Looks awesome! Great build. I sold my xterra last year. Had an OME 1 1/2 inch lift with 33 in tires. It was fun to drive. Hope Nissan brings them back into production in America.
Right on. Love seeing more vk56 swaps. Got my 2018 6MT King Cab Frontier VK56 swap done this summer. First one in Canada. Other than 33s and a small lift, I kept it pretty lightweight and it hauls ass. 5 second 0-60. Looking to buy some 18" wheels and go down to 31.5" toyo proxes and get in to the 4 second 0-60 territory. Love this thing.
Thanks. I have 2 - 2005 Xterra’s. Wanted to do this VK upgrade, but don’t have the time. So I found a 2008 R51 V8 4x4. It weighs about 650 pounds more than the Xterra’s. Even with the added weight, the R51 Pathfinder with that 5.6 rocks!
If I did a full walk around the video would be so long! I’ve got another video coming out next week that breaks down my diy interior setup. So be sure to check that out. What else would you like to see?
I believe I seen your xterra at arches national park in september? I literally pulled back through the parking lot to take a second look! We are new to overlanding and started with our yukon, but after seeing your xterra (or one very similar) I got home and bought my own xterra!
Dig your rig! I had a nice Pathfinder back in the day, the exterra got me interested in Nissan again, now this…cool stuff! Thanks! How did you get 38”s under that though.
Very nice! I noticed that your Hi-Lift jack was not mounted on the intended spot. Is it because the 37s are so wide it wouldn't fit? I have the same hefty fabworks bumper and wheel carrier.
There is an adapter plate that you can get for the manual transmission. Other than that, I don’t know too much more since I didn’t deal with that, but I do know it is possible to use it with a manual.
Is there a provider in Utah that will do it all for me? Obviously it will cost more, but I just don't have the space to manage a swap. I've been looking for a mechanic with experience doing swaps.
Nice Rig setup i have a 2006 xterra 2 1/2 lift on 33s atm mybe someday mine will be there lol Have a Question i cant find anywhere online No Power to my Power Windows checked link fuse under hood still good mirror and locks work but no window could you send me in the right direction and thxs

We can only hope and pray 🙏🏻 😂
I went from the 4.0 Xterra to a V8 Pathfinder. Nothing beats the sound of a roaring V8 lol
Couldn’t agree more!!

Did you use the Xterra's 6MT?
It looks like the engine bay was made for the vk56 it fits perfectly.
It really was! So much more room to work on it then with the vq
@@conheck_offroaddid you have to upgrade your steering rack to accommodate your tire size I figured the stock rack would struggle with 37s or 38s?
@thedude828-ed2nn the steering racks are the same across titan frontier and xterra. Only difference is tie rod length
Looks sick man glad this popped up on my feed. Long live the V8
Thanks! Definitely loving the v8!

Oh yeah! The v8 pathfinder is a solid platform !
Is there a V8 / manual transmission route?
Yep you can pair the vk with the manual transmission from a xterra but you have to have an adapter plate
Can I stick with my 6 speed manual? Or is there a Manual trans thatll work?
There is an adapter plate you can get to utilize your 6speed. Check out c3 adapters
Thanks for the thorough video.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice build! There is nothing like an Xterra with a VK swap.
It's the best!
We need a full walk around of your Xterra!!!!!

@@conheck_offroad Is that a Shrockworks front bumper? I really like, hopefully it's something still available.
@@rand0mguy369 shrockworks has been gone for years. It’s an expedition one bumper. Still being made today
@@conheck_offroad Great to hear! Thanks

I was there in September! Welcome to the xterra fam!

Lots of cutting along with some hopes and dreams

I just didn’t have it on for a bit. But it still fits there
What happened to blow up the original v6? How many miles were on it at the time?
Not 100% sure. The shop found coolant in the oil. They didn’t say much other than that. But it barely ran afterwards. 187k
What did you do for the intake tube? Is it from a different kit?
It’s custom fabricated and welded by the guy who did all the work
MF GOALS!! Nicely done!
Thank you! Super happy with how the rig has turned out over the years!
Sounds killer and looks super sick on those 38s. Have '11 Pro 4x 6spd. Thinking of doing this now except for the transmission issue. Thoughts?

Late reply I know, but i have a 2011 manual with the VK, works great.
Can you do this with a 2wd xterra?
Yeah you can. The swap has nothing to do with 2wd or 4wd
Is there a provider in Utah that will do it all for me? Obviously it will cost more, but I just don't have the space to manage a swap. I've been looking for a mechanic with experience doing swaps.
The guy that did my swap lives in Utah. He did it out of his garage.
That thing is a monster! Is it SAS'd Thank you for the video 🤙🏽
Still ifs
Im moving to Maryland what are the restrictions to getting emissions registered Xterra?
Restrictions? Not too sure. I just know that it has to pass inspection and emissions test to be able to be registered.
How can I get in contact with you to get guidance, so many questions? lol

Sick rig, but your intro is complete ear rape. Especially for headphone users. Basically a jump scare.
