Your trifle wrap is beautiful! I love seeing your kitties. We are getting a kitten on Saturday as a surprise for my daughter- can’t wait! I just started reading The Women. I’ve read most of her books. The Nightingale is still my favorite.
Hi Carrie, love what you've done with the Trifle Shawl so far. Eager to see what it will become when you incorporate all the colours! Re. Kristin Hannah, so far I've only read "The Nightingale" and my response to it could be summarised as "oh my....". "The Women" is on my list but before I get there I want to read some of her earlier books (I tend to like to follow a chronological reading order if I decide to read every single word that an author has written, Kristin Hannah no doubt is one of those authors). On the knitting front I'm just knitting my first pair of fish-lips-kiss-heeled toe-up plain vanilla socks (after knitting so many of the cuff down slip stitch plain vanilla). Finished the first sock, on the leg of the second one now. And I'm really enjoying it! Best wishes from snowy Toronto (it's been snowing for the past 7 hours)!
@@stolenminutes 'The Great Alone' is on my list! Happy with the fit of the fish lips kiss (I've got pretty standard, normal feet) but slip stitch and gusset fits me well too... Actually I am not seeing much of a difference between them in terms of the fit. Though with the fish lips kiss I liked that I can do it toe-up (I tried toe-up with slip stitch and gusset but the heel flap join area looked bad with too many holes).
Hi Carrie, I LOVE your raglan sweater with eyelet detail on the raglan!!!!!! It looks lovely on you. I am always knitting socks! Have 2 pair on the needles and will be done with one of them this weekend. Also have a sweater on the needles, Nature's Cardigan by Hailey Smedley from Ozetta. Being done in Ella Rae Madison 100% wool in a cream color with dark and light gray accent textural yarn bumps. Its been in my stash since about 2008!!!! Love using up the stash yarns! Also, I'm a hard core seamstress/designer and finishing up a beautiful wool jacket. I'll see if I have your email from your vlog notes so I can send you a pic! I am going to be venturing into sewing some knitting bags with zippers so have been ordering some cute fabric/supplies to take on yet another crafty project! I'm retired now so I am having fun!!!!! Love your kitty- he is full of personality!! Some cats are just amazing! I'm a dog person with 2 border collie boys.....just have to stay with the sheep theme right? Have a lovely weekend- Ciao for now! Carrie from Northern San Francisco Bay Area 😘❤🐕🐑🌺☕🌤🧵🪡🧶
Love all of your projects. I am listening to 'The Women' but I am doing it in stages. The Viet Nam war was the one I grew up with. My uncle was a combat pilot and served two tours there. My ex brother in law was Army Intelligence. He suffers from PTSD. That war was on our TV News every night. I love Kristin Hannah's books, and this one is well written. Also loved Erma Bombeck. I am also reading Knitting themed cozy mysteries. I am eagerly awaiting my cat bag. It is shipped-and should be at my house in a day or two.
I always love to see your projects. I especially like the hats and your wrap is wonderful.. I am also a big fan of all the socks. I own several of your project bags, they remain my favorites, I use them all the time. The cats are sweet..
Hi Carrie! Your wrap is beautiful! I can't wait to follow along as you work it up. I've been thinking of making the Felix sweater, I have some lovely dark purple yarn I could use. I'm a little more than 1/2 way done with The Women, and it's so heartbreaking, but excellent. Historical fiction is my favorite, and Kristin Hannah writes some of the best! Give the kitties a pet from me. Take care!
Wonderful to catch up! Love all your projects! I have a Felix Cardigan on the needles, but have been thinking that I might need a sweater for next winter. I can't wait to read The Women. Thanks for the cozy mystery recommendation. Happy Creating!
Thank you for this video Carrie, perfect for a crazy snow day here in Southern Ontario while knitting on my Susan B. Anderson Spring Charm Garland. Your decision to switch out the Mohair colours in your Trifle Wrap is perfect! I had to buy the Felix Sweater pattern after seeing yours😂 Love the 'video bombing' by Shadow!!! Charley Harper!!! You're killin' me!!💕💕💕🤣 Did I miss the shop update??
Thanks, Karin! Shadow is a camera hog😹and that Charley Harper update was super tiny and might have been when you were cruising! They will be back!! Thanks for hanging out with me and knitting!🩷
I’m currently listening to The women. I grew up with the Viet Nam war. She did a great job researching this war. It ended when I was in the 11th grade. My brother would have been drafted if it hadn’t ended. His birthday had come up in the lottery and that’s how they picked the draftees.
I got lucky and got the medium Cardinal bag! Love love that print! I made the Felix Cardigan (LettLopi), ummm, need to add neckband in order to determine length of body & sleeves, sooo there it sits. Ranunculus on my to make list (this year… again). Evidently other things caught my attention, but I’d like to wear this summer (90% cotton, 10% wool). I’ve been researching linen/cotton/ hemp/silk blends for summer tops. What are you making your Ranunculus out of? You can make that pattern in soooo many yarns, weights! So why haven’t I made one yet ??? Sheesh! Love those Pom poms!
My ranuculus is with 2 strands of Shibui, a linen and a merino, that equal a dk. Shibui is no longer in business. My ravelry page for it is up to date. I can’t wait to finish it!
@@stolenminutes MadTosh now has their yarn, they now dye what was once Shibui. Laura Zander (Jimmy Beans Wool) now has that yarn. There’s an article on JBW site (or MadTosh) that explains!! Never used their yarn, but looks so yummy!
Hi friend! Love the way you’re using that special advent!
Thanks, Jill!🩷

Thank you for hanging out with me - and a new kitty!! What a sweet surprise😻
When I saw your Trifle wrap. I thought those colors remind me so much of the cover of the book the women! The audiobook is on my holds list. 😊
It's so good!
I loved Erma Bombeck too. Love your sweater. I have several warm weather tops in cue but have been obsessed with socks!
Socks are easy to be obsessed with!🩷
Love your ongoing projects! The yarns are so pretty! I cannot wait to get my cat bag!
Thanks for hanging out with me and knitting!🩷
Highly recommend Ann Hood books. She wrote “ The Knitting Circle” which is great and I just finished “The Book That Matters Most.”
Thanks for the recommendation!!

Her book ‘The Great Alone’ was excellent as well. How do you like the fit of the fish lips kiss? I’m not hoping for any more snow here!

Well, as a cat owner, you know the rule...you cannot move if a cat has chosen to lay on you! That shawl is going to be gorgeous!!!!!!
My 1yo son must think the cat rule applies to him😂
That is the cat rule😻
