    Carrie, I love that your mom is so excited to have you knit her socks! My mom is allergic to wool, and can't wear wool socks. But years ago, I knit her a pair of bamboo ones that she loves. Your Scrappy Musselburgh's are so fun😊 Can't wait to see the progress of your crocheted blanket!❤

    Congrats on all your socks... I love Freckled Whimsy's self-striping as well. Her colors are gorgeous... Your Dotted Rays... that's a great color combination. Really nice. Thanks for a lovely little pod. I enjoy your easy-going nature and gratuitous kitty cat shots are always welcome. :)

      Love all the scrappy vibes today. And the big skeins of scrappy yarn.ales me want to break out all the scraps and make and afghan. What a sweet gift for your mom. And The memories you making together. After seeing your dotted rays I went immediately to find scraps in those similar colors. Those colors look fantastic in you.

    You’re so lucky to have a mom who crafts. I love my mom, but she’s not the crafty type. And unfortunately, neither is my adult daughter. I’ve failed to enable two generations.😂

    I absolutely loved my Freckled Whimsy Advent socks! It was my first year to do them, and I know I will be ordering again every year. My only regret is that I didn't order the mini skein. I love the chocolate brown contrast on your socks! It's so enjoyable to sit and knit with you and can't wait for next time. ❤

      Does it take a long time to make a magic knot ball? Your ball looks gigantic. I guess I need to watch (rewatch) the how-to. I watched one a few years back, but was worried it wouldn't stay 'secured.'
      Is it the same as a Russian join?

    I just discovered you from your last vlog and I want you to know that you are totally responsible for the two scrappy Musselbrough hats that I currently have blocking as well as the magic knot ball I have waiting for another one. You are correct, they are totally addictive but the scrap stash does not seem to be diminishing yet!❤. Oh well, the only choice is for more scrappy projects😂. Please keep the content coming - you are delightful 😘

    Love the Dotted Rays shawl! I’m like you… never really know the “best” color to add next! I started one of Ambah O’Brien’s shawls. Tried to do a fade thing. Pffft. I assembled like colors, slowly moving to different shade… then I questioned myself. Should have kept going. And then I was using 10g mini-minis…(would I have enough to finish a row? Then I think, does it really matter? Heck no!)… Languishing at the moment. Sigh.
    I think my “problem” is that I have soooo many hand-dyed variegated or speckled… that I need to use up. Of course! Currently making a loop long cowl w mini-minis (tube), wide stripes, graft at end. Neutral main color, 10 to 12 round/stripe. Purple, blue, green minis. Plan to use your advice: pick the best color At This Moment in Time!!
    Love the scrappy hats + crochet! Beautiful mix of colors!

    • @stolenminutes
      @stolenminutes  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The struggle is real, but in the end, when you finish it and love it all those memories fade. Your tube sounds like a lovely knit that probably goes fast with your color changes!

    Beautiful socks! I need to try to get a sock advent for this year. That fog this week was almost suffocating - I live in Preble County and haven’t seen it that bad & last for over a day like that in years. I’ve been thinking of making the dotted rays shawl for months~you convinced me it’s time, 😁 You talking about spending the day crocheting with your mom is sweet - I miss that time with mine and I’m glad others enjoy it because the memories are so worth having 💜 take care!

      @stolenminutes  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Thank you for hanging out with me! It’s definitely a beginner friendly Stephen West - it does have short rows, but they are not difficult by any means. It’s a great shawl to play with color.🩷

    Great scrapy projects Carrie. I have a question about your magic knot balls. Do you attach your colours before winding or do you wind a little on your ball winder, than magic knot and wind a little more add magic knot. Hopefully this makes sense.

    • @stolenminutes
      @stolenminutes  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wind a little, magic knot, wind a little, magic knot, etc.

    • @stolenminutes

      Yes I do. From my big cake I pull the strand from the middle and hold it with the strand in the outside. No problem with tangling either.

    Carrie on the Stephen West shawl, which is beautiful, how did you weave in the ends on it? Weaving Stephen? All by hand? It would be beautiful as a scrappy magic knit shawl too. Also was the pattern easy to follow? Some of his are quite difficult, how would you rate this one for a knitter? Your knitting is always beautiful. Thanks.

    • @stolenminutes
      @stolenminutes  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I always weave in my ends by hand. I don’t think it’s a difficult pattern. It’s all garter with eyelets. The construction is short rows so there is that, but short rows aren’t difficult. It doesn’t have all the different texture stitches to figure out like others. And if you do a magic ball then you’re not worried about counting rows for color changes. Now I really want to make another😂
