    Hey guys!!! I'm sorry there was no video last week - you know, sometimes things just don't work out how you want them to! Anyway - Moving onwards and upwards! This video has been SUPER requested. I put a lot of time and thought into how I wanted to talk about a weight-maintenance diet - and I hope that this video can be helpful to you in some way. Take note that (like I say in the video), we are all different. Every single person has different needs and so every single person needs a different amount of calories and food each day to maintain their weight. No need to be obsessive about it though, like I said, my best advice is to listen to your body - eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. Focus on the health of your body by eating good whole foods and by making sure that you are in fact eating enough.
    I'm sure some people will say this is way too much food, and I'm sure other people will say this is too little, and then other people will feel it's a good amount - and that's okay, because we are all different and we all feel differently about food. But at the end of the day, this is my "What I eat in a day" video and so it's all about what I eat in a day. Lol!

      I love your channel! I am South African on my mother's side and I find it so soothing to hear your accent! These what I eat in a day videos are so helpful!! I find it so inspiring and it makes it all so easy to plan around! I want to say congratulations on your weight loss journey and on your amazing channel! I'm on a healthier lifestyle and eating habits journey more than a specific weight loss journey (I do have some baby weight to lose but at the moment the most important task for me is making long-term changes to my diet that are key to keeping the weight off for good!). Keep those videos coming! Your recipes are SO GOOD! If you made a cookbook I'd buy it for sure!

    Liezl, I genuinely think that your channel is the best weight loss channel on youtube. I like that you give information about the calories. I have just started into my weight loss journey after my son is one year old now. I have tried a thousand times before. This time I am totally motivated and for the first time it feels right, natural and I am nothing but happy. You play a part in that - You inspire me every day. Thank you.

    I also make your recipes and have lost about 5 pounds in two weeks. I've watched many other videos but I love the way you prepare your meals. They are my favorites. More than that, the inches are melting off. I have roughly 20 pounds more to lose as I am slightly overweight. Thank you for motivating me and making meal planning one less thing to worry about.     It's a shame that for every positive comment, every TH-camr seems to get several negative ones :( While I'm 5'7, vegan, and definitely eat more than this in a day, I don't see the need to hate! We're all different, but I think anyone can find inspiration from you Liezl. You have fantastic recipe ideas and are a pleasure to watch. Ignore the haters! :)

    Amazing meals!!! Because of you I started to eat porridge almost every day for my breakfast and I totally fell in love with it!❤ You show so many ways to prepare oatmeal and I found recipes that I've been obsessed with! For me 1800-1900 is the perfect amount of calories and your video showed me how to spread them properly. Thank you soo much!❤Kisses😘

    Thumbs up from me! I dont know why anyone would think this is a small amount, or a large amount of food. It's just a decent day of food with plenty of nutritious ingredients. You do you, and they can do them. We are all individual and all of us so very different. My daily intake of food looks similar to yours, however! My two pennies worth xx

    People keep forgetting that portions that are considered "normal" nowadays are too big and that's why most adults and many teens/children are chubby/overweight/obese here in the US. Look at portion sizes in the U.S. in the 1960's before the obesity epidemic or in countries like Japan that aren't full of fat people. The girl in the video is eating the right amount to maintain her healthy weight.

While I know that the body type of everyone is different and therefore the different body types of people in different countries can lead to the bigger/smaller portion but I remember feeling astonished when I see US portion size, literally some people could eat that big of a bag of chips?? Or the US plates are so much bigger too wow. Anyway, similarly, people should consider and respect HER size and body she's not eating for their bodies duh 😳

    I 'discovered' you Sunday the 8th April 2018 and oh my goodness I have not looked back! I keep a food diary and i am enjoying all your vlogs! I feel so much healthier and I have lost weight too.     For me, you're amazing! You helped me a lot with your videos, I felt very frustrated, like you did before, I was doing many many exercises, eating healthy, nothing worked to loose weight.. But you were such a great inspiration for me, because you reminded me a lot my own problems so I gave a try to this calories thing and I am 6 kg thinner now :) And I continue.     You'll get a lot more benefit out of the flax seeds if they're ground first. The whole flax seeds tend to pass through the digestive system intact.

    You do a wonderful job at keeping the inside of you body, and skin healthy. You should do a healthy hair routine video too, I'd love to see how a hair stylist transforming your hair at a salon. Even just cutting off like 10cm and adding some long layers would look phenomenal on you. The whole package, healthy inside and out ;)

    I recently subscribed and I love every video I've seen so far! I have to sit down and write down a few recipes of yours one day to try out! I'm 5'3 (160cm) and 65 kg, trying to lose weight. I've lost some so far, and I'm eating around 1400 calories. I'm trying really hard not to get obsessed over numbers, but it's so hard!

    Oh wow !! These recipes look so delicious ! Quick question though, what do you think about the "low-fat" products that we find these days in a lot of food stores?

      Misbah Sultana I know this question isn't directed to me, but I'd like to add my 2 cents :) Sorry for hijacking your question..
      I've seen a ton of "low fat" food everywhere, and it is an insane fad both in USA and India. What I've noticed is that to make this food palatable, companies add either a lot of sugar or sodium and other artificial flavors that may not be the healthiest thing to eat every day. Technically, they're right with their "low fat" claim, but that doesn't necessarily mean these are healthy foods..
      Maybe this is a bad example, but if you see Nutella packaging, it says "made with skim milk powder" which leads you to believe it's low fat. Which is true. What Nutella won't tell you is that it is 60-70% white sugar. Adding 10% of skim milk isn't going to make a large deficit in the calorie intake here. It's what the F&B industry conditions us to believe..
      I'd suggest you read the entire calorie chart including things like amount of sugar per serving or per ounce or per 100 grams, if they have artificial sweeteners or flavor, etc.
      This is what I do.. takes me REALLY long to shop when I'm trying new products but I've become better at calculations over time 😛😛

    You're right that everyone is so different. I'm 5"7, regularly workout and probably eat 2500 a day at least and currently need to gain a bit of weight. Getting to know your own body is so important! Can i ask how you find working out on an empty stomach? I work out in the evening but would like to before work sometimes, but am unsure of working out without having eaten. It's probably different for everyone though!

    I have happily blended healthy meals to fit my body size/height, trying to roughly consume 1,600 calories a day, but I constantly getting hungry every 3 hours? I do consume plenty of water, protein, healthy fats & carbs. So does anyone have advice? Or does it take time for my body to calm down.
