Nice Xterra ! i sold my gen 2 2010 Xterra and bough a mint low mileage 2000 Xterra SE in yellow, have always loved the first gen body styles and the 2000 - 2001 had a very good limited slip diff before Nissan weakened the LSD in the 2002 - 2004 because of costumer complaints of chirping tires going around corners in the 2000-01 . I do mostly forest roads and back roads to Lakes, hiking trail heads and fire lookouts and have a mild 2 inch lift with 32 inch tires, love my little yellow Xterra !
That’s awesome feel free to follow me on facebook @ trail Xploration would love to see a pic of your Xterra
love this set up, uptop overland makes the best roof rack in my opinion!
Thanks I agree this roof rack is the best one out for the X
Nice. I literally just did all control arms, bilsteins w/ ado rckilla kit, new leafs, shackles, etc. also ripped out my abs sensor when i dropped the knuckle, oops. Needed a new ABS sensor. Had i known the job would become so involved, i would have rather done this titan swap... I was impressed what my bone stock 07 off-road was capable of with just 33" tires. Ive wheeled toyotas and fords before, I think you'll like the xturd
Thanks for the comment.
So wait. You can change out to the front Titan diff, is it ok to run the stock rear diff? No gear ratio problems ect? Awesome video, thanks for the content!!!
Yes as long as you get a front differential with the same ratio as the rear differential.
Yours didn't have the PRO-4X M205 front-diff? Link to that tie-rod tool? Did the hose clamp on the tie rod ever give you problems?
The M205 is from the Titan, Xterra only came with the R180. No issues with the hose clamp.

Good looking Xterra!
Thanks
Nice job man. Looks real good!
Thanks I appreciate it.
Nice job man! I just did a axle swap on my sv to a m226 from a pro 4x. I already put the Bilstein 5100 kit from ado on with their uca's. I really am thinking hard about titan swapping but i definitely want to replace my r180 front diff but the only thing holding me back is ill need to regear bc im on 313 gearing and i dont feel comfortable doing the regear myself installing the diff is no problem but if i go to 35s i definitely gotta get rid of the 313 gears.
Yeah I next step is a regear but if I don’t do the level of difficulty trails I like to do I would be fine with the 3.36 gears.
nice video. thanks. I recently traded in my 2006 Xterra for a 23' frontier pro4x. Already have a fox kit on my 23' pro4x, maybe when it's paid off in a few years, I'll install a titan swap. nice to see you also did the front M205 diff. Where did you source the titan diff? Let me know if those parabolic leaf packs squeak. mine did. and were pretty stiff, need lots of weight over the back end for it to ride nice.
Yes the diff was from a Titan, no squeaks from the parabolic springs. But they due need weight to properly work.
Did you extend the correct rear brake lines? It looks like you still have the rubber lines from the axle to the body which I thought were the ones youd want to extend to allow for more axle droop. I didn't think the length of the lines from the middle of the axle to the rotors would change with the lift.
Yes, I installed extended stainless steel brake lines from the Z1 off-road in the rear and the front
@@trailxploration30:45 the lines in the background going from the top of the axle tube to the body/master cylinder don't look changed
Following up on the brake lines...did a problem present itself in the rear?
I only changed the rubber brake lines to extended stainless steel brake lines from Z1 Offroad. That’s all that needed replacing.
You changed the wrong lines. The soft lines to the calipers are fine because nothing changes on the axle when you lift the rear. Where you need extended lines is the flex lines from the body to the axle. You will eventually rip out the stock length brake lines at full droop. @trailxploration
looks great, what rear bumper are you using

Check out the rig it might look familiar
Have 2 questions if you have time, 1st can you swap LCA and tie rods without for time being the UCA? 2nd how do you change out the driverside motor mount, I can't get to the 2 bracket bolts under to pull it out because of 4x4 differential any help thanks
fairly new to offroading, so mentioning those parts just confuse me. I like how it sits, what lift kit is that and how many inches if it has any
Alldogs Offroad Titan Swap Kit for 2005-2015 Nissan w/ADO Enhanced Fox 2.0 Shocks it gave it a 4 inch lift.
nice rig..just picked up a 08 xterra with a blown rear differential for 2 gran (dont know if thats a good deal or no lol) anyway i figured id upgrade the diff since i have to change it anyway what year donor titan did you get your parts from or weather any year will fit?
2005 to 2015 Titan M205 will work in the Xterra
That is TIGHT!
Thanks
Beautiful truck
Thanks
awesome video! BTW, it's not " blood, sweat, and tears" it's "blood, sweat, and SKILLS" 😎👍
Thanks I appreciate that!
Awesome! So you used 1.5" Spacer for the rear to Karcher the track width of the front? I asked the question once before and people where saying I needed 3" spacers on each side for the rear to match the front
Yes the 1.5” spacer worked great to match the front.
nicely done!!
Thanks!
Where did you source your Titan parts? Are they easy to locate?
I got all the aftermarket parts from All Dogs Offroad and bought the front differential off of facebook marketplace. Yes lots of places to get parts.
Next time take a small electric hammer or air hammer n spread your knuckle on your upper and lower ball joints n it'll pop right out and u won't bust your ball joint boots
Thanks that’s a great idea
I’ve never seen someone take apart an entire front end and NOT remove the brake rotor. It’s literally just floating. It’s the heaviest part & it’s not attached. Just rubber mallet whack and the rotor falls off. Have you never changed your brake rotors?
No I haven’t I tried removing them with a mallet must of not hit it hard enough they were in good shape with little wear as the previous owner had replaced them per the carfax less than a year ago.

So what's likely to happen now is that your steering rack will explode. Say you hit a rock. The force has to go somewhere. Same reason I dont swap some 200 series stuff on my 4runner. Easier to replace my tie rods than the steering rack. Keep a close eye on your power steering fluid too
Please explain while I grab a cup of tea...
@@___Karma__ same. Always want to learn the downside of this swap
Have you seen the xterra forums? Just flooded with that exact same complaint! 😅
@@___Karma__ stock steering components cant really hold all this new weight is what im assuming hes pointing out, biggest thing i see when people do the titan swap is your power steering is gonna be working like hell so youll wanna upgrade that too. stock these trucks arent supposed to support 35s and heavier duty front end parts so it just wears it down faster
@@jeremymcstravick9162 imagine that lol
