Coming next year, the low-end variant iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature the Dynamic Island but lacks the Always-On Display.
Impressive that Apple managed to market a hole punch as something different and new. It's too bad that they removed the sim tray though.
I like that the sim tray is gone, it’s safer with the esim.

I totally agree. I love the addition of the dynamic island. The functions and animations it has are useful and fun. I miss the sim tray. It was such a problem to go from sim to esim with my carrier.

Here is the genius of “Dynamic Island”… it makes you forget that pill is a camera cut out. It doesn’t even occur to you because you get use to it as a “software feature”. Just crazy smart by Apple.
It think they did the tap vs press & hold correctly… it works like an app icon. If you press & hold on an app you get the “contextual menu” and if you just tap it, it opens the app. Makes sense.
Honestly I really like the Dynamic Island. It’s maybe not super useful but they put a ton of time into animating everything clearly and integrated some neat little tricks

So basically a permanent notification box hiding the camera they didn't know how to hide. Great.
You're like the 3rd TH-camr I've heard say that tap should bring the island shorcut up but that doesn't make sense, tap and hold which replaced 3D Touch was always about shortcuts, and when you tap anything it usually just means open, so I don't see where the other way makes sense.
Only apple sells what the competitors did 5 years ago as something new and original
This is a great look at some of the good, bad, and indifferent features of the dynamic island. Apple is slowly gaining more features that have kept me an Android user for so many years. It's a cool phone, but not enough to sway me yet.
I am curious though, what phone do you use as your daily phone? I imagine you have so many to pick from and your favorite features of each.
Because of Tim, because of this channel, I use a Galaxy Note Edge from 2015. Still the most innovative Note phone ever created and the swiss army knife of Samsung phones. Swap the battery in and out, sim card, sd card.
maybe next year iphone 15 base model will have this dynamic island feature
What if you want to hang up the phonecall. Uou have to open the app or wodget first and then hang up? Man sometimes i wanna instantly throw down the horn if you know what i mean
I actually like this smartphone. But the Samsung Foldables just make me think if Foldable is more interesting

Hey do battery test between the 14rpo vs 13pro lot of people sayin that it has worse battery than 13pro desipte having 105mah extra.

The Dynamic Island is nothing more than eye candy. It doesn't really do anything that can't already be done and what happens when you change the orientation? Is your view hindered when watching videos? What about gaming? Do you need to actually be in portrait mode to actually be able to read the messages on the Dynamic Island? What about the eSim and no actual sim card in the US? This can end up limiting our choices to eSim only phones if the networks end up moving away from sim cards.

@@azalexia That's because of multiple countries and traveling between them is quite common. This requires being able to get sims to gain access local networks unless you like roaming charges.

I don't know. It seems to be completely useless and ugly. We got it that it"s possible to get the timer in the "Dynamic island" (the timer is used on a daily basis maybe by 10% of users). But why didn't you try to watch a TH-cam video in the portrait mode? Or play a popular game like Brawl Stars? How does that look in these situations rather than with the activated Timer?

I don't necessarily use an iPhone for its innovation. I use them for 1. I get superb battery life. 2. I get smooth efficient operation that just works. I do enjoy Android and there are some great ones out around. But I know I'll always get longer support on an iPhone.

I’m switched back to iPhone after using android for a little while and I bought an iPhone 14 pro max and probably would have been just as happy with the 13 pro max.

It's hilarious that the Apple marketing machine just gives that OBNOXIOUS landing strip a fancy name (dynamic island) and Apple fans get an orgasm b/c they can now say to their friends 'my iphone has a DYNAMIC ISLAND'. It's pathetic being proud with such a hidious chunk out of your screen.

I would have preferred time and money going into under screen face id. The island brings nothing but inconvenience and you were clearly struggling to differentiate between the apps that were active, finger tapping multiple times on the timer as well as the disappearing call controls during a call. It’s a piss poor showing from Apple, very disappointing. I have tried it out myself in the Apple Store and will be using older models until they get their act together. It might be time for Cook to take leave of his position, it really is that bad.

apple is a great company, but the community force em to be gimicky, haha, dynamic island is just a gimic n replacement for the notch bcz these community force apple to do so bcz they re bored seeing the notch, apple used to be a minimalist company, but nowadays they re no more, still they re doing a great job with the devices, performance absolute(buggy can be fixed so dont worry), i like it this way, it s creative, ugly but cool 😂😂
