amazing video bro, i got a 07 xterra se 4x4 all i done to it is a 2.5 readyliyft revo at 33 and bilsteins 5100 rear shocks as of now and I am loving it.. looking into doing a titan swap suspension soon although technically its a "thee family truck" this video was very helpful thank you!
Why are the spring coils contacting the shock body? Also, I use both a combination of Alcan springs and Daystar shackles for a 2.5" lift after settling. The big advantage of using shackles is that it keeps your pinion angle straight without having to use axle shims. My '08 SE has an M226 rear with an Armada M205 front (matching gear ratios) with V8 Pathfinder CVs, Radflo 2.5 with PRG UCAs. I considered titan swap, but in my state it's against the law to have exposed tires outside the fenders, and I have been ticketed for this in the past with an older Jeep. So I kept stock width, but still have 2.5" lift in front on 33s.
Because the stem nut wasn't tightened enough before and the spring moved. There isn't a set bushing for this setup when I built these years a go. I have since remedied that also want to swap to CJD tophats.
Very well if used with the correct top hats and the bottom perch. Anymore preload and I wouldn't prefer them.. I'm swapping to the CJD top hat eventually. I like his design better.
@TheSmittysGarage I have the same set up but with 3rd gen 4runner springs, drives really nice. I have CJD tophats, the 3 screws on top that go into the coil bucket didn't line up with the stock holes so I had to drill out the holes a little bigger...just fyi.
@@TheSmittysGarage That's my goal- I've ordered a VK56VD and I need to get my hands on a 7speed transmission and a 2017 CANBUS and I'll be set for going from my current titan-swap to the CJD long-travel.
I'm planning on titan swapping my 07x, Fox is coming out with shocks for the titan swap soon. Until they come out I'm not sure what i'll run for shocks, how much travel are you getting out of the tundra Bilstein?
@@TheSmittysGarage That's solid, since you have some experience with the tundra Bilstein set up, what spring/shock combo would you recommend i run? it will be with the OEM tophats, hybrid steel bumper, winch, sliders, skids
FActs!! Love your build, I just got an Xterra, slowly building it for some trails soon.
The Turning radius is so much better titan-swapped, I love it.

just buy over time and choose a weekend to put it together. It will still function as a daily and will be even more fun.
Beast of a build dude! Love the 5.6L. Want to drop it in mine at some point!
Thanks bud. Hope if you make the move. It's worth it.
Good run down. Very nice X.

Get fender flares and stay with stock offset wheels. Plenty have done it.
Great info!
Thanks for the feedback.
Hit me up about the VK. I've got a VK56VD and I'm trying to get it in my Xterra. Got some vids on my page.
How do the Tundra 5100 handle the FJ spring rates particularly on washboard roads...nice rig!

I'm keeping my spring rate as I'm pleased with it as well. I wouldn't mind finding the Eibach equivalent though in blue. @ryanchan6590
Do this xterra is for sale very nice nissan xterra what year.
Are you using the stock brake master cylinder still? How’s the pedal feel?
Yes, there's more pedal feel but doesn't bother me. I extended the rod 1/2 turn from stock.
Now swap out the titan-swap for a CJD long travel setup- 8" longer per side instead of 3" per side lol.
that's the plan😁

I have to measure total up and down. I believe this combination was advertised between 10-11" of total travel.

floor it already
