    Thank you for that good advice man. I'm thinking about getting a GoPro myself so I can do some videos myself. I do some work for the federal government & they will not allow me to do any videos at all. Even when I'm not working for them which sucks because at that point is my personal life. I told the government I like to do videos like kayaking , riding my bikes with the kids , fishing , & Not something that work related. They said they would get back with me but they haven't yet but I keep hearing they talking about letting up dude some video. Like my 30 mile kayak trip I just did I would love to film that cuz it was so much fun. We made a lot of family memories & family friend memory. Some of this information I didn't know about. Thank you for sharing this good information.

      Let's hope they come back with a yes.... seems like a bit of overreach.

      @@wendellfishing I hope they say yes too. They say it's for my safety is why they won't let us do any videos because we are traveling to different states. I have seen them send planes and helicopters to keep an eye on us while we are traveling on the interstate. But they say if I'm just going to do videos on kayaking , biking with the family , or just want to show the truck off they might let me do that but the government would have to be subscribed to my channel to do so & I said I don't care and I still haven't heard nothing back.

    I actually use both the over the shoulder camera and a side mount when I’m kayaking, and I really like the way both shots turn out. These are all great tips, thanks for sharing!

      No problem MK. Thanks for watching and glad it was helpful

    I like the over the shoulder look mixed in with the bow mounted camera. But I prefer a higher positioned camera for the bow. No one wants crotch shots. I do like the setup of having one camera that you can swing around to get facing shots and then swing back to go over the shoulder. Additional cameras for underwater releases are also nice to see. I don't like chest mounts or head mounts.

      I never thought much about under water releases.. but I think I could get into that.

    I like the head mount because it makes the viewer feel like they are actually there. You see exactly what the fisherman sees.
    BTW, excellent information AS ALWAYS!

      Thanks HOTP, I have a head mount but really haven't tried using it yet. Maybe soon

    I also replaced my GoPro battery doors with the doors that have the passthru for the usb c cable.

    • @wendellfishing
      @wendellfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right on Cyberyaker... question... does that door make it waterproof?

    • @charlescurryadventures
      @charlescurryadventures 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wendellfishing not at all. But if you are already running a usb c cable to it, then it is not waterproof already. I had one fall into the lake for several minutes and put a video up on how to repair that. Or at least what worked for me.

    Second note I think I will be working on my audio next. Real windy days suck for GoPros. So I will either get a voice recorder or the rode wireless go II soon.

    For your gopro settings, do you record in wide or superview?

    What mount is that? Does it come with it

    • @wendellfishing
      @wendellfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey boss, it comes with the Lock N Load Base that will fit in your gear trac (if you have one) It's compatible with both cameras using 1/4-20 tripod threads and the GoPro attachment. You can see some pictures here: geni.us/YakAttackBoomstick

      @@wendellfishing so the big one, do you think the max pro would be better for over the shoulder shot? I guess it would be more stable for the windy/ big waves typa lakes.

      @@wendellfishing or should I go with the hero 9? I just wanna run it at 1080 for decent footage. I feel like hero 9 would be better chest POV rather than over the shoulder.

    Would the extreme ok to use to record at 1080p or will it heat up the GoPro more?

    • @wendellfishing
      @wendellfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use both Extreme and Ultra cards in shooting 1080 with no issue.

    Do you have a mic on camera or on your body while filming over the shoulder?

    • @wendellfishing
      @wendellfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's one way to do it. I just run two camera's and utilize the over the shoulder shot more for B footage and my chest mount for the audio.

  • @DiscoveryDarks
    @DiscoveryDarks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    4k is a waste imo. Most people will not watch your videos in 4k and it just adds hours to rendering for no reason. 1080p is the way to go.

    • @wendellfishing
      @wendellfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      AT, I think I'm in alignment with your thoughts on this. I'm not interested right now in 4K
