Can relate to this so much. In my love life, I feel I have mostly been the chaser, a lot of guys thought I am cool when I was unguarded but my openness was always organic and I could never understand why things would never progress from a hook up to them liking me the same way I liked them. It took me a LOT of time to objectively look at the situation and not hate myself for being vulnerable. Lot's of deep work and self-awareness was needed for me to understand that people have a different pace of self-growth, different priorities and my obsession with love and wanting a lover was a projection of something else I needed to work on. I believe love is fluid and comes in different forms, over the years in my self-growth journey I have gotten really close to my parents and have really amazing female friends with whom I can share things, none of which I had earlier. So all this has helped me to really move on and not take rejections to heart. :)

I don’t know man, I appreciate the message and it’s certainly one that we always hear. But the way I see it most of my friends who are in relationships and married, put work into chasing their girl. Maybe in the early stages of life you shouldn’t care about girls and focus on improving yourself. But at one point, you have to put the effort in and most girls choose the guy who puts real effort for her and thats how she filters out the serious ones. In my experience trying to understand women, I've read a book called, _Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus_ . In my early 20s I would focus my energy on hooking up with older women because it is easier, they have lower sexual market place value so they love getting attention from younger men, and they tend to be straight to the point. On the other hand girls my age, the hot ones, in my early 20s were spending their time dating older guys due to them having more resources and wanted nothing to do with me. Trust me, use your 20's to find out what you want to do for a career and reap the benefits of that self development in your 30's. Avoid long term relationships in your 20's so if you do want to have kids you can pick from a better crop of younger women in your 30s. I'll be 30 soon making 6 figures, and from what my friends in their 30s say they are having the time of their lives getting with younger women who wouldn't have even batted an eye at them when they were in their early 20s. Also make sure you work out and take care of yourself, it takes 2-3 years to build a solid body with consistent training and nutrition so get to work.

I don’t know man, I appreciate the message and it’s certainly one that we always hear. But the way I see it most of my friends who are in relationships and married, put work into chasing their girl. Maybe in the early stages of life you shouldn’t care about girls and focus on improving yourself. But at one point, you have to put the effort in and most girls choose the guy who puts real effort for her and thats how she filters out the serious ones. Be attractive to a few girls but you need to do some chasing. If you’re just on your own and just minding your own business you’ll never get a girl. I have many friends, not just a few, who have normal incomes, normal looks, but have some really attractive girlfriends and wives. That is honestly my life experience so far.
The thing is most girls are gonna run from love because of maybe previous experiences or what they've seen from their friends and family. If you chase and she still running then stop. In my experience trying to understand women, I've read a book called, _Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus_ . I learned a lot from it and it's mostly acknowledging the fact that men and women are different from each other, thus having different needs and ways on how to provide for those needs and how to understand each other more.
My ex told me that she was offended when I told her to read that, but my intention was so we could understand each other more.
I find that some of today's women wouldn't even acknowledge this fact, and will be needlessly offended, immediately, for examples like the one you said about women latching.
