My mind simply couldn't get into it. But since then, i've playd a few FF games. Even when back and played the OG Final Fantasy VII all the way trough. It was the first one i played back in the day. And i'm expecting to get Crisis Core FFVII Reunion in the mail any day now. And then i'll play trough that. Loved Final Fantasy XV. So i'm really getting into the series now. And i can't wait for FFXVI. It looks stunning. Love the look of the world. Combat looks great. So i'm extremly pumped.
I've been watching a lot of things surrounding FFXVI and between being able to adjust the difficulty, the open world aspect, and some of the Eikon fights I've seen, I'm quite excited. I do think that this will be that great synergy of story telling and full action RPG that we're all looking for. No one does story like Noaki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) as is my experience playing FFXIV so I know he can pull this off.
I feel like the story, music, and visuals will be enough to carry FFXVI for fans who aren't into action. For me the combat looks very fun. Also you said they haven't been marketing it on the narrative. Have you seen all the trailers? They go into the story in almost all of them. They talk about combat too but the majority of trailers and previews are about the narrative
@@raventhorX yeah, cuz a person who works with checking games before the general audience knows less than you fanboys... I get low IQ vibes from the comment section lately.
Yeah, they have talked about the story, world and characters at every turn. Contrary to what they say here, with all that Yoshi P has said, there seems to more importance put on the story. Which is why they don't want to spoil everything about it. They aren't afraid to show the game, and gameplay is the most recognizable aspect they can demonstrate in bits and connect with people.
I definitely have to disagree with the take on FF16. From all the trailers I've seen the narrative seems to be at the forefront and the VA's are killing it so excited for this!
Perhaps Falcon is (understandably) concerned about the possibility of one of his favorite series not living up to the hype anymore. But it definitely looks good!
@moviegametime3891 That's true I can understand that. I had a similar feeling when God of war changed it's whole formula back in 2018. Luckily it turned out to be amazing though
Yeah, the narrative is pretty much the forefront of Final fantasy 16. I already know what happens in the first few hours of the game and it is seems pretty damn good.
Aliens: Dark Descent sounds like they mixed Darkest dungeon with an rts. Been loving DD2 since it came out, the stress management is such a interesting element to add to an rts. I can’t wait for this 🔥
Put some respect on Super Mega Baseball 4. The past 3 entries have been incredible and Metalhead actually listens to feedback and makes changes to add features the players want to see. Great sports game for casual and competitive sports game players

I'm so getting that, the first one is one of my favourite games of all time, the soundtrack just completes it, one of the best video game soundtracks ever made, fond memories oof Damacy Falcon, i just hope the soundtrack is still great in We Love Katamari :)
Funny you should mention the story. Yesterday I heard yoshi p spoke about the main focus for ff16 was story and that's what they've put the most time into. I feel like the marketing has come across a bit generic and or bland because they don't want to release any accidental spoilers. Or maybe they just wanna trick us xD
Yeah, he's still revealed a lot of the story. Particularly the backstory of the world and characters. But he has said he doesn't want to reveal to much, so people can discover it for themselves.
I think I heard that it has 11 hours of cinematics. 11 HOURS!!! No worries for me about if it has plenty of storytelling. The only thing we have to wait to see is if it has great storytelling with compelling lore.
FF XVI is gonna be amazing. Also it doesn't look generic in the slightest. They didn't create all the lore for this game for it to be called generic. Also FF XVI and FF VII Remake trilogy are different teams so of course they aren't exactly the same.
If Diablo 4 doesn't have a no player jump in option (just the people you invite) then I'm in. If I have no choice but some open world can be interrupted by other players at any time model, then it can go f*** itself.

From all of the closed and open beta's I played for Diablo 4, I think this game is going to be great. It really feels like the best bits of D2 with best bits of D3 (inspirationally speaking) and obviously added a load of new stuff. I haven't been as excited for a new game since Halflife 2 was due for a release. Luckily my offspring bought me the game so not only do I get early access, I still haven't broken my "no pre-ordering/first month purchases" streak of well over 10 years long! 😇
@@axnoro Well I have already played some of the game and I definitely wasn't disappointed with it, but even if it turns out to be bad it won't have cost me anything so all is good.
Falcon, If you've played FF14 i will say that they brought Yoshi P in on 16's development and they have given bits and pieces of story hints in the trailers. I'm... kinda glad personally they haven't delved too deep into story beats because they tend to give *too* much lately. I've got a feeling that it'll be good at the minimum, mindnumbingly amazing at the most. hell, if anything I'd actually want you to do the Before you Buy on it since you're a Final Fantasy person. I'd like to hear another fan's thoughts honestly.
No, but between the crystal lines and "I'll fight!" type lines... I don't really understand what is going on (or, more importantly, why I am supposed to care). And you really can't explain a full FF plot in a trailer, either. They are usually insane and go well beyond what they initially seem to be about. This is all I'm hesitant about, and I obviously hope to be hesitant over nothing. FF is one of my all-time favorite series; there is something to love about every mainline game. My standards are very high with it and I feel they haven't really made the marketing that enticing. A game is not its marketing, though!
@@FalconTheHero I've beem keeping tabs on it sonce it was announced... What a year or two ago? I guess given my experience with 14 and Yoshida's treatment of the fan base I'm less hesitant to trust the lack of detail. If i can find the initial trailer I'll post it but the thing ive noticed is, like the ff14 expansion trailers, its shown more than told. The pieces placed out visually but not pointed out bluntly. From what i can gather the beings like ifrit, rahmuh and shiva are actually soldiers likyle the mc being pitted in a war. We don't quite have the why but we do know someone is wanting that power for themselves. And this constant state of war is bringing things to a breaking point. I know its not much but I'm hoping its more than what you've gotten at least otherwise I've been completely unhelpful.
@@FalconTheHero I agree, a game is not its marketing! :) And considering the way FF XIV and all its expansion and patches have been marketed, I can safely say that there is always a lot left in the dark and that will surprise us players. And so, I choose to believe that the same thing is happening with XVI, and that we've ain't seen nothin' yet. ^^
Trepang2 looks great. I remember playing Fear back in middle school in 2008 or something... Still had a lot of fun playing it again a few years ago, the AI was revolutionnary for a 2005 game! Definitely will try Trepang2 to get some bullet time action.
NO JOKE. The demo is absolutely killer. It wasn't a series I felt needed to be "reinvigorated," but the demo makes it so you can't help but walk away feeling like it has.
I think FF16 is gonna be so amazing, remember guys Falcon is a huge pessimist with a lot of games, its not necessarily a bad thing but it can skew opinions.
Not even pessimistic about the game, either. I don't think they'd just plop out a turd in mainline FF. Just hesitant. My standards for FF are very high, tbf higher than a lot of series, and I'm just hoping it hits them.
Kinda have to agree with Falcon's uncertainty on this one. The gameplay and music looks astounding and that's great, however it feels like the characters and story have a bit of a "generic jrpg fantasy" style to them so I hope I just got the wrong impression and that the game won't suffer from wonderful mechanics at the cost of a blunt narrative.
@@jeandaniel44 Same. I feel like Final Fantasy games in recent years have started to look more and more like popcorn flicks: flashy, bombastic, big budget but not as much substance as some of the older games. FF7 Remake is a perfect example of that. Game looks great but it feels like they might be losing some of the soul of the old Final Fantasy games in an attempt to appeal to a broader audience.
Falcon, I would like to let you know that what marketing you've been seeing isn't giving the story much credit, but Yoshi P has constantly pushing out that they've been working super hard on narrative and making it a good story. From everything I've seen, it's been the great action combat of FF15 and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. But where those games had very little focus on story in the former and very meme-worthy story in the latter, they've wanted to correct that for this game and it's been basically top priority for them. Yoshi P even came out in an interview recently to say that he wants to know what people's reaction to the story will be, even more wondering how well it will sell. So I think we're in good hands for this one and everyone who has had a chance to play an early demo has been blown away by the story as much as the combat and gameplay.
I expect some well written characters then. It does look generic as hell but I hope the story and characters are very strong, hope it's not a ff12 situation. (Fun combat, gambit system, but shit story and characters)
The game I’m looking forward to the most in June is Story of Seasons (Formally known under Harvest Moon.) It’s a Wonderful life remake. The original was got me into farming games. Such a great classic from my childhood.
I'm stoked for D4, I already pre-ordered back in January. To me, D4 feels like D3 met a little bit of Destiny. Open World, Mounts for all, rotating public events that people with drop in and out of. I liked Destiny, im a huge Diablo fan, D4 is going to be so much fun IMO.
@Bran Man24 If it's overworld stuff, you will see other players, but if you go into dungeons, only players in your party will follow. You'll be able to play the story by yourself but not offline.
@@Bran.man24 You do have to be online to play, but you don't have to group with other players. Just know that there are public events and things where other players can also participate. To have a purely "solo" experience, stay away from those. But for me I think it's cool to have more difficult timed events that might require more people. To each his own, it can be done completely solo. You will just see other people occasionally in the world and in hub towns.
All I hope for FFXVI is not to have many cut contents in it like XV. I'm still sad they had to cut many things from the of FFXV that could have made it so much better.

SE has been trying to transition final fantasy from turn based to an action rpg for 14 years now and have yet to succeed. Every single iteration of final fantasy starting with ff13 has had at least partly clunky mechanics (excepting ff14 ofc). Let's hope they nailed it down this time, and it's not some weird mesh between turn based and hack n slash combat. Even with ff7 remake, the fighting was a bit weird. Either make it turn based or make it dynamic.
Devil May Cry with an *Epic Story?!?!* Dude... I'm there. I describe myself as a "Story-driven Gamer." So *all* of my games have a story to them. Typically speaking, the better/higher quality the story, the more I enjoy the game. (So games with "epic stories" tend to rank the highest/make my favorites list.) Then there's the combat!! DMC/Bayonetta style combat is my favorite style of combat as far as sheer fun factor is concerned. I never get tired of it. These two things *combined, though?!* Into a single game?!?! Yeah. I am so down for playing this game.
And if it sticks the landing, it's probably going to be among the best in terms of FF. One might be able to understand why I am on the side of "oh I hope this works" given how much I love FF (and DMC and Bayonetta, I've said many, many times to you guys how big those franchises are to me).
@Falcon The Hero Oh, I definitely understand. My fingers are crossed for this as well. Because I think that the potential is huge. And if they stick this landing, it could *possibly* make for game developers who err on the side of fun gameplay (Bayonetta/DMC) to start telling more grander tales without taking away from future combat quality.
In the hand of Yoshi P, i was hoping he would innovate the turn based system, maybe made it semi action like how we played FFXIV. Many people love it because the turn base and the action blend really well. Turn out he played safe by making it like DMC. A lil bit dissapoint but i still gonna play it because the narrative looks interesting. Sry for my bad engrish.

it's spot on, typical "demons and flames" style seen in many other games, that's generic
Ever since playing through DMC5 I’ve craved that combat but in a full blown JRPG length game. And FFXVI seems to be exactly that, my hype is unbelievable.
You will be really disappointed if you expect FFXVI to compete with DMC's combat.

I'm super pumped about Final Fantasy XVI. I've always loved what the worlds, themes and characters of Final Fantasy. But back in the day turn based combat never worked for me.
Make sure you play FF7 Remake
I've been watching a lot of things surrounding FFXVI and between being able to adjust the difficulty, the open world aspect, and some of the Eikon fights I've seen, I'm quite excited. I do think that this will be that great synergy of story telling and full action RPG that we're all looking for. No one does story like Noaki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) as is my experience playing FFXIV so I know he can pull this off.
Final Fantasy 16 is the only game that can challenge Tears of the Kingdom for GOTY, realistically.
Tears of the kingdom feels to much like genshin impact to me 😂

Very interested in Trepang2, and actually surprised you guys mentioned it.
I kinda am getting boomer vibes from the host of this video these days lol.
Yeah they have actually given some backstory on the protagonist already so weird take.
This.
Alien Dark Descent looks good 👍
I definitely have to disagree with the take on FF16.
I can’t wait for this 🔥
I had the same thought when watching. Hope it does carry some similarities to darkest dungeon.

I hope it plays similar or close to “Aliens vs Predator Extinction”
Put some respect on Super Mega Baseball 4. The past 3 entries have been incredible and Metalhead actually listens to feedback and makes changes to add features the players want to see. Great sports game for casual and competitive sports game players
ah man trepang2 is right down my alley
I'm hyped for Street Fighter 6
We Love Katamari is getting a rerelease?! Best news for this month for gaming as far as I am concerned
7:56 “more smoother”
I love this more smartier version of Falcon.
Nobody gonna talk about how street fighter took the sleeping dogs logo....
Crash Team Rumble gives me some Power Stone vibes. The world needs a new Power Stone alike game.
Remake Powerstone!
The world needs a full Power Stone revamp!
FF XVI is gonna be amazing. Also it doesn't look generic in the slightest. They didn't create all the lore for this game for it to be called generic. Also FF XVI and FF VII Remake trilogy are different teams so of course they aren't exactly the same.
Kind of agree with Falcon on FF16....
If Diablo 4 doesn't have a no player jump in option (just the people you invite) then I'm in. If I have no choice but some open world can be interrupted by other players at any time model, then it can go f*** itself.
Suprising that there was no mention of Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom. A return to the Telvani Peninsula, Apocrypha, and a new class. Figured it'd at least be mentioned
It's an MMO, as much as I love elder scrolls ESO will never not feel like an MMO.
Nope
I’m really shocked to hear your opinion on ff16, it doesn’t look generic at all. Looks amazing. GOTY contender i think
Here's a guy with a cape and a big sword dash swinging in a brown, rocky field. Oh, here are particle effects.

You will be disappointed, Blizzard can't make good games anymore.
@@axnoro Well I have already played some of the game and I definitely wasn't disappointed with it, but even if it turns out to be bad it won't have cost me anything so all is good.
@@axnoro the beta was fun asf tho
Diablo 4 will probably be around in 10 years. FF will have a good month of sales.
All you need to know about the narrative is that Naoki Yoshida directed the game. The man who turned around FF14.
Did he launch the og 14?
the world is always much better off when there is more Juri Han
Falcon, If you've played FF14 i will say that they brought Yoshi P in on 16's development and they have given bits and pieces of story hints in the trailers. I'm... kinda glad personally they haven't delved too deep into story beats because they tend to give *too* much lately.
I've got a feeling that it'll be good at the minimum, mindnumbingly amazing at the most. hell, if anything I'd actually want you to do the Before you Buy on it since you're a Final Fantasy person. I'd like to hear another fan's thoughts honestly.
Seriously. Does he want the entire story be revealed in the trailers?
@@jackbordar2727the devs already commented about that, even the voice actor of Clive said they didn't show a lot about the game in most trailer
Im definitely looking forward to the release of "Crash Team Rumble" and "Trepang2."
With the pedigree of Yoshi P and his team, FFXVI is going to be one of the goty.
Anything crash related just gives me so much nostalgia, especially the wumpa fruits!

The Amnesia: Bunker demo is awesome. I am really looking forward to the game!

@@jeandaniel44I Rahter have a safe story than a risky story that ruins it

@@jeandaniel44 yeah, I'm not sold. I definitely see the production value but I'm not seeing a very unique game. I hope I'm wrong though
Wtf are you talking about dude? FF 16 does not look generic at all and the narrative seems great. Not sure what you're smoking!
the new amnesia on an OLED display is going to be amazing
Ah final fantasy 16 can’t wait. I always wanted a DMC/FF Action RPG like game. Gameplay looks fucking awesome 👏

So is D4 gonna be a single player game as well? I mainly wanna play just for the story and maybe some online here and there.
It totally looks like. New gen fear. That’s pretty cool
Devil May Cry with an *Epic Story?!?!*
Dude... I'm there.
I describe myself as a "Story-driven Gamer." So *all* of my games have a story to them. Typically speaking, the better/higher quality the story, the more I enjoy the game. (So games with "epic stories" tend to rank the highest/make my favorites list.)
Then there's the combat!!
@Falcon The Hero
Oh, I definitely understand.

Street Fighter 6 is one of my MOST anticipated titles of 2023 i'm so looking forward to it especially after SF5 was Exclusive and the series is back to being Multiplatform. FFXVI looks incredible graphically and the combat system looking similar to DMC5 is great and OMG those Eikon battles look INSANE, i need to get a PS5 alongside my Series S. Trepang 2 looks good but since its on PC i'll wait till it becomes multiplat.
