Sorry for your loss. I am glad the video was able to give you some inspiration and to hopefully help you honor the memory of your father! Welcome to the Xterra family! 🤙🏽
Great video man and I have a question. Titan swap doesn't necessarily mean vk56 swap. How does the stock vq40 engine deal with the added weight / wider track /bigger tires. Is it a lot more sluggish?
Correct. Titan swap usually refers to the suspension and front differential. The engine handles fine. I ran stock gears for over a year before regearing to 4.10s. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a race car, but I can cruise at 80 mph no problem
Nice build, my man. Side note: Were you able to sell off some of your previous upgrades to alleviate the costs of the the swap? My X has the Radflo 2.0 up front and Alcans in the back with Bilsteins. A Titan Swap requires so much replacement of good parts and I hate spending money twice.
Just curious - why did you switch from Expedition One to the Uptop Bravo? Last I saw they still have the flawed design on the front feet (90° angle and only a single bolt) and it will damage your roof eventually. The last guy I helped install one on has a permanent buckle after less than a year.
It has more ability to add accessories and has a bigger platform than the expedition one rack. I have also modified the front mounting brackets to avoid that from happening. I started having issues and reused my expedition one brackets to solve that issue
@@conheck_offroad Good call on modifying it. I do like the footprint of it - I actually wanted the 180 version of the same awning as you but my Gobi rack narrows towards the front and dips down to follow the roof line. Also I don’t think you’re on the east coast anymore but a buddy of mine wants the ExpOne rack and would probably buy yours if you still have it. Would just have to source front supports.
I love the awning. If you can figure out a way to mount it, it’s totally worth it. I still have the rack and also have the HD load bars for mounting a RTT. Have him hit me up on instagram @conheck_offroad
Do your cv axles ever rub the bottom of your shocks? I've got an almost identical setup on my Xterra and have observed that issue a couple of times. I'm assuming a good alignment will help but that was hard enough to get in the first place even with the BRUTAL method.
Mine just barely touch. I have “witness” marks on the CVs. I was thinking of grinding the coil perch down a little. Alternatively, Greg at PRG showed me how to replace the lower on the coil over to make more room.
@@JustinCaseWages interesting... "Witness" marks is a good way to describe it. I'll probably go the grinder route if a better alignment doesn't help. Replacing the lower sounds like I would need a spring compressor unless I'm mistaken.
@@Whatever838494 Correct. You would need a spring compressor. An alignment might fix it or make it worse depending on which way they shift things around. I sure hope it works. I need mine aligned anyway. Otherwise a grinder or even a file might be enough to clear.
@CONHECK21 what makes the xterra so good. Here in the past week doing alot of youtube videos. It has caught my attention to get one. How many miles is to many. And what's a good price. 2010-2012
My father died 6 months ago and you have inspired me to trick his Xterra on his memory. Thanks for this video.

Im sorry for you loss
@@chatnavz thank you too.
As a fellow Nissan guy I’m a big fan of the channel!
This is amazing. Of all the titan swaps I've seen, I'm liking yours the best! Thanks for putting this out.
Thank you! I’m loving it. Definitely an amazing upgrade to the rig
Got the 2007 Xterra awesome truck
Your rig has really come a long way man. Congrats.
Thank you! I’m really happy with how it is coming along!
Wow didn't know you could do this!!! I just got an 05 6mt with locker. This will for sure be my suspension upgrade!
It’s definitely worth it if you an afford it
@@conheck_offroad suspension is only worth doing right and doing once!!
Agreed
@@conheck_offroad what's the cost to do the upgrade swap. And is it worth doing. For maybe a daily driver

nice setup! can you do a deep dive on the diesel heater setup? asking for a friend... XD
Thanks! I don’t currently have a diesel heater… yet 🤪

Great rundown. Such an awesome X!
Thanks mike! 🙌🏽🙏🏻
Quick question how did you get the alignment done after the suspension swap ?
I took it to a shop and had them do it
Have you measured your droop up front? I tried adding preload with half that many threads showing and I only had 2” of droop. :(
No I haven’t tried yet
Nice detailed video and such an awesome rig.
Thank you!! 🙌🏽
I have a stock 2010, man I am jealous

I haven’t had any issues in that area that I can tell

Dang 1000 lbs over stock!? I went 400lb over stock on my Alcans and they're pretty stiff
Mine are pretty stiff when I don’t have any gear packed. But once I’m fully loaded it softens up nicely to give a smooth ride
Why didn’t you go with the 2.5 remote reservoir in the front?
MKIIs don’t come with remote resi. The radflos don’t like to be compressed past 4” of lift. That’s why I went with the MKIIs
Did you have to do any modification to fit the 35's?
Yes, front and rear modifications were required
What exhaust tip is that?
whats the best year of the nissan titan truck if i buy a wreaked truck to use for titan swap on a 2006 xterra?
I’d look for a 2010-2015
@@conheck_offroad thanks
how many inches of droop do you have at 4.5" of lift?
I haven’t taken any specific measurements, but it maxes out my floor Jack just to get the tires off the ground
very informative, thanks
You are welcome! 🙌🏽
how the tire wear a yr later?
The wear was good. Wore in nice and evenly. I’m now on a new set of Nitto trail grapplers. But have no complaints about the Mickeys

@CONHECK21 is there a budget , amazon maybe,
Didn’t realize xterra’s had the leaf springs underneath the axles while the frontiers were on top.
Yeah, some people actually flip it to be the other way around similar to the frontiers. I just haven’t done that yet.
@@conheck_offroadwhat's the benefit? Clearance?
the MK2 are so much quieter then the Radflos!!!!
Yes they are!

Never seen a titan swapped gen 1. But you could be the first!
