Never knew about Tacticam action cameras. I have some Tacticam trail cams but this is now on my shopping list. Thank you. I recently just started my youtube channel and have been using a DJI Pocket 2 (which I love) but, It has it's limits and I feel the tacticam cam help with my videoing and give me more options. This is second video of yours's that I have watched and enjoyed both so I subscribed.
Awesome! I had no real appreciation for the work and setup required to get incredible video that you provide. I am really excited to get started and put to work all your advice with my camera! Thank you again!
Chad what an awesome product!! Great idea behind the video, I would have never thought about how to set up cameras for filming content or just to show friend and family. It is a huge pain to hold a fish and take a pic,lol.. seems pretty simple now that you have explained how you do it.. You just always seem to have all the answers. Thanks and Drop that next video, let's GOOO....
I have enjoyed watching you when wildernesses Kayak was a big part of your kayak basking TV and a lot of your tutorials. Because of your influence in the kayak industry, I bought a wilderness 115. This vlog and many others are informative and fun to watch. Thanks for making my kayak fishing better. Hopefully, I will step up to a newer kayak someday, but the old 115 still gets me around. Thank you!
Another great option is to use a large sd card and let the cameras run from the start of your trip to the end with an external battery bank.. This way you never miss any crucial footage. Cool vid Chad thanks for sharing..
I joined KBF this year and I hope to get a new kayak by April. I can't wait to start filming my catches. Your advise to start with 1 camera sounds like a great plan. Thanks, Chad.
My GoPro remote operation has been driving me insane. I finally mounted it to my life jacket (hate the chest strap) and control the camera manually. I’m hunting down tacticam (not sure of the spelling and haven’t checked your links yet) as soon as this comment is done. Thanks again. Very good informative stuff. And now I’m done so it’s google time.
I never thought of videoing when I fish but the whole point of catching the fish twice is pretty cool and instead of coming home and telling the story I could show it ! Huh that’s got me thinking 🤔 work hard play hard 👊
Chad, Awesome video. I've been want to film myself fishing. I love at the end of your video when you say start with one camera. Just what I'm going to try. Thank you!!!
I love the info here. Im currently using 2 gopros for filming. I think ill look into using my tactacams as well. Thanks for the video and great information
Really enjoyed this video I been just running one GoPro but have been considering picking up a FishI and a mother action camera for under water releases. Again thanks for making this video and showing how you setup your camera.
I’ve been a GoPro guy since using the Hero, Hero 2, 3, and now 7. Mainly videotaping cycling of a group I’m in. Now getting into fishing recently buying 2 Feelfree kayaks and planning on using the Hero 3 and 7. The 7 with the money shot up and behind on a schedule 40 1” pvc. The other as a front shot to get the fish and talk some. I’m hoping to use voice activation for the 7 and commentary front view with the 3. Really enjoyed your video. A lot to think about! Good advice to start small, but may continue small and simple..less footage to edit!
Great information and instructions! 👍👍 I watch Fish the Moment channel also. Y’all are some fish catchin cool Kats 😎. Have a great one Chad! Best wishes and God Bless
Great video. I'm going to check into the Tactacam. If I had three Tactacams on pause and click one button on the remote do all three turn on at once? Also, are there any glitches with the Tactacam remote operations? A quick note, 1rod built his channel with a Gopro and an outstanding personality, ha ha...Thanks for great content.
As always, thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your videos. Contemplating getting a Fish-i as well. GoPro battery isn’t lasting long enough. (Mine is rather old. Lol) Thanks for all the details and suggestions! 💪🏻👊🏻
Hey, Chad thanks for the video. I use two GoPro 8 cameras on my kayak, one in the back of the kayak and one in front of the kayak facing me. I also have the Dakota Lithium Powerbox 10, 12V 10AH battery that supplies power to both cameras and my fish finder. I replaced the camera battery door with a Ulanzi door that allows connecting a power cord from the GoPro camera to the USB connectors in the Dakota's Powerbox. This allows both cameras and the fishfinder to run for about nine hours of recording without shot them out. Very important, Do Not Include the GoPro Battery on this setup! For the SD card, I am using 256GB for each camera that allows up to 10 hours of recording. If I don't use the fish finder then it lasts over 10 hours of recording until the SD card gets full. I invite you to see my videos so you can take a look. Take care buddy!
I’ve got several. Most of the videos that I’ve Released recently have FISHi footage and audio. The FISHING BIG WORMS video has some. I use a mic cover that I cut to fit it and it works great in the wind
I remember those days of no options for mounting. I used duct tape on a pvc pipe jammed into my rod holder. haha. We've come a long way. You did not mention audio. To me, that's every bit as important as the video. What method do you use? Thanks for sharing your set up.
That's cool man thanks for sharing, have you thought about using a power bank to run your cameras? They can run a camera all day without having to change out your batteries, I have one that will charge 3 smartphone at the same time about 3-4 times
I know this is old video. What camera pole are you using for behind you over the shoulder shots? I'm getting a go pro 10 just to record catches. Not going make YT vids or get into anything extra like that. What's best mount base & pole you recommend for that? I'll be putting it on back of my Hobie PA12 so probably attached at back end of HRail. I think. Thanks!
If your making great content as you do it's always great to have multiple views from allot of advantage points. Once you have a technique set up as you do the filming becomes second nature but the editing never does. Jonny #FishTheMoment putting in work in the #YakSeat.
Just starting the whole recording while I fish thing and I already hate the editing part. I've got 2 cameras (1 over shoulder, 1 facing me) and I've yet to sync camera shots, and all that. I'm a straight up rookie with it, but it sorta adds a level of pressure to fishing, because you wanna catch the big fish for your viewers. Hopefully next week while fishing at Kure Beach I'll get some good footage and be able to sync and edit things a little better. Appreciate the tip 👍
Is the remote reliable with the Fish-I? when I used gopro cams the wifi remote was super bad, would loose connections, would not re-pair the cams after they had been off for awhile the list goes on. What I do now is start both OSMO actions and hope one does not overheat and shut down and just let them record for the whole day with a 256gb sd card LOL
This is the NUMBER 1 reason I went to TACTACAM. The remote is RF and not WiFi, therefore you don’t lose connection or run the battery down to keep the remote connected (which defeats the purpose) and you can even turn the cameras on and off with the remote
Maybe for version 2 of the Fish-I you could suggest they add external ports for 3.5mm mic, USB C and have screw on lens covers so ND filters etc could be used. They came really close on these, too bad it's missing the stuff I mentioned. I mean my Samsung Galaxy s9 has a water proof 3.5 and USB C ports no reason they could not be put in a camera.
They have a connection coming out for the back for that and it will be waterproof and the lenses showed up for me to test and play with about a month ago and I’m just starting to put them into action because of quarantine and now hurricanes. Details coming soon
For comparison purposes the Galaxy S9 was $699 when it came out and it’s still $499 when the S10 came out and cell phones have a much larger potential audience with financing and carrier supplements that increase their product viability, so that’s really comparing apples to walnuts The FISHi is brand new, Covid killed supply chains and there will be much more coming from them.
@@ChadHooverFishing I just meant that if a cell phone can include a 3.5mm mic jack, so can a camera, those jacks they use in the phones cost like 2 dollars. I went through a lot of action cams and the external mic support is critcal. I also tried to do the Zoom recorder and then sync the audio in post and that was a royal pain. or they could do some type of Y cable adapter for the USB C in the back and just have it go through the back cap with a grommet to keep rain out.
The osmo action has the same issue with voice control, if one is recording and you say start recording again it' "STOPS" recording. Common sense would dictate if it receives the START command while already recording it should do nothing...but no it stops recording instead. Can you control the exposure on those tacticams? It looks really washed out for the sky and water.
Love the video! However none of your links to finding these products are working quite well. I literally would buy from all your affiliate links but what you’re showing in this video isn’t matching up with any of the links you’ve provided 😞
@@ChadHooverFishing I have to say the view from you office is much nicer then mine. Nothing like getting up in the morning and watching and watching the sunrise over a lake somewhere. Wait, I guess it's better when the fish are biting!
I guess you do not still use these cameras. iPhone apps for the camera are not supported, have to have an old iPhone to manipulate any camera settings. Making these devices nice ideas but totally useless. Perhaps they’ve abandoned catering to fishermen.

I've recently started using the GoPro Max. It films in 360 degrees. So you can get video footage in all directions with just one camera.
Great video, I'm struggling quite a bit with setting up and synching my gopros for kayak fishing. Looks like the Tactacam is a good option.
I’m doing a video update on this very soon to update my new filming setup, including switching back to GoPro
