Just bought a cub zt2 50”. I got it for $4k out the door. Dealer took $500 off and I got a demo w 5.5 hours on it. I like that u can change the hydro oil but don’t like that the filter in the tz350 can’t b changed. Overall I think I got a heck of a deal. Great video.
I just purchased a new mower. Looked at all of these on the list and you just can’t beat the Toro Timecutter Max. It’s a larger frame mower, gets you up a little higher and it’s super comfortable. I got the Kawasaki engine in mine, so that is an option also.
It was Fall when I bought my property a couple years ago so there wasn't much selection near me. Ended up with a Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 60. No problems so far but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like a step up.
… just stepped up my Z2, 60”, to a Z3 I liked the Z2, with Kawasaki 24hp, but, was concerned that I use it a lot, ( more than I planned), and feared the 2200 hydraulic motors might become the weakest point, long term… the Z2, quickly sold, in my front and, for about what I purchased for, with 130 hrs… I have many big hills to mow
the spartan rzc has a 7 gauge fab deck. same as all spartan mowers. it also has the tuff torq 300 hydros. also it has a keyless start and information center. best mower on this list....
The timecutter max imho is the best under 4K all the 50in and up decks get the fr691 kawi motor. The deck acces which this guy knocked is literally the same as the bad boy and spartan too
Facts. I have the 54 inch havoc edition with the 23 hp kawi and my ride suspension.. rides and cuts like a high end commerical mower. worth every penny at 4000 IMO.
I love my toro Titian a little bigger than the timecutter , I looked at both, didn't like the timecutter. It's heavier, it's between residential and commercial mowers.
Interesting that Bad Boy is one of the slowest top speed using the same 2200 hydros. So other brands are pushing them more, being non serviceable that is crucial. 4th year on my BB Magnum being abused cutting logging trails at camp. That deck is indestructible and still on my original blades.
I included that in last year’s Top5 video. Did not include it this year because the deck and build quality is light gauge steel. The Gravely was closer to making it on the list.
Me either. I'm so limited as to what anyone has in stock in AZ to begin with. I'm still perplexed by the Kohler vs Kawi argument plus all the naysayers that say to not go with the ZT220's because of no serviceability.
@@photoray002 the Kohler is ok as long as you take good care of it but the Kawasaki has a better reputation. The ezt2200 is also fine as long as you're not towing a lot of weight, going up steep hills often, and putting hundreds of hours a year on it.
Just out of curiosity - thoughts on the ExMark S Series Quest 54? I know is owned by Toro but also has a 24hp Kohler, EZT2200 and prices round 4200-4300 with rebates. Seems like a solid option
New Commercial Zero Turns start for around $7000. You can get a higher end residential zero turn for around $5500 which will likely have entry level commercial transaxles. Or you can always go used and find a commercial mower for around $4000 that way! Thanks for the comment!
@@wallyyuriy8912I sold my Exmark Quest three years ago, all because the cup holder sucked that bad. A standard bottle of water would fall out easily. The cup holder was way too shallow. A large bottle of Gatorade wouldn’t fit because the cup holder wasn’t big around enough. Nothing fit well in this cup holder. After the 100th time of having to stop and pickup your drink that won’t stay and you will want to sell it too. It may not seem like a big deal to some, but it’s a huge deal who cut a lot of grass, and to people who expect things to work right. It’s a shame because the mower cut great.
No Ariens Ikon No Gravely zt x Both of which are right around 4k and have kawasaki engines + serviceable transaxles... but two bad boy mowers recommended with one being a single cylinder engine... yeah I'm starting to notice a trend here
Gravely is better than the. I Almost included the gravely. However the deck is just not very good on ether of those mowers. You can find some old videos where I included those mowers as well! Nothing against the Ariens or Gravely, if you like those brands. Go for it.
They all have the EZT2200, same as the Ikon. Is that indeed serviceable on all shipping models now? How do other things like spindles hold up among the various models? I read Cub's are not as good, but no personal experience so far.
Their residential mower under 4k is better than the Ariens one so it made it on the list. Keep in mind these are $4000 mowers so the pickings are slim. Haha

Missed the smaller decks like 34", they are very handy for smaller properties and certain gated ones.

It’s my understanding there is a threaded knob you have to remove before you can take off that platform.
And for only 3899, you get The Kawasaki FR691V.

You can tune them and boost up the speed a little bit. That’s why they all go different speeds even though they have the same transaxles

@@chrisb3784 Spindles are mostly the same quality at this price. If you buy an America made brand it's always better then a cheap Chinese owned brand.
The IKON is 11 gauge like the Cub Cadet, right? Or, there are additional design parts you are concerned about?
