I am so happy I found you and your channel. I'm trying to teach myself to knit from my hospital bed and I probably will never make it but I'm trying. I want to make a musselboro hat for my husband but I can't get things printed her. I had my 5th surgery in my right leg since Sept 2021. I have been in the hospital almost the whole time! But I actually lost my knee joint for good and I have a fused rod from ankle to hip. I will never be able to get on my knees to pray again. That was the first thought then I found out I will never drive again nor walk without looking like Frankenstein. SO I will tell you I'm on pain meds not enough. I am also on a med for depression also not enough. So I try to hang out and shop on etsy and crochet and cuss over this knitting I'm wanting to learn so much I can taste it. My Grandparents lived in ohio and owned a garden center flower shop and I stayed plenty of summers and had people who would come everyday just to hear me talk! I'm from South Carolina. I so miss both of my Grandparents. I haven't been back in years. I will hope to follow you and look at your beautiful work. Oh I'm Charlene nice to meet you.
I’ve seen the Musselburgh hat before but never got around to purchasing it. I went off mid way through watching to purchase and then came back. Thank you for showing us . Hope your husband loved his Christmas present 😊
Well I enjoyed this episode also. I'm glad I subscribed for your first one. And I also liked the the show. Inventing Anna. That is a cute vest. Every year I made my grand children a sweater and as they got older it was harder to figure out what kind and color etc. It's good to know when people are knit worthy!
I understand about non streaming music. Some things aren't available on certain platforms. I've been listening (and adding to my collection) to vinyls lately and been loving it. I find if I walk away from my desk and just listen to albums I actually get more knitting or spinning done.
There is a UK pamphlet,if I remember correctly, about 1938? It has a men’s muffler that looks like the Musselburgh stretched out. The pattern shows wearing it tucked into a coat neck, criss-crossed in front OR tucked inside itself as a hat. This is such a clever knit and yours looks great!
The little vest is adorable and such a great idea. I have little grandaughters that would be perfect for. I love watching your podcast. I wish we were neighbors.😊
If you like Stephen King I recommend “Heart Shaped Box” by Joe Hill same genre and I am enjoying it a lot, about 3/4 of the way through so I don’t know how it ends yet but expect I’ll finish I next couple days because I can’t put it down

I did not know about Freckled Whimsy until after the advent was sold out and not on the website. I'm so sad I'm missing out on that, because the Freckled Whimsy yarn is gorgeous! Hopefully I can join in next year. I am doing the Cozy Knitter for the first time this year though! I'm doing it in fingerless mitts and shorty socks though because I don't wear longer socks, only shorties, and no one else in my family wears hand knit socks, so I am going to just make a few smaller things and try to get the most out of the skeins as possible!
Another great video, keep them coming. I bought some 80/20 sock yarn on vacation and the shop owner told me to be sure and do a swatch because my guage might change compared to a 75/25. I’ve never swatched for socks, do you find that your guage changes with a different blend? Thanks for your input.
Really enjoyed seeing all your beautiful projects! I am looking forward to your Vlogmas. I am a huge Stephen King fan! Have read every book he’s ever written. I am waiting for his newest book from the library

How many skeins did you need for stroll tweed musselburgh hat? Really looks nice!
For the large it took 2 skeins, the x-large took 2 1/2(ish) skeins.

I do not change my needles or stitch count. It doesn't make a big enough difference to me, but definitely worth watching for.

Are you getting two pair because you are doing the contrasting cuff, heel, and toe?
Yes - each 50g skein has 2 full repeats of the stripes. I just do a little figuring as I go for how many stripes I can do for the leg and foot.
