I remember playing Mario galaxy 2 when I got my Wii, I remember it getting it at a red box, only had about a couple of days to play it :( never getting a chance to play since my mom always worked Fridays-Sundays (days I have off school) i got a chance to play it on the day I had to return it, played it for about 2 hours, never finished it… out of ever other Mario games I have spent countless hours on like Mario odyssey and super Mario sunshine, I have always remembered Galaxy as one of the best Mario game I’ve ever experienced.

This is my favorite game ever made! Plus, I tend to prefer linear games over more open world ones.
It's also one of my favorite games ever with xenoblade 2 and pokemon white! :)
Super Mario Galaxy is the only game a double jump is VERY justified. Due to the gravity mechanic being disorienting.
The jumps in Mario Galaxy are so satisfying
@@LilyMick Yup. Thanks to the gradual feeling of the movement alongside the double jump. Iirc, the double jump is less of an extra air time and more of a way to re-orient the player on tricky angles.
Keep in mind, in many games, double jumps tend to be used to compensate for potentially less polished game design (or games that don't primarily focus on platforming). But in a game like Super Mario Galaxy, where you aren't always on the screened ground below, the double jump is meant to help with that.
So, even when Nintendo does include a double jump in their 3D Mario games, they managed to make it make sense in the game.
