A few more tips on stuff:
-The engine you found in the workshop would've actually been a good swap. It's the VAZ 2105's (square headlights Lada) and despite its rusty looks it's actually the best engine in the game, both in power and fuel consumption. For the record, the car you have right now is a Dacia 1300.
- If you find another barrel of oil, there's a cap under all four-stroke engines (use mousewheel to crouch down completely) from which you can drain the fairly diluited mixture you're using to replace it with good oil. The better the oil and the more you have, the better performance you get out of the engine.
"We are a smidge wasteful gathering resources" after just wasting 17 liters of water to fill up a 3 liter can lol

Actually, Alex. The objective of the game is to visit your mother. There's a notecard or mail at the starting house that tells you this. I believe you must have missed this at the start. Soo, as a result, I think you will have to drive the total 5000 km

The point of the game is its endless.... and you never find your mother cause she’s probably dead....
@@gravity461shorts3 The game isn't endless, it ends somewhere around 5000 km but not exactly at it but at the end your mother isn't even there and the road just abruptly ends.

Alex, you *blind* plank. The revolver clearly said 6/0, meaning it has a fully loaded chamber.
He also missed out on that rusty rear view mirror :(
Most of all, he keeps ignoring the silver and red striped tanks. Those will hold over 15L of petrol most times.
It's not a chamber though..

Loving this series. Seems like another game that’s incredibly entertaining to watch but don’t really have any interest to play myself.
That's how the first 2 episodes made me feel. But now it's in my steam cart so we'll see
Yeah, it is one of those games were the entertainment mostly originates from the streamer. It looks buggy/frustrating and boring as hell to play alone.
Thats this entire channel to me. Im not a gamer nor do i care to actually play games in the slightest. His commentary is next level and very entertaining. Its good fun to watch or listen to when boredom strikes.
Oh yea, i tried playing this. Super user unfriendly controls and everything seems to bug out
Actually I found myself playing this for almost 30 hours :)) not user friendly true, but it's a lot of fun :))
Today i died in my car because of a rabbit, get into the midel seat on the back, that might help idk
The Bus is more stabel for carrying stuff (stabel i mean less likely to get glitched)
You can use the bus engine whit normal car cooler if you have about 4 L of water in it.
Also when you load up the game walk around your car watch under it, stuff might fall trugh it when you load up
If you want to get hold of a bus you need about 5-8 L of min 5L of water, watch for the cooler for not be rusty
btw the workshops are your best friends! Some times you can find an entire car in it, some times put together some times disasembeld but in my opinion they are better then the ships

You can climb up the aerial towers at the "fire stations" too, there are often items up there. Also, you can change the camera angle when driving to an outside shot, to see the bike is ok.
Be warned - The outside shot (C) can be glitchy:
Sometimes the vehicle will briefly freeze in place and then you're launched across the landscape, wrecking your ride.

That’s how I died The for the first time, I tried getting to the top for like a minute straight, then on one jump I got yeeted like a hundred feet over the top of that tower and fell next to the building, quite the plummet.
I kind-of want to see him try, and move the bus using a 2stroke bike engine

If you haven't tried it, fit a car with bus wheels, radiator, engine and a tank of diesel, its a rocket.
it works best with a Lada sedan (the old pink car), on regular wheels so it wont barrel roll if you turn.

@@brandonsedge7527 it’s pretty random isn’t it? How Alex casually refers to the items he needs for his car, then the same casuality used for the danger of killer rabbits 🐇. Perhaps our humour is on a different position of the spectrum....but it is funny (for me). It’s typical of Alex to say something like that...does it all the time in GTA Online. Maybe you haven’t picked it up.
Doors that open to nothing but a big drop are called "Mother-in Law" doors.
This has become my new favorite series on FailRace.
That bike is welded to the cars using the properties of "Don't touch it. It hasn't fallen off"

No you can't
That bucket on that pole you saw was a transformer, that just limits the amount of electricity that can go into a building, or in that case, the 'fire station'.
At some point in the series, we NEED to attempt to run a car on blood

There is no way I would actually want to play this game myself but I love to watch you play it for some reason

it runs horribly. For a game that takes up less than half a gig of storage, you'd think that it would be very simple and easy to run. It runs like ass. Low settings and I get maybe 20 fps. My laptop isn't the greatest but it has a reasonably modern CPU and it has a dGPU

@@realneth nah. Its just not that well optimized. All unity games are like this for this laptop. i can play GTA V and it runs at 30 fps. This doesn't.
@@abhimaanmayadam5713 I was meming based on the video. Laptops generally suck bc they have terrible cooling. Unity runs amazing on all of my pcs while my laptop struggles with all games despite better specs than my work pc on paper. Sounds like you need a pc lol

From what I've found so far is the boats are pointing back towards the road. The only way I've found my way back. Lol.
(Ive not played the game)...Apparently the road runs due West. If you remember which side of the road the boat was you can navigate back to the road using the Sun -it should always be South-ish. You might have to draw it out of a piece of paper. lol
Most people when lost will walk/drive in big circles- so heading for the sun at all times will stop that.(or heading just to the left of the Sun etc etc).

The orange light that came on was oil temperature. You only had just over 1 litre of water in the radiator. You need to fill it up.

This is fast becoming my fave series.
I actually did get killed by a rabbit while sitting in a closed car. The rabbit also died from hitting the car. Maybe a glitch but being in the car is not 100% safe.
Just a theory, but can you remove the engine, open the cap and flip it so it pours the mixture out so you can put fresh oil in it? The fact that there's no clean oil in the engine is really bugging me and I don't know why.....

The engines all have drain plugs also, you don't even need to flip it
It also bugs us mechanics that he has water in his oil, though it’s kinda funny that he made fun of having alcohol in the radiator when he has water in his oil.

In theory it should work even better than water, since it has a lower freezing point. Not sure how gaskets, thermostats and similar stuff like alcohol, but I can't think of a reason they wouldn't off the top of my head.
As far as i know, the objects placed in the boot and inside the car are temporarily anchored to the car and will remain static until you move them with your hands
So I went into a well once while playing this and found a witches broom down at the bottom which I then managed to fly out of the well with
Surely alcohol in the coolant tank would still work? Should still cool the engine down wouldn’t it?
Alcohol is used as a coolant in some industrial applications.
Blood should work too as it is mostly water.
I doubt the thickness of blood would work well plus it would coagulate eventually

Most things that you pick up, you can hit tab to align them with your view for easier maneuvering.

Can't you use the siphon to get the water and alcohol out of the oil tank? I'm not an expert in cars, but I think these things might eventually cause trouble there.
edit: Also at 28:25 you clearly park in a no parking area.
Edit #5 Alex, a few things to point out are, 1. You're goal (as someone else mentioned) is to visit your mother who lives 5000km away, 2. You can shorten or lengthen your arm (when holding something), as well as squatting and standing (when not holding an item) by using the mouse's scroll wheel to make things easier, 3. The UFO that follows the road occasionally, doesn't do anything to you if you're on the road as it goes by, 4. You can pick up boards to move them, 5. You should check the treads on the tires to make sure they will work properly, 6. When you're in the car you don't need to use the binoculars, just hold the right mouse button.

Thanks for the videos, it has been a great help learning the game! One thing that helps me improve my driving is to put the curser directly in front down the road a bit and focus on that,

Workshops are treasure troves but they vary, first one I found, had so much stuff you couldn't move inside.
A dozen engines, a dozen jerry cans, 2 dozen oil cans, a broken down car and so much junk.
Hey Alex! I do enjoy your videos very much but I have to say the long drive is the game where you tend to miss things a lot.
To help you out a bit here are a few hints that cane make your post apocalyptic life a bit more easy:
1. The panels inside the bus on the ground where you said: "I can dismount through the floor" in last episode can be removed to fill up the bus with more ease. You can reach the engine and coolant tank from inside the bus.
2. If a tank like the oil tank of your car has unwanted stuff in it (alcohol in the oil tank): either open said tank and flip the car over or take out the engine/coolant tank and empty it like you did by accident when you tried to fill the bus. So open the cap and flip it over.
3. You can extract fuel from cars with the "not a snake" you left behind in the trailer. Just get a canister next to the tank (make sure its standing straight), attach the not a snake to the canister FIRST. Then put the other end of the not a snake in the car. Its a bit fiddly but you can eventually make it. Its such a crucial piece id always try to take one. In my play of the long drive ive lost it at some point and it drives me crazy i can't find another one.
4. Be weary about these boards that lie around on the roof racks. They can kill you.
5. It takes 4 Sprays to polish one "layer"

With the bus you had to clean the radiator and get rid of the rust so it doesn’t leak water

it's always fun seeing you not recognizing eastern european stuff, like a syphon bottle, a gas canister, or a transformer on a light pole. Also, that's a fine looking Dacia 1300 you are driving
Transformers on power poles look like that everywhere, Alex is just a plank.
My suggestion is you insert the bus engine into the car. Possibly you could reload until you find a barrel of diesel and then use that as a fuel. Loving the series so far :)

I think the bucket looking thing on the powerline is supposed to be a distribution transformer, it's used to step down the voltage in power lines when the power is delivered to a home

Installing stuff and putting stuff to the car is bit like My Summer Jank. Hopefully we get more of this game.
Easiest to position the jerry can under the water stream on the ground, so you can tell when its full and turn off the tap.
The plastic front bumper with the holes, lets you mount 4 extra lights, your light bar.
The rabbits can get you in the car as they glitch through walls, but if you are in a position to drive sway, that is good.

Rick-Click to zoom in with just your eyes, more practical than the binoculars as stuff visible through them is generally miles away.

I LOVE how there's just tons of turds lying around. Haha. I'm kind of surprised that you didn't just grab an empty drum and fill it with water, once you found water. Maybe for future episodes?
This series is great. I love the bread and butter GTA and Forza stuff but hopefully the popularity of this series will encourage you to make more "adventure" style series

did you know you can put the bus wheels on the little car? perhaps even on the bike. the wheels help negate the effect of riding over rocks on the road, but it does make the handling a bit funny.
Revolvers come loaded but cannot be reloaded, six shots you are done but those shots are more powerful than the BB gun.
I bought this game because of your videos @ 25% off. I am surprised how immersive i find the controls in the simplistic world and just how satisfying the experience is, even in C64 palette mode. After a couple of hours i still have not worked out syphon :s
This new series is so entertaining, during the first 2 minutes Alex @FailRace found Alcohol and a 2nd gun, even if never moved for a day or 2 he could sit on the roof, consume the Alcohol and get Plastered while trying to shoot rabbits.
