Am I the only one who really likes the fact that in Tokyo 2020, they actually made sport outfits for the characters with sport shirts, shoes and different outfits for each sport?
London 2012 was my childhood. I absolutely love the game to pieces its amazing. Playing it with my family was so fun with my favourite sports being the sprinting events, volleyball and dream equestrian.
The nostalgia of playing Vancouver 2010 on the DS as a kid late at night and then I would hide it under my pillow and the lights would be flashing so bright she saw it and took it away from me for weeks, I just remember the story mode so well, ugh I miss that era sm
The fact that the series is cancelled makes me want to revisit Sochi 2014 and Tokyo 2020. I used to have Vancouver 2010 for the Wii but I think I lost it a long time ago :( RIP to a truly amazing franchise
2010 for the DS and 2012 for the Wii were a huge part of my childhood, I absolutely loved the story mode for DS and the dream events for 2012 were by far the best, all the references and the soundtracks are just outstanding
Loved the video, its so nice to see someone who genuinely loves the Mario & Sonic at the Olympics series, they are so underrated, also I think its awesome that I had the same Top 3 rankings as yours.
The IOC just keep taking more Ls recently They are forcing countries to create their own olympic mascots. They are adding more and more sports meaning that countries have to build even more arenas even the countries that play it smart qnd and reuse old arenas. And now nfts lol
2012 was unfortunately the only Mario+Sonic Olympic game I ever got to play but it's literally my favorite Wii game im ngl 😭 I have more nostalgia for that game then any other game it was that peak
I really wished that Nintendo SWITCH could have finally announced the released of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games Paris 2024 this year at last especially with Olympics Paris games coming this Summer but it sound like if they're discontinued for unknown reason.
It was just revealed in an article it wasn't ended by either company's choice, it was the actual Olympics that cancelled their partnership in favor of opportunities related to "Esports and NFTs", which honestly sounds like a terrible decision regardless of the general public's feelings about NFTs. There is literally NO way that Esport deals and Olympic NFTs earn more money/attention/lasting interest as two of Video Gaming's largest IPs.
London and Vancouver are the ones I own. I’m mostly leaning towards London, but I’ve spent countless hours playing the number of dream events from both games. I still come back to them for nostalgic memories.
Man, wii london 2012 wii was just perfect and so is wii 2010 winter games, i struggle to find a favorite between the two because i had tons of fun with both of them
I've always had a soft spot for this series cause it's a crossover between two of my favorite video game characters/franchises, while I would love an actual crossover game like an rpg or platformer, I still find this series really charming
London 2012 was the GOAT, both in real life and the Mario and Sonic game. It was so damn fun and having a Mario and Sonic gane coincide with this huge event in my country was awesome as a kid.
I have almost every edition of the Mario & Sonic games. My favorite one is London 2012 on Wii, followed by Vancouver 2010 DS, Rio Olympics (both 3DS and Wii U), and then Tokyo 2020. I don't have any version of Beijing or Sochi.
I remember back, like it was yesterday - Vancouver 2010 on the DS ... I spent so many hours playing the fantastic story mode until I finally got it 100% and also so many hours playing with my friends together with four DS' in one room This was just perfection! London 2012 marks the beginning of my TH-cam channel, so there is a big connection for me to this game, but besides that, I played so many London partys with my best friend at this time Thx for your ranking, brought back a lot of old memories
The 2008 and 2010 games… Damn, I’ve got so many medals there. And so many world records. And most important of all… Many memories with my dad and brother especially. My parents don’t really like games, but Wii Sports (Resort) and the Olympic Games, they did play.
I actually replayed some events again today. Finally understand how the 400m (hurdles work). And improved my world record in javelin throw with Frodo (110.580m) in my first throw in years.
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games 2010 DS was what got me through childhood. I never had a WII growing up, but in my opinion, the Wii version of 2010 and 2012 are the best. But in both the wii and DS version, 2010 has the best and most memorable music in the whole franchise, I don't care come fight me. And who could forget the story mode on the DS. There is a reason these 3 games are definitively the best in the franchise
I know this is based on Mario & Sonic but there were Sonic only IOS Olympic Games for 2020 and Winter 2010. The 2010 one was delisted VERY quickly so not many people got to play it. I got my iPod Touch for Christmas in 2011 and I couldn’t find it on the App Store so 10 year old me was devastated
2010 DS and 2012 wii definitely deserve those spots. They played such a huge part of my childhood. I remember by brother simping for Blaze while I loved Metal Sonic. 2010 was great for the story mode and I loved the party mode in 2012 wii. I mean, we literally ran around the streets of London, overworld and in some minigames, just having a ball. Great games. I know where 2010 is, but we might have lost 2012, I’ll look for it,
5:41 I can remember my first memories from 2008 Beijing. I did 110m hurdles with my brother and I picked Wario. I believe I didn’t jump over a single hurdle. 😂
Pretty solid list! I’m glad many agree that london 2012 is one of the best ones, makes me happy living in London lol. 2012 is very nostalgic for me as I played it a ton with so family and friends who had the game too. I didn’t get 2010 Winter Olympics Wii version until recently when a friend gave it to me but recently but it’s definitely really fun to play. I do want to be Rio 2016’s defender though because while it didn’t have the most going for it event wise it featured some very fun gamemodes and the tournament was some of the most fun I’ve had playing the Olympics on my own because of how challenging it was. Overall every game in the series had its highs and lows but I think they’re all very good, shame it’s all over now hopefully more people get into them and they can get some competition’s going similar to how people kept mario kart wii alive I’d love that honestly.
I agree with most of your choices other than Sochi for the Wii U and Rio for the Wii U. But this series is great overall! Out of the ones I've played, this is how I would rather them: 1. Vancouver 2010 Wii 2. London 2012 Wii 3. Sochi 2014 Wii U 4. Tokyo 2020 Switch 5. Rio 2016 Wii U 6. Beijing 2008 Wii Ngl this is based on nostalgia 😂 I couldn't get to play Rio for a while because I didn't understand how to make the games open when talking to characters with your Mii, and when I finally figured it out I didn't enjoy the events much. I only got Beijing to complete the collection and I found the events too hard to get a good place in. Tokyo 2020 was amazing because of the variety of events, as well as the retro events, story mode and online multiplayer as I was finally old enough for my parents to let me do it by that point! I probably could've done online multiplayer in 2014 and 2016 but I couldn't understand how to set it up by that point. Sochi's events weren't all great, but playing that "festival" mode, if you like, was fun, I enjoyed facing rivals, and OH BOY did I love the Bullet Bill sledge race and that one where you keep changing Olympic equipment! If only they were sports irl! London 2012 was great because, well, I'm in the UK, and it was the second game in the series I got so I'm obviously gonna enjoy it, and Vancouver 2010 is at first purely because of nostalgia. In both games I also enjoyed the rival battles, and I'm sad we could never unlock them, however you did have the Mii costumes to make up for it! Vancouver 2010 is what got me into Mario, Sonic and videogames in general!
beijing 2008 was the first game i ever bought for my dsi. i still play it occasionally, it holds up well imo havent bought any of the others so was a little confused that some characters arent playable for all events 😅 cant see why they d do that
Nah, The London 3DS version is the absolute worst. The events are more like micro games, and you cannot freely select any character you want for the events! That can NOT be overlooked. I was so excited to play it, but once I discovered that limitation, I immediately lost interest. The story is the only good thing, but it's a worse version of Winter DS (which is the best in the series).
I was so disappointed when I played M&S @ London 2012 on the 3DS. It honestly felt so boring & I'd still like to know why character selection was limited
@@clairehislop5873 The character limitation was the number one thing that broke my heart; not even the first game had that limitation, so there's no excuse! I don't recall them even advertising that limitation, so they knew it wouldn't be a hype feature.
Fun fact: Mario and Sonic Rio 2016 3ds has a bug where exiting out with the home menu when trying to unlock a character automatically unlocks them for you when you go back to the game. I found this out while rage quiting trying to unlock Sticks. I got rewarded for rage quitting 😂 no wonder why this game was mediocre
2010 and 2012 on the Wii are such huge parts of my childhood omg those dream events are insane. And all the music remixes are not talked about enough!
If Mario & Sonic come back for Paris, we NEED to have all characters in all events!
But really! I'm sick of the roster being literally the same for the entire franchise.
@@LilyMickIts been over a decade since they changed the main one 😢
The first thing is to see if the game comes out because nothing has been announced yet.
@@thegreatblue3075
Not just that, but an even bigger roster, and with that, good dream events, like in London.

RIP to a truly amazing franchise
Rip :((
I'm still pissed about this, especially since they stopped because theu wanted to invest in bloody NFT's
Do you think they could ever renew the franchise
2010 for the DS and 2012 for the Wii were a huge part of my childhood, I absolutely loved the story mode for DS and the dream events for 2012 were by far the best, all the references and the soundtracks are just outstanding
