    I believe Maya’s lawyer is doing well. You have to consider the amount of evidence, etc that needs to be introduced. That’s why trial is expected to last 6 weeks

    It always baffles me when the defense brings up whether the person testifying is paid like they don’t pay people themselves. It is not unreasonable for people to be paid for their professional services and missing work/pay by being there. (This is not only this case but all cases)

    I feel for Maya and Kyle and their dad so much. It took 37 years of pain, infections, and someone the most random embarrassing symptoms that got me fired from many jobs, to finally be diagnosed with Relapsing Polychondritis. Autoimmune disease that attacks the cartilage of the body causing inflammation and pain everywhere. One of the worst parts is inflammation and degradation of the trachea, causing voice change and loss of voice, and making it feel like im being suffocated from the inside. After 2 months of low dose chemo pill and now daily prednisone and bunch of other meds snd tons of vitamins, im just starting to be able to function daily without a nap since 2020. I also am diagnosed major depression and anxiety and complex ptsd as well as adhd slow retention. Stress is a major trigger and I avoid going around big crowds and traveling and i have a time limit to my energy. It’s beyond frustrating. Anddd because I LOOK young and cute or whatever, even my family and daughter’s father don’t understand the severity and mortality rate. That’s one of the saddest parts. I have had soooo many horrible experiences with doctors and hospitals. But then again. If i wasn’t constantly told it was all in my head by so many, I probably wouldnt have pushed myself to have had such an amazing professional dance career up until my elbow dislocated doing a skill that it absolutely should not have. Despite constant fevers. Kidney infections, ulcers, asthma attacks that was actually my throat swelling shut, 2 nose surgeries due to random collapse, I got to perform on jimmy kimmel, choreograph and dance in music videos, coach a ufl dance team and much more, I pushed through and it and had no idea i was way stronger than i thought. Now im just pushing myself to be the most active and present mom i can be for my little girl, while taking care of myself so i can guide her for as long as i live. Beata is an absolute real life superhero. And Maya and Kyle are stronger than they know. I wish we could join forces to advocate for patients, along with the superhero their dad, who is a warrior and carrying on Beata’s trailblazing spirit. I pray for their happiness and peace and acceptance that they are superheroes. To hold the chins up and be proud, and to dwell in all the good memories of their time before crps and of Beata. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼⚖️⚖️⚖️

    Maya can trust no one. That is her experience. Those who try to help become pawns in this fight. What is “normal” for a person who has experienced what she has. Adult rules. Society’s rules. Adult protection. Society’s protection. All have backfired for Maya. I hope she has found someone that is not connected w court. It would have to be her secret or they would be subpoenaed. So young to see so much negativity. I hope reports she is bright and resilient are true. She seems so.

    @emiyanswer1608 - The hospital personnel reporting this is not at issue here. What is at issue that the staff allegedly acted outside of the purview of their mandated responsibilities on several occassions. This all is specified in the lawsuit. Also - the authorities - in this case the Department of Children and Families, who oversaw the activities connected to sheltering Maya, are immune from litigation like this exactly because they are the authorities. They are protected from interference from civil liability litigation, which is why the plaintiffs were limited in what they could put in the suit and what can even be discussed during the trial. If they are not careful, they risk a mistrial. This case is very complex for exactly these reasons.

    Personally I don’t think the hospital is responsible they have a mandatory duty of care to report suspicion to the appropriate authorities and it’s up to the authorities and it was court ordered it is a terrible situation for all of maya’s family but why are they not taking the authorities the hospital reported it too to court ? I just don’t think the hospital is responsible you can’t just go to a hospital and demand large quantities of ketamine and other controlled drugs that was only legal in Mexico I know mum was only doing the best she could as we all would for our child but there are other cases in which the hospital was right in reporting and saved a child from abuse

    • @heleennuts1
      @heleennuts1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      They did not request drugs only legal in Mexico. The ketamine coma was the procedure only available in Mexico but not the Ketamine itself. I think it’s easy to think she was acting unreasonably but I’m sure she was just advocating for her daughter by requesting what she knew was the treatment she had been prescribed by medical doctors. I also think what the hospital documented was specifically crafted to support their opinions and decisions. This case is not about reporting the suspicion, that’s been determined to have been done in good faith.

      This is a very complex case and a huge undertaking. I doubt it’s that no one wanted it, but the hospital has unlimited resources to fight this case. Even adding the retired judge from the appellate court in that circuit. There is a lot of legal issues at play, a ton of evidence and multiple claims to prove. I think it’s easy to say they aren’t good, but there is only two of them vs the numerous highly paid defense team.
