I ain't gonna lie to y'all when they showed Dragon's Dogma 2 I straight up teared up, I'm such a big fan of the original and finally getting a sequel after so long felt soooooo good, super stoked for that one
I never played the original but I always wanted to I hope is as challenging if not more challenging because that’s the type of games I like and for what I heard the first game was pretty challenging.
My favourite aspect of the original Helldivers was that, overall, you were trying to avoid combat (unless there was a combat specific objective). You just dived in, got the jobs done, then got the hell out. I really hope Helldivers II leans in to that.
I feel like the much more dynamic terrain with the rolling hills and valleys we see will make stealth even more viable since you can stay out of line of sight.
Spiderman 2 way of fighting reminds me of prototype, nice to see that honestly. Also Phantom Blade 0 looks amazing really looking forward to that game. Dragons dogma 2 and a remake of MGS What a treat

As a long life fan of the series. I am still skeptical. I am a Hideo Kijima fan not a konami fan. I think MG has been one of the few franchises I loved amongst the komani products and I still consider it my favorite game. I am also not a fan that konami ditch the industry for the casino industry for a very long time, people forget that. We also have to remember that Metal Gear Survive was the worse game ever in the franchise. And that game was created after Hideo Kojima left. I am not doubting them but they left the gaming industry on a very bad note.
@@anthonygordon9483 While I 100% agree with you, I will say that the fact that this game is being built around the ideas of a fantastic game should bring its potential quite bit higher. Unless the gameplay is broken or they completely change elements of the game or story (which I don't expect), than it can be a good game. All they have to do is follow the blueprint of MGS 3

Honestly the only thing I need from dragons dogma 2 is co-op hopefully couch co-op if not I'm fine with online and for AI not to be goddamn garbage. Those were literally the only two things I need for this game to be hell they could just announce it as a remaster and if they had co-op and good AI I would spend 70 for that bitch vomit inducing dialogue and all.
The biggest surprise for me is how surprisingly disappointed people are about the showcase. There's more than 5 games that I really exited to play and for me, that's a lot.

The only thing that what I expected from Playstation studios is just Spiderman 2 as it's highly likely others still not ready as they already released Horizon 2 and God of War R. What are they expecting? They'll not show any about Wolverine until Spiderman 2 is released or Bloodborne R? That's just full rumors/lies with 0 evidence 100% speculation. People just want to expect to be disappointed.
For some reason people expect every single studio to announce something brand new coming tomorrow every day. Xbox hasn't made a good game in almost a generation, maybe longer? GOW (both of them), Tsushima, Bloodborne, Uncharted, TLOU, Horizon (both of them), Ratchet and Spider-Man (both of them) were EACH better than anything Xbox has put out since before any of those games came out. So with all that said I for one don't need to see Tsushima, TLOU, Uncharted, the new Santa Monica game, or whatever else Insomniac or Guerilla are doing to be excited. Regardless of if we see them we already know they exist and are coming from studios with stellar records whereas Xbox has such an awful track record that everything announced is shady at best and we can't even guess that things which aren't announced exist because it's so sporadic and unstable. When Playstation doesn't show games, it's because they aren't ready and there's no reason to question that they don't exist or that anything is wrong with them, they clearly exist and are going to be great because they ALWAYS are. When Xbox doesn't show games... ever... literally EVER except for the ones from studios they buy with their giant Microsoft fortune and then slap their name on (which always tank) they come out and tell us that games don't matter. This is why it's important to create your OWN studios or establish decades long intimate tech sharing and supportive partnerships with studios before you buy them, when you simply make a desperate bid to buy all the big third party studios you're just going to end up with crap from third parties desperate enough to be bought by the losing side.
People are hyped for Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater then complain about companies remaking games. I like remakes from time to time. People just want to see sequels not new games in showcases. I wish they had shown one open world type game for VR though.
Growing up on the OG Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Genesis, I'm genuinely surprised to see the industry (and this generation) graviating back to side scrollers as much as they are. It's not a bad thing, just surprising to me since I went most of my childhood wishing and wanting to know what these experiences would feel like had they been 3D and immersive worlds. Also, I think a lot of these games will finally test (and prove) whether or not they can develop (and Day 1 release) top tier gaming content running 1080p, 1440p and 4K at 60FPS. A lot of the games thus far eventually get there... but a lot of these games seem to really rely on those extra frames as a core part of the experience. It will be interesting to watch, play and observe how good (or bad) these developers do in the next few years.
I loved almost every single game they showed, was expecting more PlayStation Studios games but was pretty satisfied with this showcase! The Indies knocked it out of the park!

2023 is going to be one of my favorite game years ever. We're getting new games for nearly all of my favorite franchises: Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Zelda, Diablo, Final Fantasy, Mortal Kombat and now Meta Gear. What a year!

Love these videos presented by none other than the one and only Mr Frank Falcon. But there's a lot to be hyped for this time around! Although I was really hoping on some news on TLOU MP
Towers of Aghasba was definitely the most interesting title for me, followed by Ultros and Sword of the Sea. Phantom Blade looked kind of interesting but I'm also concerned about it being heavily scripted or the combat being very "automatic".
I don't know why that would be a worry, there's no way in hell they would make combat like that because nobody would play it or want it. Which is why nobody HAS done that, there are no examples, and it's a souls-like, so that would be anti-thetical.
Nah. Things like, story or gameplay quality, how well it's known, etc matter too. Not to mention there's a lot of 'incomplete, unstable, some technical problems' games that do fantastic compared to a well made but boring indie game. Unless You mean this in a more, a wide variety of games can be enjoyed that you wouldn't usually assume would do well, like journey LITERALLY being a walking sim but popular.
There is no such thing as no technical problems, patches are a fact of life, anyone with a single clue about the limitations of playtesting and the complexity of development knows that. Also I have, in my time having played over 600 games, NEVER played a game which did not ship complete. Except Dead Space 3 because the actual ending was in the DLC...

@@cenciende9401 did... Did you not play console games before the ps3 era? Patches were in fact NOT a fact of life in xenogears or ffx. And some people count dlc as 'part of the game withheld for money' instead of additional content added later as an expansion pack. Most isn't. Day 1 dlc definitely feels like cut content they're trying to make you pay for, but whatevs. Asura's wrath, too. That game was more cinematic than a game anyway, and the ending was a dlc.
@@cenciende9401 also, in all fairness, he said 'little to know technical problems'. First off- that's a generalization. Of course no game is utterly perfect. And secondly, theres a big difference between past games waiting till bugs are mostly squashed before releasing as there's no patches atm, and today's 'fuck it we'll fix it later' era of most games having day one patches and needing to plug a dozen leaks in the first few weeks. Big difference. Huge.

Ya there wasn't too much there. Its what I expected though. Spiderman 2 looks great, but that's really the only game I want there. Good thing we also have the new Zelda to play and Starfeild coming soon as well. Much less of a game drought if you have multiple brands. There's always something good around the corner. The one thing that did surprise and delight me was Beat Saber. I've been waiting for that on PSVR2 and it's finally here.
Phantom blade looks amazing. What's that doing so low in the list. Definitely getting that. Assassins Creed I'll get as long as it's not some gigantic open world nonsense. I know they said its smaller but smaller compared to what? A smaller Valhalla for example is still potentially huge Spiderman and metal gear are also must haves for me

The only thing I want to be included with Dragon's Dogma 2, is co-op. The pawns can still be there but you can always have drop in/drop out co-op.

2023 is going to be one of my favorite game years ever. We're getting new games for nearly all of my favorite franchises:
Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Zelda, Diablo, Final Fantasy, Mortal Kombat and now Meta Gear. What a year!
This just makes me sad for people that never got to game in the 80s and 90s. This is objectively the worst period in gaming since it became popular.

Towers of Aghasba was definitely the most interesting title for me, followed by Ultros and Sword of the Sea. Phantom Blade looked kind of interesting but I'm also concerned about it being heavily scripted or the combat being very "automatic".
I don't know why that would be a worry, there's no way in hell they would make combat like that because nobody would play it or want it. Which is why nobody HAS done that, there are no examples, and it's a souls-like, so that would be anti-thetical.
To be frank, that looks fantastic.
I feel like almost any game would sell well if it shipped complete, stable, little to no technical problems, and on time.
Nah. Things like, story or gameplay quality, how well it's known, etc matter too.
Not to mention there's a lot of 'incomplete, unstable, some technical problems' games that do fantastic compared to a well made but boring indie game.
Unless You mean this in a more, a wide variety of games can be enjoyed that you wouldn't usually assume would do well, like journey LITERALLY being a walking sim but popular.
There is no such thing as no technical problems, patches are a fact of life, anyone with a single clue about the limitations of playtesting and the complexity of development knows that. Also I have, in my time having played over 600 games, NEVER played a game which did not ship complete. Except Dead Space 3 because the actual ending was in the DLC...

@@cenciende9401 did... Did you not play console games before the ps3 era? Patches were in fact NOT a fact of life in xenogears or ffx.
And some people count dlc as 'part of the game withheld for money' instead of additional content added later as an expansion pack.
Most isn't. Day 1 dlc definitely feels like cut content they're trying to make you pay for, but whatevs.
Asura's wrath, too. That game was more cinematic than a game anyway, and the ending was a dlc.

First off- that's a generalization. Of course no game is utterly perfect.
And secondly, theres a big difference between past games waiting till bugs are mostly squashed before releasing as there's no patches atm, and today's 'fuck it we'll fix it later' era of most games having day one patches and needing to plug a dozen leaks in the first few weeks.

Much less of a game drought if you have multiple brands. There's always something good around the corner.
The one thing that did surprise and delight me was Beat Saber. I've been waiting for that on PSVR2 and it's finally here.

Assassins Creed I'll get as long as it's not some gigantic open world nonsense. I know they said its smaller but smaller compared to what? A smaller Valhalla for example is still potentially huge

Doesn’t seem like bluepoint is involved unfortunately. It’s being developed internally by Konami. I want it to be good, but I have kind of a bad feeling about it.
