Listening through again Lupins line of “none of us is hiding sirius black in our cloaks” is interesting because one person actually is hiding a wizard in his cloak.
Btw, Lupin is so fast asleep because Sep 1, 1993 was a FULL MOON! 😮 It could be a side effect of the wolfsbane or he is simply exhausted.
She made every Sept 1st a Sunday, you really think she paid attention to the moon cycle of a specific year/month
Noticed this too!!!!! Never realized till this episode and I instantly had to look it up!
@@TheWiseGrifI doubt she did this intentionally but it’s still there
One thing though, did Lupin have access to wolfsbane potion before the start of the school year?
@@martinschalken7583 he did not receive it before the school year. So I'm sure the transformations were much worse then.
I think Dumbledore sent Lupin a new briefcase with his name engraved on it before the school year, but Lupin as a Werewolf used it as a chew toy so it looked all beat up 😂
I always headcannoned that James gave it to him as a joke the year he died
The "where's Fred" cutaways need to be like the "hey, where's Perry?" cutaways from Phineas and Ferb.
Just had an image in my head of Lupin waking up as Harry would enter, still half asleep, the train triggering memories...
"James?"
Every season of the show, we need to see a scene where "Harry pocketed it"
Noise cancelling socks sounds like a Weasley's Wizard Wheezes product.
New video idea: what if lupin recognises Peter on the train.
Great suggestion!!
1:00:58 "Crap" is what Ron says in your American version of the book.
The UK version has him say "Rubbish" so it's properly British.
Those changes always annoyed me. It's not a big enough difference to bother "fixing" for American audiences, I'd have rather had the original text. Even as a child I could figure out what was meant even if I'd never heard the word before (I did it with plenty of other books!) and that's how you learn new words!
@@Vi_Vi_1 Yeah they really didn't think kids would like to know new words.
I'm Canadian so I grew up not knowing half the words they use in the UK versions, but Canada got the UK versions.
But I loved learning new words. Or adjusting my brain to understand that "football" in that book meant "soccer" in my world.
It's kind of insulting TBH they thought American readers needed whole new versions.
Still wouldn't have minded the chapter art on my versions though.
@@EnbyGaemer2005 agreed. I read other British children's literature at that age and I was fine, I actually really enjoyed learning about how our cultures differed and seeing the words they used instead of us. I have the same frustration with changing the title from "philosopher's stone" to "sorcerer's stone"--I was actually familiar with the philosopher's stone so that switch just confused little 9-year-old me, lol!
The American versions of the first two books also changed Father Christmas to Santa Claus and football to soccer. It's like they're ashamed that the books are British.
The “Where’s Fred?” made me sad when I remembered he’s the only Weasley to die within the series.
Imagine the show kepping a frequent "where is Fred" joke... And then the last time he doesn't pop up... Doesn't answer.
Harry was having an off day, he saved Ginny Arthur and Ron already.
It baffles me that you guys have so many subscribers on your original channel, but so few of them tune into one of the best additions (imho) you've ever made in the form of this channel. I remember when I first felt disappointed that you had moved from Tues/Thurs to Wed/Fri uploads however long ago it was because one of the highlights of my weeks had always been tuning into the channel every T/Th. But then you added this channel and it made everything all better. I love your HP content and absolutely love listening to these episodes on my daily drives through the day. I love this long format and simply cannot believe we are already in the third book!
I'm also shocked they don't have more subscribers here! This is some of my favorite content
Here's why I think this is the case.
When I first heard about this from them, it sounded like they were going to be reading the books like an audio book. I didn't listen to this until I heard on their normal channel that this wasn't the case. Then, I caught up on a 12 hour drive. In my mind, I love the audio books and didn't want a new one.
the less subscribers thing is typical of big youtubers, just be glad their view count is close to their subscriber amount.
I also think that many people listen to this on other pod sites such as Spotify, and subscribe there instead
I also don't understand this. Nost of their main channel videos are about HP, so naturally a vast majority of their viewers should be interested in TTGD as well. It's the best addition to their channel in years, and it's the best HP content on the internet.
I always thought Mr Weasley knew Sirius was Harry's godfather and so, Harry would want to go find him.
What are you talking about?
just an FYI, contrary to popular belief, Tennant wasn't really a household name when Potter came out, his Doctor Who run didn't start until April 06 and Potter came out November 05, so he wasn't a big name back then. Doctor Who is what really propelled him.
So glad they’re back in studio. ❤
Thank god. I started another live episode hate comment right when I clicked and I’m happy to have to have deleted it
I feel like the reason that Neville and Ginny tumbled in is because they both have past trauma (parents and diary respectively) so they will have a more profound reaction to the dementors. So it illustrates the range of dementor powers.
Damn you're right about the trauma. This compartment has all the most trauma filled people on the train. Even Lupin might have some level of trauma from being a werewolf or fighting in the war. No wonder the dementor came in.
Honestly after a fanfic explained it this way it’s been my headcanon lupin is on the train to protect his best friends son against his other best friend he is uniquely qualified to do that
And how would you explain Slughorn being on the train?
@@kinggl0ver9 i feel like he opts to be on the train to have a “slugclub” meeting before the year starts
Harry actually only was at 3 sorting ceremonies, 1st, 4th, and 5th year. He missed 6th year because Malloy petrified him on the train.
I like to believe that McGonagall attended the Sorting Ceremony first, then used the time turner to go back and pull Harry & Hermione out of the group.
Flitwick was the one running the Sorting Ceremony that year. Harry and Hermione see him taking the Sorting Hat and stool away when they go in for the feast.
I had the same thought while listening to this episode. What if Harry gets to the feast maybe 5 minutes after leaving McGonagall's office, but sees McG herself carrying the Hat and stool away? Hermione is already seated, and says "Harry, you've missed the sorting!" Hermione makes vague excuses about a taking a shortcut back with McG. It's even true from a certain point of view.
So I went back to the book and looked. Nope, it doesn't leave any room for my idea. The quick exam with Pomfrey happened in McG's office, and Harry waited out in the corridor. Then they all walked together. It clearly says Flitwick did the sorting ceremony duties.
Darn, missed opportunity.
Do you think Lupin was on the train because there was recently a full moon and he had stayed away from going to Hogwarts early with the other teachers
they confirmed in some kind video that laast night was full moon before boarding train
So happy for those who got to see you guys on tour, but I am glad it’s over ^-^ the vibe here is so calming and I love listening to you guys talk so I listen to the podcast to sleep, and the audience noises meant I couldn’t : (
Dementors. I don't think it was a planned stop when they got on the train. Certainly not with Dumbledore's approval.
@@kimgrod ? Very confused at what this has to do with what I said
I think the chocolate thing is because chocolate releases all the good chemicals in your brain endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin. Serotonin is commonly associated with happiness so it makes sense that someone whos encounter a dementor would need all those chemicals
You mention several times how Hagrid, McGonagall and Flitwick didn't know about Sirius "betraying" the Potters when Fudge talks about it in the Three Broomsticks, but I think they did. It was only Rosmerta that didn't know. McGonagall 100% knows 'cause she's the one that say she remembers Dumbledore offering to the be Secret Keeper himself, and at least Hagrid doesn't act as if it's any news to him. Flitwick doesn't say much of anything, but I think all 3 teachers already knew, so I don't hold it for unlikely that Mr. Weasley knows as well. Even if he did recently learn it it might not have been Dumbledore that told him, it might have been Fudge. Fudge never loved Mr. Weasley, but this is before he gets all anti everyone close to Dumbledore and he is obviously protective of Harry and knows he is close to the Weasleys, so he might have told Arthur why it was extra important to keep an extra eye on Harry.
Can you imagine if on the TV show they do include a running gag of asking, “hey where’s Fred?” that keeps coming up and then at the very end after the battle of Hogwarts we hear it one last time.😭
Oh god 😭😭😭
You'll notice that the noise that is made when they apparate is described as louder for wizards or witches who aren't as powerful and quieter for those who are more powerful. Mundungus', the elves', etc are described as loud cracks but Kingsley's is described as a faint pop, and dumbledore's doesn't seem to make a noise at all.
Personally I like to think Neville was either on his way to or from the bathroom and just kinda wandered into the nearest compartment. That’s the kind of luck he seems to have
Glad to have yall back on the set such a cozy vibe
I always assumed that the sneak-o-scope went off in the train car because at that point Lupin was awake and just pretending to be asleep. Lupin really isn't that forthcoming when it comes to his history with James, so it made sense to me that he would listen in but not want to engage.
That never occurred to me before, but you're right, it makes so much sense. Could be that Remus is also nervous about meeting Harry, or even guilty for not meeting him sooner. With Sirius in Azkhaban, Peter presumed dead and the Dursleys being...well, the Dursleys, he was the closest thing to family that Harry had left. Despite that, due to Remus's self esteem issues and the hard life that he lives as a werewolf, he never sought Harry out. It took Dumbledore to bring them together, and even then, Remus was reticent.
There was a full moon overnight August 31 to September 1, 1993. Lupin had a rough night since he didn't have the wolfsbane potion.
How late in writing the series did JKR set the dates? Remember, in GoF, She had Dudley have a Playstation.......in 1994, when it would not have been available outside of Japan (And by that I mean America, perhaps it would have been even later in Britain) until Harry would have begun his 5th year.
@@LangThoughtsI mean, Nearly Headless Nick's Death Day was established as having happened October 31, 1492, and that being 500 years ago, in book 2, so by book 2 the timeline is already set to the readers
Just what I thought. No wonder he was exhausted. That could also be the reason for the string around the suit case. Maybe the damage was done turing the night and he didn't bother to fix it yet or it get's constantly broken.
@@Vi_Vi_1although JK made a mistake because in philosophers stone nick tells Harry ‘I haven’t eaten in nearly 400 years’ nearly 400 is not 499. So in book 1 he died about 1591 then book 2 he died in 1492
@@joshuacarroll6668 true, I forgot about that, but that's why I specified it was at the very least set by book 2 for us--i didn't want to speculate on when she finalized it, I just know when we were given an actual date
I know its extra work for you guys, but it would be AMAZING if you could upload the tour clips and a studio recording (like this) of each chapter! The comments from viewers are fun, but the audio quality is much better in studio and its just more smooth and easy to follow!
Love your work! Been with you since the "eating yogurt isnt manly video"- you've grown so much!! 😊
My assumption for why the Dementors came to the trio’s compartment in particular was because they were attracted to Harry. They do after all feed on souls…and Harry at this point in the story does technically have TWO souls inside him
Just as much explained by Harry having suffered more than the average person
Kind of like when you crack an egg and there are two yolks inside. They cracked open a train and wow! Two souls for the price of one. 😂
Exactly. Plus, Sirius even tells Harry that the dementors don't sense animals the same way as humans. Being an animagus is how Sirius escaped. So they wouldn't have sensed Peter in his rat form
27:40 "90% of a loading bar filled with memory" is astounsingly accurate.
I love the running joke throughout the series that Harry keeps missing the Sorting. He only actually sits through it twice after his own.
I never even noticed consciously somehow but I also know in which books he missed it
I always assumed this was because the author didn't want to put all the work into writing the unique Hat Song each book.
@@ShadowDogProductionor have to come up with a bunch of names for all the students getting sorted
Is it really a “running joke”? He attends 3/6 years he attends the school.. and would you rather see the flying Ford Anglia and the Knight Bus or hear [read] the same song (literally) and dance with students that is not going to impact the story at all? It takes one sentence to sum up that Ginny got into Gryffindor (oh, and the hat said some words… darn) 😅
@@SithScribe21it’s never the same, it’s specifically mentioned that the Sorting Hat makes new rhymes/songs each year.
Sure they’re similar except for the year the hat reminds the students that all four houses need to work together, though they’re considered highly entertaining
My theory is that Molly messed up the love potion by putting something muggle related in it and this causes Arthur's love for muggle things
Bwahah what if?
i get the feel that bill was a combo of percy and fred / george he's serious and responsible but still knows how to have fun and joke
I agree
The dementors wouldn’t know Peter was in there, because later in the books, doesn’t Sirius say it was easy for him to stay sane in Azkaban because the Dementors don’t care much for animals.
The emotions of Sirius in dog form are much simpler, he said.
And they couldn't even tell that Barty Jr and his mom had swapped.
No what kept him sane was the knowledge he is innocent. The "simpler" animal emotions are what made it possible to escape.
But as said, they didn't even notice or care barty swapping with his mom.
@@wrdreads4742the only reason the dementors couldn’t tell they even say it that one sick and dying person came in and left and still a sick and dying person in the cell they just swapped places
The idea of people constantly saying “Where’s Fred?” Would actually be a really good idea for the series because it sets up his eventual death
It's an interesting coincidence that could have set up the Idea for JK, but how far ahead did JKR plan Fred's passing? She wanted Arthur to be unalived, I doubt she wanted another Weasley to be unalived.
Feels like it could be a similar vibe to, "A platypus? PERRY THE PLATYPUS??!!!" 😂 Until it isn't in the last book. 😢
I see the length of the episode and I am instantly happy. Finally the tour episodes are over
I was looking for this comment! finally the podcast is focused on the contents not the crowd!
I feel the need for a canned laugh track.
Who told you it's done
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one excited for the live shows to end
Definitely is a double-edged sword, huh. If you're there live, I'm sure it's wonderful, but the viewing experience on youtube is definitely diminished compared to the normal ones.
Dementors are a creation of the dark wizard Ekrizdis, who was the original owner of Azkaban. He basically made them by using a variety of evil spells and combining the muggle sailors he captured and tortured with lithefolds. Even the Ministry does not know the full scope of the evils that Ekrizdis got up to on his island before he died and the unplottable spell ended, leading to the island's discovery.
yeesh. if i had a dime for everytime i heard of a guy whose most-known name starts with an 'E', and who has done diabolical and unspeakably horrific things to human beings on a private island, i would have two dimes. which isn't a lot, but it's unfortunate that it's been twice now.
I could see weaker love potions being enough to get you the first date but you've still gotta win them over. And prank love potions could be like "first thing you see,you fall in love with" and you'll have someone trying to woo a bench. It's important to realise love potions aren't permanent and most probably only last a few hours
Yes! If it's accessible, it will be abused. Although we may be applying too much logic to a work of fiction, I like to entertain these thought lines
Like, most kids would be messing with all of the potions right? Can you imagine if you had access as a kid? 😂
@@PaddyMcShane Exactly. I could see a world where you need ID to buy love potions that are actually effective
@@PaddyMcShaneit's not unlike chemistry? Kids are taught lab safety and are sanction for messing around
honestly, i detest the idea of love potions. they're awful and the implications of them are plain gross ngl.
So happy for you guys to be back in the studio. Love it without all the Audience distractions. If possible can you please pre record the episodes when you do the next tour.
My theory is that Voldemort’s boggart is a Dementor. He is so worried about bits of his soul being destroyed and these things are literally soul destroyers.
That is a really good theory! It would also give Harry and Voldemort one more linking similarity.
Unfortunately, his Boggart is canonically his own dead body.
I'd say he's not actually worried about his soul. The way he treated his soul was like it was an afterthought; a resource to be used however he wanted. He's only worried about bits being destroyed because that makes him more vulnerable to dying, which is his actual fear.
@@coolnerdlll6053 I like that just as much tbh
Voldemort’s boggart is Death.
That mustache is amazing! Looking great J!
If you look while they have the chapter art on screen it looks like the portrait is screaming and running away from the dementor.
As far as lifting the trunks to go downstairs, you have to remember they can’t do magic 🪄-@ least the kids can’t-I don’t know why the adults don’t just help with the trunks & I also don’t know why the stairs are not magically widen, either. 😅 And I have a theory about Lupin sleeping 😴: What if he’s just PRETENDING to sleep as part of Dumbledore’s BIG plan to report back to Dumbledore on what the Golden Trio talked about?? 🤔 This would also help explain why he’s ON the train 🚂 to BEGIN with! 😉 Also, in regards to the Dementors & Scrabbers, remember that the Dementors can’t “detect” animals that well; that’s why Sirius COULD prevent the Dementor’s kiss all this time AND why he was able to escape to BEGIN with, also. 😉 And I THINK, in the movie, Hermione DOES call out Harry’s name when he passes out . . . 😉
Yay, back in studio. I bet the live shows are fun for everyone there in person, but not as good for us watching at home.
I figured that the sneak-o-scope went off because Lupin was actually awake and listening to the kids.
I always assumed it was going off due to the grown man in Rons pants. Slightly more deceptive than pretending to sleep.
My head cannon is that the train ride was after a full moon so he was just exhausted
@@slimtree9964your head canon is correct there was a full moon 4:30am on the 1st September 1993 so lupin was in his werewolf form literally 6/7 hours before we meet him
@@slimtree9964 I kinda wish that they had mentioned the moon a couple times, like when Harry was hearing the Weasleys argument by accident the night before they head back to school he looks out a window at the full moon. We wouldn’t remember anything about the moon since we were just informed about Black wanting to kill Harry, but then we could look back and be all “oh, that’s why Lupin slept the whole day on the train.”
@@chrisblanc663that is unfortunate wording.
Oh no! If there’s a running joke about looking for Fred in the show, he won’t answer the final time 😭
You know what, I can see the case for Dumbledore teaching the boggart class for Lupin. While that scene in Fantastic Beasts is probably just there because it's iconic, it is also interesting that the one DADA class we see Dumbledore teach is about a creature that can transfigure itself
I love that the chocolate is described as snapping because it's properly tempered chocolate, and not that cheap stuff that just kind of melts when you hold it in your hands.
doesn't sirius say that the dementors were like... confused? by his emotions when he turned into a dog? they couldn't see him, but they can sense emotions so they knew something was odd about him? like he used to turn into a dog in azkaban and thats part of why he didnt go insane, bc his emotions as a dog were like more primal and less human? so it's possible the dementors entering harry's compartment on the train specifically is because they sense something similar to sirius in peter because peter is also a wizard with emotions that are different bc he's in animal form?
Fun fact. September 1st, 1993 (which would be when everyone is on the Hogwarts Express through this book) was a full moon. Professor lupine was sleeping the whole time because he was going to be transforming soon and wasn't feeling well.
This was so much better then live show my lord
Fun fact: Sept 1st 1993 is a full moon - so Day 1 of school has Lupin turning into a werewolf. And since it's already night when they arrive, he should be transformed before dinner.
Like the one calendar event that JK got right. 😂
I commented this too, glad I wasn't the only one to bring this up.
How late in writing the series did JK set the dates? Remember, in GoF, She had Dudley have a Playstation.......in 1994, when it would not have been available outside of Japan until Harry would have begun his 5th year.
@@wrdreads4742 Well, it's still a wednesday, which is an odd day to start school at. Probably more of a coincidence
@@TheToneBender seriously! Always the First, regardless of the week day. But always acts like it's a Monday. LOL 🤣
I wonder if the dementors make Ginny relieve moments when she was possessed by Tom. That should have made her react even worst then Harry I imagine.
Yes, Lupin being asleep did serve the plot, but, it was also a great clue to his nature. He's described a few days later as looking healthier, like he'd got a few good meals in, and we're meant to assume that's why he looked so sickly on the train and so much healthier by the first lesson. Obviously, however, Lupin was up all night the night before going to Hogwarts, which also could explain why he wasn't already at the school. He got his classroom ready, the full moon approached, so he traveled home to manage the transformation as he'd been accustomed for the past several years, and then convenient caught the train back, giving him ample time to rest after the taxing ordeal.
Using floo powder shortly before the feast would have given him even more time.
My headcanon is that dementors are the soulless bodies of people who have received the dementor’s kiss. The dementors “breed” when they are no longer under the control of the ministry (so they are able to administer the kiss to whoever they want without needing to wait for permission) and I don’t want to imagine any other process of procreation for them. Plus, they understand English, which would make sense if they were once human. And we don’t see a bunch of soulless husks of people wandering around after being subjected to the kiss. Even the way they’re described as smelling sounds like the smell of people who are kept “alive” well past any hope of a meaningful life (ICU nurse here). And their hunger for souls could be because they lack their own souls but no matter how many they consume, it will never fill the void because they’re not their souls.
That's an interesting idea, but my main counter to that would be the fact that up until this point, dementors have only drained the souls of Azkaban prisoners who never leave, so there would be no one walking around without a soul. Also, they understand English? I never knew that lol
This is exactly what I was looking forward for after a week of hard work!
wouldn't Hogwarts be the most haunted building in the Uk considering how many ghosts are haunting the castle.
I don't think wizards view ghosts the same way we muggles do. They're not scary ghosts like in most fiction, they're just transparent people, so they're not really considered haunting.
Peter is in animal form so the dementors can sense him.
Maybe the “diet love potion” is actually “lust potion” like some kind of chocolates and stuff that brings a little spice to relationship.
So, you're saying that if I want to hear the answer to my question I submitted, I have to pay you now? Bummer. Maybe, someday, you release a super cut of all the questions?
Drinking a love potion with your partner feels like it's some kind of experimental drug you're taking together. If consentual it actually sounds kinda interesting I don't see the moral objection to it. The real problem with it is that in almost all cases mentioned there is absolutely no consent (it's basically slipping drugs in someones drink, which is just not cool), but if you do it consentually, it actually sounds kinda fun and I don't see the problem. Quite literally stirring up the feeling of love again. Since love potions seem kinda like young absolutely obsessive love, which is different from the love you feel when being married for over 2 decades (which is still love, but different).
If each horcrux is an equal part of Voldemort but destroying one deletes that piece, then we're going to need the match budget because at one point the diary is destroyed before Nagini is added to the roster, which means that each piece doesn't have exactly 1/8.
Also, in regards to the Shrieking Shack being the most haunted dwelling in Brittain or whatever, does Hogwarts not count? Hogwarts has dozens of ghosts. Surely it is far more haunted than the shack.
Good point. So each horcrux would have 6/49 of his soul. Or 0.122 instead of 0.127
I like how we get info on all the new teachers in books 1-6 before the school year starts - quirrell in the leaky cauldron, Lockhart in Flourish and a Blotts, Lupin on the train, Amos talking about Moody and the bins, Umbridge in the hearing and snape at spinners end/slughorn in Budleigh Babberton
Just had a dark thought. Is Molly always looking for Fred some mild foreshadowing of his passing in the final book? Kinda sad if it is.
How far ahead did JKR plan Fred's passing? She wanted Arthur to be unalived, I doubt she wanted another Weasley to be unalived. The thing with Molly _could_ have been the impetus for her choosing Fred.
@@LangThoughts Or what if her plan to kill Arthur was foreshadowed by him not being at King's Cross in the first book?
I love how it's so obvious that aurors weren't invented yet. Post prisoner, aurors are the only entities hunting dark wizards.
Yes, but there is at least some rationale.
There could be aurors hunting Black, but just not mentioned. And as this is the first break out, Fudge sent them mainly to look like he was on top of things.
At least in Book 4, after aurors have been invented, he still uses dementors as guards, so it reasoning holds up. And just like here, they overstep on the Hogwarts grounds and 'kill' Barty Crouch jr.
I love this podcast and i think its great, but hearing the last and longest chapters of prisoner are going to be more tour episodes is a bit annoying to me, though for all i know the dynamics could be completely different and the episodes can be longer and more content focused.
Cautious optimism
It kind of hurts my Hermione heart that you are taking books apart. But I also kind of love it.
If it helps, Hermione _also_ took out a book page that she'd annotated.

Molly to Fred and George, reminds me of a Greg Brown song, "I remember when." About a mom chewing out her daughter for being out late, but then grandma points out that the mom was the same.
I like the idea of trouble maker Molly, practical joke queen. Maybe she used the love potion to put two other people together? LOL
the toilet seat owl post idea was from experience
I imagine, since she too grew up with a ton of brothers, she had to toughen up and could hang with the guys as such. 😂😂😂
Strange that the shrieking shack is most haunted when hogwarts is right there with at least 5 full time ghosts, 4 of which in official positions with the houses. Not to mention host of ghost parties like the death day party and whatever peeves is. And the ghost horse thestrals. But no, this one house that no one lives in or has heard things from in years which was built just a bit ago deserves the most haunted title 😅

And, very important to remember while you jump through the hoops: you notes are transformative, but the work is derivative. this means you will need to be essentially giving JK a cut of your sales, but you should still get most of it.
good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
side note: this is also a backdoore way for people to stop giving (as much) money to this author, if the wish.
Why doesn’t lupin realize scabbers is wormtail? Serious knew from a picture!
don't worry guys, it was just the one live episode that was a little rough bc of the audience. live episodes aren't automatically bad. keep them up
The thing with dementor in diagon alley is that because it is the largest local economic center for magical people, their effect on people would cause a reduction in business which would bring complaints from the shop owners. So the mimistry couldnt allow the dementors free reign on diahon alley. Maybe they had aurors shadowing harry and the area
On the topic of the jinxing of the DADA position, I think it would be really interesting to see a "What If Dumbledore Gave Tom Riddle the DADA Position?"
Question for ya.
In the Chamber of secrets when Harry and Ron go to visit Hagrid. Hagrid opens the door with a loaded crossbow. Why? Hear me out the only people whom I can think he would think are coming are Aragog(under Hagrid vision is considered a friendly), Dumbledore(super friendly), Harry(Super friendly), or the Ministry(comes but still doesn't get shot). So my long form question turned short is. Who was Hagrid prepared to shoot?
Can’t wait to sign up for the annual tier once it’s set up!! Would love to see you guys bring a show to the southeast, like Florida!
Just watched an F1 race (hey brother!) and then saw that you posted a video as well, and a lengthy one too! What a time to be alive
Thanks For this Guys! Love your podcast❤❤❤
If the Knight Bus is a Zouwu, the cars sound like Hidebehinds.
Yoooooooo
'All are 1/8th parts Voldermort' adds new meaning to 'mark his as his equal'
17:00 are… are you insinuating that there is a “Love” potion which creates a intensely strong, long-lasting passion…. But *ALSO* there is just a “One Night Stand” potion floating around Hogwarts?!!? Darn you, Gred and Forge!!!! 😂😂😂
I've read fan fiction stories that mention students sneaking off to the dungeons to abuse potions. It seems obvious for teens at a magical boarding school. Surely there would be many interesting potions not taught in class. Recipes from the Restricted Section, ingredients from Knockturn... Potions that make the drinker feel so wonderful, so eager, maybe a bit more frisky too. There will be a price to pay a day or two later though.
It might be safer if they just stick with "practicing" carefully timed Cheering Charms all night.
Now that I think about it, if someone got really good at doing Cheering Charms discreetly, they might not need love potions.
Even if someone else did faint on the train because of the Dementors, they weren't The Famous HP.
GRIFFIN DOOOOORRRR! Sunday is the best day of the week
Amortencia lite is Orange Crush
Yay can’t wait for this. Just what I needed today!
The irony of the shrieking shack being the most haunted place in Britain when Hogwarts is filled to the brim with ghost is very funny to me
"You'd think there's another *time* to give her the time turner?"!!!
McGonagall used the time turner to attend the ceremony and talk to Harry and Hermione at the same time. Head canon now, can't change my mind
Dementors deffo can’t sense Peter because they’re not good with animals, the way they Sirius escaped is because he turned into a dog so they deffo couldn’t find a rat.
Let’s gooo I love these episodes! Gonna listen to this while I do stuff round the house
Yeah have had Sundays off consistently at work for a while now. It's part of my routine to do housework and run thru my podcasts 😂
58:39 - Fun Lupin fact! Aug 31-Sept 1, 1993 was a full moon 🌕 Lupin was OUT but that's because he's literally recovering from a moon hangover
Also, an interesting approach to the book pages 🤔 I think thats a little sad you guys wont be able to keep that memorabilia for your selves or to pass on to your kids ! I was initially thinking maybe scanning photo copies of the pages and maybe sending out a digital chapeter would be cool, but now as im typing it out, i could definitely see some sort of copyright law coming in to play 😅 idk....at the end of the day, still super cool to have one of your pages with the writing on it! Thanks brothers!
I'll just mention here, I don'tv know if it was brought up, but I think Neville and Ginny should've passed out when the demontor came in just like Harry did.
I've always assumed that Lupin used the same spell Hermione does to conjure flames you can hold in your hand. I'm certain I recall a scene with Hermione where she pours the flames from her hand into a jar.
In terms of the alternating DADA professors, we know that Flitwick at least taught it once because he was administering the OWL in Snape’s memory in OotP, and it seems that the teacher is present during their subject’s exam
