
      She will wear you out
      Livin' la vida loca
      She's livin la vida loca
Woke up in New York City
      In a funky cheap hotel
      She took my heart
      And she took my money
She must've slipped me a sleepin' pill
      She never drinks the water
      And makes you order
      French champagne…
      LIVIN LA VIDA LOCAAAAAAAA ~~~

If there is no negativeness, there won't be any positiveness.. So stay neutral where the realistic people are at.
