I got one of these ive completely dif top end rebuild and runs good at idle but when give throttle dies out ive checked everything plug is super black and fouled i did put bigger carb gonna swap back to small carb n new plug im thinking maybe intake leak i spray it with starting fluid and it does change idle speed
Does putting a bigger carb on these quads make a difference if I was to change pz19 carb to pz22 carb does it make a difference or would it just be the same
Hi do you know how to set the air mixture screw correctly ive heard 2 version of how to do it . 1st one being turn screw one way until it starts to die then turn the other way until it starts to die again the set the screw in the middle . So for example 1 turn out starts to die then agian at 2 turns out then i would set my screw at 1 . 1/2 turns out . The other version is turn the screw until the quad is revving the highest then ajust the idle speed.
Can you swap out pz19 piolt and main jet with a pz22 carb jets i have a pz19 carb and i wanted to out the main and piolt jet into the pz19 carb they do fit but not sure if it would work
I have a 125cc quad and it idle good now and run ok aswell but the spark plug is black even after I changed it after 1 ride its black again I'm unsure weather this is normal or not . Also mine does this thing sometimes where if I dont keep my thumb on the throttle it wont idle even when its warm . But then I ride it round for a minute or so stop and idle fine again then sometimes if I put more then half throttle its cuts out if I keep 50 percent throttle on for a minute or so I'm able to put 100 percent throttle back on again sounds like a carb issue but it's a new carb so thinking more of a ignition coil thing issue possibly
Very informative video..i learned a lot thanks

Very black and fuzzy plug usually indicates too much fuel.
Nice! you got it going!
Customer says it runs great, thanks for watching!

Over fueling the engine with a bigger carb is not usually a good thing. It will likely just run too rich and foul spark plugs.

@@liam6488 Liam, I always use the first way. That's been working for me for years

@@liam6488 Best thing I can offer is try it and see how it goes. The 22 will likely have bigger jets than the 19
What did you end up putting the carb settings at
There is no exact number. Start at 1.5 turns out and tune in or out as needed from there

Its possible it may be a spark issue, but these things are notorious for bad carbs. I'd look into the carb first.
@@randomwrenching thanks sorted carb issue after all
