Hi Becky. Personally I love pecan pie, it's my favorite desert. So when I watched your video, I was already sold on your pie recipe. But, the reason I am commenting on your channel is because I come from a family of food professionals. I'm a cook/chef my younger sister has been a chef at one point in her career and my mom and her husband own a microbrewery with a kitchen, so when we sit down for a family meal, it's a big deal. Also, this means that it's hard for me to show my food personality in the kitchen, I tend to be shy and reserved and my sister and mom tend to take over the kitchen during family events. Well this year for Thanksgiving, my mom decided to cook the main course and have the rest of the family bring in the meal pot luck style, I used your pecan pie recipe for dessert and it was a show stopper. Everyone at the table loved it, and it helped me earn kudo cooking points, plus it was supper simple to make. First time I made pecan pie and it was very good girl that cinnamon you don't really taste it but it makes the pecan taste so amazing. I forgot to add the flour and honestly I didn't need it thank you girl for this it was delicious in my neighbor's loved it

Ms. Becky, this was the best pecan pie I have ever made -- thank you ! The cinnamon is everything! Also, you are absolutely right, the pecan bits rather than the whole pecan was much preferred, the texture just works better. It set perfectly too. My oven took almost 60 minutes, had to cover it with the tinfoil for the last 20 minutes. I also made my own crust. It was a hit with the family and I'll be making your recipe going forward. Your recipe was a hit this Thanksgiving. I did only use 1/2 tsp of cinnamon because I was afraid it would take over flavor but it didn’t at all so next time I’ll try the whole tsp. This was delicious but I did have to add time for cooking. The dark brown sugar worked brilliantly to make less sweet! Thank you this is a go to keeper recipe! God Bless!

The very best pecan pie is made with pure maple syrup, not Karo syrup, and no alcohol. It has won the blue ribbon many /times over all other recipes ❤️

thanks for just being real in the video. i loved it. i love to cook but just go in spurts. i'll work hard at it for all yr, then not for a yr. so to see you cook by thinking about what you're doing, that's awesome. i work outside on call and long hrs sometimes and now that my wife is retired i don't cook as much. BUT when i do (LOL) i cook like a mad scientist. that is how you strike me. maybe i'm wrong, but anyway, i loved your video. i know you have it, the cooking bug, gonna get it good maybe outstanding most of the time. my daughter said my pizza was the best she ever had- that was when she was @ 9. chicken pot pie, best she ever had, maybe 12. so yeah, i love to cook. its all about the attention to details, i think. love your video.

I didn't find it difficult to follow... didn't even write anything down, pie looks great, thanks for the tips. a cup each of sugar, corn syrup, egg. third cup butter, dash of salt and flavor of your choice. I did dark rum and homemade vanilla extract... made from rum... but i love rumcake and butter rum pecan pie sounds heavenly so I made it. tip: if you heat the sugar/egg mix to around 150 before pouring it in the shell you dont need to worry about the crust overcooking, that's a bakery secret for ya ;) when we made bulk pies we had one guy making shells and toss a scoop of pecans in each shell, another would prep the syrup and ladle each pie to the right level then push the pecans down to coat them all, the third would load up about 150 pies onto an oven rack and set them to bake... then we made a second 150 pie batch while those baked for 35 mins. My bulk job was the pie dough mixing and during the summer cookie dough mixin 500 lbs of cookies in a few hours; still got the recipe memorized, 25lbs of butter, 2 quarts of eggs, 3/4 cup vanilla extract... 125lbs of dough per mix lol

If you don't havecorn syrup, maple syrup works perfectly as a substitute. Bourbon can be added even with the vanilla extract. It leaves behind a delicious caramely flavor that pairs beautifuly with pecans.
Hello Becky, my sister in law akways brings the pecan pie for the family. Thanksgiving dinner. This year she can't come, so I searched for pecan pie recipes andcyours stood out. Follow up my family loved the pecan pie it was delish I like this better than traditional pecan pie because it’s not too sweet since ya use brown sugar and the added teaspoon on cinnamon made this pie taste so good! Thank you Becky this will be my go too pecan pie recipe from now on❤

Just wanted to say it’s a beautiful pecan pie I saw another lady on TH-cam I was she did she put all the half the pecans on the bottom of the pie crust and then she put in all the liquid and I swear all those he comes right to the top anyway I enjoyed the video take care

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for checking out my video! When making it I’ve found that the brown sugar and butter (if using salted) gives off plenty. And by using the brown sugar it way less sweet and so much more flavorful than typical recipes that use only white sugar..🤗

@@BeckyIntheKitchen Hi Becky. I did my pies last night with cornstarch. And I wanted to let you know they turned out fantastic! For me to say that about my baking is something, I'm my worst critic. Anyways, I HIGHLY SUGGEST Adding the cornstarch to your sugar with a fork till well incorporated before adding it to your other ingredients. I made the mistake of adding it at the end along with the eggs. Happy Thanksgiving, Becky 🦃

Very Confusing, i want you to know that I made the pie just the way you said placed it in the oven and that’s when you told me to put the butter in because you forgot it. Do you know what a mess I had? Even I should have known better. So disappointed.

Hi Becky, I recently subscribed to your page after seeing the pecan pie recipe. I tweaked a few things ( less cinnamon, 1/4 c white sugar in addition to the brown sugar) but mainly followed the recipe. It was was a HUGE success. My daughters 🥰. Thank you for making your video simple.

thanks for just being real in the video. i loved it. i love to cook but just go in spurts. i'll work hard at it for all yr, then not for a yr. so to see you cook by thinking about what you're doing, that's awesome. i work outside on call and long hrs sometimes and now that my wife is retired i don't cook as much. BUT when i do (LOL) i cook like a mad scientist. that is how you strike me. maybe i'm wrong, but anyway, i loved your video. i know you have it, the cooking bug, gonna get it good maybe outstanding most of the time. my daughter said my pizza was the best she ever had- that was when she was @ 9. chicken pot pie, best she ever had, maybe 12. so yeah, i love to cook. its all about the attention to details, i think. love your video.

I didn't find it difficult to follow... didn't even write anything down, pie looks great, thanks for the tips.
a cup each of sugar, corn syrup, egg. third cup butter, dash of salt and flavor of your choice. I did dark rum and homemade vanilla extract... made from rum... but i love rumcake and butter rum pecan pie sounds heavenly so I made it.
tip: if you heat the sugar/egg mix to around 150 before pouring it in the shell you dont need to worry about the crust overcooking, that's a bakery secret for ya ;) when we made bulk pies we had one guy making shells and toss a scoop of pecans in each shell, another would prep the syrup and ladle each pie to the right level then push the pecans down to coat them all, the third would load up about 150 pies onto an oven rack and set them to bake... then we made a second 150 pie batch while those baked for 35 mins. My bulk job was the pie dough mixing and during the summer cookie dough mixin 500 lbs of cookies in a few hours; still got the recipe memorized, 25lbs of butter, 2 quarts of eggs, 3/4 cup vanilla extract... 125lbs of dough per mix lol

If you don't havecorn syrup, maple syrup works perfectly as a substitute.
Bourbon can be added even with the vanilla extract. It leaves behind a delicious caramely flavor that pairs beautifuly with pecans.

Follow up my family loved the pecan pie it was delish I like this better than traditional pecan pie because it’s not too sweet since ya use brown sugar and the added teaspoon on cinnamon made this pie taste so good! Thank you Becky this will be my go too pecan pie recipe from now on❤

Just wanted to say it’s a beautiful pecan pie I saw another lady on TH-cam I was she did she put all the half the pecans on the bottom of the pie crust and then she put in all the liquid and I swear all those he comes right to the top anyway I enjoyed the video take care

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for checking out my video! When making it I’ve found that the brown sugar and butter (if using salted) gives off plenty. And by using the brown sugar it way less sweet and so much more flavorful than typical recipes that use only white sugar..🤗

@@BeckyIntheKitchen Hi Becky. I did my pies last night with cornstarch. And I wanted to let you know they turned out fantastic! For me to say that about my baking is something, I'm my worst critic. Anyways, I HIGHLY SUGGEST Adding the cornstarch to your sugar with a fork till well incorporated before adding it to your other ingredients. I made the mistake of adding it at the end along with the eggs.

I messed up when I was recording...sorry about that! You actually melt the butter and put it with the other ingredients, do it last after you get your eggs good and blended!🤗

Very Confusing, i want you to know that I made the pie just the way you said placed it in the oven and that’s when you told me to put the butter in because you forgot it. Do you know what a mess I had? Even I should have known better. So disappointed.
