Funny coincidence, just a day or two ago I tried, for fun, layering Panouge Absinthe Gaïac and État Libre d'Orange's 500 years (both from small samples). The result? Wow, DARK, "Gothic." Hypnotizing.

Recently picked up Amouroud’s Santal Des Indes for a steal. It has a great absinthe and incense opening and an even better sandalwood curry spice dry down that’s totally different than the opening. I love it too! Again, the price on discounters is absurdly good.
I love Memoir Man! That wormwood! Also a fan of several others from Amouage.
It's a good one. I just wished it was a bit louder.
L'Heure Verte was my first Kilian fragrance because it smelled like insane wealth in a bottle. I feel so powerful and regal wearing it. That absinth and licorice is just incredible playing off the vetiver. A dream!

Great video. Love it when you come with the rare niche frags and give us the breakdown, so many look interesting compared to the other TH-camrs that just run on the big name releases that all smell the same now. My SOTD is Patch, by ånd fragrances, and you can guess what the main note is in it 😊

Eau Noire is probably my favourite, also big fan of Lush Rentless, and Map of the Heart Black or whichever has the licorice note is really nice too. I need to give a lot of these a sniff, most have gone under my radar completely!

Yeah! Great vid. The Nasomatto is the best absynt frag by far! It's really like the real Green Fairy 💚. But another one everyone seems to forget is Dali Homme. The Thierry Wasser masterpiece. And I mean the original one. The wormwood and anise with that green animalic oakmoss dirtyness is beyond belief. 💚
I love fou d'absinth. I feel like lartisen parfumer is such a underrated niche brand
Have you tried Absinthe minded by Anka Kus? Scentwise, it is perfect to me. Has Anise, Absinthe and a bit minty/licorice feel alongside other notes. Performance wise, not it at all. Lasts about 10mins. I just love the scent profile.

What a great video Sebastian, I truly didn't realize how many I own with these notes and really love. I grabbed my Comme De Garsons Black and put it on today, I couldn't decide between it and Royal Tobacco. I think I will get a 30ML of Maison Crevelli Absinth Boreal. Cheers Brutha 😎
I've only tried a very small handful of fragrances where licorice/anise is a main focus, but I have liked the few I have tried. Black Vines from Kerosene was one of them. Sad that it wasn't selling enough and John had to discontinue it. Visionary Eye is great too. I got to try that one in the Scent Club mystery box and it instantly went onto my "must buy" list.
Man Dalia sometimes says EXACTLY what I think on some frags. However; Royal Tobacco? Veggies?

Fennel also has a anise scent to it, so you could have also included fragrances like Chypre Mousse, for example.
Memo’s Tigers Nest is a gnarly wormwood. Surprised it’s not on the list.

From my collection I love Legacy of Petra by Penhaligon's. It's got fennel and liquorice notes. I can't say I pick out any specific notes though.

L'Artisan Parfumeur's Fou D'Absinthe is my favorite.
The only anise forward scent i have is Black Vines from kerosene. I absolutely love it because ive always liked anise. Black jelly beans were my fave as a kid😂 its really strong though
Fennel also smells like anise. My fave licorice frag is méchant loup by l'AP
I am such an Absinthe lover..So much so that I have a green Fairy Tattoo on my chest. Always keep a few bottles in the house.

Chinotto Dark was in my ScentXplore kit and it inspired me to learn about and try Absinthe. I’m drinking a glass while watching this video. Some of these sound really unique…I want to sample so many.
Royal Tobacco was a shock to me…a lot going on there and not what I expected.
Visionary Eye was near the top of the mystery box for me.

Black Vines by Kerosene is the best licorice fragrance out there and they discontinued it. Fools.
To me contessa is very close to Xerjoff Casamorati 1888. They perform a very clear carnation note

A sexy barnyard 🤣 Full of studs? 🐴 Nay. No Opium Pour Homme though? 😭 Kidding. It's more of a dry and sweet cassis to me. Still, easily in my top 3 designer anise-inclusive scents. Can't go wrong with Lempicka either. Au Masculin edpi a traditional Halloween wear.
