I just got back from Paris two days ago. While there, I was told by the Dior sales associates at Le Bon Marché and Galleries Lafayette that they are completely sold out of the Dior Homme parfum. I asked if it was discontinued and they consistently said no but that it may be several months before more stock arrives. At Le Bon Marché, they had a bottle of the parfum, behind the counter, and were happy to generously spray it on my arm to try it out. I asked if they could sell me their tester bottle and they said they were not permitted to. I am going back to Paris at the end of August and I will check again. Cheers.

I recently tried Memo african rose and it’s pretty amazing It has the original African leather but with a great rose note added they really did a great job. Price is an issue at 600 dollars. I’ve been slowly saving for a bottle will definitely be my highest priced gag if I decide to pull the trigger

I have over 120 fragrances. But Creed Aventus still gets me the most compliments. I wore it to a works party in Oslo and got four compliments from female colleagues. It’s still the king for me.
Ganymede always gets positive attn and its more versatile than I thought it would be. Ive worn it all year round and in every type of situation from work to just hanging around and date night. Clean mineralic suede leather. Beautiful scent.
Another great video as always! I live in Houston where it is grossly hot and humid and I wore Dolce Melodia yesterday and it was amazing! Definite compliment getter and niche (not a common scent).

Being asked what you are wearing is not necessarily the same thing as being complimented for smelling very good. Usually, it is but certainly not always. I have asked a lot of people what they are wearing without me finding the fragrance very appealing. I'm just a curious person who is interested in scents. Loud fragrances tend to get you more of those "what are you wearing" type reactions.
See there's beauty in all fragrances. I disagree with spraying a lot of ANOTHER 13, the fragrance is very unique, the beauty in it is you can't smell it on you but others can. The brilliance behind the fragrance is amazing to me.

I've used a few of the fragrances you've mentioned and i've never once gotten a compliment from any of them, except BR540 extrait but i also had Ombre Nomade on that night lol.
When I smelled town and country I connected it with oud for greatness too but it's more versatile and citrusy. I would say it's like a mixture between oud for greatness and pdm perseus

I was given Town & Country samples and I’ve ignored them until now. Is it masculine leaning? I might go and dig out those samples and test them. On the compliment getting head turners, I think it sometimes depends on the culture and environment. Some are more conservative and are not too vocal with compliments (like in the US for example). Some cultures view fragrances as very personal, along the lines of personal information, so you won’t typically go up and ask someone what scent they’re wearing. In my case, I’ve gotten it from those in my close circle of friends or those who are comfortable sharing personal stories and conversations with me like my aesthetician and my team (at work) when they gave me a perfume-themed send-off gift on my last day at work, lol😊.
The best head turner I can recommend is not showering and wearing no deodorant for a few days. I have turned so many heads this way it has outperformed every expensive cologne and perfume I’ve owned.
My secretary almost fell off her chair when my Nilufer from Nilafar du nil hit her! She wanted it so badly for her son-Inlaw’s wedding this summer. I felt so overwhelmed that I got her one!
I once went to work wearing a combination of oud for greatness and ombre nomade. The lady i met at work almost licked me from head to toe. she made me write down the names of the two perfumes and told me she would make sure she buys them for her husband. She said she could smell me as i walked in the door LOOL Once had a guy ask me the perfume i was wearing in the bus and he bought it on the spot (le labo santal 33)
Another 13 by Le Labo is subtle, a bit powdery, cloudy, not refined skin scent. Even if over-sprayed, which will leave skin kind of leathery, the scent doesn’t really have even a trace of trail. Seb is right, it reacts different to different skin types. Get a sample and try it before committing.
Another great video Sebastian. For me its Cedrat Boise, Penhaligon’s Halfeiti, Mancera Instant Crush, Red Tobacco, Bois Imperial, BR540 Extrait. Glad I own a fair bit of the perfumes you’ve listed. I really want to try patchouli magnetik. I tried Hibiscus Mehjad and I’ve been hit by a smell of diesel which i am not able to get over.

The fragrance followed is so damn strong that it followed me for a month! I had sprayed my wrist and it got on my fabric Apple watch band. People asked why it smelled like maple syrup or pancakes at work for a week!
The #1 head turner fragrance that I've worn so far to date that I've gotten the most comliments on is Frederic Malle's Promise. Probably because it is so potent, but everybody always asks me what I'm wearing. It's very intense and may lean a bit feminine for some with the apple and rose, but definitely a beast mode.
I’m a man and I always have other men begging to know what I’m wearing when I wear Promise 😂 Unfortunately, it is so strong so I try to wear it only on special occasions

I have some of these. I particularly like Montale's Intense Cafe. My signature scent is Mitsouko. I have several Le Labo parfums and find all of them need over-spraying to even smell them. I won't likely get more of them given how expensive they are for so little sillage, projection, and longevity. I am intrigued by guiacs and do want to try Hindu Kush as I have not warmed to Baccarat Rouge yet (I am working on it).
This happened to me recently with Blanche Bête (Liquids Imaginaires). I was just going for a walk at night and these people were walking from their car to the apartment; one lady stopped and went "You smell good!" hahaha
I get tons of compliments from simple fragnances ”and things like that” Percival by PDM which is often ignored by frag snobs is a compliment monster and it works all year. 😂😂
I just got a bottle of Dior Homme Parfum at Paris Orly duty free shop believing that it was already discontinued, as I couldn’t find it anywhere in Paris since approximately 2 years. I’ve been told by the salesperson that they still make it, but only in small batches and that they do get them only from time to time. I agree with you : this a very good head turner. I will also say so for Interlude Amouage and Rien Intense Incense by État Libre d’Orange
I’m glad you Touched on spraying your hair and especially when you wear a little product. I cannot agree more. Companies have been making watered down hair fragrance sprays and I laugh. I just do a few sprays of my normal fragrance in my hair and it helps the sillage and lasts. Great tip!
As a female my most asked about fragrance is Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess..so many requests. The other is unfortunately discontinued & I haven't found a dupe that is as strong patchouli but really floral as the Jovan Fresh Patchouli. A very green floral female patchouli.

It was rumoured for many years yes. It was out of stock on their website but just got back in stock last week.

You have to make the most of the perfume and spray a lot. And also depends on the sillage and if the fragrance leaves a trail .
Absolutely agree! Using perfume in my hair gives me the most compliments with the fewest spritzes!

I think it is worth mentioning that the new batches of hacivat is not potent at all and you can hardly smell it after 4-5 hrs!
If you can’t get your mittens on Dior homme, try Homme élégant from Fragonard. Gentler and softer but very close to Dior.
Yes, Torino 21 is definitely a head turner. And so is LV Imagination. I don’t know why but especially females love it on me.

I won't likely get more of them given how expensive they are for so little sillage, projection, and longevity. I am intrigued by guiacs and do want to try Hindu Kush as I have not warmed to Baccarat Rouge yet (I am working on it).

I just got a bottle of Dior Homme Parfum at Paris Orly duty free shop believing that it was already discontinued, as I couldn’t find it anywhere in Paris since approximately 2 years. I’ve been told by the salesperson that they still make it, but only in small batches and that they do get them only from time to time. I agree with you : this a very good head turner.

Touched on spraying your hair and especially when you wear a little product. I cannot agree more. Companies have been making watered down hair fragrance sprays and I laugh. I just do a few sprays of my normal fragrance in my hair and it helps the sillage and lasts. Great tip!
As a female my most asked about fragrance is Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess..so many requests. The other is unfortunately discontinued & I haven't found a dupe that is as strong patchouli but really floral as the Jovan Fresh Patchouli. A very green floral female patchouli.

What is the best way to apply fragrances? Is it best to do an all over spray or just on spots? What gives the best projection?
They say pulse points, back of knees for the ladies. I do wrist, back of handd and neck. I move my hands a lot.
