Finally someone that finds a really good groove and just keep that on an on! You don't ALWAYS have to think "how can i change this piece, its too boring, its always the same" etc... you can stay on the riff and take all you can get out of it!
Carlock has an amazing sound. Very Bonzo-ish... and with a small bass drum, no less. He excellently demonstrates the kind of rebound and resonance one can get when fulcruming at the bounce point of the stick with the middle finger, instead of at the back of the stick with the index finger. I don't know how he get such a big sound from that bass drum, but holy crap that's fantastic.
I know im asking randomly but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my login password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
I produced and played on a record his wife did about 15 years ago in nyc,he played drums on it,went to the studio a couple of times. Also new him from bleaker st. Always a nice guy.
Watched this killer track, felt inspired to jam along ...10 seconds later I stopped fumbling around on my bass and decided I need to do a lot of practice first👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
great drummer! was pretty underrated, in Europe, before Steely Dan and Toto. But one hint for the sound guys from Vic Firth: Buy or rent a phase meter, before you mix down such a live event. The snare and bass drum are totally ambient instead of punching in the middle.
What a dull audience to play to. Seems the more skilled and exciting you become as a musician the more boring your crowds get, which is a shame, but it only takes a few chords and a basic beat to play to a dance floor of drunk women. Which do you choose?
The Regattabar can be a stiff place to play; lots of clientele with lots of money, tables packed in close. I love the place, having been to a number of shows there; I used to live right down the street in Allston Brighton. Still, it's a venue best for quieter music IMHO.
Just saw Oz and Keith there two nights ago. The place is really tight for sure, but was full. The audience way more involved than here. Oz seemed pleased. I bet the film crew put this audience off a bit. And they put on a great show. Keith is incredibly impressive.
you get gigs where its not dancing music, its music to sit and enjoy, ive played a number of gigs where nobody got up and danced, they sat, listened and applauded. and on the flipside ive done gigs where the only people sat down in the venue were me and the keyboardist!. its give & take, ronnie scotts in london is similar to this, people sait and listen, no dancing
Keith laying the groove like there's no tomorrow. love him
Seen the Oz twice in this room..once with Keith and the other time with Weckl. So now I can die happy.
What a fabulous guitar solo. A cornucopia of juicy blues riffs and modulating melodies. Hat's off.

The Bass player and those smooth 16th's.

I love when Keith switches to the phat snare for the straight 2/4 rock groove and then back again

I was at that show. At the Regatta Bat in Cambridge Mass
Keith Has been one of my favorite drummers since the first time I heard his stylish way to play the drums.
Such a beautiful and natural sound with just 3 (+1) mics on the drums.

Carlock is a great fit for Oz
lol at the guy in the front row nodding his head

Anyone have the chart for this? Curious about the section endings and breaks. Thanks in advance
I like how the guy with the white cap is the only one shaking his head in the crowd :D
Is he playing with 2 snares?

Monster players.
I think Keith cuts his own hair.

🤣
You in from Bogotá?
Oz kills me......
Will somebody get a far for the drummer!
Was this at the Bitter End ?
Carlock.....Mr. Flow yo! That single bass pedal foot ought to be insured against loss. Dayam...
Carlock's pocket is deeeeeeeeeeeeeeppp.
Dat dookie snare is so dookie, I love it.

nice sound Great Rigs !! Awesome Tune !!
its funny to watch his sweat stain grow throughout the video
AT 0:50, guy slips and nearly lands on his arse. That would have added a bit spice! :)

Funky MFs.

Some music gets better the quieter and stiller you stay, because the mind starts to move in place of the body.
all i can say is blokes that sit with there legs crossed just look wrong
I’m changing his name to Keith Sweat. It’s ok, because I’m a sweaty fool when I play, too.
hahaha zildjian stole this footage for their keith carlock sound legacy video
Keith giving it >100% as always. He must lose 10 lbs any time he plays a gig.
Temos uma palavra pra isso: ignorância!
We have a word for this: ignorance!
No, no, I keep trying, but for me he's really just more Oz Noise...sorry
How do you feel about Schofield?
7 minutes without any phrasing is a long time. Are these guys famous?
Being snarky without understanding enough is sad.
No phrasing? Did you listen to it?
there are several errors part of the drummer, and is not a song hard to play
Ladies and gentlemen!!!... The LEGENDARY!!!.... Francisco La-whatshisnuts-err-nevermind.
