That's the way to do it. You're not ruining the throttle assembly and adjustability is still there.

Great view I've seen people try to do it and explain from a camera angle 6 ft away

You need to put a small spring on the screw to keep tension on it so it wont move once you set it.

Great video! Was easy to follow. I did these steps and got the gov removed but now when I’ve got throttle full out it backs itself off then re-engages. Any advice on what could be causing and how to fix?

The linkage probably has too much play in the spring. The stock spring on the throttle assembly is too long and binds up. Look up bike model you have followed by throttle linkage assembly and there's a ton of mods you can do to make the throttle wider(more minute changes in throttle doesnt feel like off or on anymore), feel more responsive, and no cutting out. I've found that if you pull the throttle as hard as you can trying to go top speed it goes slower haven't modded my linkage yet been riding a dirtbike but it seems simple just didn't have any videos a few years ago. Also throttle cable replacement is a good way to see people set it up the best way

All you had to do was bend that down or cut it. You need to do Governor mod with zip tie

I just had to buy a new engine for my ct200u i just installed it it tops out at 20 if I remove the Throddle screw will it cause any damage?

yea it can cause the values to float so what u should do is replace the valve springs to some 18 pound ones to fix it

I just snipped the tab off so the screw goes over the tab. I was lazy haha I just had to take the air filter element off to get my snips in

Bad idea! This engine as build, is designed to run at a maximum RPM of 3600. Running faster than that, can cause the ignition magnet to come off of the flywheel doing irreparable things to the engine! This happened in my case. The glued-on magnet came off of the flywheel and broke the coil and its cast mountings, loose from the engine! Now I am SCREWED!

lol that’s the fun part about these you do everything you can think of to make em faster. If something terrible happens to the engine you can buy a brand new engine for less than 150 bucks.

I used a zip tie on the black spring mechanism which is the governor spring not to tight though you can cause stress on the wire itself causing it to take off on its own , word of advice keep the back tire off the ground when testing.. just in case# I learned the hard way ending up in hurting myself trying to catch the bike..I'm a little guy so mines went up to 34mph !~when I tightened it too tight bending the black wire, 31mph is where I have Mines maxed out without it throttling out of control, my next move is a carburetor I gotta do a video some time to show proof.

Yeah and the engine is also designed for lawn equipment. Lol you have to make modifications like this to make it go faster. Do you think they run stock engines in nascar? No they modify them against what the factory deemed right for a daily driver. We don’t rely on mini bikes to pick up the kids at school or go to and from work. We wanna rip around and go fast. And when the engine goes out we can but a whole new engine for less than 150 bucks and do the same stuff we did to the last one because it’s fun
