I know most of us are here for Dave, myself included, but damn, that is some of the most beautiful keys playing I've heard. Oz's percussive keyboard style plus his beautiful phrasing is a perfect match for Dave's playing. Duo Perfection!

I'm coming up on 40 years of playing drums and I swear when it comes to crisp technique, groove and musicality, this guy is still a head above any other drummer I am aware of. It's amazing to hear drumming in which you know pretty much every note is perfection.

Super tight and pushing forward without sacrificing the loose feel. Beautiful musical ideas within the dense structure of the songs. And in the solo he gears up like there is no tomorrow. Dave reached the point where the complex stuff he plays is always elegant. That is true mastery.

The first time l heard Weckl, I was amazed so much (on Dave Weckl Masterplan CD). Never before I was hear this kind of playing. He inspired me to explore his concepts and learn other sides of drumming. So clean, precise, great touch and feel!

I've played piano back in the day; always wanted to play drums but I've never as much sat down in front of a set. I don't know the meanings of all the various 'drum moves' or how they're done - but my ears work just fine and I'm telling you, I've never heard anything like this guy. If this piece doesn't get you fired up, you're dead.
Dave’s drum notes just flow out of him. I saw him play in Perth, West Australia way back in the 80’s and knew then that he would become the greatest.

Of all my “Drum Heros”, and there are many, Dave Weckl is my favorite. His feel, vocabulary and phrasing is so unique and precise. I can listen all day and night.... There are masters and there are grand masters, Dave has clearly ascended upon the throne of grand mastery. So fortunate to be able to appreciate his skill, talent and mastery. He’s come a long way since French Toast and I’ve been following his career since then.
I saw Dave Weckl do a live clinic when I worked at Thoroughbred Music in Tampa back in about 1986 or 1987. He is the best drummer I have seen. Amazing chops and stamina like none other.
Best music store Tampa had or will ever have. They don't make em' like that anymore. Took lessons next door with Benny Sudano when I was 15. RIP Benny & RIP Elliot Manager of the Drum Dept.

During Rumble, the first tune, the power blew, then you blew us all away with a solo while Chick rebooted the computer and the show went on!! You're still blowing everyone away - 33 years later!! Again, just Wow. Every time I hear the sound of Dave's drums, I think that they sound not only unique other drummers kits but like another instrument altogether, and mixed with his incomparable soulful off the charts (literally) skills, makes for an incomprehensibly authentic yet out of this world experience. Yet again, Wow. and wonderful composition by the way. Fizzing.

I've put a lot of time and effort over the past few years to elevate my playing to a respectful level. I finally got to a point where I was pleased with my playing....And then I came across this video. I watched it twice. I then went and got my DeWalt skill saw and went to work on my drum set and every pair of drum sticks I could find throughout my house. After running the battery completely down on my saw, I swept up all the pieces and emptied it in the middle of my burn pile, poured gasoline over it and lit it up. And that's what I think about that!😅

Dave is still so tight and smooth... one of my favorites for sure.
I had the pleasure of seeing Dave and his band twice at Zanzibar in Philly, which is now closed. What an amazing talent to experience up close, he was all that and a can of whip cream to say the least.
Watched him for so long and he's just getting better. Keys are great too btw

I've been lucky to see Dave 3 times live - twice in the early 2000's with the Dave Weckl Band, and then in 2018 with Mike Stern... Simply stunning, so complex without being wanky or ever loosing the groove! (I live in Australia so seeing big name fusion players is kinda rare)

The first time I heard Weckl was on Step It by Bill Connors. It was a big influence on me. I had never heard anyone play so smoothly and tastily. I was hooked. I remember the criticism her got at the time too...but here he is, even better than ever. It takes a true artist to be humble enough to constantly improve and move forward.
