This looks like the pecan recipe of my dreams of easy and it looks like the pecan pie that my grandmother used to make and my aunts make who are amazing southern cooks.
That looks amazing! 😋 My Aunt makes one but adds really really fine coconut flakes to it. Im no fan of coconut at all but somehow someway it mashes well together. 😊
Looks scrumptious! I thought I knew all about pecan pie because I was born in Texas but this looks really really good! Brown sugar with dark corn syrup is old fashioned cooking. Modern cooks use granulated white sugar and light corn syrup.
I get called an old soul for it but this has always been my favorite dessert. I love this more than “traditional” treats like apple pie, red velvet, peach cobbler etc 😅 I’m going to try this hopefully it’s not a fail 😂

I made this last year for my boyfriend’s family for Thanksgiving and it never made there. My boyfriend flat out said that this pie belongs to him and he wasn’t sharing because it was so good. I told him this year, I’ll make him a small pecan pie and the big pecan pie is for the family 😂😂😂

I was thinking skipping the baking of pecans, they always seem dry enough from the store, want to keep the oils in there for when baking in the pie. Am I wrong?

Yeah, and modern cooks can kiss my ass. For depth of flavor and a more complex flavor profile it's dark corn syrup and brown sugar. Believe.
