    Noah Elkrief
This video is about how to be happy in life. In order to be happy in life, you first have to understand what makes you unhappy. When answering the question "How to be happy in life?", we tend to think of it as "What will make me happy?", as if happiness is a layer we can add on top of ourselves. Happiness is what remains when there is no suffering. How to be happy in life? Lose your suffering. What causes suffering? Thoughts. No matter what you achieve, it can't get rid of your thoughts. Therefore, it can't make you happy. If you want to be happy in life, then you have to find what thoughts are making you unhappy, and then address those thoughts.
I hope you find this video about how to be happy in life to be helpful.

Arent unhappy thoughts the assessment of unfulfilled needs? Even if I chose to stay oblivious to my needs, they dont disappear as im human. If thoughts are making a need a need, whats our purpose in life? If we dont have needs and goals should I just live? Should I just stay in my room for ever, eat, drink and dont create a value through my thoughts?

Could be because the guy is an inch away from being homeless and his common sense tells him that he’s not going to be very happy when he’s cold and homeless. I guess after he learns to accept it then he can work on being happy again.

I differentiate happiness and contentment. Happiness is like a buzz that comes and goes, the cream on top of the pie. Contentment is more permanent and underlying and can be rested into at any moment we detach ourselves from thought. Contentment doesn't require a smile or jumping up and down with glee. It is more reserved and in line with peace than the rush of happiness. I think when people talking about seeking true happiness, they are actually talking about contentment.
The thrill of seeking happiness in the form of a temporary buzz is what gives life that extra bit of spice. But know that contentment is always there, underneath those goal oriented thoughts, underneath the dissatisfaction and rumination. Proof of this can even be found in the slums of the poorest countries. People can find contentment in the most modest of conditions.

No ONE and no THING can make you happy. Happiness comes from inside us,
not external. If you say that your boyfriend or wife doesn't make you
happy anymore, they not only can't make you happy but why should they?
It's hard enough for each human to evolve inside to find happiness
within themselves and no matter how many things they do for you, no one
can make you happy for real. Buying gifts and standing on your head for
someone just to make them happy is like putting a band aid on top of
cancer. Each person's journey in life is to find a way to be happy or at
least content on their own amidst all the ups and downs of life. If you
say you aren't happy due to a person, you already lose because you are
giving up your personal power to another person and being too weak to do
your own inner work yourself. Our life on earth is a classroom and how
much we evolve inside and how we choose to interact with others shows
whether we die winners or losers. Don't spend your life looking to
others or things to make you happy, because there are very poor, very
sick, and people who are alone in life that have found a way to be happy
despite their circumstances. I always remember this video that shows
these kids in Africa somewhere who don't have a playstation and probably
only eat once a day. They were laughing and smiling while hitting an
old flat ball with a stick, I see mothers who work 3 jobs to take care
of their 2-4 kids with no help from family who are joyful for their life
and don't blame the world. It's easier to blame others for your lot in
life but perhaps those with more are unhappy too. Life is a journey of
ups and downs, the ups are gifts and the downs are lessons, don't make
it more than it is. You WIN when you die HAPPY, but you die alone and
you die penniless because no ONE and no THING is buried along with you. There are no 1-2-3's of happiness so making videos about how to be happy is futile. Each person is unique in their personality, their emotional, mental, and spiritual maturity and are surrounded by other unique people and circumstances that are unlike anyone else, so no method of how to be happy is going to fit anyone BUT YOU.

Forgive me, I made this comment on another video about happiness and copy and pasted it to this one as well. I don't type like this when I am making original comments. I hope you find happiness this holiday season despite the many who feel despair and sadness due to unreasonable expectations of what others say it's supposed to be like. There is no "normal" or best way to do anything, just whatever feels good to each one of us, we have full control of this.

So much of effort and time you put in these videos to heal hearts out there. I see so much honestly and care in the way you speak. I can't fall asleep when it is too quiet, I have been staying alone for years, I used to play just any videos or music to fall asleep, now i just play your videos, and fall asleep while listening. Awesome video Noah. Just wanted to add an important nuance: Emotions are just messengers, (think of them as your ancestors making you aware of changes in your environment). They're trying to help you. Awareness/control of your emotions doesn't mean the goal is to never get angry, or anxious, or sad again. That wouldn't be healthy or even safe. The goal of mindfulness is to become aware of the story you're telling yourself, so that you can let go of the emotion IF/WHEN YOU CHOOSE!
In the job interview example, for instance, you could use the anxiety as motivation to prepare more. Maybe that's what you need, but maybe not. Knowing which one is true takes discernment, and WISDOM :)

    You are GREAT! 😊😍👍
Some coaches make it more complicated with so many steps and instructions, but it's very simple and it's all about the absence of (over)thinking and analysing etc..
It's all about the present moment.
I think the best example are babys. They are simply happy and unworried. No judgments or no worries about tommorow. They cry and then suddenly they laugh. They don't think about past...
However, it's a big challenge to live like that because our mind is sooo hiperactive and always needs to analyse and think..😧

We understand that our unhappiness comes from our thoughts. However as we have to live in this world and and go on living in this world which requires so much things to be responsible and face the problems our thoughts still have to do its duties to try to solve our problems and analyze everything it cannot be detached from us as much as we want it to be. If the problems still be there unsolved and it is not a small problem it is unavoidable to think of. We can only be happy if we can make ourselves not to care or mind everything but this is something we can only do sometimes and not every time. We cannot also force our mind to obey us as to select the kind of thoughts that will make us happy. The important thing is that facing the real situation that triggers our thought is not the same as while we are listening to some good things or advice or reading self help books. We also need to consider the heaviness of each individual cases of suffering and problems. It cannot was treated as the same thing. Thank you
